rsz_12081209_166437577033466_1068446456_n

So it’s time for my review on the latest UK episode of the Arrow this weeks episode focuses on Diggle and his Brother Andy as well as Felicity’s struggle to come to terms with her condition.

We start the episode with Diggle and Delilah out for a walk after a dinner only to be interrupted by Chan an Argus agent who knows Delilah he is looking panicked and asking Delilah for her help as he has been compromised Diggle and Delilah suggest that he contact Argus but he refuses as he does not know who he can trust apart from her. The next thing a van we see if a van come hurtling towards them and someone shooting at them, Diggle jumps in the way of Delilah taking a shot to the arm before then men bundle Chan into the back of the van Diggle manages to catch up with them before being dragged along and then being shook loose.

rsz_arrow1-600x373

Oliver and Felicity are having a heart to heart about her condition and Oliver tries to convince her to join back up with the team to keep herself occupied and do what she does best. They are interrupted by a text to Oliver to advise that an Argus agent has been kidnapped and that Diggle has been shot and has to rush off to catch up with the team. The team split up in order to try and find out some information on where agent Chan has been taken to, Laurel and Diggle arrive at a crime scene to find Chan’s body and it appears he has been tortured for information before he was murdered.

Delilah and Diggle go off to see Amanda Waller to find out what she knows about Chan’s latest mission she refuses to help them but not before slipping a flash drive to Delilah when shaking her hand. The team uncover that the people who took Chan are an ex military group called Shadowspire, Diggle knows the team as they were stationed with him and Andy when in Afghanistan and that they were disbanded by Argus when they were found to be war profiteering. We also find out that Andy was working for them behind Diggles back and we also find out that the man in charge of Shadowspire is none other than Reiter.

We also she and interesting turn of events with Felicity as she struggles to cope with being bound to a wheelchair she starts hearing voices only to be confronted by an hallucination of her past Goth self. Telling her that she has changed and is hiding the true her behind trying to be a hero, Felicity does not react well to what is happening and when Oliver tries to talk to her again she snaps and asked to be left alone she is not talking to Oliver of course but the hallucination of her former self. Later in the episode we see Felicity finally take control and advise her past self that she is not that person anymore and to be left alone the hallucination stops with Felicity re joining the team and finally given her code name of Overwatch (Oliver states that he wanted to call her Oracle but that was already taken making a nod towards Batman’s Barbara Gordon who is also wheelchair bound and a tech wizard for the Dark knight)

rsz_vlcsnap-01405

We see Andy being transferred to a cell at Argus HQ so that Amanda Waller can ask him some questions about Shadowspires plans all he gives away is that they are not after the rail guns that Argus thinks they will be targeting. This is later confirmed when Shadowspire storm the HQ taking Waller and Delilah as well as some other agents hostage, Diggle and Andy are down in the detention centre and Diggle manages to rig a TV to send out a signal to send to the team a trick he learned from Felicity. The team assemble and make there way to the HQ but before they can make it there the commander of Shadowspire shoots Waller in the head as she will not give up the codes to something called Rubicon so the task now falls to Delilah after Diggle is captured and threatened with being shot in the head she agrees to give them the codes.

rsz_arrow-season-4-argus-blues

Andy proves his loyalty and trust to Diggle by attacking the Shadowspire commander and saving his brother for being murdered and putting a stop to the siege. The episode comes to a close with Andy being released from his cell and taken to Diggle and Delilahs place and being introduced to his niece. We also see Felicity show a picture of what she used to look like to Oliver before burning the picture stating that she is not that person anymore.

The Flash SN2 EP11 – ‘The Reverse-Flash Returns’

rsz_the_flash_sn2_ep_11

So it’s time once again for a review on The Flash season 2 and this week it focuses around the return of the Reverse-Flash, Barry’s greatest enemy.

So as we saw last week Patty made the decision to leave to move to Midway city to enrol in a forensics course, Barry is not taking it well and has been making himself busy with patrolling the Central city and starts the episode off by stopping a runaway fuel truck. As Cisco is going through the plan to use the turtle to capture Zoom with Harry (Dr Wells from Earth 2) Jay and Caitlin come in and make the announcement that the turtle was found dead in his cell at Star labs. We also see Eobard Thawne looking over The Flash saving the truck and telling Gideon that he now knows which time period The Flash is from and he has found a way to go home.

