Damien SN1 EP3 – ‘The Deliverer’

damien

Here’s a quick recap from episode 2

Last week when we left Damien he was taken down to a room in Rutledge’s house where everything from his childhood was displayed and at front and center is Damien’s red trike that was used to kill his mother, Damien is starting to put all the pieces together.

Now it’s time for the latest episode!

Detective Shay is starting to piece the puzzle together and believes Damien is a crucial part of the puzzle, as he can be connected to the death of the professor and the taxi accident. Damien and Ann are talking about his mother and he doesn’t understand why he would kill want to kill her but Ann ensures him that he didn’t try to kill his mother. Damien’s starting to remember bits from his childhood that he previously couldn’t remember and he is learning just how well Ann knows him, she has watched and protected him from a far for a very long time.

Ann tells Damien that he will soon realize that he is the Anti-Christ and he is being groomed for a war of biblical proportions, and Ann has been in the background for every step, she is part of a larger collective who are there to protect him as he grows. Kelly’s sister Simone goes to see their prist and shows him Kelly’s notebook he tells Simone that it looks like she was doing a religious story and not to read into it, as she is walking out she see blood pouring from a religious statue, but when she grabs the prist to look there is no trace of the blood, Simone thinks there is a connection between Damien, Kelly and the Devil. Damien consults with his friend Amani about looking into Ann and finding out what she wants from him, Amani thinks it a bad idea and goes on to tell Damien that they were fired from their job and that he has a new job lined up in Kiev Damien tells Amani he is not going.
Damien has a meeting with John Lyons (Scott Wilson) who he knows from when he lived in the White House, he tells Damien that Ann terrifies him, but then we see John and Ann having a conversation, whoever this mysterious religious group is, Ann and John are most definitely in the center of it, making sure Damien stays alive and on the path of evil he is destined for. In the meeting John asks Ann how she could have let a would be assassin to nearly take Damien out, John goes on to tell Ann she to close and that another member of the group will take over guiding Damien and preparing him for the apocalyptic business. Ann is not happy with that idea but for John, Ann is done and no longer on the case, but for her nothing has changed. The man set to take over Ann in guiding Damien, thinks Ann is giving him directions to help keep Damien safe, when in actual she is manipulates him and then pretenders to be pushed by the man in front of the building.

Damien has been doing surveillance on Ann across the street, when he sees Ann fall to the ground and scream for help, he runs to her aid but doesn’t see what really happened. The man ordered to replace Ann runs away in hopes of getting as far away from Ann and Damien as he can, but that plan fails when he fall on the escalator and his tie gets stuck and literally loses his face. Damien how had been chasing the man, stops to save the life of a child that had been knock onto the tracks with a train fast approaching, this is an important moment as it makes us believe that there is in fact still a genuine decent side to our potential Anti-Christ. After the escalator incident John quickly learns that taking Ann off the case wasn’t and option and he now knows where he stands with Ann. Looks like he gets it now, you would be pretty stupid to mess with her again.
Detective Shay is obsessing over these cases when rather unexpectedly, evil forces come into play and the Detective is attacked by one of the watchdogs that we continue to see watching over Damien, the Detective survives the attack by putting a bullet in the dog, if he hadn’t of had his weapon he wouldn’t have survived the attack that’s for sure, you can see he’s concerned and that what he just experienced isn’t in the realm of normalcy. Damien’s head is spinning with information and unanswered questions, He answers a knock at the door and its Ann baring sushi. They continue to talk about the Anti-Christ and Damien is not convinced at what Ann has to say, before she leaves she re carves 666 on her arm before she leaves Damien tells her of his birth mark, and it would be an understatement to say Ann was excited about the birthmark.

Madonna’s Still A Rebel At Heart

rebel

In the last week Madonna has been getting a lot of news publicity here in Australia, but its not ‘good’ publicity. Madonna is down under for her ‘Rebel Heart Tour’ which kicked of in Melbourne on 12th March 2016, Madonna’s recent shows have been surrounded in controversy after the singer turned up to several of her shows late and even, reportedly, under the influence of alcohol. The latest controversy happened here in Brisbane on Thursday night (17th March 16) when a young fan Josephine Georgiou was invited on stage, Madonna then tells the crowd She’s the kind of girl you just want to slap… on the a*s.” The Material Girl then pulled Josephine’s top down – exposing her left breast to thousands of shocked fans. As Josephine quickly pulls up her strapless top, Madonna apologises, saying: “Oh s**t. I am so sorry, sexual harassment. You can do the same to me.”

