Doctor A-Who-Ooo! Ducktales And Doctor Who Mash Up Lands

Doctor A-Who-Ooo! Ducktales And Doctor Who Mash Up Lands

Ok I’m gunna be the first to admit that I’m not the youngest guy but I’m also not the oldest either. I grew up in the late 80’s and early 90’s aka the ‘Goldern Era Of Cartoons’ and Ducktales was one of my favourite tv shows of that era. I have fond memories of myself and my older brother often dancing round the front room to the intro of Ducktales, heck I even danced to it with Skatronixxx Jr when I was researching this article. Don’t believe me how catchy it was? Check it out below.

See I told you it was damn good,  *Life is like a hurricane here in Duck Burg* sorry I got a lil off topic here *Ducktales A-Woo-Ooo* It won’t happen again, well actually I can’t make that promise 😉

So when the news of a Ducktales reboot came out I was psyched, I was even more psyched when the news came out that one of the best Doctor Who actors ever David Tennant would be voicing Scrooge McDuck. You see other than cartoons my next childhood passion was Doctor Who, it started with my late Grampy who helped build a Doctor Who exhibition at Longleat. Yes my Grandad rebuilt a Tardis and K9  he was a true ledge. So you can imagine how much of a Doctor Who fan I was, it was in my family blood to do so.

Then I saw this and my psyched-meter exploded off the charts!

The video is by YouTubers The Axis Of Awesome,  are you as psyched as me for the reboot of Ducktales? Let me know by commenting below!

The King Has Left The Building! Has Jerry Lawler Parted Ways With The WWE?

jerry-lawler

The King has left the building, controversial figure and WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler  has reportedly parted ways with the WWE. But why has he left his home for the past 20 years (on and off) ? Rumor has it, it is due to a pay dispute with the higher ups in the company.

WWE higher up Kevin Dunn made the decision to pull Jerry from WWE’s pre-shows. It is a well known fact that Jerry was on a very hefty deal and despite WWE making more money this year than last year, the decision has been made to invest in youth and trim the deadwood to make room for the likes of Corey Graves and Mauro Ranallo.

Although I will be sad to see Jerry leave if it is indeed true, I for one am excited at the prospect of seeing Corey and Mauro get even more air time. But could the WWE have not offered Jerry a cheaper deal, I mean yes he has been around forever but he has more talent at commentary in his little finger than the whole of David Otunga (Sorry David).

Failing that there is always TNA, with TNA’s spiritual home of Memphis being the same as Jerry could we see a partnership in the future? Well I for one would be excited to see him alongside ‘The Pope’ and Josh Matthews.

An Interview With Cosplayer Lolita Ward

main
Hi Readers
It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Lolita Ward. Lolita Ward first caught my attention with her awesome Deadpool cosplay! Let’s find out some more about Lolita Ward.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

Well, I was cosplaying before I even knew what cosplay was!

I dressed up as Suicide Squad Harley Quinn for Halloween 2015, and I remember all of my friends commenting on the level of detail I’d gone into. Almost like I was a bit too keen…ha!

A friend from school (Hannah) saw my photos and suggested we go to Birmingham MCM Comic Con as Harley & The Joker. Before I knew it we were stood in the NEC, with only our hair and faces resembling Harley & Mr J…because we were too scared to fully cosplay.

It’s safe to say I felt very under-dressed and couldn’t wait to go back in full cosplay.

4

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

The majority of my inspiration comes from other cosplayers and character artwork.

I’ve found that the cosplay community is full of brilliant, creative individuals who not only share amazing content, but also offer valuable advice and ideas. It’s like most things in life, I take the best out of everything I see, add a few of my own ideas, and contort it till it suits me. If ever I have an idea that I’m not sure about, or I need a bit help with something, I just ask everyone what they think.

I adore art, so I find coming across artists adaptations of characters inspires me a lot as well. I’m not opposed to adding a quirky twist to a cosplay that might not be strictly accurate to the character.

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

LOTS OF GOOGLING! I guess the process can be different with a screen accurate cosplay to a character adaption. My Suicide Squad Harley Quinn cosplay is screen accurate (well meant to be!) so that cosplay involved A LOT of online research. It’s easier now to add to it now the film is out, but when I first did her it was a year before it came out. I do quite like that I started putting her together early though, as watching it develop has been fantastic. Always nice to know you’ve improved!

I source most of my cosplays online, whether it’s buying finished pieces, or buying items to customise or buying materials to make props. It’s trial and error really!

Suicide Squad Harley has been bought bit by bit over 6 months, my Belle Reve Harley Quinn cosplay is completely customised, in the respect I’ve sourced materials, dyed them and cut them up to re-style, and my Classic Harley Quinn and Deadpool cosplays are the first I’ve made props for! I made a cheesy cartoon style bomb for Harley and with the help of my friends Tom & Sam we made Deadpools back scabbard. I’m not trusted with a drill you see…

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

I haven’t got many to choose from, but by far it’s got to be Harley. There is so much room for creativity with the amount of looks she has. She’s fun, weird and naughty – what’s not to love? It’s no wonder I feel so connected to her!

