Vinny Is Back In The Premiere Of Family Guy Season 15

Family Guy is coming back on September 25th and bringing in a familiar character. That’s right Vinny is coming back! He might have only been around for a couple of episodes before they brought Brian back from the dead but Vinny was well received.

Though this may just be a cameo if he comes back like this, he could always join the family again. Or he could be part of a Brian and Stewie adventure at least.

I’m excited to see the 15th season of Family Guy and hope that Vinny’s cameo isn’t just a one shot thing as he is a great character. How can you not like a suspicious mobster like dog? Tony Sirico’s voice really works with the character too!

Big Bang Theory Season 10 Premiere News!

Big Bang Theory Season 10 is coming up soon, on September 19th and it sounds like it’s going to be a doozy. Picking up where last season ended, we are going to have to deal with a lot of awkwardness.

Leonard’s Father Alfred and Sheldon’s Mother Mary have spent the night together, and they weren’t just sleeping. So of course the boys will have to deal with the awkwardness of knowing that their parents are dating. It could be humorous if the pair got married though as then Leonard and Sheldon would be step brothers.

Also adding to the craziness is Penny’s Mother played by Katy Sagal and her brother played by Jack McBrayer. We haven’t seen either of these characters but Penny’s brother has been in jail for drugs dealing and was just released do to over crowding.

I’m curious how this will all play out as Leonard and Penny re do their wedding. I’m excited for the 10th season and hope you are all excited too!

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo?!

It has been announced through the Korean rating board that a demo for Pokemon Sun and Moon will be released. This is great news for Pokemon fans as even though it hasn’t been announced for anywhere but Korea, everyone else should probably get this demo.

When they released Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire they also had a demo which was great. It let you jump into the Pokemon world and do a little battling gaining items and even a mega stone to mega evolve either Glalie or Steelix.

This was a great way to build excitement for the game as it was something you could play up to ten times and get different rewards. Chances are this Sun and Moon demo will be in the same vein and I am excited to see what they have come up with in terms of the demo.

Steven Universe SN4 EP5 – ‘Future Boy Zoltron’

Steven Universe is back at it again in another new episode. This time focusing not on a gem fight but on a few residents in Beach city.

Steven sees Mr.Smiley the resident who owns the great Funland Arcade setting up a mysterious new attraction. This fortune tell who is called Future Boy Zoltron, is reminiscent of Zoltar from the movie Big.

He goes over excited to find out about this new attraction and finds that it isn’t quite as great as is and even ends up breaking it in the process. To compensate Mr.Smiley Steven agrees to dress up as Zoltron and answer questions.

Steven is able to answer many people’s questions with his eager attitude and advice doing wonders for the people who ask for advice. Suddenly a sad man appears before Steven and asks him a question.

He is curious if anything will make him happy and Steven cannot think of an answer as he keeps asking more depressing questions. Steven finally gets him to go away by pretending to be malfunctioning. He wishes he had future sight and that is when Garnet appears.

Garnet has future vision and kissing Steven on the head, she loans it to him for a while. This is a beautiful part of the episode as Steven sees three ways the situation could play out. When the man asks the question Steven however again only sees sadness in his future. The man sighs and reveals himself to be Mr.Frownie and that he is in fact looking for Mr.Smiley.

Earlier in the episode Mr.Smiley said he was once a comedian and it turns out he was part of a duo with the aforementioned Mr.Frownie. At Steven’s urging Mr.Smiley follows Mr.Frownie to the bus stop.

This show is beautiful for many reasons and this episode showcases it. The two old friends talk and their emotions are laid bare. Mr.Frownie just wanted his friend to be serious and Mr.Smiley just wanted his friend to have fun.  It was touching seeing these two characters work out a problem that had been hiding for years.

In a surprising turn of events Mr.Smiley makes his old friend laugh. He says his goodbyes and it is clear that Mr.Frownie has turned a corner. Truly this episode that really just revolved around three characters was great in my book. Steven Universe shows that you can have an episode of a cartoon not be action packed and it will still be great.