Many have called it sexual harassment and have called for legal action, but Josephine insists she has no intention of launching legal action against the 57-year-old singer, telling the Australian Courier-Mail newspaper: “Seriously, why would I sue Madonna for the best moment of my life?” Josephine goes on to say “Only I get to decide if I’m humiliated or not. Why would people assume I am humiliated by my own breast, nipple or body?” she insisted. “It was the best night. She was calling me a Victoria’s Secret model the whole time I was on stage, which is so flattering.

There has been alot of mixed reviews from Madonna’s Australian fans some were disgusted that she kept them waiting for 3 hours, but others said they absolutely loved the concert and she was worth waiting for.

The Rebel Heart Tour is due to wrap up in Sydney on the 20th March 2016.

Is The TV Show Lucifer ‘As Hot As Hell?’

lucifer

I stumbled across Lucifer on the American streaming service I’m subscribed to Hulu. It aired on the 25th Jan 2016 and it to like Damien had me intrigued and a little hook after the first episode. Its an American fantasy police procedural comedy-drama series.
The series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar, ‘who is bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell and resigns his throne and abandones his kingdom for the beauty of Los Angeles, where Lucifer gets his kicks from helping the LAPD punish criminals.’

So to get you up to speed here is a quick summary of the first 7 episodes

SN1 EP1 – ‘Pilot’

Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the retired angel of Hell, owns a high end night club in Los Angeles. When the pop star her tries to help is murdered in front of him by a drug dealer, he uses his powers of persuasion to assist Detective Decker (Lauren German) in apprehension the true culprit behind the murder. All the while, he must deal with his brother angel (D. B. Woodside) who is putting pressure on him from their ‘father’ to return to running Hell. Now I’m not normally attracted to men but Lucifer Morningstar with that english accent, i have to admit he’s a bit sexy guys and gals!

If your still with us, I’m guessing you’re wanting more so on to episode 2

SN1 EP2 – ‘Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil’

Lucifer and Detective Decker work together again to solve a homicide, this time that of a movie star’s son who was killed by an overeager paparazzo who frequently created volatile situationsin order to get the ‘first scoop’ on the story. We are now starting to see a chemistry between Lucifer and Detective Decker, but were are also seeing jealousy from Lucifer’s confidante and devoted ally Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt). She is the war leader of the Lilim, a race descended from Lilith, she acts as the bartender at Lucifer’s club.

SN1 EP3 – ‘The Would-Be Prince of Darkness’

When a football star whom Lucifer convinced to lose his virginity is arrested for the murder of the girl with whom he slept, Lucifer works to prove his innocence. Lucifer is becoming aware that his powers are useless on Detective Decker and that intrigues him. We now start to see him become increasingly captivated with the notion of all things ‘human’.

 SN1 EP4 – ‘Manly Whatnot’

Chloe (Detective Decker) and Lucifer investigate a missing persons case involving a girl who was involved with a pick-up artist. The investigation is complicated by Lucifer’s repeated attempts to seduce Chloe in an effort to better understand her. Meanwhile, Amenadiel (D. B. Woodside) confronts a reluctant Mazikeen about Lucifer. At Lucifer’s encouragement, Chloe shoots him in the leg. To Lucifer’s bewilderment, he feels pain and bleeds. Lucifer and Mazikeen are starting to see changes in himself the longer he stays on earth, In the pilot Lucifer is filled with bullets but doesn’t die nor does he bleed or feel the pain, it’s like he is becoming a little more human the longer he stays out of Hell.

SN1 EP5 – ‘Manly Whatnot’

Lucifer assist Chloe in a case involving an artist/high-end shoe designer who once in a street gang. In doing so, Lucifer knowingly puts himself in danger, finding it exciting to test mortality. He and Chloe are ultimately rescued from a hostile situation by Mazikeen. Meanwhile, Amenadiel surprises Dr. Martin (Rachael Harris) by showing up at her office after hours, stating he is a fellow psychotherapist who has moved into the office next door. The two agree to have drinks and openly discuss patients.