2

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

I have cosplayed at…1, 2, 3, 4 conventions so far! Birmingham MCM , London MCM and Amsterdam Comic Con. Each experience has been more than amazing. I’ve had awesome reactions to my cosplay each time, especially in Amsterdam. In fact Amsterdam was almost overwhelming with how beautiful the feedback was there.

I think it’s safe to say, con’s are one of the highlights of my year. It feels amazing to be able to stay in another city for the weekend, put together everything I’ve worked really hard on, spend time with one of my best friends, make lovely new friends, work with awesome photographers old and new, and party the evenings away. There is nothing else quite like it really.

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

I’ve already done Spring Birmingham MCM, Spring London MCM, Amsterdam Comic Con and Autumn London MCM…the only one left this year is Autumn Birmingham MCM that I’ll be attending 19th & 20th November. I’m hoping to attend them all again next year! Maybe even a new one?

7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

This was a really difficult question, but I keep coming back to same two answers.

It would have to be either cosplaying Ironman, in a full, badass functioning suit…THE DREAM.

Or…I’d love to do an impressive Totoro cosplay. I’m not sure whether I’d want to do a badass warrior, armoured cosplay like Jessica Nigri or a full mascot type suit? Either would be pretty cool! For now I guess I’ll stick with my Totoro onesie…

8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?

Don’t be scared to be yourself and have fun – that’s what it’s all about x

An Interview With Cosplayer Mallory Dearest

main
Hi Readers
It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Mallory Dearest. Mallory Dearest first caught my attention with her awesome Harley Quinn cosplay! Let’s find out some more about Mallory Dearest.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

When I first saw a sign for a comic con by my house I always wanted to go to once but didn’t know they were around so when I saw that I started putting outfits together and got more and more into it when i had some place to wear them to.

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

I just get my inspiration from the character itself and sometimes the voice actor. I don’t like to look to other people to get inspired or to try an copy or outdo them or something I like to do my own thing.

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

I don’t like to make my outfits 100% accurate because then I think everybody looks the same an it gets boring, so sometimes I’ll buy the characters corset and then add or take away parts to it so that it kinda matches with the characters I’m trying to cosplay  . The trickiest one I’ve done is probably my Arkham Knight Harley just because I had to paint the lace onto the skirt an make her Jack in the box bomb with just cardboard and styrofoam.

4

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

Hmm it’s between my Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight Harley there both pretty much tied and can’t decide .

3

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

Yes I’ve been to quite a few conventions dressed up an it’s so much fun I wish I could go to more.

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

Sadly no, I’ve already been to 2 this year and those were the last ones around me for the year.

7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

Scarecrow from Arkham Asylum,  I tried to once before but it was too expensive and I never finished it. “

8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?

Just that if you actually know about the character you’r doing then you shouldn’t have any problems and just have fun.

An Interview With Cosplayer Sutefanii Roozu

main
Hi Readers
It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Sutefanii Roozu. Sutefanii Roozu first caught my attention with her awesome Ahri cosplay! Let’s find out some more about Sutefanii Roozu.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

It was a combination of enjoying video games, anime, and going to my first medieval faire in high school. I was so inspired by how detailed & creative the costumes I saw at the medieval fair were. I decided I wanted to make my own.

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

A little bit of both. I feel like, at this point, every time I watch a new movie or play a new game I find myself thinking “oooh that’d be an awesome cosplay!” Haha

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

Hmmm it really depends on the costume. Something like my dry bones costume was completely from scratch. The skull I put together for that was completely made out of things you can find around the house! Other times I will commission items or even have items donated to me (such as 75% of my D.Va costume) because occasionally I’ll be in the middle of a project, but if someone really wants to see me do a character & they send me the costume I’m always up for it! 🙂

2

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

So hard to decide! I love Gnar, Dry Bones, and Ahri :))

1

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

It’s always a blast! It’s awesome to see your favorite characters brought to life, being around people with similar interests who are so friendly, & being acknowledged for costumes you have worked so hard on 🙂 I love meeting new people and making friends.

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

I will be going to Youmacon this coming weekend, I am going to try and make it to Ohayocon if I can afford it, and I will also be at Pax East this year which I am absolutely thrilled about! Nothing else planned beyond those conventions yet. If you see me please come say hi! 😀

7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

Hmmm I would love to start getting into some epic armor builds and work with LEDs!! No one specific comes to mind at the moment though.

8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?

Have fun! Making costumes can be frustrating, just don’t get discouraged. It’s all trial and error. You’ve got to start somewhere… and that somewhere would probably be YouTube! haha.

4

9) Where can we find you online?

Just about anywhere! Lol I have Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, & Patreon accounts. Which you can all find me under my tag, Sutefanii Roozu .

An Interview With Cosplayer Lara Cosplays

main
Hi Readers
It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Lara Cosplays. Lara Cosplays first caught my attention with her awesome Tomb Raider cosplay! Let’s find out some more about Lara Cosplays.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

I returned into this world first of all by examining my passion which is Tomb Raider. My parents had just installed the internet then it was really the discovery of everything. I found a site which to propose information on all the games and especially for the solutions (his name is Captain Alban) and then then I fell on a forum, which shares the notices and the passions of many fan. This is the way I discovered the cosplay of Tomb raider, at this moment I did not know too much what it was nor that it also could archer in other universes.

