Is A ‘Monster Squad’ Sequel Coming?

The-Monster-Squad-1987-Poster

“Kick him in the nards, kick him in the nards!” “He doesn’t have any!” “DO IT! DO IT!” “Wolfman’s got nards!”…. One of the best dialogues from a classic I grew up with. And in case you have not seen this movie, I am talking about Monster Squad. OMG what a fun wonderful edge-of-your-seat movie. It had just the right amount of spook and fun so you could watch it as a kid and not feel like you were going to get nightmares for a week. Scenes that made you laugh hard and others that had you covering your eyes…. Yes, this was a great kid monster movie.

And now they are talking about a sequel…. *EEEEEEK!!!* I will be ready to watch this. I just hope they don’t ruin it by super sizing the special effects and making it scarier and less fun. Jason Black who co-wrote the original (which came out in 1987) is thinking that a sequel 30 years later could be good. The kids from the first movie all grown up, with kids of their own, and facing the horrors again.

Black goes on to say that the original movie wasn’t even that big of a deal when it first came out. In fact it plunged in the box office department until years later. He had no idea it became a big deal when it did. The original movie has a group of kiddos who are up against some of the most popular monsters known to man kind. They are the only ones who can defeat them and are all earth has…. (love the 80s)

If you have not seen this, I suggest you get out there and do so. The sequel is not going to make any sense if you don’t. Plus dude come on, it’s Monster Squad, an 80s classic, just like the Explorers, Stand By Me, The Goonies, and others. I may have to re-watch this again today… ^_^

Henry Cavill Teases Iconic ‘Black’ Superman Suit For Justice League Movie

Oh my goodness, mmmmm, this man…. Henry Cavill makes my heart stop. And seeing him in a superman suit, dear lord in heaven….. See, I grew up loving superman. First crush was Christopher Reeves as the Man of Steel. So the super suit with the red undies was always my thang. But man, let me tell you, this Mr. Cavill makes that suit look goooooooood.

4028430-5071345969-henry

There was a picture recently teased by the stud man himself on his instagram site, and it appears our boy in blue may be going black. Though the image does not show the whole suit, it shows a part of it, completely dark with the hashtag at the bottom of the pic saying #Superman. This seems fitting as he did die in the Dawn of Justice movie, and it appears they may be going back to the comic book route where they bring him back to life. In the comics he came back to life some time later wearing the black suit and a silver logo, plus a little extra hair on the top…. Mullet style. (wonder if Cavill will rock the mullet… that could be sweet)

Superman-Suit-History-Return-Black

I cant wait to see where they go with this story line. Will they do the whole, other people pretending to be superman as they did in the comics before he comes back to life? Will there be a possibility of a bad Superman? (hope not) ooooh I cant wait! Regardless, I am anxious to see the Man of Steel back in action again on the big screen. ^_^

R2D2 Does It All, Including Popcorn? *Excited Beep*

OK I recently have become a popcorn addict, having had given up my beloved chips for something less in the salty and carby field. SO my body tingles when I found out that there was an R2D2 popcorn maker! YAAAAAAAAS!!

R2-D2-Popcorn-Maker

ivok_r2d2_popcorn_maker_inuse

The lovely little air head is designed to look like our favorite droid, with blue, white and silver marking, dabbing the proper red where needed, and the plastic dome cover… even has painted features as well. It makes the hot poppy awesomeness without the need of oil and there is a part in the dome that comes out so you can properly scoop and measure how much kernally cornness you want.

This guy can be found on Amazon.com, thinkgeek.com and other places like gamestop. He is running in the $40 dollar range, more or less depending on where you shop which isn’t to bad if you ask me. Now this little guy is super super cute, but when I look at him I don’t exactly see R2…. Does anyone else see Tom Servo from Mystery Science Theater 3000? ^_^

Are The Weeping Angels Making A Return In Doctor Who ?

As we know, most sets are recycled when making TV shows. Doctor Who does this as well, but it’s still fun to know that they are recycling a loved set from the David Tennant era in the new episodes with Peter Capaldi. And the set to be named is that of the episode Blink where we meet the scary as all heck Weeping Angels for the first time. And these guys gave me nightmares… I’m so not kidding.

FATLE4XHLZRSWMK.MEDIUM

The set is in Newport and there are pictures on cultbox that are proof of the stars on location. Though this set has been used not only in Doctor Who but in Torchwood as well, it’s still fun to know its being recycled again. I know I will now be inspecting the episodes more closely to see if I can spot something familiar in the backgrounds.

Not sure if you all think this is newsworthy, but I found it interesting for sure. Just something to keep us excitedly waiting for the new season to start….. this spring…. So long to wait… 0.o

Stan Lee’s New Creation – Nitron

stan-lee-immagine

The man has done it again! Stan Lee has created another super-being for the world to love, and his name is Nitron. This new character is from an intelligent alien race that secretly lives among the humans of Earth. The franchise will come complete with film, TV and digital life. Plus there will be comics, (*EEEEK* ) that will be released this January as a 6 volume series with more issues to follow monthly.