SN1 EP6 – ‘Favorite Son’

When a warehouse is robbed and the security guard murdered; Well it turns out that the stolen container belongs to Lucifer. He and Decker then work to find the culprit, which Lucifer sees as protecting his status in the city. Meanwhile, Lucifer continues to struggle with his identity, and Amenadiel continues to try to use Dr. Martin to get to Lucifer. The stolen shipment contained Lucifer’s wings, and in the wrong hands they are extremely dangerous.

SN1 EP7 – ‘Favorite Son’

Lucifer continues to search for his wing, and turns to Amenadiel for help after his search is fruitless. Chole askes her ex-husband Dan (Kevin Alejandro) for his help investigating the Palmetto casevin the hopes that she can find something to confirm her accusations against the cop who is about to die. Lucifer finally finds his wings and once they are in his possession, he burns them to anger his brother Amenadiel and in doing so it halts his own return to his former throne as the King of Hell. He is really enjoying his new life on earth and is surprisingly skilled at investigating, that he is now a consultant for the LAPD and he is enjoying punishing criminals.

I’m really enjoying this series, its something a little different and so far it’s not predictable and keeps giving me little testers to keep me hooked and watching it each week. I recommend it if you’re after something refreshingly diffrent. Given that I have done 7 episodes at one I will rate the 7 episodes as a whole.

Boybands Meet Zombies In ‘Dead 7’

dead7

Who remember boy band’s Backstreet Boys and NSync? For those of you that dont remember here is a little reminder.
The Backstreet Boys formed in 1993 and consisted of 5 members, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, and A.J. McLean. Their hits include, ‘I Want It That Way’, ‘Everybody’ and ‘As Long As You Love Me’.
NSYNC formed in 1995 and the band consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and pased member Chris Kirkpatrick. Their hits inclued, ‘Bye Bye Bye’, ‘This I Promise You’ and ‘Tearing Up My Heart’.

Now the two bands have come together for a project this year but it has nothing to do with an album collaboration, I’ll give you a little hint it involves zombies and the guns….. The boys have come together to make a movie!  The movie is ‘Dead 7’ and is directed by Danny Roew and written by Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) and produced by David Michael Latt and David Rimawi, who produced the original Sharknado and Syfy’s Z Nation . Members from 98 Degrees, O-Town, All-4-One, Everclear and No Authority will also feature in the film.

The cast include Nick Carter (BB), A.J. McLean (BB), Joey Fatone (NSYNC), Howie Dorough (BB), Jeff Timmons (98Degrees), Jon Secada (Singer Songwriter), Art Alexakis (Everclear), Delious (All-4-One), Tommy McCarthy ( No Authority) and rounding out the cast is Carrie Keagan, Debra Wilson, Dylan Vox, Gerardo Mejia and Chloe Lattanzi.

Dead 7 an American post-apocalyptic Western that follows a group of gunslingers as they look to rid a small town of a zombie plague. Carter revealed the he is going to be “a good guy that helps save the day” while hinting it will be “musically based.”
Dead 7 is an original movie for Syfy and is set to air on April 1st 2016 on the Syfy channel.

I wont be turning in, but if you’re into zombies and boy bands then this might just be up your ally.

A hooded man enters a church and goes into the confessional booth, kneeling the man knocks on the closed screen the priest slides open the screen and says he’s here and hands the hooded man a dagger with a carved handle, when the man starts to pray the priest starts to fit and dies. It’s the day of Kelly’s fureral and Damien reconnect with old mates, but he is clearly distracted and notices a man hanging around the church but when he looks for him he is gone. While Kelly’s sister Simone (Megalyn Echikunwoke) speaks of her sister, Damien is sweating, his breating laboured and seeing blood run from Jesus’s feet, hands and head then a crow hits the stained glass window, Damien runs out of the church.

damien3.jpg

Damien spends the night walking around the city taking photos when the hooded man that was at the church attacks him with a dagger, but he ends cut in half when a taxi veers off the road and crushes him between the taxi and a dumpster. Detective James Shay (David Meunier) doesn’t buy Damien’s story that it was an accident, and becomes even more suspicious when he learns that Damien’s friend Kelly died in an accident a few days earlier, a mysterious benefactor tell the Detective Shay she is Damien’s council and he has been though an ordeal and needs rest.

