Wayward Pines SN2 EP1 – ‘Enemy Lines’

Welcome back to Wayward Pines. The second season of this amazing M Night Shamylan Show begins with narration from the main character of the first season’s son.

This episode introduces us to our hero for the season one Dr.Theo Yedlin. Theo is a Doctor and at first wakes up in one of the body freezing tubes. His eyes flash open as he wakes up.

In his mind he sees his wife and the last time he’d see her for 2000 years. They have a fight because he is unable to fully commit in her eyes. He then proceeds to go down to the beach for a drink and bonds with a charismatic man. This man is none other then a famed villain from last season, The Sheriff.

This man, charged with tracking people worth saving drugs Yedlin. Yedlin wakes up on a couch, in a resplendent manor. Thinking he had done wrong he apologizes to the woman before him as he gets up to walk back to his room. He realizes he isn’t on an island anymore.

Yedlin is told that he is needed in the hospital. Why would a doctor on vacation be needed for surgery? He travels with the new woman in a car.  Frank Sinatra plays over the the radio with a creepy tune. As Theo tucks and rolls out of the car, a man throws a grenade. As he runs away the car explodes.

Yedlin is eventually caught and brought back to the lady from before. In the pines people are always caught. He decides to go into surgery because the patient is deeply wounded with a bullet in her neck.

Kate happens to be another character from season 1, a key player of the resistance to the the new commanders. The Lord’s being Nazi like youths who will kill anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

Ben is the leader of the resistance as he should be. He is planning his next move against the vicious tyrants. He and his men have killed many of the Tyrants best but they need to change everything from the inside for this all to stop.

Our wounded heroine tells Yedlin to worry. He really does know nothing, except for the lies he is being fed. He walks out of the room and enjoys a cold beverage of carbonated celery. Gross. As he does he hears another sad song.

Kate kills herself, knowing if she didn’t she would be made a spectacle of.

The episode ends with a reckoning a barbaric showing of a death. The people cheer and scream knowing they are being watched. In the crowd Yedlin sees his wife Rebecca and they reunite happy to see each other, wondering how they got here.

Suddenly Ben appears and gives himself up so the reckonings will stop. He is thrown into the truck and with Yedlin he is now forced to deal with the vicious Abbies who live outside the wall. The Abbies being abnormal humans evolved in this harsh world with super strength and speed. Will they survive? Tune in next Wednesday for Blood Harvest to find out.
