Arthur Duvall wants to be a wizard in the next Fantastic Beast movie

And the ladies in the fan world have melted…..Arthur Duvall has put it out there that he would like to try his hand in the JK Rolling wizard world. But not just any wizard, Dumbledore!

“Absolutely, I’m up for it. Do you know what? I’ve made this pact with myself that when I hit a certain age; I’m only going to play wizards. I want to be that guy. So whether its 10 years down the line or when I grow a salt and pepper beard, I would be totally happy just playing wizards for the rest of my life. But yeah, if they came knocking saying ‘we really want you to play Dumbledore,’ I’d definitely consider it”

I think this is a wonderful idea. I sure hope to see him in the next fantastic beasts movie. Being that they announced that there would be 5 movies in total for the series, this could give Arthur plenty to do for some time in between or during sets of the LoT series. From our beloved companion to leader of heroes, and now possible wizard…. Goodness, what can’t Arthur do? ^_^

‘Love In A Time Of Dick Pics’ Is A Thing

sony

Ya, you read that right, Love in a time of Dick Picks is a thing. It’s a movie that Sony is developing centered on society today and the fact that sexting is a part of our lives. But don’t think its like some sort of porn, “Its a romantic comedy about the illusion of choice and just how hard it is to find the right person in a sea of options that range from polite to lewd to nude.”

The idea of this movie is silly, which may be a bit sad to say that they are right on with society now a day. Online dating and hook-ups through text is the way of life. I am curious to see how this movie turns out and if the title will actually stay. ^_^

Fantastic Beasts Clothing line and where to find them at Hot Topic

clothes-line1

The other day I found in the mail a brochure from one of my fav stores, Hot Topic. To my delight they have a new clothing line all inspired from the JK rolling world of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. So of course I had to venture in and check this out.

The clothes I wanted to try on were the fantastic beast line. The men had suits and the women had dresses all inspired by the Movie. They looked stunning. I drove down to the Valley River Mall where our store lies and hurried to Hot Topic. Once in the store I asked the nice clerk to help me find where they display of clothes was, which she happily helped me with and, with 4 items in my hand, made my way to the dressing room. The outfits I tried on was the Tina Goldstein pin-up dress, Symbols Skater dress, Queen Goldstein flapper dress, and a Fantastic beast logo shirt.

All the outfits fit beautifully, the cut was flattering, and material nice and light with plenty of give room so you can move comfortably… Oh and the dresses (accept for the flapper dress) had pockets! I just loved them. I was not to big on the shirt but I just find that my body type does not pull off shirts with that style of cut. But over all, the clothes were Fantastic to say the least.

The prices were a bit spendy, but that is good quality material and the designs are unique so I feel its fair. Ranging from 54-69 dollars for the dresses and about 80-dollar region for jackets. The men’s clothes ran about the same. But hey, Black Friday is this week so maybe you can find them on the website for a bit cheaper.

Now sadly I did not buy any of the dresses though I wanted to so badly, considering it’s the holidays and not time to go shopping for me. But I did make a note of which ones I loved the most and will be passing this on for any who want to know what I want for Xmas. ^_^

Supergirl’s Chris Wood teases Mon-El’s superhero suit

chirswoodmonel-postinfinitecrisis

It has been confirmed that Mon-El will be joining the cast of Supergirl, and played by Chris Wood, actor from shows like Vampire Diaries and Carrie Diaries. And in recent interviews he reveals a little to us on the design his super suit will take…

“They’re always true to the comic. They at least give a severe hat tip to the comics in terms of design, so you needn’t worry about that. They stay true like they have with Flash and Arrow and Supergirl.”

But it seems that we won’t see to much of the super suit in this season of Supergirl, Chris Wood also confirms that his character has some soul searching to do as to why he would want to be a protector of earth so the suit may not be dawned right away. Wont that be exciting though… I sure hope they give us all three heroes, Supergirl, Superman, and Mon-El, side by side all suited up and ready for action. ^_^

Elsa from Frozen gets a Harley Quinn makeover

elsa-from-disneys-frozen-gets-a-harley-quinn-makeover-in-fan-art1

“Let it go, let it go! Can’t hold it back anymore…” And it seems Miss Elsa is letting go… of her inhibitions when she removed her long blue gown and dawned a more red, and black attire. Elsa went and got herself a Harley Quinn make over.

