Gotham Season 3 Premiere! Mad City: Better to Reign in Hell

 

Gotham is finally back, and after a review of what happened in the end of last season everything starts up.

Jim is dressed up and goes to see Lee but she is with another man. Dejected he leaves knowing he has lost her.

Back in the city something is afoot in the pharmacy. A vicious thug with spikes on his head and rocky pieces coming out of his back is causing trouble. Jim comes into the shot to stop him and knocks him into the road. Soon a truck speeds by slamming into him.

A new arrival and the aunt of a classic Batman character appears on the scene, one Valerie Vale. A reporter who wants to get down to the business about the wicked creatures released by Strange’s Indian Hill.

Harvey and Gordon talk and Harvey tries to persuade him to rejoin the police but to avail. Lucius Fox who is working for the GCPD comes in and Gordon says if a villain appears and the price is right he will get him.

Suddenly Penguin comes in to tell his story about how he saw the bus filled with monsters crash. Penguin really wants Fish Mooney gone, and so do many of the shows fans.

Penguin and Butch go to Barbara and Tabitha’s new night club. Penguin tells Babs and Tabitha he will pay anyone one million for bringing Fish in dead, alive, or any other way. Cat comes in and nabs Butch’s wallet. Cat heads outside and walks with the young Ivy Pepper, handing over Butch’s wallet to a youth, its none other than Bruce Wayne’s Doppelgänger.

Bruce is troubled by what he is going to do the next day. Valerie comes in to talk to Gordon and they talk about Strange and his monsters.

Penguin stops in to see Riddler and hands him an “unsolvable” puzzle which he solves in an instant. Penguin and Riddler really have become good friends. Penguin is worried but Riddler stops him and tells him “Penguins eat Fish.” Clearly this is the beginning of the end for Fish.

Fish Mooney and her associate Cat walk in with two baddies to a lab. Fish uses her powers to subdue a guard falls needing to hold herself up on a desk. Clearly Fish isn’t as strong as she is letting people think. Gordon comes into capture Fish and is attacked by her goon. The man escapes and Gordon shows disappointment.

Bruce sits with Alfred in Wayne Enterprises, he is taking charge. Bruce knows people on his board are in the Court of Owls. In the Court of Owls headquarters the same Mr.Crowley is seen getting orders to kill Bruce.

Men come into take over Babs club and she feigns sadness when she is struck. In a fit of madness she kills the leader with the butt of his gun as Tabitha kills the others.

Valerie comes into see Gordon after a visit with Cat. She is going to join him on his mission to catch Fish.

Bruce meets with Cat and she is upset that he was gone. I really enjoy seeing these two age and show the relationship slowly develop. As they talk the Doppelgänger watches confused.

Gordon finds where Fish is and goes to see Valerie waiting in her car, he handcuffs her and heads out. He heads to Professor Strange’s right hand woman Peabody. His attempt to lure Fish works but only in bringing her monstrous goons. Gordon catches the one from earlier and as he dangles out the window pulling him bat wings sprout from his back.

Barnes is angry at Gordon and Bullock for different reasons. He wheezes as they leave, could Jim be the commissioner by the season’s end?

Ivy and Cat talk again, and Ivy wants to join in the fun. Cat rebuffs her and leaves her alone, but the Doppelgänger appears. Ivy talks of Bruce Wayne and he begs to find more about him.

It turns out Butch brought in the thug to steal Babs’ club. Penguin kills the goon and they head out.

Fish talks to Peabody and tells her if she keeps using the power she will be hurt. The only one who can help her is Strange of course. Fish wants an army, an army like her, that is a frightening thought. In a show of power Fish has one of her monsters kill of Peabody.

Ivy is caught spying and is beset upon by the monsters. Running away she falls into a hole in the ground. Cat cries over the whole thinking her dead. Gordon sits in a bar as Barnes readies his cops, Babs and Tabby toast to their success, and Valerie readies her pictures.

Alfred and Bruce are in the manor and the Butler sends him off. The assassin comes in and has a scuffle with Alfred. For an older gentleman Pertwee is a brilliant fighter. But he is subdued by the assassin. The man knocks out Bruce and walks out.

Such a stellar opening for a season. This show really does deliver on so many levels. This really set things up for an amazing season! I cannot wait for next week’s episode Burn the Witch.

Pokemon Generations Episode 1 and 2, “The Adventure” and “The Chase”

Pokemon Generations is finally upon us and it really is something to behold. Fans have been clamoring for an anime of any size really based on the games. This is the Pokemon Company’s answer to this plea.

The first episode is really wonderful. First it opens up like the original Pokemon Red Version. Everything iconic about that opening is present. The a cursor moves down to continue his game. It starts out with Red and his Bulbasaur taking on a Pikachu. Red immediately throws a Pokeball and catches Pikachu immediately. He then sends it out and it begins to run.