Nintendo Brings In The 3DS Big Guns With Today’s Nintendo Direct

The first Nintendo Direct in a long while is today. I was so excited and rightfully so, this was a splendid direct.

So much news was revealed and I love it.

Obviously Pokemon Sun and Moon is coming on November 18th of this year. They even showed off Alolan Rattatta.

There will also be a special Munchlax given away at the release of the game. This Snorlax is equipped with a special Z move Pulverizing Pancake. It looks like a pretty righteous move for the big guy.

The smash hit Mario Maker is coming to 3DS for Mario making levels on the go. With 100 levels made by Nintendo included and medal missions to complete this should be the start of a new world for Mario Maker. This version may not have costumes but that’s okay it is really focused on creation. You can share your courses locally or through street pass, and even collaborate with a friend on a level!

Mario Party Star Rush launches November 11th. This game will also launch with new Amiibo including Waluigi who is a high demand Amiibo character. Plus Glow in the Dark Boo is also released then.

With eight different game modes, multiplayer and all the characters you know and love this could be a good Mario Party.

After being released in 2012 Animal Crossing New Leaf is becoming new again. Finally this game is adding Amiibo compatibility. With 50 new amiibo cards featuring new characters and their mobile homes.

Street Pass is getting an upgrade. If you are a premium Street Pass user you can gather 100 people via Street Pass, 10 times the normal amount. There will also be a stream lined version of the plaza which will make it all go so much quicker.

Plus with 5 new games coming out for the plaza there is even more incentive to play around there. Plus, you get either Slot Car Rivals or Market Crashers for free!

Tank Troopers which is coming out this Winter looks to be a fun and frantic Tank battling game. With a zany cast of characters, it could be quite the game.

Picross 3D 2 is also on its way with a demo out today.

There are also new Amiibo launching for The Legend of Zelda’s 30 the anniversary. These include an 8 bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link playing his ocarina and Wind waker Zelda and Link. Today also marks the release of the spirit tracks and phantom hourglass pack in Hyrule Warriors Legends for 3DS. With Toon Zelda joining the fray it makes sense for her to get an amiibo.

Skyward Sword the Wii U edition is out on the Wii U’s eshop today

Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice comes out September 8th.

Dragon Quest VIII has been delayed to 2017 and it still looks like it will be a glorious remake.

Also announced was the remake of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Lost City

Yokai Watch is going Pokemon style with Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls. There is even a physical medal that unlocks a  special move for Jibanyan. This game is a sequel to the first one but ends up taking place half in modern Springdale and half in old Springdale.There is also a demo coming in mid September!

Disney Magical World 2 comes out  on October 14th. I’ve heard the first one was rather good, so this one should be even better. All of your favorite disney characters live here and you can play with them. You can even fight monsters.

There is a new Galaxy styled 3DS coming out. It looks really cool. Also you can get the Super Mario 3d Land bundle for 149.99$

Sonic Boom Fire and Ice is coming out on the 27th.

Shin Megan Tensei IV Apocalypse is coming out on the 20th. The first round of release will include a metal badge.

Yoshi’s Wooly World is also coming to 3DS. This is a updated version of the Wii U edition with Pooch levels and Finding lost Poochy pups

Ever Oasis is also coming out next year. I think it looks like a charming game as you have to make your oasis the best. Who doesn’t want to help people living in a desert?

Super Mario Sport Stars is coming out later this year

Pikmin is coming to 3DS! It holds the charm of the console game in a smaller more Pikmin like size.

Wow, they really did pull out all the stops. The end of 2016 is looking bright for 3DS as is the beginning of 2017. Can’t wait to find out what is coming for Wii U and NX in the future!

