Sausage Party Trailer Released

Sausage_Party

Let me set the scene for you. Imagine your busy hanging out with your best buds, waiting to get picked; and when you do get picked you get paired with your ideal woman. Now this isn’t to gain entry to an exclusive nightclub or for a sports team. You’re a sausage and your ideal woman is a bun. Yes you read that right!

Sausage Party is a a film detailing a sausage named Frank (Seth Rogen) who lives in a fictional supermarket called ‘Shopwell’s’. Frank’s life is peaceful, he hangs out with his friends, where their ultimate goal is to get noticed and picked by a customer.

To Frank’s delight him and his friends get picked and they are taken to their new home! Frank and co. are happy as they are about to enter sausage nirvana (yes sausage nirvana), that is until they discover the truth about their existence.

What awaits them is grizzily torture, ultimately followed by death. Frank even witnesses some of his friends being cooked alive, the horror! With the help of his friends, and his hot dog bun love interest Brenda (Kristen Wiig), they embark on a dangerous adventure to escape their fate.

Joining Frank and Brenda on thier escape to freedom is fellow sausages Carl (Jonah Hill), Barry (Michael Cera) and Troy (Anders Holm). Along the way they meet Theresa the Taco (Salma Hayek) and Sammy Bagel Jr. (Edward Norton). With Paul Rudd. James Franco and Danny McBride also joining in the action I for one am curious to see how Frank and the gang are going to get to freedom!

As I watched this film I went through a roller coaster of emotions. Firstly thinking oh no not another animated film. I mean come on how many CGI films do we have to have these days. Not only that, but the plot was about groceries. What next a film about a pack of cards, oh wait The Simpsons already did that.

Then as the film progressed, I went to aww this is kinda cute actually, look at those little sausages all they want to do is get bought and live happily ever after. Except this isn’t a kids film and this isn’t a happy ever after.

After the initial shock of seeing a poor potato skinned alive and baby carrots eaten before they could reach adulthood. I even got a lil too emotionally attached and may have even shed a tear. As I sat down to eat my tea, I was thinking, what had I done to those poor peas boiling them alive.

Then the reality set in, I wasn’t watching a trailer about a film for kids, this was a film for adults and a ****** funny one too. Everything about this film tells me it’s going be a huge success.  It reminds me of Team America when they adultersized (yes I made that word up), the puppet world, this could be the surprise hit of the year.

I for one will be cheering Frank the sausage on to freedom. FREE THE SAUSAGE!!!

Sausage Party is in cinemas from August 12, 2016.

WARNING – If you are a wimp like me, look away now otherwise you may too cry over a potato or baby carrot!

An Interview With British Director, Writer And Vfx Artist Luke Armstrong

luke

It’s interview time on http://www.skatronixxx.com, this time we feature highly talented and all round nice guy Luke Armstrong. Luke is a friend of top supporter of the site Johnny Sachon and has worked with him on various projects in the past.

I approached Luke for an interview and he said yes. I thought Luke would be an interesting person to interview for the site, given his background in the film industry. After all how many people can say they’ve worked with Groot and James Bond? But that’s enough spoilers from me. Let’s read on and find out some more about Luke Armstrong!

———————————————————————————————————————————-

1) Can you tell us how you got into being a screenwriter / director?

I started making films on a little camcorder at age 14 having been into photography from a young age,and it became an obsession. Over the years I made stacks of silly films & VFX sketches with my friends and eventually I ended up doing a degree, winning some awards for my films and doing VFX professionally. Now I do a bit of both!

2) You’ve worked on top Hollywood films such as ‘Guardians Of the Galaxy’, ‘Edge Of Tomorrow’, ‘Iron Man 3 ‘Spectre’’ and ‘Skyfall’, what was it like working on such big films and do you have any interesting stories from working on these films?

Yeah it was a dream to work on some of those, particularly the Bond movies for me I loved them as a kid, and seeing my work on the big screen and name in the credits of Skyfall was a highlight! It’s been a privilege working with the best in the business.

Lots but I’m sworn to secrecy. I think I can say I’ve been sent to set a few times. Once I went to Warner Brothers at short notice for Edge of Tomorrow. I walked right in between Tom Cruise and Doug Liman I had no idea they were there, until a few moments later they went for a take, called action and he started talking! He is an incredible actor.