Bates Motel SN4 EP2 – ‘Goodnight Mother’

bates1

Wow what an episode and it just keeps getting better and better each episode don’t  you agree? Let’s get down to business.

In this episode we see Norman (Freddie Highmore) start to take control from Norma (Vera Farmiga) they are losing trust in each and both suspect one an another of a horrible deed.  Emma’s father (Andrew Howard) pretty much tells Dylan (Max Thieriot) that what he dose for a living is not good enough for his beloved daughter, he tells Dylan that he believes,  he is better then that and he needs to remember the Emma (Oliva Cooke) is no longer a dying girl, she can do something with her life now, she has had her transplant. Emma gets taken off the respirator and struggles to breath on her own and starts gasping with a panicked look as her doctor calms her and she starts to breath,  talk  about on the edge of your seat… I swear I nearly passed out because I was holding my breath.

bates3

After the chat with Emma’s Dad and seeing her take her first breath Dylan starts to contemplates his future with Emma but you can clearly see the chemistry between them, meanwhile Norma is starting to come to terms with the fact Norman is becoming dangrous. Remember in episode 1 Norma askes Alex Remero (Nestor Carbonell) to marry her for insurance in order to get Norman into the Pineview Institute. Worried Norman is  dangrous Remero takes the money out that he hide in his fireplace and heads to Pineview Institute to get Norman committed when asked if he was a relative he tells Mrs Monore he is marrying Norman’s mother!

bates2

Alex calls Norma and tells her he will marry her and Norman will be addmitted to Pineview but Norman has to sign the paperwork which has been faxed to the Motel, Norman is checking a family in when the fax comes through and he is not happy. Norma tries to get him to sign the papers and he starts to flipping out,  Norma scared goes and hides to call Alex for help. Alex makes his way through the house and takes Norman into custody and leads him down to the patrol car, with Norma running after them crying and pleading with Norman to sign the paperwork as she promises him its a good place that will help him, its nothing like the county hospital he was first taken too, he finally signs the paperwork before he’s put in the patrol car and headed to Pineview Institute.

This episode was a cracker and we are starting to see the dynamics between Norma and Norman change, he is becoming the dominant one and it seems Norma is starting to lose her hold over him. I can’t wait for what episode 3 brings! Bates Motel definitely leaves me wanting more every episode, how about you? Let me know your thoughts on this episode.

On This Day 17th March St Patrick’s Day

17th

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Have a great and safe day all!

Its that time again friends, so lets take a stroll down memory lane and see what happed inmusic industry today.

Our first stop on memory lane is at

1957 and it was the year The King of Rock’n’Roll Elvis Presley brought the Graceland mansion from Mrs Ruth Brown-Moore for $102,500 USD. (For my English friends out there it’s £60,295) That was so much money back then but compared to now he picked it up cheap! The 23 room, 10,000 square foot home, on 13.8 acres would be expanded to 17,552 square feet of living space before the king moved in a few weeks later.

Our second stop is at 1967 where The Beatles were working at Abby Road studios in London, they finished the recording of ‘She’s Leaving Home’ after adding backing vocals to the track. Harpest Shelia Bromberg who was part of the string section on the track thus making her the first women to play on a Beatles recording.

Our third stop is in 1968 and is just a quick stop. The Bee Gees made their US television debut when they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show.

We’re entering our forth stop on memory lane tour, 1973 Dr Hooks’s single ‘On The Cover Of Rolling Stone’ peaked at No.6 on the US charts. Did you know the single was banned in the UK by BBC due to the reference of the magazine.

Ok off to another quick stop number five which is 1978, U2 won £500 ($850)and a chance to audition for CBS Ireland in a talent contest held in Dublin.

