Much like the aliens featured in Independence Day: Resurgence, Roland Emmerich returns to exact vengeance on this beloved franchise. I’m glad Will Smith got out when he could.

Yep, this one was a complete waste of time. While the idea that the aliens would return and that humans have had time to build some defences could have worked, the lack of any personality amongst the cast or the director’s ability to pause to allow the audience to actually care about a character just killed any enjoyment this movie might have given us. That, and the rushed over plot explanations.
