Ryan Reynolds talks about script for ‘Deadpool 2’

rsz_deadpool2

So Ryan Reynolds isn’t hanging around by the sounds of it with getting the Deadpool sequel ball rolling he was doing a podcast with Chris Hewitt from Empire and was quoted as saying “We are on a script, we are well into a script” this of course is music to my ears.

It has so far been a box office success taking what the last Wolverine did in its entire run in one weekend and it’s not hard to see why the film was amazing from start to finish. One person who seems to be eager to get in on the action is Avatar actor Stephen Lang I won’t spoil who he wants to play for the people who have yet to see the film(Just make sure you stay for the end credits). But below is a picture of Lang pulling a strong pose to show he is ready via his Instagram.

Reynolds also spoke about the issues he had with pulling the current Deadpool film through production nightmares he said the following.

We has endless conversations about other X-men. Taskmaster was in the script originally, too expensive. We had versions where we wanted Hugh Jackman in there, we wanted all kinds of cameos from different people, but it just becomes a big mess at the studio.

We went through such hell developing the script and which X-men we could keep and which we couldn’t and it just turned into a nightmare. The studio would just say ‘too expensive, too expensive to expensive’ to everyone. So we were like ‘Well what about Negasonic Tennage Warhead’ and they said ‘Negasonic what?’

Seeing as how well the first movie has already done I can’t see there being the same problem with the sequel (Fingers crossed). You can listen to the podcast in its entirety on the following link https://soundcloud.com/empiremagazine/deadpool-spoiler-special-with-ryan-reynolds (Be warned if you have not seen the film yet I would not give this a listen as they talk about the film in its entirety)

Hardcore Henry – Trailer Review

hardcoreh

So while I was waiting for Deadpool to begin they showed a trailer for an upcoming film called Hardcore Henry, it seemed quite interesting so I thought I’d do a little write up on the trailer which can be found on YouTube.

So the trailer starts with a woman bringing a man by the name of Henry back to life and asking him if he can remember anything a shake of the head to confirm he doesn’t. The next stage you see the woman attaching a robotic arm and leg to Henry. We then find out that the woman piecing poor old Henry back together is indeed his wife.

After some a brief explosion and some men chasing them you start to notice something different about the way this movie has been filmed when a van full of armed mercenaries turn up and start to pummel Henry and push him off a bridge. The film is in fact filmed from a First person perspective the same as used in such games as Call of Duty and Halo it turns out that Henrys wife has been taken hostage and everyone is out to kill Henry.

The Queen song  Don’t stop me now kicks in after a soldier chucks Henry a shotgun and cue Henry running around causing all sorts of destruction and chaos from shooting a mercenary mid-air as he is kicked down a flight of stairs to crashing through the back of a van firing a mini gun and flying out the front. There is also a moment where he is on the top of a van and drops a grenade through the sun roof jumping off the van and ending up on the back of a guy riding a motorbike.

After a few more fight scenes one of which shares similarities to the scene in Kill Bill Volume with the Uma Thurman fighting the Crazy 88’s where he appears to be completely outnumbered by some guys in white overalls and the trailer comes to an end.

The film is set for release on the 8th of April 2016, which so happens to be my birthday so may have to treat myself with a trip to see if it is any good.

UFC Fight Night 84 – Preview

silvabisping

So for my first piece on UFC I will be covering the upcoming UFC ‘Fight Night 84’ event which is due to take place on the 27th of February. This will feature a main card event of Michael “The Count” Bisping vs Anderson “The Spider” Silva.

Now Bisping is known for having a knack for trying to wind up his opponents before a fight and this fight is no exception as we found out from a press meet and greet that took place on Friday the 12th of February. A video of the conversation that took place can be found on You tube if you search for UFC fight night 84 Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva exchange words.

It starts off with The Count walking up to say hello to Silva a few pleasant words are exchanged up until the point where Bisping says the words “No Viagra” to Silva. (This came about after Silva had been suspended from the UFC for failing two drug tests after his UFC 183 fight against Nick Diaz for a banned substance Drostanolone which is a form of anabolic steroid. Silva’s lawyer put this down to a tainted sexual enhancement supplement.) To which Silva replies “No just my fist to your face” some laughing from the press then Bisping replies with “My shin to your chin”

A few more comments from the pair and it ends with Bisping saying “See you later sweetheart” and Silva saying “Ok love you”.

This will be Silva’s first fight back after his 1 year suspension from the sport and Bisping has stated that the failed test do no bother him and is looking forward to one of the biggest tests of his life and possibly his career but he is looking forward to the challenge.

Also appearing on this card is a local fighter from my neck of the woods by the name of Bradley Scott who will face off against Krzysztof Jotko. CM Punk was also due to be making his UFC debut at this event but has now pulled out through injury so the wait to see if he has got what it takes in the UFC continues.

A detailed review of the fights will be written up after the event so keep your eyes peeled for this.