Pikachu runs into a Caterpie and a heated battle starts up. Pikachu soundly defeats it and continues his charge. Then scenes from every region occur one after the other ending with a legendary appearance. This is just really something to be seen. Nostalgia rushed through me as I watched it. I was literally beaming just watching this because clearly Pokemon is something I really enjoy.

This episode does end somewhat abruptly but that is okay. It is definitely worth the watch because of the animation quality and this wonderful journey of Red and Pikachu.

The second episode is quite different and involves the detective Looker looking for Giovanni the leader of Team Rocket. He has been trying to find this mastermind for the longest time but to no avail.

The cool thing is this takes place right after Red and Blue have defeated him. In the games after Red defeats Giovanni, Giovanni does vanish. There is no way a leader of a notorious crime corporation would stay around.

Looker and his police have already cleared up the Celadon Game Corner which is notorious for selling Pokemon for chips. They find out that Giovanni may be holed up in Virdian Gym. They bust in with their Pokemon but find the Gym to be empty. There are burn marks which are clearly from Red and Giovanni’s battle.

The end of the episode shows Giovanni wearing his Heart Gold and Soul Silver outfit. He remarks that Pokemon were created for the sole use of Team Rocket. Then he puts on his hat and walks off. Team Rocket might be done for now, but is it done forever?

I really enjoyed both of these shorts and can’t wait for the other 16 shorts which will be coming up until December 23rd. The Pokemon company is pulling out all the stops for the 20th Anniversary. With all this hard work I am even more excited for Sun and Moon on November 18th!

 

Amazing World Of Gumball SN6 EP4 – ‘The Boredom’

Gumball and Darwin sit bored in their room. As they sit Darwin’s butt becomes fossilized to the carpet and then Gumball is rooted in place. This show is really so clever and punny. Unbeknownst to them the world actually very interesting.

The moon and the sun who are a couple in certain episodes are fighting. The moon wants to light the planet but obviously can’t. She says she wants to fight the sun who points out she can’t as he is 9.5 million miles away.

The Police Chief who is actually a doughnut is throwing donuts into his mouth. As he empties the box he begins driving fast to the doughnut shop. He speeds past another cop who calls him on his car radio and tells him about a speeder. Everyday at four he rushes to get donuts and thus is always the speeder he is chasing. So its quite humorous.

Banana Joe tries out a light saber but is to stupid to use it right. After he is given a lollipop the scientist throws out the saber in a dumpster filled with his other inventions. They are all actually brilliant inventions like a time machine and a hover board.

The Fingerprint bandit sings a song, talking about why he went to crime. He just wants to apologize but ends up stealing a car in the end.

They head to the mall in hopes of something else cool happening. There is a ridiculous scene that plays out but it ends up blocking out the cool bits. Of course this just makes Gumball give up as he is prone to do.

Gumball and Darwin head home and sit there watching the clock. As they sit there bored their house is lifted up by a crane. First the town rolls by and then shots of Clarence, Regular Show, and Uncle Grandpa show up. This is the first time Gumball has had a crossover with any show. I always think crossovers are something fun, and like that this happened.

Suddenly there is a knock at the door and a dwarf who is clearly a reference to Gimli from Lord of the Rings appears. He tells them he has a quest and needs two brave souls. Gumball and Darwin point him to two nerdy guys who love fantasy.

In another reference the nerds fly off on Falkor or at least a creature resembling him.

Gumball muses that life doesn’t just knock on your door it is up to you to make your own life. Darwin suggests they do something but Gumball says he isn’t a doer, he is a moaner. This episode is really good. It showcases other characters in their odd lives but ties it up with Gumball’s thoughts. When you are a kid boredom can seem like its always around. Gumball was right that it is up to you to make your life what you want it to be. If Gumball wasn’t a moaner I don’t think this show would be half as funny. His attitude about life does drive the show in many ways.

Steven Universe SN4 EP7 – ‘Onion Gang’

Onion Gang starts off with Steven and Onion bouncing on the couch. Steven is tired because they’ve been doing it for two hours. We find that out through Steven’s game where he talks through what Onion is doing and thinking.

Onion hears his dad coming in from his fishing work and runs out of the house. The next day he returns and offers Steven his hand. Leading him on a walk he guides Steven to a clearing in the woods.

Suddenly they are beset by masked beings. The masks look similar to Shy Guys and I find that to be humorous. As the attack him Steven thinks he is done for but soon realizes he is safe. They take off their masks to reveal they are just kids.

The first kid only can say Garbanzo which is his name. He has his baby sister in his backpack and Steven guesses correctly that her name is pinto. Another boy lifts up his hat to reveal his name is Squash while the last child is named Soup. Onion’s gang of friends are all named after food and that is humorous as well.