 

What Are Ya Playin? September 1st 2016

Hello all, I’m Stark and I’m here to introduce a new part of the gaming side of Skatronixxx. Even though we are a news site we are also out to share our own insights on the world. Thus we are bringing in this new idea where us gamers will tell the public what games we are playing periodically. If you haven’t gathered, the title of this series is a twist on the Weapon Merchant from Resident Evil 4’s speech.

As a gamer I enjoy a wide variety of games, and currently am playing quite a few while also waiting for more games to come out.

Currently I am playing Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure which I just bought as it was on sale on the Eshop. It is a rather charming game that is partially voiced and animated. I think it really is a good game even though I’m not usually a rhythm gamer.

I also took the opporotunity to buy Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars as it was also on sale. This game is an anime style RPG that tells the story of a world where monsters have begun appearing. It is up to young people from the age of 17 and 18 to take out these beasts. But there is something that makes this game different, the main character and the ladies he works with make children. Now these aren’t normal children, they are magical star children born surprisingly from a matryoshka.

I’m also playing Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch which is a splendid game from 2013 created by Level 5 and the wonderful Studio Ghibli. It tells the story of Oliver who after a loss is transported to another world to save it from evil. I am enthralled as I am a big Studio Ghibli fan, and was never able to play it as I didn’t have a PS3.

I also played the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice demo which was a great introduction to the new ideas in the upcoming game which comes out in a week.

I’m excited for September as Yokai Watch 2 also comes out and Pokemon Sun and Moon comes out in less then three months.

You’re The Worst, SN3 EP 1 – ‘Try Real Hard’

You’re the worst’s first episode of season 3 begins with the duo having sex. They are quite happy, happier then they have ever been. Gretchen tells Jimmy that she loves him and Jimmy is disgusted because he doesn’t remember saying it as he was blackout drunk. She then tells him that she is going to shower and in a hilarious moment tells him that she doesn’t wash her legs.

Edgar and his lady love Dorothy are doing quite well also or so it seems. Edgar is attempting to pleasure her and it is working but she wants something more. He tells her that he is just out to pleasure her and she asks if this is his way of apologizing for not moving in with her.

Lindsay and Paul are back together and Paul has given up all is nerdy loves for her as he knows they drove them apart. He has a present for her and he hopes that, that evening they will have a wonderful night.  Lindsay is also ecstatic because she thinks Paul is turning a corner.

Edgar talks to Jimmy about his problems in bed and Jimmy is disgusted by the thought of his friend’s “little friend”. Jimmy suggests Edgar and Dorothy role play as he thinks Edgar’s “little friend” is just bored.

Jimmy and Gretchen talk at the bar as Gretchen makes Jimmy drink. After finding out about the fact that she does not wash her legs, and he asks more about her. Gretchen tells him a list of different things about her including being attacked by an owl at bible camp, that she has never eaten a blueberry because they look like baby doll eyes, and that she participated the US Teen Nationals for “Horsery” as she calls it.

Lindsay and Gretchen are hanging out when her client’s for the music industry decide to interrupt. He tells her that Jimmy does not love her as men do it with action not words. He tells her there can be no press release. Gretchen is dumbfounded but relents as this is a secret reunion show.

Edgar tells Lindsay that his drugs stop his libido from working properly. She decides to make a joke about him not getting hard when he tells her things are so hard.

Sam the rapper that Gretchen represents is pissed that no one has showed up for their secret show. Gretchen runs out and is able to coerce a Spanish church filled with people with an excellent speech in Spanish into coming to the show.

Gretchen tells Jimmy that she always has one foot out the door and he is able to say I love you. Everything is now back to normal between the two yet at another level as they both have grown since their first encounter in season 1.

Dorothy is in it for the long haul with Edgar and he dumps his drugs into the toilet so he can actually pleasure her. This can’t possibly end well, but in the face of love people do crazy things.

Paul and Lindsay’s date night is driving Lindsay crazy. He is trying to make them a family since she is pregnant with his child. She stabs him in the side with a knife when he says there will never be any surprises.