1979 is our sixth stop, Gloria Gaynor started a four-week run at No.1 on the UK singles chart with ‘I Will Survive’. The song was originally released as the B-side to a song first recorded by The Righteous Brothers called ‘Substitute’. Also in 1979, The Bee Gees went to No.1 on the UK album after their fifteenth studio album release ‘Spirits Have Flown’. It was the group’s first album after their collaboration on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The albums first three tracks were released as singles and impressively they all reached No.1 in the US, giving the Bee Gees an unbroken run of six US chart-toppers and tying a record set by The Beatles.

Please make sure your seat belts are fastened, were headed to 1984, stop number seven on this tour. Van Halen’s ‘Jump’ peaked at No.1 in the US and its definitely on my all time favorite list. David Lee Roth has given various accounts of the meaning behind the lyrics over the years, but most often says they are about a TV news story he saw where a man was about to kill himself by jumping off a building.

1997 brings us to the eighth stop. US singer Jermaine Stewart died of cancer, in 1986 her single ‘We Don’t Have To …. Take Our Clothes Off’ reached No.2 in the UK. Jermaine worked with Shalamar, The Temptations and Boy George.

Sit down shut up and hold on, we are entering the 2000’s, stop nine. In 2004 The Kinks singer Ray Davies received his CBE medal from the Queen at Buckingham Palace for services to the music industry.

We are almost at the end of this weeks tour just 3 stops left. Stop ten brings us to 2006, The Smiths turned down a $5m (£2.8m) offer to reform for a music festival. The band who split acrimoniously in 1987, rejected the bid to get back together for the Coachella US festival.

Stop eleven is 2008, The former drummer with ABBA Ola Brunkert, was found dead with his throat cut at his home in Majorca, Spain. Brunkert died after he hit his head against a glass door in the dining room at his home. He was found dead in his garden after trying to seek help. The 62 year old musician had played on every Abba album and toured with the group, its it just me or dose this sound a little suspicious?

Ok the second last stop number twelve, in 2010 Alex Chilton singer and guitarist with Big Star died in hospital of heart problems in New Orleans he was 59, as a teenager Chilton had been a member of The Box Tops, who had the 1967 hit ‘The Letter’.

Last but not least stop thirteen, lucky for some not so lucky for others. In 2013 John Lennon and George Harrison were honored with a blue plaque at the site of the former Apple Boutique in a ceremony in London held at 94 Baker Street. The new plaque reads “John Lennon, M.B.E., 1940-1980, and George Harrison, M.B.E., 1943-2001, worked here”.

Well kids that concludes this weeks magical memory lane tour. Be sure to check back next week for more adventures down memory lane.

Damien SN1 EP1 – ‘ The Beast Rises ‘

damien2.jpg

I could hardly contain my excitement when I learnt that ‘The Omen’ (I own The Omen Pentology) was being re-imagined as a TV series and follows Damien in his adult life. For those of you that are not familiar with ‘The Omen’ here is a brief background.

The Omen movies are an American-British horror set in 1976 and is about a young boy Damien, who was adopted at birth by Mr Thorn the American Ambassador and his wife after their their own son was still born but things are not what the seem with Damien and surrounded by mystery and death, the Thorn’s are totally unaware their son is the Antichrist. You dont need to have seen the movies to understand whats going on in the TV series as it explains his past along the way.

A Danger to Himself and Others – SN4 EP1

The next day Remero disposes of Bob Paris’ body in a hole in the boat and lets it flood with water while he bails out into a rowboat and rows away and throw a phone in the water.  Norman wakes up in the middle of a field dirty and covered in blood and when a farmer finds him he is arguing with his “Mother” the farmer attempts to help Norman but he charges at him so the farmer knocks him out. Norma is at home and beside herself trying to  find Norman, while Dylan is out putting up “Missing” posters around town. At the Portland Hospital Emma is being prepped for surgery and her doctor reassures she will do great. When Alex gets home he hides Bob’s Money under the bricks in his fireplace  and Norman is taken to the county psychiatric hospital and is strapped to a gurney and the nurse tells Norman he was found in a field and Norman asks for his mother.