Steven hangs out with these kids who really aren’t necessarily sane. Their choice of activities are slightly suspect just like Onion has been this entire time. The first thing they do is show off a car they built. As they drive around they crash and Garbanzo who is driving falls off. He smashes a ketchup packet on his face and pretends to have died. This is a pretty powerful scene just because of Steven’s reaction. He immediately thinks the boy has died and wants to call the cops. Onion stops him and he realizes it is all a joke.

They then take out a trench coat and pretend to be a grown up. Steven who is just a good boy tries to really act like an adult. The kids open the jacket and take a picture surprising the gentleman Steven is talking to. They show off that they have done this to many people in town and have their pictures on display.

The last little game they play is a live bug race. Steven picks a stag beetle and it wins. They bring him to a stump and give him a hammer telling him to squish the bug. Steven is not one to cause anyone pain and drops the hammer running away. He thinks Onion is acting like his friend because he pities him.

He runs home and soon Onion comes to find him. He breaks the screen door to drop off Steven’s stag beetle and he has a change of heart. He runs after Onion and finds that his friends are leaving. It turns out they are just summer friends, and they have to leave. Steven tells Onion that he will always have him to play with if he’d like that.

This is a really sweet episode that introduces us to a side of Onion we haven’t seen before. It is also touching because it shows off what kids feel in a genuine way. When you have friends that you only see certain parts of the year every moment and memory is far more special. I really enjoyed seeing Onion as a true child even though he might be a little odd.

One Piece Heart Of Gold Is Getting An English Dub!

The One Piece movies are really quite amazing. They may not be canon in all ways but they add an extra layer of awesome to a series which is already so enjoyable.

The new One Piece Movie is out in Japan already and it looks like it will be dubbed as well if this news has anything to say about that.

There are always episodes that tie into the movie and lead the characters in the direction of a new foe. This episode is clearly going to lead Luffy and his crew on a journey to his next target.

I do really love seeing movies like this as they are basically action packed side stories. While the episodes are always fantastic having a movie budget doesn’t hurt. When they are feature films there is something even more spectacular about them. The artists really go for broke to make something worth watching. They know they already have viewers of the show in the bag but with such quality it isn’t hard to draw in new viewers.

I am sure just by this image alone, a person who has never seen One Piece may be inspired to watch at least some of it.

All I know is I am excited to see this episode and watch the movie that goes along with it. Until Luffy finds One Piece and probably for all the time after I will be a fan of this show and all that it is.

Shovel Knight Gets New DLC In 2017. Specter Knight Joins The Game Play Fray!

Shovel Knight is the game that just keeps on giving. This game while it may be hard for me as a non platformer type deserves all the praise it gets. I mean to keep cranking out these new games is insane.

Yacht Club Games is definitely building quite the fan base by offering all of this DLC at no cost. People are certainly doing the selling for them by just talking about this game.

I really do think Indie games can be amazing, especially with how technology is moving ahead. You never know what these indie developers will come up with and that is why it is good to support indie game development.

Shovel Knight has already had Free DLC in the form of Plague of Shadows where you play as Plague Knight. Now, it seems like just about all of these villains could get their own game which would really make Shovel Knight a legendary game.

The next one to get his due is Specter Knight who can climb up walls with his Scythe. Now, that really is an inventive way to use a scythe and I think that is awesome.

Yacht Games I salute you, and hope Shovel Knight keeps being the success it is! I am excited to try out Specter Knight’s abilities and can’t wait to see more of what these Indie developers can come up with.

Gamer Flashback: Ocarina of Time

As a young boy who grew up in a house in the woods, Ocarina of Time fit into a special place in my heart. Though I knew I’d never go on a quest like Link, it felt nice seeing that he lived in the woods.

I would roam the woods at least when I was younger and swing sticks around pretending to be Link. In fact this game was and definitely still is one of my favorite games of all time which is why I do have it on basically all the systems I own.

This game is definitely a masterpiece and should be treated with respect. The sheer size of Hyrule field and the dungeons held within really were so well crafted for their time. The infamous water temple still holds onto people even though years have passed. Exploring this world was just too much fun. Honestly if I ever have kids this will be one of the first games they play as really it is the perfect gateway to loving video games.

The humorous thing is that during my first play through I had this really intense Ocarina of Time based dream. I will always remember it because this game was just so spectacular. I remember looking out my window and seeing a ring of fire. Within the circle of flame was the wicked Gannondorf on his black steed. Link cowered before him and vanished after Gannondorf’s horse slammed his hooves into the ground after rearing his legs. In that moment I was stunned and he looked up at me with a smirk.

It was at that moment that I think I developed a true love of Zelda. It was like I had found a series that I did truly need to play. Like this evil needed to be stopped by me and that is why he smirked at me.

I played that game many times, just running around at points. It was such a large game especially for that time period and being cooped up in the woods wasn’t making me feel all that good. So exploring such a vast world really took the edge off.

