So Mum is definitely the word going to into Lucifer season 2, given that the last episode shows Lucifer and Amenadiel’s mother has escaped hell. The role of mom is yet to be cast. Joe Henderson, Lucifer’s show runner says “For a while we’ve seen that Amenadiel’s been trying to be ‘God’s favorite son’, emulating himself after his father. So you can imagine that Lucifer might be ‘his mother’s son'”. We should also read into the fact that Maze went MIA after saving Amenadiel. The EP also wishes to feature more of Dr Linda (Rachael Harris) in season 2 with her serving as a confidante for other characters in the show.
There is still much debate as to who and what mom is, the majority at this stage say it’s Lilith who is the first female demon and at this stage everyone is remaining tight lipped as to who will play mommy dearest in season 2. I am very much looking forward to seeing how season 2 plays out after season 1 there is plenty of questions to be answered as well as plenty of avenues go down story wise.
Lucifer season 2 is set to air in fall 2016 in its usual time slot, which is Monday’s at 9:00-10:00pm Eastern/Pacific time.
Been doing a quick look at actresses over 40… Lilith (if it is Lilith) would need to be a no nonsense, kickass kinda woman, with the prerequisite deviousness needed for Lucifer’s mother, coupled with a softer, elegant side. I’m wondering if Cote de Pablo would fit the bill? I also found Bettina Devin – her body of work would indicate that she could handle the no nonsense, devious and elegant combo but not too sure about the kickass bit…. gonna be interesting to find out who it will be.

Yes I like your thinking with Cote de Pablo that would be a smart move, Bettina would fit but i think given the past episodes I dont know if she got enough of a the kickass side. I seen somewhere Courtney Cox was a consideration, it could work maybe?

She can’t be Lilith as Lilith was Adam’s first wife and the devil was already there to tempt Adam’s second wife, Lilith was expelled from Eden for saying no to Adam, and turned into a demon so she’s more likely to be maze’s mother or Maze herself

Lillith was the first demon…she “birthed” somehow…or created…mazikeen. Lucifer never was heaven “born”. Don’t see how Adams first wife…who would have had to be created as a mortal…could have created or birthed lucifer. He was an angel.
