Crash Bandicoot Is Back! New Trailer Revealed

Earlier this year, Playstation and Activision announced a new Crash Bandicoot remaster collection at E3, featuring new versions of the first Crash Bandicoot game, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Months have passed since that announcement without any more news…until now.

At last night’s Playstation Experience event, a trailer for the upcoming game (now called Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy) was released…and boy, does it look good.

In my view, there’s a clear graphical improvement in the trailer compared to the original trilogy. Crash’s fur looks a lot more realistic, Neo Cortex has never looked better and the environments are stunning. At the same time, it looks extremely faithful to the original games: Crash still has a very cartoony look overall, he’s still collecting Wumpa fruits and he still has that awesome dance.

As well as the trailer, developers Vicarious Visions also released some further details on the remaster. Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy is a ‘remaster plus’, meaning that it features additional content beyond a straightforward remaster. The remaster collection will feature rebuilt levels created from scratch, rebuilt characters based on the original designs and rebuilt cutscenes inspired by those from the original games.

Additionally, there will be checkpoints and the ability to save the game at any point, a pause menu and time trials in all three games.