Dylan and Norma receive a call from the farmer who found Norman and learn that Norman is in a psychiatric hospital in Willamette County, but Dylan tells Norma he needs to go the Portland Hospital to see Emma, its then Norma realizes that the two are a couple and goes on her on to Willamette psychiatric hospital to pick Norman up but is refused access to him for 48-hours, the doctor believes Norman could be dangerous and Norma negligent as she didn’t get Norman the help he needs. Norma asks Remero for his help but there is nothing he can do

While Dylan waits with Emma’s dad at the hospital a woman asks the receptionist about Emma saying she is her mother,  she sits near Dylan and he asks If she is Emma’s mother and when Will returns with coffee and he is not to happy to see her and tells his former wife to leave, The surgeon finds Will and Dylan and tells them that Emma did great and it was a textbook transplant. The following Norman is released and is told she can no longer ignore getting Norman help and if she doesn’t then social services will be involved. With Norman now home Norma fusses of him cooking his favorite dinner and giving him a hair cut. The next morning Norma goes out and locks Norman in her bedroom and when he wakes up he flips out and starts trying to break down the door and he finally breaks the door down, his personality clearly changes and put his mothers dressing gown on and sweeps his hand across his face and hair like a women would and his mannerisms become feminine. Emma’s mother knocks on the door and Norman invites her in, she asks him to please pass on her childhood teddy and a letter explaining why she left, Norman loses it, and starts strangling her and shout how could you abandon her when she is sick, and Emma’s mother has taken her last breath. There is a new side to Norman that is starting to emerge and cant wait for episode 2

My Rating for A Danger to Himself and Others is: 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬

On This Day In Music 10th March 2016

10thmarch

The Music Industry has a huge history and goes way back before I was even thought of by my parents, so every Thursday (unless you need this fix daily),  I will share with you the interesting history that went down on that day through the years so with out further ado

Here is what happend on this day March 10th

In 1956 RCA Records placed a half page advert in Billboard Magazine claiming that Elvis Presley was ‘the new singing rage’. Well they weren’t wrong! I’m a huge Elvis fan, I named my cats Elvis & Priscilla and have quite the book, dvd and memorabilia collection.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel recorded ‘Sound of Silence’ in 1964 as an acoustic duo. It wasn’t until record company produces added electric guitar, bass and drums, without the knowledge of Paul and Art, that the song would become a hit in late 1965.

Davie Jones (David Bowie) and the Manish Boys in 1965 appeared at the Bromel Club, Bromley Hill, England.  Its seems 65 was a quite year for music.

1973 was the year Pink Floyd released their eighth studio album The Dark Side of The Moon in the US. It remained in the US charts for 741 discontinuous weeks from 1973 to 1988, longer then any other album in history, and after moving to the Billboard Top Pop Catalogs Chart, the album notched up a further 759 weeks, and had reached a total of over 1,500 weeks on the combined charts by May 2006. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, this is Pink Floyd’s most commercially successful album and one of the best-selling albums worldwide! In my opinion Pink Floyd are pure geniuses and their music is pure awesomeness to ones ears.

In 1977, At 7am in the morning on a trestle table set up out-side Buckingham Palace, London, the Sex Pistols signed to A&M Records, (the real signing had taken place the day before). The contract lasted just for 6 days.

Younger brother of The Bee Gees, Andy Gibb died in hospital on this day in 1988, His death from myocarditis (inflammation of the heart) followed a long battle with cocaine addiction, which had weakened his heart.

1996 seen, Alanis Morissette  win Best Album for Jagged Little Pill, Best Female singer, Best Rock Album, Best songwriter and best single at the 25th Juno Awards that was held in Hamilton, Canada.

1997 American rhythm and blues singer Lavern Baker died from coronary complications he was 57. Baker had the 1958 US No.1 single ‘I Cried A Tear’.

Pretenders singer Chrissy Hynde was arrested in 2000, for leading an animal rights protest against the clothing firm Gap, who were accused  of using leather from cows slaughtered ‘illegally and crurlly’. The protest took place in Manhattan. Also in 2000 The daily Mail published pictures of Paul McCartney dancing with a cowgirl on the bar of a New York club. McCartney sang along to ‘Whole Lotta Shakin’ through a megaphone and mimicked a strip tease in front of 100 onlookers, geez that would of been a site to see.

2003, During a concert in London, England, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines said that the band was “ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas” (referring to Maines’ hometown of Lubbock and President Bush hailing from the same state).