3) You worked with friend of www.skatronixxx.com Johnny Sachon on the movie ‘Shadows’, what was it like working on the film and are you still going to produce a feature length version?

I did! I enjoy working with him, we bounce ideas around and I think we enable each other. We recently made another short called ‘The Service’ which is a spy thriller (You can see Shadows & The Service here: http://inspired-pictures.co.uk/). He’s a very good actor and I still think I have yet to get the best out of him as a director; I tend to neglect him on set because he’s so involved in the projects we do  and there is no time to finesse things on short films, but we’re actively working on the feature. It’s in the development phase at the moment and things are coming along nicely I don’t like to say too much but I’m looking forward to being able to talk about it more soon!

4) How do you feel about Hollywood producing more and more sequels to tried and tested films, rather than perhaps giving fresher ideas a shot?

I think there’s no harm in sequels, some of the most beloved films are sequels or prequels; i.e. Star Wars, the Bond films the Marvel films. We’re voting for them with our wallets. I would definitely like to see more small and medium sized films getting made too, and given a decent chunk of cash for marketing & theatrical run!

5) Do you have any fun stories from set?

When we were filming ‘Shadows’, we had paid to close a street to film a shootout between the Police and our characters. In the middle of the gunfire, this girl came out and told us she was moving house and a lorry was coming any minute right in the middle of where we were shooting. We hadn’t planned for that and only had one day at the location to get everything shot I was cracking up with laughter. You couldn’t make it up! Well the lorry turned out to be a small van, and we got our police stunt guys (in costume, with replica weapons hanging from their necks) to move all her things out of her house and into the van. She was amused and so were the small crowd of local residents who had gathered to watch us! it was all over within five minutes and we got back to the less serious business of filming.

6) You’ve been round the festival circuit, can you tell me anything about what these festivals are like, and how someone would go about entering a film into a festival?

Its all about picking the right festivals and finding out what they offer if you want exposure, or awards, you may enter different festivals than if you want to sell your film. You may want to choose festivals that recognise films for awards at the end, and are competently run. Some don’t, and aren’t!

We had one experience where a festival invited us for a test screening at the cinema they were using all was correct. When it came to screening, they used a different screen and our film was badly cropped!

It can be devastating when you take the time to make decisions about fine details, get into the cinema and see your film is being projected wrong the picture is cropped, the sound is off or whatever; after so much effort went into framing that way or mixing the sound so it wouldn’t be too quiet.

It’s also important to choose festivals that are a good fit for your genre. If you make a scifi film it is much harder to distribute on the festival circuit than a more classical drama there are just less festivals willing to accept them. There are services out there like withoutabox and film freeway that will make life easy for you when submitting.

7) Can you tell us about the SciFi London ’48 Hour Film Challenge’ ?

It involves a lot of caffeine, hysterical and delirious behaviour in the middle of the night suddenly the most mundane things become hilarious when sleep deprived at 4:30 am. It’s more about the doing than the end result I think. Everyone should try it at least once. We had a blast! Here was our entry from last year:

8) What can we expect to see from you in 2016?

I’m working on a music video for an insanely talented musician which should be all wrapped up in the next couple of months. I’m also working on the Shadows feature of course, which is taking up a lot of my time. Watch this space http://www.lukefilm.co.uk

9) Tell our readers one fact about yourself that they may not already know?

I lived in England, Scotland, Texas, and Singapore as a kid.

10) Finally what advice would you have for an upcoming screenwriter / director ?

Just make films have fun doing it, hone your craft and don’t worry about what people will like. You can do it with next to nothing. Listen to feedback, and any bit of good advice you can get from anyone in the industry can be really valuable. I enjoy watching my friends films and meeting other filmmakers and asking them about their experiences. Filmmakers always have fun stories from set.

An Interview With American Actress Erin Stegeman

erin

It’s time for another interview on http://www.skatronixx.com , this time we chat with ‘modern day triple threat’, Erin Stegeman. She can act, write and produce films and was previously a stand up comedienne.

Erin is one of our followers on our twitter account and I approached her for an interview after reading her bio. I thought her wide array of talents would be an interesting read for you. After a couple of emails and getting to know Erin an interview was agreed.