Really quite the opener for a third season. It definitely shows that this season will revolve around the ideas of Edgar’s PTSD and Gretchen’s therapy among other things. I enjoyed hearing all of Gretchen’s secrets. I really do root for Jimmy and Gretchen even though they are fundamentally both the worst they are amazing together, and now that she is working to fix herself I am rooting for them even more.

I’m excited for what will happen in next week’s episode “Fix me, Dummy”.

You’re The Worst Returns Tonight For Season 3 And Why It’s Worth A Watch

You’re the worst is the anti-romantic comedy, a story of love that is so twisted it’s quite real. Now, I have obviously been watching since the first episode as many others have. This show started out with a decent fan base that grew because of how real and vicious these characters are.

Jimmy and Gretchen are two of the worst people out there. Sure they both are good looking people and super smart but they are terrible. The pilot episode really puts it all out there, and sets you up for what the show is about. I immediately enjoyed the show, and not just because Gretchen is played by  the fiery red headed Aya Cash. The show drew me in and did not let me go, the characters are truly funny and quite unique. I feel I actually resonate quite well with Jimmy and not because we share the same name or that we are both writers.

This show came along and I realized that on some level I am the worst. That is okay, not everyone can be the best and I am okay with that. Though I also have a few narcissistic tendencies like Jimmy, I will accept my faults as Jimmy has actually grown during these last two seasons. Now I’m not saying he is perfect because he will probably never be, but he has made strides and so has Gretchen.

These characters are joined by a cast of characters including Gretchen’s now formerly married best friend Lindsay who just wants to have fun and Edgar Jimmy’s best friend and a survivor of war. These characters all have a lot of fun and are all growing and changing with every episode. I really do wonder where they will all be at the end of the third season.

Anyway, this show is spectacular and you should all watch it. With a kickass theme song that draws you in and a cast of characters worth getting to know this show deserves all the praise it gets. So do yourselves a favor and at least watch the first episode, see what it’s all about.

Nintendo Is Finally Directing Our Eyes To The Future With A 3DS Based Direct On September 1st!

I love Nintendo, and I love hearing about new games coming out on their systems. I also really do love their Nintendo Directs which we have not gotten since March. Now I know we got footage on the E3 Floor but that was not a direct.

A direct is a magical thing in that it shows the people behind the games, the ones championing them and their reactions. When I see Bill Trinen or Reggie Fils-Aime or any of the greats including Aonuma or Miyamoto I smile. These guys work with and love games. They love Nintendo and I know they love their fans.

Watching directs is something I look forward too, they are like random gifts because usually they aren’t announced until they are literally coming.

September 1st at 10am EST I will be covering this direct and all of the goodies that come out of Nintendo’s treasure chest. I cannot wait to see and hear what they have in store for us and I hope you can’t either.

The Grimm Reaper Comes For Grimm, Grimm’s Final Season Announced

Since 2011 Nick Burkhardt has been battling monsters, first they came from old stories and then they began to come from just about everywhere. It was interesting seeing what myths and stories were actually out there, because really nothing was off limits if they could make it work.

I have really enjoyed every episode of Grimm and I think the cast is spectacular. I love how the characters have evolved from the beginning of the show to now. So many twists and turns some inevitable and some so shocking my jaw literally dropped or I said “Oh, Damn”.

This show is something that I started watching when it began and immediately enjoyed even though I don’t usually watch cop shows. Of course that probably has to do with the intense fantasy element of the show. While, yes it is a cop show this fantasy component brings it to the next level and makes it really something worth watching.

I am sad to see this show go, but I’m also so excited to see it end. There are some burning questions I and other fans of the show could have. If you have not seen it I’d say check it out. It really is a good show and I’m sure many people could find at least one thing that makes it worth watching.

I for one can’t wait for January 6th of 2017 for Grimm’s final season, when I can say, “Thank Grimm it’s Friday” once more.