Barry makes his way over to the police HQ and Patty and him share an awkward moment where they talk about her leaving and she walks out as Iris walks in. Iris then offers Barry some advice that he does not have to let her go but Barry does not want to stand in her way as it’s her dream job. Cisco and Harry are at Star labs trying to figure out what causes Ciscos vibe ability, Harry asks Cisco to follow him into the time vault. Cisco obliges and walks into the room only for Harry to turn up in the Reverse-Flash suit to announce that Ciscos ability is triggered by fear before grabbing him by the neck, cue Cisco seeing the return on the real Reverse-Flash being shot at by two security guards.

It turns out that the Reverse-Flash is at Mercury labs and kidnaps Dr McGee after knocking The Flash down, but turns out that the Reverse-Flash needs Dr McGee to use the tachyons to send him back to his time in the future, Dr McGee tries to refuse only to have the Reverse-Flash say if she doesn’t she will die.

rsz_the-reverse-flash.jpg

We also find out that Iris’s mums life is coming to an end so Iris pays her a visit to tell her that she forgives her but her mum also mentions that she hasn’t seen Wally for a while as she thinks he is mad at her. This causes Iris to visit Wally to advise him to go and see her before it is two late, Wally doesn’t agree and walks away from Iris.

Caitlin has asked Barry is she can help find Jays Earth 1 doppelgänger as she believes that she can uses some of his cells to help combat the mystery illness Jay has contracted from losing his speed to Zoom. Patty shows up to speak to Barry but Patty thinks it’s strange to find Caitlin there prompting her to say to Barry that she did not know he worked with Star and Barry lets slip that him and Joe help them sometimes. This later leads to her catching Joe off guard and telling him that Patty knows that Barry is The Flash a fact that he denies only for Patty to tell him that he is a terrible liar.

Harry has also come up with a way of enhancing Ciscos vibe ability using some goggles as Cisco focuses on the Reverse-Flash and Dr McGee he sees a conversation between the two of them and the Reverse-Flash killing her before jumping through and time portal. Cisco tells the team what he saw but the time he saw was three hours on the future so the team have that long to figure out where they are and stop the Reverse-Flash from going back to his time.

rsz_hqdefault-2.jpg

Joe shows up at Star labs to tell Barry that Patty knows he is The Flash and that he should try coming clean with her about it only for Barry to shoot him down advising him that he does not want to give his enemy’s another person to target to get to him. Patty later confronts Barry about him being The Flash and he denies that he is causing her to leave the room in tears and heading for Midway city.

The team eventually track down the Reverse-Flash and The Flash shows up just in time to save Dr McGee before she is killed. The Flash takes off on a chase to catch the Reverse-Flash and when he does eventually catch him beats him to the point that he knocks him out and he ends up in a cell at Star labs. We start to see that something may not be right with Cisco at this point as blood starts coming from his nose but this is only notice by Harry who says nothing.

We then see Cisco taunting the Reverse-Flash stating that he was the one who was responsible for his capture only to start bleeding from his nose again on the way back to the lab, Barry then goes down to confront Eobard Thawne to tell him that there race was finally over. The team then interrupt Barry for an emergency he rushes back to the lab to find Cisco fitting on the bed and bleeding quite a bit from the nose, it turns out that within capturing the Reverse-Flash they have changed the time line and Cisco is being affecting by this and if they don’t send the Reverse-Flash back to his time Cisco will die.

The hardest decision Barry needs to make comes with him agreeing to help him get back to his time in order to save his friend as he does not want someone he cares about suffer because of him. The episode comes to an end with Barry throwing the Reverse-Flash through a the time portal and saving Ciscos life.

rsz_the-flash-episode-11-reverse-origin-thawne-932x466

The episode comes to an end with Caitlin and Jay meeting in the park and Jay saying that he found his doppelgänger but he would not be able to help him as Jay has mutate genes and the only way for him to get well again is for them to defeat Zoom. We also see Patty make a panicked phone call to Barry saying that someone is on her train with a gun as you would expect Barry whizzes off to save the day only to get to the train and find out it was just her way of getting him there to see that he is The Flash after all.

