Skatronixxx.com is your home for all things nerdy, geeky, trendy, and awesome. The site covers many different angles on the entertainment world, and today we are proud to expand on one of those angles. Books!

The Weekly Bookette, as the title suggests, is going to be a weekly article about all things books. Each week will cover a different topic, so stay tuned cause you never know what might happen next!

Our first “issue” will introduce our Genre of the Month. In other words, they are a list of books #TeamSkatronixxx writers think you should read this month. Our genre this month is light contemporary fiction, and below are the books we think are perfect to read while relaxing at the pool during the summer vacation. Expect a similar list on the first Saturday of every month.

First Comes Love by Emily Giffin

(Suggested by: @alyjoshaver)

A contemporary that I’m sure many will love. The author of Something Blue and Something Borrowed gives us another love story but in a sisterly way. Sisters, Josie and Meredith Garland haven’t always had the closest bond and when a terrible tragedy happens they’re very different reactions cause them to cut ties. They become estranged for fifteen very long years and on the anniversary of the unknown tragedy the sisters have to face what caused them to cut ties and how they’ve changed since then.

The Tiny Wife by Andrew Kaufman

(Suggested by: @darthaybak)

The shortest story we have on the list this month, and most certainly the weirdest. It talks about the most unusual bank robbery that leads to strange things happening to the people who got mugged. The mugger says that he actually stole a piece of their soles that day, and the only way for their lives to return to normal is by growing it back. The story follows all people involved in the robbery and how some managed to get their lives back while others didn’t (some even died!). But the story focuses on the man whose wife was shrinking and what they did about it (one of the most heart-warming conclusions to a novella I have ever read!).

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

(Suggested by: @alyjoshaver)

The perfect light summer read. It’s about a girl named Andie who has her life planned out to the T. She’s the daughter of a politician, she’s got a set internship, great friends, and any hot guy she wants. Of course, when you have your plans all set something has to come along and mess everything up. A great scandal happens and she’s forced to change her plans. Andie realizes that planning out your life isn’t always as fun as finding the unexpected. If you’re interested in The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson, join the Skatronixxx Bookettes Book Club and read along with us since it’s our July book!

Let us know what you think of our list! Tell us all about your favorite summer reads, and let us know if you have any suggestions for next month’s genre or even book club selection.

Tune in next week for an all new article with an all new books!
