The Dracula myth re-imagined! The world is controlled by vampires, and mankind’s last hope is Vanessa Helsing, who has the unique ability to turn a vampire human. Kelly Overton (Van) is no stranger to the world of supernatural entities with True Blood under her belt, where she played Rikki Naylor, alpha female werewolf.
This show started filming in Vancouver, BC, Canada in early 2016. Nomadic Pictures, a Canadian company based in Calgary with Fargo to their credit, are producing the series. Van Helsing will premiere on SyFy on September 23. This show will most likely be included in SyFy’s offsite “SyFy Presents Live From Comic-Con“.
Johnathan Scarfe (Hell on Wheels, Into The West) is pretty pumped about it according to a tweet he sent out on June 22. He, Kelly, and Christopher Heyerdahl (Sanctuary, Hell on Wheels) , will be appearing alongside creator/showrunner Neil LaBute (Hell on Wheels), and Chad Oakes & Mike Frislev, both of Nomadic Pictures (Fargo, Hell on Wheels). The panel will appear on Thursday July 21 at 5 – 6 pm.
There are no trailers for Van Helsing yet, but stay tuned to Skatronixxx, the minute we find one, we will bring it to you. I expect the trailer release will most likely happen after the panel (and possible screening!).