UFC 196 – McGregor vs Diaz & Holm vs Tate

rsz_mcgregordiazart

So tomorrow we see “The Notorious” Connor McGregor vs Nate Diaz as well as a title fight between newly crowned Woman’s Bantamweight champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm vs Misha “Cupcake” Tate.

rsz_holm_vs_tate

The co-main event will be Holm vs Tate. Holm won the UFC title from Ronda Rousey with a viscous head kick that rocked the UFC world. Before this Rousey looked unstoppable putting away opponents for fun. Tate has been chasing the belt ever since the women’s division was entered into the UFC and has fought Rousey for the title at UFC 168 but lost in the 3rd round by tapping out of an arm bar. This is going to be a very interesting fight as it will be the first Bantamweight title without Rousey being involved and could (finally) be the time that Tate takes home the title.

rsz_mcgregor_vs_diaz.jpg

The main fight of the evening comes down to McGregor vs Diaz. This is set to be another interesting fight, as McGregor has had to move up to Welterweight in order for the fight to happen. The fight was originally meant to be for the Lightweight title against Rafael Dos Anjos, however, he had to pull out due to injury. McGregor and Diaz are both looking forward to this fight. how the 2 main events unfold next week, but for now, you can view a short highlight reel of the open workouts at the following link http://www.ufc.com/media/ufc-196-mcgregor-vs-diaz-open-workout-highlights

The Flash SN 2 EP 10 – ‘Potential Energy’

So the second half of season 2 got under way in the UK last night and in the opening sequence we see Barry turn up to a date with Patty with a bunch of flowers on fire. (Has Barry told Patty about his secret identity) only for Zoom to turn up mid conversation and kidnap Patty cue a quick chase to the top of a building where Zoom politely drops Patty off we then see  Barry waking up from this nightmare.

In this episode we see Barry struggle to be open with Patty about what is going on with him and he is weighing up the cost of telling Patty that he is the flash. After a discussion between Iris and Patty, Isris convinces Barry that telling Patty who he really is may be the best course of action. Barry runs this past the team and all of them are behind Barry’s decision well all except for Dr Wells who advises Barry that if he does this he opens Patty up to becoming a target.

Wells’s point is proved that evening when the turtle makes an appearance to steal a valuable painting and Patty who can handle herself just fine pulls a gun on him. Barry disappears to try and gain the element of surprise on the turtle. As Barrys turns up time is slowed down and the Turtle attempts to drop a chandelier on Patty the flash makes it to her in time to push her out of the way but is in turn crushed under the chandelier instead and dragged away by Jay.

After an argument with Barry about leaving Patty at the party, Patty is then kidnapped by the Turtle and taken to an art storage warehouse owned by the turtles former wife who we find out wanted to leave him and he has her preserved behind some glass as a trophy and plans on doing the same to Patty. The flash manages to make it to Patty in time and break through the turtle’s time barrier in order to stop him and save Patty and trap the turtle in the prison at Star labs.

The episode is coming to a close and Barry goes to see Patty of the police station to see if she is alright cue Patty advising Barry that she is leaving to train as a forensic investigator and that there relationship is over. We also see what kind of lengths Harrison Wells from Earth 2 is willing to go to in order to get his daughter back by appearing to kill the turtle in his cell. This all comes down to the fact that Barry and the team were planning on using the turtle’s powers to slow Zoom down and as Wells appears to be helping Zoom in order to get his daughter back he cant allow that.

We do also see Wally West appear again in this episode and that the only reason he has come to Central city is to drag race and earn money in order to pay his mums hospital bills and not to have a relationship with Joe as he feels he abandoned him. They do make up at the end of the episode and sit down to enjoy some takeout food.

The biggest shock at the end of the episode is the return of the reverse flash but not as Dr Wells this incarnation of the reverse flash is Eobard Thawne and he asks Gideon where he is and the episode comes to a close.rsz_the-flash-211-synopsis

Arrow SN 4 EP 10 – ‘Blood Debts’

rsz_arrow-season-4-episode-10-anarky-with-flame

So the second half of Arrow season 2 started back up again this week in the UK you can see my review of the episode below.

So at the end of the first part of season 2 we see a very angry Damian Darhk look on as Oliver unveils his plans to redevelop the waterfront in Star city and propose to Felcity. Oliver and Felicity leave in a limo only to be ambushed by the ghosts and Felicity ends up being shot under a barrage of bullets, Oliver is then seen stood at a grave with Barry Allen and declaring he has to kill Darhk.

This episode revolves around team Arrow and their pursuit of Damian Darhk the only link they have to Darhk is Andy, Diggles brother who is also one of the ghosts. We see Diggle attempt two types of tactics to get information from his brother the first is to beat it out of him the second is to try and ask him as his brother after advice from Lyla which works and Andy mentions that Darhk used to talk about the trees in Stonehaven.

We also find out that the grave at the mid season break does not belong to Felicity as she is in the hospital receiving surgery for the nerves damage she sustained from the gun shot wound. But all is not well as we find out that the damage caused is not curable and she will never walk again.

