After numerous scoops and set photo leaks, Marvel has finally officially confirmed the identity of their cast for Doctor Strange even though we still don’t know who the bloody hell they will be playing. In an announcement via marvel.com, the superhero juggernauts gave an official synopsis that looks to up the quirk-factor set by those pesky Guardians of the Galaxy. ‘Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.’

The titular character will of course be played by everyones favourite Sherlock Holmes, Benedict Cumberbatch, who will look to bring his horde of Cumber-bitches to Marvel as he casts a spell over the cinematic universe. He will be joined in his inter-dimensional escapades by Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton and Michael Stuhlbarg. As they look to take down 12 Years A Slave’s Chiwetel Ejiofor as he steps into the role of the villainous Baron Mordo.

The announcement also confirmed the involvement of Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen who had long been rumoured to be connected to the production but did not disclose the role he will play in the upcoming origin story.

Doctor Strange is currently filming in the UK and will kick-off the Phase Three series of Marvel films that will introduce fans to previously unseen characters in their cinematic universe. In the meantime, be sure to catch-up with Marvel comics reboot of Doctor Strange in stores now before the motion picture scheduled for release in theatres November 4, 2016.