Let’s find out some more about another insanely talented and awesome member of our #SkatFamily Erin Stegeman !

———————————————————————————————————————————-

1) Wow you’re certainly a triple threat, can you tell us how you got into acting and film making?

A: Well thank you. I’m so honored to hear that! It’s a weird adjustment to really sink into this idea of multi-tasking because, for a long time, I felt like I was pretty crappy at most of those things. I never studied screenwriting or film directing formally, so most of my training has been on set literally doing it. I’d write and perform plays with the neighbors. I always wanted to do everything back then too, mostly because I was the oldest and I was a ten-year old with a vision! The kids all revolted one day and called me bossy. I believe they’re all in computer science jobs anyway…

So my mom put me in piano, dance, theater – anything to keep me from running around the house and dancing in the living room next to breakable objects. I’m from the Midwest, and I was a class clown for sure, but sort of nerdy and introverted, and I was also a bit of an athlete. I felt really unclear as to what I was – there was a lot of pressure back then (and still today) to be defined by what you do and like. I loved a lot of things – which can appear unfocused and indecisive, especially when it came time to pick a major in college and then pick an area in the entertainment industry to pursue. When I was strictly acting in NYC and LA, I was miserable. Even though I loved performing, there was something missing for me. Being happy was an uphill battle. Then, one day I just decided to start doing more things that I truly enjoyed, whether they were acting-related or not. I started experimenting with Twitter and writing. I quickly fell in love and opportunities began to come easily. I found a comedic voice, but also a reunited love of genre content. Instead of fighting the divide I started blending it all. Now I approach things project to project as opposed to this title of what I do. It’s much more from a place of “how can I best serve this idea?”, which feels more like who I am.

There was this moment though in college – I was presenting a scene for my theater directing class, and I had selected one of the witch sequences from MACBETH. I added a dance routine, the Harry Potter theme song, special effects, modernized it, and made Macbeth a female…I just went all out. To this day one, it’s still of the best moments of my life. When that scene ended, I knew I wanted to direct. I still have the feedback sheet from my professor from that.

2) You are well known from ‘Once Upon A Time: The Rock Opera’, can you tell us how you got involved with the project and how the idea came about? Also are you a fan of the TV show?

Back when the show first aired, a few friends from Facebook started posting the show’s poster on my feed and asked if that was me. I had literally just dyed my hair back to blonde from red after being compared to Emma Stone at every single audition. Life is super ironic and you just have to go with it. I checked out the show and became addicted quickly…it was around season 2, I had just started writing and Youtube was booming. I wanted to do something, so I came up with this idea of these fairytale characters not yet seen on OUAT in a 12 step support group in Storybrooke, led by Emma. It was written, shot, and up in less than a week. We had an amazing response to the video which allowed us to make a few more episodes. I want to be clear – this wasn’t poof and now life is easy! It meant launching social media, networking in the once community, and taking daily actions to stay relevant. But, I loved it, so it was easy to stay motivated.

I started exploring making short films and wanted to go in a different direction with the series. I love films like ROCKY HORROR and DEVIL’S CARNIVAL, that are much more of an audience experience, sort of merging movies with convention culture. I wanted to mirror the same, so we decided to go with a rock opera. I had no clue how to write music and even hired another director because I’d never done a feature. As fate and scheduling would have it, I ended up doing both.

3) You even got to perform at Comic-Con what was that like and did you see many famous faces watching your performance?

COMIC-CON WAS AMAZING. Truly a bucket list experience. I don’t think it sunk in for us until we all went back to our rental house afterwards. My cast just sat in the living room together and we kept saying, “one milestone down”. You can’t really beat singing songs you wrote, on a pirate ship, with your best friends, in front of a shit ton of people in cosplay. I owe it all to my friend Brandon, who I met at another con. He invited us to perform and I will never be able thank him enough for that opportunity. I love when I go to other cons and people come up and say, “I saw you perform at Comic-Con!” That’s nerd gold.

4) Your first short film you wrote and directed was ‘Meet The Tweeds’ how did this come about?

Honestly, I was so jealous of my husband and his friends who were making all these horror films and having a lot of success with them, that I sort of invited myself to the party. We both have a lot of connections in the horror space, but I had never written anything. So I saw an opportunity to get a team together and possibly get some exposure. I love sickly dark comedies and satire, which is essentially what it was – this super conservative family who eats children.

