So it’s been announced that Phil ‘CM Punk’ Brooks may finally make his UFC debut in September after being added to the UFC 203 fight card in September along side the likes of Ronda Rousey and Connor McGregor.
CM Punk was due to make his first UFC appearance at UFC 199 against Mikey Gall but was ruled out due to a shoulder injury. Mikey Gall is undefeated in his two UFC fights so far and is considerably younger being 24 and CM Punk being 37 so this should be an interesting fight as CM Punk is still a mystery due to having no previous fighting experience except for the choreographed fighting in the WWE.
CM Punk had this to say.
“The instant I got cleared I got on the horn with [UFC president Dana White] and we nailed everything down so I will be debuting September 10 in Cleveland,” Brooks told the UFC Unfiltered podcast. “I’m super excited. For obviously a myriad of reasons. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”
So there we have it not long to go until we finally get to see what CM Punk is made of in the Octagon. I don’t hold out much hope but I’m always open to being proved wrong when it comes to fights in the UFC.