Stan Lee has partnered up with Keya Morgan and Michael Benaroya on the new life of Nitron. The comic book will be the source of the material for the movie, as it should be, and has secured a whopping $50 million in funding to finance the development and production.  (ok, is anyone else’s heart pounding right now???)

Stan Lee, seriously this man is a god. I mean wow. Having created all that he has, from X-Men, Avengers, all the Marvel comics, and so much more, he now decided to create a new life for us to fawn over! Wow, this man never seizes to amaze me… I mean, he still is doing so much at his age and still places his remaining time into creating a new hero. My goodness, when does he sleep? Well, that is why we respect one as amazing as Stan Lee, he not only is the creator of the heroes we all aspired to be when we were growing up, but he is one. The Man is a hero to all of us in some way, and I know I personally hope to still be taking the world by storm when I am 93 years old.  ^_^

Alien Coloring Books for Adults!!!!

According to geekrant, there will be coloring books for adults, and yes, it’s Alien. Sigourney “Step Away From Her You Bitch” Weaver Alien coloring books! Can I get a heck yeah ladies and gentlemen?!? And it’s they’re specially designed adult coloring books; you know, the ones that are all geometrical and designed to help you relax while you color…. Yeah that kind, but so much awesomeness now with Aliens!!! The book is said to be 80 pages of coloring fun and should be available in May 2017, around the time of the new movie Alien: Covenant, but no real relation between the two except for them both being a part of the Alien franchise. Below is a picture of the cover, and as you can see, it has the swirly and designs of other adult coloring books, but with the fantastic twist.

I’m sure this one will be a hot seller, even if you are not into the whole coloring for adults thing that seems to be super popular right now, (I’m not one who owns these though I am sure that sometimes, I may need something like this lol) Can’t wait to see what other pictures will be inside. ^_^

A Look At The Possible Villains In Jessica Jones Season 2

marvels-jessica-jones

**WARNING** THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS! 🙂

We watched tentatively when Jessica Jones snapped the neck of Kilgrave (played by a beloved icon, David Tennant…trust me, I had a hard time watching this part), ridding Miss Jones of the evil that was haunting her in the season finale. So I guess they decided to not have him unsnap his own neck to return as the villain in season two. Darn. But it sound like the possibilities for the next season will be fantastic for those who follow the comic book world.

jessica-jones-zebediah-killgrave

We remember the policeman (Wil Traval) who had a back story and some relationship with Jessica in the first season… Well, he may become the character of Nuke, the old red white and blue faced man from the comics. And yes my friends, he is the ID to our patriotic power man Captain America. In the second season there would appear to be something not ‘right’ about him. Then later he pretty much snaps and goes around enforcing his own brand of justice to whatever extent he deems necessary.

nukejessicajoneswiltraval-160909-640x320

The other possibility is that Trish Walker may transform in to Hellcat. Yes that Trish, the one she told she loved right before destroying the first foe in season one finale. Which facing her beloved buddy may be the anguish needed to make season two as wonderful as season one. Though I realize that the role of Hellcat is supposed to go to a woman by the name of Patsy Walker in the Marvel universe who attempts to help the Avengers, she and Nuke are Netflix versions of the Marvel comic book fiends and could bring in wonderful complications for our super strength heroine. Though they may have big feet to fill, since Tennant brought so much creepiness to the first villain Kilgrave.

jessica-jones-rachael-taylor-hellcat

There is even rumors that both these villains may be in season two. Well that could be interesting, though I hope it wont appear to feel rushed at some point since we are now focusing on two instead of one. You know what I mean, when they place two villains in, the first seems to go out quick and the conflict is kind of a let down, but still gives a big climax to the second one. Though the second one is great, I hate feeling like they could have done more for the first one. Regardless, knowing there will be a season two of Jessica Jones is wonderful, and whoever is the opposing menace to our leading lady will sure bring us to the edge of our seats again I am sure. ^_^

Jason Mamoa To Star In The Crow Remake… Whaaaaaa?

NEq26tDneQCYtx_1_b

I loooooooooved the original Crow movie. I watched it all the time, got to the point to where I knew each line by heart: “it can’t rain all the time,” or “onions make you fart, big time,” “does the corpse have a familiar face?” and my fav, “Mother is the word for god on the hearts and lips of all children”… yeah, I loved it… loooooved it. But of course, as in true Hollywood fashion, (because it seems they have run out of ideas) they are remaking yet another movie, this time The Crow. Personally I think they should just make a Crow movie, like they did a couple times, such as City of Angels and Salvation. But that would not be in Hollywood tradition, so whatever. (They better do it justice, that’s all I’m saying)

The-Crow_Alternate2.png

Their leading guy who is in talks to play the Crow is our most recent Aquaman, Jason Momoa. I think this could work. He definitely has the hair, and his big intimidating figure could fit for our dark death-dealer. Jason showed his awesome acting abilities as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, then showed us his underwater feats as Aquaman in The Dawn of Justice, and now may be adding another notch to his acting belt by playing the Crow in the remake of the 1994 movie.