The night we shot it, I thought I was going to die. It was so unbelievably difficult for me, and I was miserable. It’s very technical compared to directing theater, and when you have a lean mean team and you’re the weak link – it’s just awful. My husband sliced his arm open on set, we had 3 kid actors, we went way overtime…I thought for certain I would never direct again. Then it went up on Dread Central’s home page on Halloween, and I thought I just need to keep practicing. Maybe it will get better. Honestly it’s still awful, but enjoyable-awful.

5) You have a background in journalism, how did you find this prepared you for your very versatile career?

I was that kid that preferred to do essays instead of multiple choice growing up. Journalism was very natural for me. I had already been blogging on my personal site for about a year when I was offered a couple gigs with LA WEEKLY and THE HOLLYWOOD JOURNAL through friends of friends. The LA WEEKLY stuff was focused on reviewing web series, which absolutely trained me for everything. I interviewed successful creators, saw what they did versus others, started to cultivate relationships at YouTube and at Sundance, and really learned everything behind the scenes of content creating. I was unattached to the job, so networking became fun again. I highly recommend sinking your teeth, however you can, into the world you want to be a part of. I interviewed celebrities that I would NEVER have the courage to approach, but because I had this fancy PRESS badge on, it gave me courage…and contacts for future projects.

6) Is it true you have been in over 50 commercials? If so could you tell us what some of these were for?

I’ve not been in 50 commercials – just a handful, but I have been in over 50 films, shorts, and tv shows. I’m currently the customer in that musical commercial for Amazon Prime. That was one of those incredible coincidences because I filmed that just a couple days before shooting the rock opera. Such a learning experience – I don’t think I ever left the set.

7) What’s this I heard about you winning a ‘Pig Roast Pie Eating Championship’????

My agent made me take that off my resume lol. At my college (Stephens College in Columbia, MO) the theater majors spend one summer in Okoboji, IA, performing at a local theater. It’s a crazy experience – I even wrote a screenplay about it. To break up all the stress, the theater puts on this festival called the OKOBOJI PIG ROAST. You can enter with a team and compete in these ridiculous obstacles. One of my events was pie-eating contest. I’m like a really fast eater. Impressively fast. It’s been a concern to my parents on numerous occasions. I freakin nailed this. You compete with a teammate and mine started to vomit – it was a whole cherry pie, which is the worst kind of pie. So I picked up the slack and won by a landslide. My husband (although not at the time) was on another team and he and his partner didn’t even make it through. I bring that up from time to time. My team won the entire event and I got MVP – also one of my favorite life moments.

8) What can we expect to see from you in the 2016?

The Rock Opera will be doing a screening and convention tour in the spring and early summer (indietix.net). Depending how that goes we may extend into early fall. I’ve partnered with another production company and we’re rebranding my YouTube channel (erinstegeman), so you can expect more sketches and content that expand past OUAT at a higher production value. My company is slated to direct a Sci-fi pilot this year as well, and I’m in pre production on two features – a psychological thriller and a horror fairytale musical. Aiming to start shooting the first in the late fall/winter. I have seriously never been this busy, but I honestly love every second of it. It’s been over ten years in the making to have a year like this, so I’m just gonna drink a lot of green tea and enjoy the ride.

9) Tell our readers one fun fact about yourself that they may not already know?

I love these questions and can never think of anything remotely cool enough. I climbed into the chamber of a volcano on my honeymoon. I’m a certified personal trainer. My aunt dated Brad Pitt. I didn’t get cast in any musicals in college. I see ghosts (seriously).

10) Finally what advice would you have for an upcoming actress?

I think the biggest hiccup for me was trying to be like everyone else. Be a Kate Winslet type, be a funny girl, lose 20 pounds, be younger….but YOU are a brand new thing, it’s evolutionary. Spend time really getting to know yourself. There’s no rush – I’ve had more success in my 30s than in my 20s. Have a ton of fun. Give up the diet. Self-improvement is a total myth. There’s only self-discovery – which is presenting to the world who you’ve always been. And it is so, so powerful. When you can really tap into that, there’s no stopping you.