We also see the return of Machin AKA Anarchy the first clue we know he is back is when Oliver finds out where Darhk’s base of operation is through Captain Lance. Oliver arrives to find some dead ghosts and upon opening a chest he sees the Anarchy symbol. The team eventually track Machin down at his foster parents home and after a brief fight scene they capture him and take him for interrogation to find out what he knows about Darhk. After the police capture Machin and are transferring him Oliver intervenes and sets him free with one mission to kill Darhk not knowing that Oliver has fitted him with a tracker.

The team track Machin until his signal disappears, Laurel manages to triangulate his last know location and it’s Stonehaven the place Andy told Diggle that Darhk had mentioned before. The team arrives and Machin has Darhk’s wife and daughter tied up, they manage to rescue them before Machin disappears.

Oliver comes face to face with Darhk while chasing after Machin and the two start to fight after which Oliver advises Darhk that he saved his family and Darhk advises Oliver that he has brought himself a few weeks with his family before he comes after him and them.

We also see flashbacks to Oliver’s time on the island as he is brought back to the camp by Conklin to reveal that Oliver did not kill a Taiana as he told them. His punishment is lashes at the hands of Conklin until the Reiter notices some symbols on Oliver’s stomach glowing and sends him to the prison.

Thea also reveals to Laurel about her run in with Darhk and that she felt that her blood lust completely went when he touched her and that his magic did not affect her.

We end the episode back at the cemetery 4 months have passed since the encounter with Darhk and Oliver is getting into a town car and Felicity is in there waiting so we know this much it isn’t her grave as some may have thought. But she is looking very upset and says to Oliver “You know what you have to do right, you have to kill the son of a bitch.

The wait to see whose grave it actually is continues.

Bisping Vs Silva UFC London Fight Review

rsz_bisping_vs_silva_poster

So the main event of the evening was Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping VS Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva scheduled for five 5 minute rounds.

Round 1

Bisping came out looking like the hungrier fighter with an attempted head kick followed by a leg kick. Both missed but he quickly followed up with two punches that landed and another leg and head kick, which again, did not hit the target. A flurry of punches were then thrown by both fighters. Silva caught Bisping with a shot that wobbled him but he quickly replied with a shot of his own which rocked Silva. The bell sounds and Silva tries to embrace Bisping for a good first round however Bisping did not like this and pushed Silva away from him.

Round 2

The second round begins and Bisping starts the round off by pushing Silva back to the cage. Silva is just stood against the cage trying to lure Bisping in to doing something stupid so he can take advantage of a rash move. Eventually, Silva lands a right hook on Bisping and he replies with a left and then right kick on Silva. Silva goes to swing a punch but Bisping gets there first and connects with a right left combination which drops Silva to the mat. Bisping takes full advantage of this and unleashes some ground and pound on Silva who is then saved by the bell.

rsz_bisping_kick

Round 3

Silva comes out for round three and takes more control of the octagon this time. Bisping throws a few punches all of which are slipped by Silva, who in turn, lands a leg kick on Bisping. Bisping attempts a front kick that is caught by Silva who follows up with a head kick which connects. Bisping replies with a good jab and after a brief exchange loses his mouthpiece. Referee Herb Dean picks this up from the floor and lets the fight continue as the round is almost over. Bisping is distracted by this and asks Herb Dean for his mouth piece back and Silva takes full advantage landing a flying knee perfectly. This floors Bisping and cuts him open just as the buzzer goes to end the round. Silva, somewhat prematurely, runs off celebrating like he has won the fight ending up on top of the cage, but Herb Dean soon reminds him that the fight is not over and the corners franticly get there fighters ready for round 4.

Round 4

Bisping still looks dazed at the start of the round but manages to charge forward during an exchange of punches. He is caught with a low blow so the fight is stopped to allow him time to recover. Once resumed, Bisping forces Silva back up against the cage and throws an array of punches. Silva stands there trying to taunt Bisping and only seems interested in looking for the big finish. Both fighters throw punches and Silva is accidently caught in the eye with an outstretched finger for which Herb Dean calls a time out to allow Silva time to recover and for the doctor to check him over. The fight resumes and Bisping predictably pushes Silva back up to the cage again and lands a left and right jab. Silva replies with a right hook, left straight and uppercut combination.