Though the excitement is there for another Crow movie, even if it’s a remake of the original, are they not aware of the curse that seems to happen with the Crow titles? Now we all know about the Brandon Lee, how he was shot and killed while filming, almost costing the movie its premier… And what about the TV show, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, where there was another accidental death when an unexpected explosion killed stuntman Marc Akerstream, as well as other mishaps during the making of the other Crow movies is the Dragon King ready to face these challenges? Let alone can he fill the already super sized shoes that the late great Brandon Lee did once before?

It sounds like they are doing the same story as before, but hitting closer to the comics than the original movie did, so I guess there may be something new in there besides the faces, but I’m afraid the stout Aquaman may be too muscular to play the white faced slender Crow. But who knows, this is only rumors for now, it may change again. But hopefully, whatever they do, they rock it, because this girl right here will not take less than the best for the Crow movies. ^_^

Deadpool 2 Wants Kyle Chandler And Mackenzie Davis As Cable And Domino

deadpool-01

The fact that the biggest movie of the year to have a sequel is wonderful to say the least. And I’m sure there are many who want to be a big part of the action of production this next round. But it seems that the producer and Ryan Reynolds have their eyes on two specific people to play the role of the next two X-Men to appear in the movie: Kyle Chandler and Mackenzie Davis. You may know Kyle Chandler from his roles in Bloodline and Friday Night Lights. And it seems that the producer deems him fit to play the role of our time-traveling mutant who has come to change the future, and the lady of  his heart is someone you may know from the TV series Halt and Catch Fire.

Quick back ground of the characters in case you are not familiar. Cable is the offspring of both Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor (a clone of Jean Grey) who can see into the future and travel through time trying to fix it (wish I could do this sometimes lol). And Domino is his on-again-off-again love interest who is excited and scared of what the Cable can do for the future. Though he was born in the present, Cable was sent to the future for some super training so he can travel in time to prevent the apocalyptic future from happening.  Cable was part of the Cable and Deadpool comics that were introduced in 2004 and ended after issue #50. But they first crossed paths when the red spandex wearing trouble-starter was sent to kill him in issue #98 of the New Mutants series.

This new light of rumor seems to be pretty promising. I’m sure that both the small TV stars will make a big splash in the movie, should they choose to accept this fine nomination. And for the rest of us who are anxiously waiting for the next Deadpool movie, maybe, if you haven’t already, we should be out there checking out the Cable and Deadpool comics to so we are ready for the sequel to our MARVELous Merc with the Mouth. ^_^

Robert De Niro AND Jullian Moore TV SHOW!!! *EEEK*

It used to be rare if we saw a big star on TV shows back in the day. If we did it would be a quick cameo or even one star not so big in the business, but big enough to make us go “oooooh.” Today, however, it seems that TV networks are grabbing the big guys from the screen and placing them in TV shows.

Premium cable networks are normally ones who will have the big guys on. I mean, there have been normal networks that may have had big guys from the past, like CSI or what have you, but HBO has True Detective starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and more recently Sharp Objects with Amy Adams, while Netflix grabbed Maniac with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. But it seems we may have a show to be aired on the smaller networks have a couple well-known names in Hollywood. Huge icons such as Robert De Niro and Jullianne Moore! (De Niro is such a stud!!) Though it may not have a network yet, it appears to be highly sought after and has had many offers.

robert-de-niro-julianne-moore-tv.jpg

The person behind the show is named David O. Russell (thank you David), who directed Heavyweights. And there seems to not be much as far as the plot goes for this TV series. One site called deadline.com heard it’s supposed to be another crime/cop thriller set in the 1990s. (Could be cool, but I’m kind of done with the cop dramas, they seem to be everywhere…)  But still it’s not for sure what the show will be about, and production won’t start until the director is back from vaycay. (Poor guy must be getting hounded for offers while he is trying to relax lol.)

Well whatever the show is, cop drama or not, I will definitely be checking this bad boy out. I am a huge De Niro fan, loving all he has done (even Bad Grandpa though not one of my favs) and can’t wait to watch him each week on TV. This man is a stuuuuuuuuuud as before mentioned and will kill it in the TV series I’m sure, plus paired up with Ms Moore, dear goodness, I hope the networks can handle this much Hollywood stardom. ^_^