———————————————————————————————————————————-

Wow what an interview! I for one wish Erin all the best and am sure the musical will be a huge success. If they are lucky enough to tour the UK I for one will be there supporting them!

An Interview With Top British Actress Rachael Holoway

rachael

It’s time for another interview on http://www.skatronixxx.com and this one should be interesting!

I was contacted by Rachel to see if I’d be interested in having an interview with her on my site. Rachael is a good friend of long time supporter of the site Johnny Sachon, so this was a no brainer really.

After getting to know Rachael, I found that not only she was an awesome person, but  she also had a secret talent.

No more spoilers from me, let’s find out about actress Rachael Holoway.

———————————————————————————————————————————–

1) How did you get into acting?

My dads an actor so I grew up around the industry and decided when I was about 7 that I was going to be an actress! I started training when I was 11 and the rest is history really.

2) You were in a film called ‘Soulmates’ with friend of skatronixxx.com Johnny Sachon, can you tell a little bit about this film?

I was indeed. Soulmates is a gorgeous film based on as you would imagine…the existence of Soulmates. Johnnys character being a lecturer uses a mathematical equation to prove why he believes in Soulmates to his doubting girlfriend, myself.

It’s such a lovely feel good film that approaches a familiar subject in a fresh and imaginative way.

It was such a fun shoot! It was the second time I’d been cast opposite Johnny so it was such a pleasure to work with him again and the response the film has received has been fantastic!

3) I hear you’re also a black belt in taekwondo, how did you develop an interest in this and could we see you as the female Jason Statham ?

Haha, absolutely! He’s awesome and I’d love to be the seen as the female version of him! A butt kicking actress…that’s me! I love the action genre and my martial arts niche definately pushes me towards highly physical roles which I love!

I’ve always been such a tom boy. My dad and I would watch Bruce Lee films together when I was young and my fascination with martial arts started there.

I really wanted to learn how to fight so I started kickboxing lessons. I did that for a while and then got hooked on taekwondo and yes, I am indeed a blackbelt!

rachael2.jpg

4) You’ve been in top soaps such as Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Doctors, how do you find acting in soaps vary from that of films?

Soaps are so fast paced. It’s quite incredible actually, the filming schedule is crazy so you move from scene to scene really quickly. Its in no way rushed, you don’t move on until the director is happy…it’s just impressive how fast the whole team infront and behind the camera work together to get the job done in the shortest time possible.

Don’t get me wrong, film shoots can be fast paced too, however the difference is these soaps are on every single day, the schedule is so intense.

On a film shoot, things can be done with a little more room for experimentation with and slightly less of a time constraint.

5) You were in TV series ‘Cloud 9’ as Kelly, could you tell us about this?

Ahh Cloud 9! So this was the first time I worked with Johnny and it was such a fun series to be part of. It was a British Asian daily drama that followed the lives our London based group. It tackled all sorts of issues and was an awesome show to be part of. My character ‘Kelly’ was the girlfriend of Johnnys character ‘Ben’ who had a real roller coaster of a relationship which ended up with them getting engaged in the series finale. I’m so glad to have been part of it.

6) What’s this I hear about you being in an advert for Hewlett Packard ?

Yes! I am a reoccurring character called ‘The App Defender’. She’s a total bad ass who never looses her cool and controls every situation with total ease…even when it involves taking 3 bad guys out at once! I love being her!

7) If you could be in one existing film, what film and character would you choose and why?

This is easy…Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. I love these films and it is just my dream role! She is the ultimate woman with so many skills. Guns, swords, bo work, horse riding, hand to hand combat, motorbikes, all filmed the coolest locations…what more could I possibly want from a role! They’re doing a re make so I’m waiting for my call!

8) What can we expect to see from you in 2016?

Well, I’m going to LA at the end of the month for some really exciting meetings so watch this space!

9) Tell our readers one fun fact about yourself that they may not already know?

I’m learning Mandarin! Very random I know but I love to challenge my brain and what better way to do that then to learn arguably the hardest language in the world! I was in Beijing this time last year and really fell for the country and its people. Such an awesome place to visit…if you haven’t been yet, go!

10) Finally what advice would you have any advice for an upcoming actress or actor?