The snow queen can definitely pull this look off my friends. She is rocking the tight black pants, red baseball style shirt and holds herself a baseball bat made of ice, (of course she would.) Her hair is double French braided with the ends being two different colors, but instead of red on one side, it looks purpler. The baseball T is ripped like Harley Quinn’s but instead of saying “daddy’s little monster” its sporting a ‘Bosslogic’ TM logo. The shirt is ripped at the bottom and it is revealed that the Queen has herself a tattoo, Disney logo tat to be exact (I didn’t know she had it in her.)

Bosslogic is the mastermind behind this and other art works like it. He has a knack for mash up art so of course he had to play with Elsa’s appearance and making her look no so innocent. I think this piece is lovely to be honest. The vibrancy of the colors in combination with the essence that is the snow queen, and a twist of Harley Quinn. This image is just lovely. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. ^_^

Doctor Who: The Ambush; William Hartnell years

doctor-who-logo

Welcome Back

We last left our friends escaping from the Dalek prison cell. Ian was in the metal suit, while the other pushed him from behind.

“OOOOOOOEEEEEOOOOOOOOO”

The heroes are wondering around the hall. Ian stops them, he has figured out how to operate the machine. He then instructs the Doctor and others to get in front so it looks like they are prisoners. Susan recognizes a room; she informs them that there is a guard Dalek at the iron door inside. They then continue on to the door. The Dalek haults them, but Ian, in his Dalek impersonating voice, inform the other Dalek that the council wishes to see them. The other Dalek does not move, but Susan hatches up an idea. She screeches out, acting like she is going to run, but the Ian Dalek catches her. The other Dalek pushes his plunger into her back while Ian has her in the front. The two Daleks then heard the heroes into the room that was guarded before. The one Dalek offers assistance to the upper floor with the prisoners, but Ian Dalek declines. Once the door closes and the other Dalek is out, they lock the door. Then try to help Ian out of the Dalek metal suit.

Outside the door, the Dalek is calling through an intercom that he just helped the prisoners to the vault room and lift. The Dalek from the other side of the intercom notifies the one that there are no orders to move the prisoners. The first Dalek tries to open the door, but realizes that the door is locked, he then sounds an alarm.

In the lift, the heroes hear the alarm. They try harder to remove the tin head from Ian, but are unsuccessful. Susan runs to the door to listen, but realizes that the door is red hot. They also notice that they can’t move Ian, the floor has been magnetized. Ian insists that they leave without him. Barbara does not like this plan and neither does Susan. They try harder to get him out. But the Doctor and Ian insist that they leave quickly, and Ian stay behind. The door is being melted by the Daleks on the other side. The Doctor and ladies rush to the lift. Ian is still inside the Dalek suit, struggling with the helmet. He pushes and pushes. The Daleks on the other side of the door are almost through

The Doctor, Susan and Barbara are going up the lift. Barbara asks how long till the Daleks reach Ian. The Doctor is unsure. Susan becomes hysterical about the idea of leaving Ian.

The door the Daleks are burning through is just about open,

The lift reaches to top, the Doctor and the ladies exit.

The door is melted though. It crashes down and the Daleks enter. They then shoot a lazar at the imposter Dalek, the machine crumbles apart. They realize that the tin can is empty. “Lock the lift the emergency switch, bring it down.’ But the lift continues rising.

“Hurry Ian, come on!” Calls Barbara down the shaft. “Alright I’m coming.” Calls back Ian. The heroes anxiously wait. Suddenly the lift starts to head back down, Ian scurries out the doors just before it’s to late. “They had the door just about cut through when I got out,” he says with a smile, knowing he beat the clock. “We must try to find a way out of this room.” The Doctor says, they look to a window and see daylight. They are surprised. “Yes, but where exactly are we?” Asks Ian. “We are right on top of the buildings.” The Doctor notices. He points out where the jungle is. Barbara notices there is someone out at the gates of the city. Susan panics “The Sows, they have come for the supplies.” “Walking in to an ambush!” The Doctor announces.