Round 5

The final round gets under way and Silva attempts a high kick, which is partially blocked by Bisping, and quickly follows up with another head kick that definitely has Bisping rocked, but Silva can’t apply the finish. Herb Dean calls time to have Bisping’s cut assessed by the doctor. Bisping signals that he wants to continue and the fight gets back under way. Silva throws a viscous front kick that wobbles Bisping and is followed by two knees but this still doesn’t finish the fight. Bisping attempts a take down but is denied by Silva who catches him with a knee. After a few more exchanges and the fight comes to an end and we go to the judges score cards.

rsz_silva_front_kick

Bisping wins the fight by unanimous decision 48-47 by all three judges.

Interview With Simon Pimpernell From Dirty Public

rsz_dirty_public-2

**NOTE FROM SKATRONIXXX** I set our writer Deadpool_1984 a challenge.  I put him in charge of the music content of site as I know that he has a vast knowledge of all genres of music. One of those challenges was to see if he could arrange an interview with some of the bands he knew.

One of the first ones to respond was a band called Dirty Public.  Mission accomplished! Let’s find out a bit about Dirty Public .

———————————————————————————————————————————–

1) How did the band form?

Bassist Bertie and myself (Singer/Guitarist Simon) have known each other since we were young lads and met original singer Terri Gorham at school. I then met original drummer Jason Balecke at work and we decided to meet for a jam. Eventually we entered a battle of the bands competition, which we won, despite it being our first ever gig. Several line up changes later we began gigging more and more regularly and Jeremy Rosier, our long time producer joined on lead guitar and backing vox duties.

2) How would you describe your musical style to the casual listener?

We try to do a mixture of songs that range from short sharp punk rock through to moody slow burners and chilled acoustic tracks. Music for different moods! But I’d class us as an Indie Rock band I guess

3) So you have been around for a while in the local music scene do you have any plans to do shows a bit further a field?

Yes we are always up for playing somewhere new. We’ve played all sorts of places from pubs, clubs and local festivals, to even gigging in a soft play center!

4) Who would you say is the biggest influence for the sound of the band?

Probably myself lol

5) If a film was made of your lives, who would you want to play you all and why? And what would it be called?

It would be a modern ‘carry on’ film with slapstick and disaster around every corner haha. Carry on gigging!

Pimp 2

6) If you could add a new member to the band either dead or alive who would it be and why?

George Martin was known as the fifth Beatle as he was so important to the sound and structure of their song, and as I’m a Beatles maniac I’d go for him!

7) Do you have any tours lined up soon? If so are you going on tour with anyone else and where can we expect to see you play?

Currently booking gigs up as we speak, check our fb page for the latest.

8) What can we expect to see from you in the 2016?

More music, more gigs and hopefully no line up changes!

9) Tell our readers one fun fact about yourselves that they may not already know?

Jeremy Rosier has worked for the 80s legend that is Midge Ure over the years, ranging from playing guitar and synths to guitar tech duties.

10) Finally what advice would you have for upcoming musicians?

Rafael Dos Anjos Pulls Out Of UFC 196 (Update)

rapcon

So the next UFC event I was due to cover after Fight Night 84 this weekend, was UFC 196 on March 5th, Connor McGregor VS Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title. News broke earlier today that Anjos has now had to pull out due to breaking his foot. This is a massive shame because if McGregor had beaten Anjos, he would have been the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts in two different weight classes at the same time.

Anjos’ manager has advised that the break will take between 6-8 weeks to heal so there is no chance of him fighting in this event. There does however seem to be a pattern forming here as, two weeks before McGregor was due to fight for the featherweight title against Jose Aldo, Aldo pulled out with a rib injury. The fight was eventually rearranged and McGregor went on to knock Aldo out with a spectacular left hook to the chin.

The UFC are currently looking to replace Anjos with another fighter as they want to keep McGregor on the bill for the Las Vegas pay per view event. There has been talk around Donald Cerrone stepping in to replace Anjos despite only fighting as recently as the 21st of February. There is also talk around Nate Diaz taking the fight, but judging by his Twitter comment stating “He’s going to have to get on his knees and beg”, this may take some doing. McGregor is in no way the kind of guy who will beg someone to fight him.

Since writing this article last night it has now been agreed that Connor McGregor will face Nate Diaz at the event as the main fight of the evening but this will no longer be a title match and will also be fought at Welterweight (170lbs) as Diaz does not have enough time to cut weight down to Lightweight (155lbs). This will be an awesome fight as both fighters are not fans of each other and McGregor has been hoping to fight Diaz eventually anyway and both fighters are known for not mixing there words so I’m expecting a war.