You will only get out of this life and your career what you put in. Work hard and I mean so hard that you’re  physically and mentally exhausted and I promise you, things will start to happen.  And most importantly…never give up!!!

Ghostbusters 3 – Trailer Analysis

ghostbusters3

It’s here!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who know me, know that Ghostbusters is one of my favorite films. I own both the films on DVD, yet I still also watch them everytime they show them on TV and moan about the advert breaks! I know Robin Shelby (Slimer in Ghostbusters 2) and have met Ernie Hudson (Winston) and Bill Bryan (Stay Puft). I also interview any new authors who join my ‘Ministry of Misfits’ and one of their questions is about the new film.

ghostbusterpics

So yeah chances are I’m in quite a good place to share my thoughts on the new Ghostbusters film.

If you wan’t to know the back story about why it took so long to make Ghostbusters 3, I can tell you but it’s a long story and involves portraying Bill Murray in not a nice light. Let’s just say the other original 3 tried for years and years to make the third film, but ol’Bill was having none of it.

So you can imagine my joy when they announced that a third Ghostbusters was being made! Hoorah, at last!! I was ecstatic, then I heard the news it was going to be an all female cast, I was like ooooooooooook. Then I heard that two of the top roles had been taken by Bridesmaids alumni Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig and was to be directed by Bridesmaids director Paul Feig. My heart sank.

I had waited countless years for one of my fave films to be remade to have it essentially as Bridemaids with ghosts. Yeah I have to admit that Bridesmaids is kinda funny, but it’s the WRONG kind of funny.

Let me explain the original Ghostbusters was the perfect combination of Saturday Night Live humour with feel good. It’s not about the fact that it’s all female, it’s about the feelings, the emotions. I’m not American but even I feel patriotic towards America watching Ghostbusters 2 where a super slimed Statue of Liberty goes to save the day.  I get the goosebumps when they run towards the building, cheer when Rick Moranis aka Louis Tully suits up complete with ear muffs.

Watching the trailer for the new Ghostbusters, I felt nothing, well I did feel something. I felt canned laughter with a nod to the past. It’s not funny when you are trying to be funny people. Don’t believe me, watch the trailer for yourself!

For months and months the writers of the new Ghostbusters had said that the film would NOT be a remake or reboot, instead it would be a homage to the past. Yes although I have been vocal in my disapproval of the film, I tried to remain neutral, after all, sometime change is better, but in this case it sadly was not.

I got goosebumps hearing the music when the trailer kicks in. The music is one of the most iconic parts of the film. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE knows the words if you’re a fan, heck even if you don’t like the film chances are you know the words! This got me pysched, had I been wrong about the film? Would I be pro Ghostbusters 3? Well lets find out some more.

The trailer then goes on to say at the 10-12 second mark.

Interesting are the going to pay respect to the original film?? Also Winston was NOT a scientist, come on writers did you even watch the original film? He was a mechanic. Then at the 18 second mark we see one of the most iconic landmarks and symbols of the film.

firehouse.png

OMG it’s the firehouse and it’s not run down! Why is it not run down? Where are the original team? Also if ghosts had been proven to be real 30 years ago, why hadn’t one major ghoulie wanted and succeeded in taking over the planet?

30 seconds in we see three of the team in a library where Melissa’s character clearly this films version of Dan Ackroyd’s ‘Ray’ is stood with Kirtsen Wiig and newbie in tow. Oh wait what’s this at the 32 second mark? It’s a ghost! Why do they seem surprised? They were proven to be real, did they not watch the original film like the writers??? Oh wait I know that ghost and you do too. it’s the ‘Grey Lady’ aka the ghost in Library. This was the first ghost the old team ran into. You think that some wonnabe Ghostbusters would have heard of this famous ghost.

Ok I have to admit the special affects on the ghost were pretty cool and they did remind me of the original ghosts. The ghost was all peaceful and calm until SLIMAGE!!!! I mean come on for a film that said it was not being a remake or reboot, you’re doing a good job so far of ripping it off!

We then here Kristen Wiig’s character saying that the ectoplasm went ‘everywhere and in every crack’ hmmmmmm I don’t know what to think of that. Cue snazzy music again and we we cut to the three newbies saying ‘they’ve dedicated their life to the paranormal’ and people running around the streets in panic.