I will always think highly of this game and will probably continue buying copies as they remake it. I am curious if they will remake it again as Grezzo’s 3ds remake was superb. But if they do I’m sure I will buy a copy and head back to Ocarina of Time’s Hyrule. Gannondorf knows I’m coming and I don’t want to disappoint the dark lord, do I?

First footage of the Sun and Moon Anime!

It is finally here, the first footage of the next season of Pokemon. After this thrilling season known as the Kalos saga in its entirety Pokemon is changing things up once again. What adventures await our hero Ash in Pokemon’s version of Hawaii?

Based on this trailer it looks  like Pokemon is changing up its animation style. Ash really does look completely different from any of his past appearances, not that that is a bad thing.

In this series he does in fact head back to school. He has some work to do if he is going to become the Pokemon Master he has always wanted to be.

This poster combined with this 30 second teaser shows off a good bit of information of Ash’s new journey. Look at our hero’s humorous grin. Clearly he is still going to catch Pokemon so how long will he actually be in a classroom.

In the background are many of the characters he will meet including the 7th generation Professor Kukui, Professor Oak’s cousin and the Trial Captains Lana, Mallow, Sophocles, and Kiawe. It also shows a few of the new pokemon Ash will encounter as well as highlighting the fact that Pokemon are now rideable.

In the corner it shows off Team Rocket blasting off again, but there is something interesting about this. They are clinging to the new Pokemon Bewear who will join their side I am assuming. Following them is the Pokemon Mimikyu who just wants to be loved and has disguised itself as a Pikachu to get that love. I am curious how this will all play out. They have always wanted Pikachu but have not been able to catch it. Will Mimikyu be chasing them, since it knows they really want a Pikachu. Based on their frightened looks I am thinking yes.

The Pokemon Sun and Moon Anime is arriving in Japan in November, and even though the rest of the world will wait awhile it looks worth it. The style may be different but it is clear to me as a true-blue Pokemon fan that Pokemon is still alive and well.

All I can say is Aloha Generation Seven, I do hope we get along well!

Digimon World: Next Order Is Coming 2017! Let’s Go Back To The Digital World!

Digimon is about as old as Pokemon and still has just a strong a fan base. These monsters and their human companions may not be plastered everywhere but so many people enjoy them.

After the success of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in the states it has been announced that Bandai Namco is bringing Digimon World:Next Order to the states in 2017.

I did really enjoy Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth even though I haven’t beaten everything because it is quite the game. I do really enjoy Digimon and have ever since I first watched it. Though I haven’t seen every episode of every season what I have watched is still amazing.

This series is really powerful in that most of the time these kids only have a single Digimon. They become their best friend and through love and friendship they are able to Digivolve.

Now this is an RPG similar to Cyber Sleuth. You get to raise and train over 200 different Digimon and figure out the best way for you to fight. I really enjoy monster collecting games as they offer so much customization. You can literally choose whatever monster you want in these types of games. If you like cute, there’s cute and they can honestly be just as strong as the vicious looking ones.

This game takes place in the Digital World, the lush and verdant one unlike Cyber Sleuth which was corrupted. I do think it really looks lovely when it is all so natural and serene. Except of course for Digimon roaming free and doing as they please.

This game really looks like a fun one and I am happy to see it come to the states. Maybe it will inspire young kids to dive into this series. It is always easier for newbies to find the series in their own way and if its games, that works fine!

Again Digimon World:  Next Order comes out next year! If you like Digimon you may just feel that nostalgic tug and want to head into the Digital World for yourself.

Big Bang Theory Season 10 Trailer Released

The first Big Bang Theory Trailer has been posted and boy howdy does it look like a crazy one. In the brief scene it shows off Penny’s Family Dynamic.

Clearly there is a lot of issues within this Family of Four and a lot of humor to go along with it.  Penny’s father has been seen multiple times throughout the series but this is the first time her mother and brother have been seen.

I can’t wait to see more of this episode and see how these characters end up interacting with the cast. They really do look like they could be a family in some weird way and I think that is the part of Television’s magic. These casting executives really know what they are doing when they can take four people with no genetic connection and you can believe they are family.

Penny is definitely a daddy’s girl as is clear from the past episodes. Her father wanted Leonard to marry Penny since he came clean about their breakup. I am glad that he was able to see this wish fulfilled.

Penny’s mother played by Katey Segal is interestingly enough playing her mother for the second time after 8 Simple Rules. Jack McBrayer is on point as the recently released druggie and Penny’s brother. Clearly different from other roles because usually he plays a goody two shoes type. I am curious to see how he plays this character.

All in all this looks like quite the episode and I can’t wait until September 19th to see how this all unfolds. The pictures of the wedding are really lovely and I am glad that they are actually going to have the wedding shown.