There are three Daleks waiting at the lift, one Dalek instructs the others, “Make no attempt to capture them, they are to be exterminated, understand? Exterminate”’ the other respond their understanding. The one Dalek goes up a lift

The heroes are yelling and banging on the window, trying to get the Sows attention. It’s no use though, they cannot be heard. They figure there has to be another way out. There is another door on the wall, but they are unable to wave it open. They then try to use force. Barbara notices that the lift is coming back up. The others go and see while the Doctor continues to try and open the door. Ian walks over to a large stone looking object; he has an idea to place this in front of the lift opening. He calls for the girls to give him help. They begin to move the big rock, grunting at its weight. “It’s open, I’ve done it!” The Doctor calls to the others, having opened the door just enough for an escape. Ian tells the Doctor they will be there in a minute, they are trying to stop the Dalek from entering. They get the bolder to the opening, and then push it down the shaft. It falls down onto the lift with a big crash, causing the building to shake. The heroes squeeze through the small opening in the door.

Mean while back at the gate, the Sows are walking through cautiously. They are suspicious of the Daleks. Genisis still has high hopes that the Daleks are friendly. He tries to console his friend, but Aladon is not on the same wavelength as his leader. Genisis then continues on that the Daleks have food and they need it, which are the facts. Aladon insists that he be the one to talk with the Daleks, but Genisis declines this. He informs his friend that they need to remove the fear, for this brings on hatred and war. Genisis feels that he will speak to the Daleks peacefully, and will show that he is unarmed. Aladon is still not convinced the Daleks want peace.

The Daleks are at the gates, waiting for the Sows, they hide back in wholes

The heroes are running through the corridors, trying to find a way out. They realize they have found the gate about 50 ft away. They check to make sure that there are no Daleks in site. Ian insists that they go to the TARDIS but Susan declines. Demanding that they have to help the Sows. “We can’t let them walk into a trap!” She exclaims. “The Sows are no concern of ours,” states the Doctor, (wow he is a brat) “We cannot jeopardize our lives and get in to the affairs that is not our business.” “Of course its our business,” Barbara explains “the Sows gave us the anti radiation drugs, and without that we would be dead.” Ian agrees with Barbara but also sees the Doctor’s point. He tells the others to get back to the ship and he will stay behind to warn the Sows. Susan declines this, insisting that they are all in this together, but Ian wont have it. Barbara also sides with Ian’s plan, trying to explain to Susan that he will be better off on his own than with the others slowing him down. The heroes then run off, again leaving Ian behind.

The Daleks wait for the Sows, an alarm sounds and they hide back. The Sows approach slowly

Ian is searching for a way to the gates, careful so not to be noticed

The Sows move slowly closer to the supplies in view, and watch for the Daleks. Genisis is not so sure of the conditions anymore. He calls out to the Daleks. Ian sees the leader form the doorway. Genisis, making a speech on how they can live together, and grow in peace, is unaware of the danger leering in the dark. The Daleks slowly come out of hiding. Ian observes the scene. Then one of the Sows makes a move to the food; Ian jumps out yelling, “No! It’s a trap! Get out of here! RUN!’

The Dalek yells and shoot the leader, Genisis falls to the ground. Ian jumps back behind the wall as another Dalek shoots at him (dear god the effects of the rays on the wall. The whole screen just jumps around in black and white.) Ian runs off one direction. The Sows in another, Aladon is hiding against a wall. The leader lay sprawled out in the middle of the supplies the Sows had asked for.

Ian runs through a door, and into Aladon “Who are you?’ Ian asks startled as Aladon grabs him by the arm. Aladon introduces himself and realizes that Ian was the one who warned him. Aladon wonders why the Daleks attacked. Ian urgently informs Aladon that he must get the others away from the town.