I’m sorry I said it earlier but did any of the writers not watch the original? If you’re gunna reference the previous films and the past, acknowledge ghosts are real! It’s like saying oh wait the sky isn’t blue, it’s red, no wait it’s actually blue I forgot!

At the 57 second mark we see the proton packs and Melissa McCarthy saying that ‘people need their help’. I’m sorry but if I lived somewhere and new ghosts were real, I would have not relied on one business. I would have set up my own to zap those suckers into oblivion!!

Then at the 1 minute and 10 second mark we are introuduced to the female ghostbuster. A streetwise, African-American who knows the streets of New York better than the other three and is the muscle whereas they are the brains. Where does that seem familiar? Oh yeah WINSTON!! Ok now this trailer is annoying me!

The newbie then goes on to say she’s ‘borrowed a car from her uncle’ and what’s this at the 1 minute and 19 second mark, it’s a hearse! Of course it’s a hearse. How original! Ooo wait a minute, what’s it called? Ecto-1 ? Hmmmm.

Cue the Ecto-1 (I swear that name is familiar), bad jokes and the car diving through the city. Then at the 1 minutes and 35 second mark, we see the familiar setting of the hotel from the first film, then SLIMER one second later at 1 minute and 36 seconds. Yay Slimer is here woooooooo. I wonder if my friend Robin is doing anythign with this, if she has, she has kept VERY quiet.

What follows after is bad joke after bad joke. Although the special effects on the ghosts are DAMN good! Well done this is the only thing I’m impressed with so far.

What’s this at the 1 minute and 50 second mark? it appears to be a cameo from Jack Skellington in New York!

We then go on to see Chris Hemsworth providing the eye candy for what is clearly a chick flick film with ghosts and a few more bad jokes.

Well done Paul Feig, you have ruined the franchise for not only me but legions of Ghostbuster fans. We wait years for a third film and get this, although the special effects are good and the cast did thier best. I’m blaming you Paul Feig! If you’re making a fourth film, get me on board as a writer.

You may think that was a harsh review, but for a film that says it was not going to be a reboot when it clearly was. GRR!!

I’m sorry readers, I tried to be neutral! But answer me this, if you watched the movie without the music, would you have known it’s Ghostbusters???

WHAT’S MORE WE ARE NOW PAYING OUR WRITERS!!!

Yes that’s right I aka Mr Skatronixxx is now paying his writers for thier hard work and effort 😉 out of my own pocket!

PAY ME NOW!!! I MEAN ERM HOW MUCH CAN I EARN?

The answer is easy, the more hits the article gets, the more you get paid! However you need to have your article receive over the 500 hit threshold before we can pay you anything? Think that is a tall ask? Well not really!

We will pay you 50p (UK) or the foreign equivalent per article that achieves over 500 hits. There is no upper limit so if your article earns 1000 hits you’ll earn £1 (UK) or the foreign equivalent. So if your article receives 10,000 hits I’ll pay you £10 (UK) or the foreign equivalent! Make sense? Yes!

BUT I WRITE LOADS OF ARTICLES, CAN THE COMBINED AMOUNTS OF ALL MY ARTICLES PER MONTH BE ADDED TOGETHER INSTEAD OF PER EACH ARTICLE?

You see this is where I differ to other sites; YES I will let your combined article views over the month count as well. So say you write 2 articles, one gets 499 views and one gets 1, you still get paid!

How awesome is that? Imagine writing 5 articles a month, each getting 100 views you’ll earn 50p (UK) or the foreign equivalent.

However the articles have to be of a high standard and over a word count of 500 words to qualify, which means no short articles or ones of poor quality. If I have to spend more than 30 minutes editing them e.g. (wrong category, no featured image, labelled incorrectly, typos…) it will be removed for the list of eligible articles. This is all about promoting yourself, working on your own skills and making a name for yourself. I’ll just be paying you for your hard work.

WAIT A MINUTE THAT ISN’T THAT MUCH?

Well yes and now, if I’m honest with you most other sites pay the same or very less! Plus you do not get the added security and family atmosphere we have here at Team Skatronixxx so what are you waiting for?

HOW WILL I GET PAID?

We pay our writers via paypal on the first week of each calendar month.
