Rumors are abounding when it comes to possible love interests for Legends of Tomorrow’s crew in Season 2. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim teases us in TV Line that romantic seeds will be planted. Since Martin Stein (Victor Garber) is married, Rip (Arthur Darvill) is more or less in mourning, and the Hawks would be a dead end even if they were still part of the regular cast, that leaves Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), Jax (Franz Drameh) or Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) to be the focus of a romantic entanglement.
What about Ray Palmer? Well, he is recovering from a broken heart, but there could always be a rebound with a new regular character. He’s the kind of guy that would need to be hooked up more with a regular character than an occasional one. And we are apparently getting Vixen. So that is a possibility.
I can’t see Mick hooking up with anyone anytime soon. We certainly haven’t met anyone yet that would be a good match for him. But miracles could happen.
Jax did appear to be at least somewhat interested in the girl from Harmony, but I think he’s just too busy being young and saving the world at the moment for any romantic interests.
Towards the end of Season 1, Sara and Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) were starting to look not only interesting to each other, but pretty interesting to the fans. In fact, “Captain Canary” was shipped about fairly regularly. Now that Captain Cold is gone, (but not forgotten and will be back from time to time), is there potential for Snart-from-before and time travelling Sara to get it together? It’s pretty obvious that she was into the whole bad boy thing…. and he was clearly getting more and more into Sara. But considering the flashbacks that Sara had throughout the season, she obviously still has feelings for Nyssa Al Ghul. And it is rumored that Katrina Law will be show-hopping.
I think the most likely scenario for romance pretty much would have to be with Sara as the focus. And this seems to be borne out by a report that Caity Lotz has teased:
“I think Sara might get a new girlfriend!”
Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 is slated to debut in October 13, 2016.