The Sows are waiting for the other tribe members to return. The Doctor is talking with one of the females; they are conversing about the solar system they live in. The Doctor is fascinated. After looking at the planet lay out, he feels he may figure out how to get them back home. The last of the survivors show up. They had tried to go back for Genisis, but it was hopeless. Some others lost their lives to on the rescue mission. The Sows have to figure out what to do next. Aladon now has to be the next leader, which he still is bewildered as to why they killed Genisis. Ian informs him that the Daleks act without any feeling or reason. The Daleks act on dislike for those not like them (prejudice much). Ian then advises that they must teach the Daleks to respect the Sows. “What would you do if the Daleks left the city, came her to attack you?” Ian asks. “We would move away.” responds Aladon. “You would simply run away?” Barbara asks in disbelief. Aladon does not know how to respond. Ian urges that they cannot keep running. Sooner or later they will be destroyed. But Aladon states that they could not fight the Daleks. Barbara is bewildered at the passiveness the sows possess. She wonders if this is a belief. The Doctor approaches Ian and Barbara, showing them the picture he has in his hand. The picture is of the first ancestors of the Sows. He then tells them the story of their history. How there was a war, most the Sows died and others mutated. But in the case of the Sows, mutation came in full circle to what they see today. The picture in his had has the Sows looking more squared up, and in uniform (which I don’t see the big change honestly, the picture looks of a drawing more than camera taken) But according to the Doctor, the Daleks never did complete mutation, instead went into the machines. There is also an image of the original Daleks, who were called Darls then. (I think that what they said). Ian holds the image, with a look of disgust on his face, while the doctor continues on with his history lesson. Barbara notices that in the picture of the Sows, the man is holding a sword. The Doctor explains that they were warriors once. She finds this fascinating. Susan comes to announce that one of the fallen Sow is feeling better. The Doctor delights at this message, then decides that its time to head back to the ship. Susan wants to stay longer, insisting that the Sows are nice, but the Doctor declines, stating that the Daleks are not so kind. The Sows are walking by, with their deceased on their shoulders, like a burial march. The heroes watch, saddened. Ian wonders if there is any point as to reminding the Sows of who they used to be. The Doctor enquires as to Ians remark. Barbara explains that the Sows are not so inclined as to engage in combat with the Daleks. They have been trying to convince them to stand up against the Daleks. The Doctor states that it’s not their fate that rests with the Sows, this is their problem and should leave well enough alone. He insists that they head out. Ian agrees with the Doctor, and Barbara feels they should go too. The Doctor asks Ian for the fluid thing. Ian searches his pockets and looks at the Doctor, “Come on now, you know I cant start the ship without it.” Starts the Doctor, but Ian seems to have lost the piece… He remembers that the Daleks took it from him when they searched him. It’s still in the city.

Steve Carell In Talks To Join Minecraft Movie

minecraft-hero-df1112867f04

Why am I not surprised that there is a Minecraft movie on the way. This game has such a huge fan base that it seems only logical for there to be a movie right?

Honestly I can’t think of a better actor to join this movie than Steve Carell. Known for his roles in Evan all Mighty, The Office, and Crazy Stupid Love, his type of humor and acting style may be perfect for a blockhead role. The film is set to be released in 2019, and will be directed by Rob McElhenney.

The Minecraft franchise is gigantic, with followers from all ages, (my kids and I play this together.) And I am sure that once this movie comes out, there will be quite the line at the ticket offices. To bad its going to be another 2 years before its comes out. ^_^

Nerdy Craft Corner with Brenda: TARDIS night light

Are you afraid of the dark? Do you love Doctor Who? Ya, me to. So here is the opportunity to have the Doctor help you with your nighttime fear, lets build a TARDIS nightlight.

Below is a video done by a man named James Chats, who recently (according to the video that was published just over a year ago) found a new love in the ways of the Doctor. This video is pretty descriptive and easy to follow for the most part. There is some rescaling of the measurements should you go the same route as him and find an exact blue print of a life sized TARDIS (which you can then try to build at another time).

The things you will need are:

Exacto knife

Hot glue

Elmers regular glue

Tardis blue print with actual dimensions

Foam board

light of your choice

Ruler and protractor

Sharpie

Blue and white paint

Tin foil

Plastic you can cut easily

Extra paper (colored would be nice)

And some patience

Different Comic Con worlds

Now, being that I am just recovering from the whirl wind that is a Comic Con weekend, I thought it would be nice to write about the different types of comic cons from small ones, like that of my home town, to the bigger ones like Seattle or San Diego Con.