4

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

It comes to me at first thus of my passion for Tomb Raider because it is thanks to it that I began with these numerous dresses. Then after it is enough in the crush in particular in movies as for sucker punch and for the red witch. The only manga which I made was Sailor Mars whom I wanted to make for a long time because it is a character whom I admire since girl, then it was child’s dream.

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

It is enough complex because certain products ask for an enormous skill in the realization of the blow I often call on to professionals. At the beginning, I learnt to make my only holsters, I got myself the material in a shop held by a veillard who take care of ropes essential elements to go back up boats. I is to find what I am looking for there, hit had of everything, it is thanks to him that I owe my knowledge on the subject, how to fix rivets for example. Followed, my grandmother gives me courts when she helps me to finalize clothes in particular for Baby Doll’s holding. But I do not arrive still alone there, I know just to make some alterations as points. Then now, most of the cosplayers share their techniques as the manufacturing of holsters in linoleum.
The part the hardest to realize is holsters, any I always find some of difficult to make. Let be the thickness is not good, nor the same color, not the good size that’s hell every time but fortunately I still find an alternative.
2

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

I cannot choose it what is too hard what you ask me (smile) I would answer all the same by Lara because it is the heroin that I am proud of incarer. Sometimes these suits are just as much pleasant to carry what is more sometimes complex to realize.

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

My first convention was in 2012 in Toulouse for the Toulouse Game Show, where I was able to do my first Tomb Raider. I was very satisfied with this first impression. A not very big but rather welcoming lounge. We even invited me in the VIP stand when we saw me shooting outside. It was really incredible.

Of our in the daytime, I prefer the conventions which I cross mainenant with my friends that the first ones where you feel that kept silent disturb.

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

Yes I even plan to make 3 by the end of the year if I can. One in Toulouse, one in Castrate and one to TARBES, later I do not know which suit to carry because with all these limitations at the levels of the false weapons it puts more and more problem to carry our suits idols.

7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

I would have a cosplay dream, it would be to make Bayonetta. Even if the cosplay is very difficult to make  at the level of the weapons which are very complex, she has so much class that to embody him would be really exceptional.

8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?

For the trick cosplay level, I would tell the cosplayers to take well a quality wig to give more interest to their cosplays. So, it is necessary to bet in rather expensive wigs, beginning with 50€ or more because often it is not of the quality. You can thus command it on Amazon, what allows you to send back them if she do not suit to you.

Later I would say that if we want to try well it is necessary to try, if one wait for the agreement of such or such anybody, we shall make nothing more.

5

9) Where can we find you online?

It is rather simple, I am essentially on Facebook for this address : https://www.facebook.com/LaraCosplaysPage/

Later I have my site which I try to update regularly but there is still some work : http://lara678.weebly.com/

I am also on Instagram at LaraCosplay’s : https://www.instagram.com/laracosplays/

An Interview With Cosplayer Colossal Smidgen Cosplay

untitled
Hi Readers
It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Colossal Smidgen CosplayColossal Smidgen Cosplay first caught my attention with her awesome Ewok cosplay! Let’s find out some more about Colossal Smidgen Cosplay.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

Honestly I just jumped right into it head first. I used to love seeing other people cosplay but it never EVER crossed my mind to do it myself. Until one day my friend said I should be his little Short Round to his Indiana Jones just for fun. And it became way more than just for fun for me after that. I fell in love with it and needed to do more!

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

My inspiration comes from anywhere. Starting with older fandoms that I have a life long attachment to like Star Wars and Pokemon. Now I’m also doing more new characters that I’ve become attached to .Or just because they look super duper cool xD

5.png

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

Most if my costumes are 100% me, and I try to keep it that way so that I feel more attached to the cosplay:D I do tend to use some pieces like corsets that I didn’t make myself because I LOVE corsets. I’ve never sewed before so just learning how to put things together is soooo tricky!! Dx

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

My favorite cosplay as of right now is….Probably the one I’m working on right now for Spooky Empire and Halloween. It’s a secret, but I’ll tell you ;P I’m doing Umbre on (my favorite Eeveelution from pokemon) as kinda like a witch doctor, voodoo design. It’s all creepy and gross andI love it!!! XD

But of course my Ewok will always have a special place in my little heart because it was my first official cosplay as a cosplayer.

4.png

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

I’ve done a few. My first was Short Round from Indiana Jones and it was AWESOME having people recognize who I was and shout out random quotes. It was a blast!

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

I’m going to Spooky Empire in Orlando. Tampa Bay Mega Con, and the last one of the year is Holiday Matsuri!

7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

Whaaaaa ANYONE??? Hmmmm. .. Actually it wouldn’t be a person from anything but I want to make a super megabadasssteampunkfairy with huuuuuge brasswings that move! I’ve been designing this one for months xD and would LOVE to actually make it instead of dreaming about it.

8) Do you have any words of advice for up and coming cosplayers?

Literally just do it. Don’t wait for that one thing to happen so you can get into it. Jump right in and start creating amazing work.
