New books are released every day, so it might get confusing checking them all out. Here at Skatronixxx we care about you, so we compiled a little list of the books that will release in the month of July we are excited about.

The Last Hobo by Dan Grajek

In the late seventies, 19 year old Ted Granger decides to follow his dream of being a hobo. On his adventure (that is based on a true story) hitchhiking across the U.S., Ted gives a colorful introduction to the American people. The book releases sometime in July, Details

Sticks & Stones by Abby Cooper

Imagine if the things people say about you appear on your skin. Such is the rare disorder young Elyse has. As a baby, words such as “cute” and “adorable” start to show up on her skin. But as she grows older, other kinds of words start to appear. The story follows Elyse as she learns to accept her condition. The book is released on July 12th, Details

The Wicked Boy: The Mystery of a Victorian Child Murderer by Kate Summerscale

We go back to July 1895 when 13 year old Robert Coombes murdered his mother. Robert was then sentenced to detention in Broadmoor (a well-known criminal lunatic asylum at the time). This story was of interest to Kate Smmerscale, leading her to look up more information on the case, and publish it in her book that will be released on June 12th,  Details

On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher

Evie Snow dies quietly at 82 surrounded by her kids and grandkids. The perfect way to go right? Not quite apparently. Evie is denied access to her personal heaven due to the secrets that were weighing her down for the past 50 years. Figuring out a way to reveal those secrets managed to teach Evie things about love she didn’t know possible, we will learn those things ourselves on June 14th, Details

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

A travel journalist named Lo Blacklock goes on the assignment of a lifetime, a weeklong luxury cruise. However, partway through the cruise, Lo witnesses a woman being thrown overboard, yet none of her fellows on vacation have gone missing. I have a feeling that we need to read the book on July 19th to find out who that woman was, Details

How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather

Samantha Mather, a direct descendant of Cotton Mather (a man responsible for the Salem witch trials), moves to Salem. She and her step-mother are obviously not welcome there. Samantha gets an exceptional load of hate from a group of girls in school who call themselves “the descendants”, and yep, you guessed it, they are descendants of the very witches Samantha’s ancestor burned. However Samantha has to work with those girls to break a curse involving the Salem witch trials. We will have to wait till July 26th to see this unlikely partnership, Details

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany

Harry Potter needs no introduction, we all know what this “book” is, we all know what it is about,  we all knew it was coming. Those of us who can’t see it (myself!) simply can’t wait to get to read it on July 31st, Details

Let us know if there are any other books you are looking forward to read this month. And stay tuned for next week’s Bookette for another awesome post 😀
