Tantalus Media, the studio behind the HD remaster of The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii U, has confirmed they’re developing games for Nintendo’s upcoming console the Nintendo Switch.

Based in Australia, the studio did an excellent job of porting the title over to the Wii U, bringing significant improvements to graphics and certain gameplay elements. It’s clear that Nintendo were pleased by the job too and are looking to keep the partnership alive.

In an interview with Maxi-Geek, Tantalus CEO Tom Crago confirmed that the studio are indeed developing games for the new system:

“I can confirm that we’re working on Switch, and have been for some time. Our titles haven’t been announced as yet, but keep an eye out for more news soon.”

It remains unclear just what they are working on, but given their history with ports it’s a safe assumption they’ll be working on some sort of remaster. In the Nintendo Switch reveal trailer we did catch a glimpse at what appeared to be improved versions of both Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, so it’s possible the studio is working on one or both of those. Furthermore, it has long been rumoured that Super Smash Bros for Wii U will be brought over to the new system, in a package that encompasses all the DLC. Suffice it to say there are lots of possibilities, and given the great work they did on Twilight Princess it will be exciting to find out just what Tantalus Media is working on next.
