The transit train car has been decorated up in advance of the San Diego Comic Con, taking place July 20 -24. And the pic was released on the SHIELD Twitter account. Since the flaming chain is the weapon of choice for our favorite bonehead, fans are speculating that Ghost Rider may appear on Marvel’s Agents of Shield in Season 4.  [Read more…]

Brienne’s Beau Will NOT Be In Justice League

Tormund Giantsbane

Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju had been rumored to have joined the cast of  Justice League as an Atlantean King as recently as June 21, 2016.

Warner Bros has since refuted the claim. Apparently Kristofer was offered the role, but has turned it down because the part was too small.

Brienne and tormund

That’s okay.  He has a role in the upcoming flick Fast 8. AND he has his work cut out for him if he wants to win Brienne‘s heart. Although if she could see him cleaned up, she might change her mind pretty quickly!

Keep an eye on Skatronixxx for  updates on Kristofer’s work in both Game of Thrones and Fast 8.

Indiana Jones Official Release Date!

Indiana Jones

The really exciting news about Indiana Jones 5, yet to be titled, is that Harrison Ford, now at the tender age of 74, will be reprising the role of the swashbuckling archaeologist. He will be 77 when the film is released, just days after his birthday. [Read more…]

The Dark Tower – Update!!

dark_tower-730x730

The lid is firmly on for any news of the adaptation of Stephen Kings’ The Dark Tower. And by firmly on,  I mean chained down in a style that would defy Harry Houdini’s best efforts! That being said, there are a few morsels out there that I was able to find. Last month, some filming took place in Cape Town. There are leaked set pics out there on the net, but I have chosen not to include them, since that could potentially infringe.  If you have not seen them and would like to, they can be seen here.

On Father’s Day, Idris teased the fans with this tweet:

Not One But TWO Agatha Christie Biopics Planned!

Agatha-Christie_2469854b

I have long been a fan of Agatha Christie. I spent many, many happy hours (too many if you ask my mum) reading the adventures of Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot. And I recently discovered that my love of Agatha Christies’ work must be tied to a genetic marker or something, because one of my grandchildren also enjoys the little Belgian detective’s adventures, lol. What generation gap?

According to an article by joblo.com, and one at womenandhollywood.com, there is a treat upcoming at some point in the future for fans of Agatha Christie. It seems that two companies, Sony and Paramount, are waiting for approval from the Christie Estate before their respective projects can move forward. At first glance, Sony and Paramount appear to be competing, but I bet that Christie fans will want to see both versions. I know that I will. Sony is looking at her non-traditional life  as a whole, and Paramount appears to be concentrating on theories of what happened to Agatha during the 11 days of 1926 that she went missing. Did you know that David Tennant and Catherine Tate had an explanation for that period in Doctor Who Season 4 Episode 7 The Unicorn and the Wasp, lol? Penny Dreadful SN3 EP8 & EP9 – ‘The End’

2episodeseason3finaleevent

Greetings fellow Dreadfuls,

Questions that have been asked have been answered, in a truly gripping season finale. This is, no doubt in my mind, the end of a powerful show that we have all come to know and adore, but it was a fitting end. This writing will not be the recap of the final two episodes you may have come to expect from me, but more of a wrap up on the season, and the series.

Thank you to ShowTime for seeing the possibilities, and to the stellar cast and crew, who made the world of Penny Dreadful so compelling and brought us along for the ride.

Thank you also to the creator of this incredibly inventive and original show, Mr. John Logan. Your vision brought the classic characters to life, and merged them seamlessly with characters original to the series. If Penny Dreadful is finished, as it looks very much to be, please know that you certainly have achieved your goals. And in the process, you have done the great writers and poets of the age proud. New Heroes And A Villain For DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

wp-1466309784371.jpg

With the move from regular to recurring role of Wentworth Miller aka Captain Cold, and the exit of Hawk duo Ciara Renee & Falk Hentschel, the crew of the WaveRider is a little light for the upcoming Season 2. The news currently making the rounds is that Mari McCabe aka Vixen is being cast from the past, and that Nick Zano (Cougar Town, Minority Report) will be enlisting as Dr. Nate Heywood. Nate is a historian and the grandson of Henry Heywood – WWII superhero Commander Steel and a member of the JSA. The Season 1 finale of LoT hinted very strongly (broad side of a barn door strongly, lol) at the appearance of the JSA in season 2, thanks to a second WaveRider that Rex Tyler (Patrick J Adams) crashed in front of our team.

Mr. Kidd Speaks – An Exclusive Interview With Julian Black Antelope

PENNY DREADFUL

Julian Black Antelope as Mr. Kidd, Josh Hartnett as Ethan Chandler, Stephen Lord as Mr. Roper

Greetings Dreadfuls, fans of Blackstone, Skatronixxx peeps and everyone else! Recently I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and interviewing Julian Black Antelope. Dreadfuls will recall that he played Mr. Kidd in the final episode (Sn 1 Ep 8) of Penny Dreadful – Grand Guignol. Mr. Kidd and his partner, Mr. Roper were hired by Ethan’s father to bring him back home, a job that Ethan put a quick and bloody end to. Since I only started reviewing Penny D this year (although I have watched since the beginning), if my attention hadn’t been drawn to the fact that Julian is local, I would have missed out on the incredible opportunity to talk with him. Thanks, Sis! Love ya!  Read on for details of my interview with this incredibly versatile, interesting and down to earth man.

Will ShowTime Renew Penny Dreadful? PLEASE?

penny-dreadful

Say it ain’t SO, ShowTime!!

Rumor and speculation has it that my fave TV show, one of the best offerings that ShowTime has IMHO, will perhaps NOT get a Season 4!

These rumors,  reported on CarterMatt and seen @EvaGreenWeb absolutely break my heart. I think the premise is bloody brilliant, the characters are bloody brilliant, and the cast are much more than bloody brilliant. In a time when many series and movies are little better than remakes or copies of each other, this show stands out as pretty much completely original. [Read more…]

Penny Dreadful SN3 EP7 – ‘Ebb Tide’

Graveyard

Hey Dreadfuls, welcome back! The emotions this episode brought out in me were sentimentality (yeah my eyes got a bit wet), anger, betrayal and even disappointment. I saw somewhere that someone (I’m sorry, don’t recall where or who) said Penny D is so bloody good because of the “emotional sandbox that the cast gets to play in”. This is such an apt description of this episode.

In the opening sequence, we see Lily watching an unnamed woman who is burying her baby girl in a pauper’s graveyard. She makes an impassioned speech to the woman, promising that ‘We will rise’. There is empathy in Lily’s eyes, but also something else. Something that skirts around the edge of fanaticism. She places flowers on the grave of her own child. [Read more…]