I figure I may start in order, from smallest to largest… I know I have not been to the bigger ones and do not travel outside much from the near by states, but I am guessing that the three I will compare will pretty much sum up Con’s around the world.

Small but satisfying:

eucon

This weekend was the Eucon, which is what we call the Eugene Comic Con here in Oregon. This baby here is small of course, and actually fairly new. Only a couple years old to be exact, debuting in November of 2015. The merchandise was great and the celebs were awesome nonetheless. (Last year we got Winston aka Ernie Hudson from the ghost busters and Bobby aka Jim Beaver from Supernatural!) The wonderful part is that its only 30$ for a weekend pass!! Yes dirt-cheap compared to others for sure. But the prices of the merchandise inside are still wallet robbery, so that’s where the rest of your bank account goes. The venue is smaller so it does not take long before you have seen everything and pretty much can be done in one day, but the guests don’t all come in one day so if you want them, you need to make it a weekend pass. This last Con had Friday and Saturday with four celebs, and Sunday was the only day you could see the fifth one. (David Anders, which I have pictures with!!) And the panels only get one room, which is a good thing I think, this way you don’t have the agony of trying to decide which panels to choose from, only one panel at a time. (YAY)

The Middle Class:

wizardworld

This part refers to those bigger but not quite SDCC size Con’s like the ones here in Portland, known as a Wizard World Comic Con. These are the ones you are most likely to see JDF (Jason David Frank) at. Bigger and better on the inside, more merchandise and more panels, bigger Celebs (Last year we had Matt Smith, Alex Kingston, and Arthur Darvill!!) and soooo much more to see. For one, there is more clothing merchandise, where as the Eucon, they had maybe two booths that had shirts, and only unisex shirts for that matter. The Wizard World con has a HUGE booth that not only supplies shirts, but sweaters, baby onsies, and so on. The artistry/comic book designers have a whole half of the convention unlike Eucon, which gave them a third of it, and there are lots of food carts plus a few alcohol additives should this be desired. They have interactive panels where you can either win stuff or make crafts, which are super fun, and dance parties at night. I completely loooove going to wizard world, and never miss it if possible. I plan on going again this February for sure.

THE BIG DADDIES:

emeraldcitysdcc

Ok this is the dream Cons, the one you sell your soul for. The ones where more-popular names, who cost you about $500+ bucks to meet, subside…. This is the Seattle Emerald City Con or the SDCC… now before I go on, I get it that the SDCC is by far bigger than Emerald City, but Seattle is the one that is pretty close to awesomeness that is SDCC.   This kind takes a whole weekend or even a week to get everything done. More merchandise and more to take part of, the Celebs have you breathless (this year we have Carrie Fisher, voices of the Animaniacs, Robert England aka Fred Crueger himself, and many, many more) and are the ones where they announce new up coming TV, movies, or comics books. Your bank account better have more than $1000 dollars extra to spend because chances are, you will be throwing out that kind of doe while here. And be sure to take your anti-anxiety medications because honey, the overload is great. Now I personally get the biggest tickle-thrill when going to Wizard World, so I can’t imagine how I will be when I get to finally attend the Emerald City Con or even better yet, the SDCC… I am sure I will faint at the entrance once arriving,,, yup I will …

So there you have it,, the different sizes of cons out there. Now I know there are many different types of Cons, but this is just a rough idea of what to expect in the small to large cons out there. ^_^

(extra note, Carrie Fisher will be at Wizard World too this year, EEEEEEEEEEEK!!)

90 second recap of all Harry Potter movies done out of Legos

The Harry Potter world fan base is almost like a cult following, people all over, and of different ages, love this fantastic family movie. Some love this so much they have decided to bring us a recap of all the films in a 90 second Lego short film.

Directed, written and animated by Kevin Ulrich, this wonderfully done piece can be found on Youtube and contains all the best moments of Harry Potter with the twist of lego humor. Starting from the beginning when Hagard tells Harry he is a wizard and blowing the mean family away, to when Harry’s son is leaving for Hogwarts and asks dad, what if he is a slitherine, then Harry responds with “well son, then they will make a screen play out of it.”

I hope you all enjoy this short film as much as I did. Let me know if you think they captured the essence of the Harry Potter films. ^_^
