Marvel Avengers Academy has become a Winter Wonderland and is bringing in the A-Force!

Marvel Avengers Academy has been playable for about a year. They have had many different events in their run but this is the first time that the whole game has been changed. It is always interesting seeing how games evolve.

In this new update winter has come to the academy. But it isn’t all fun and games, the vicious Malkeith is here to cause trouble.

Odin is troubled by the thought of Malkeith and the Frost Giants being left to their own devices so he brings in his daughter. His daughter just happens to be Female Thor and Loki is unsure of it all.

Joining Lady Thor are She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Lady Loki, Singularity, Angela,and America Chavez. With Iron Man in a blacksmith outfit making fantasy armor for a few of these characters the Frost Giants don’t stand a chance!

There are of course tons of other goodies to make your Academy the way you want to make it. It really looks like they are going to have a pretty decent story for this event and that is always exciting.

This event will run for about a month so go and play it! Malkeith needs to be stopped and only the students of Avengers Academy can do it!

Toonami is getting a little more Super in 2017!

Toonami the amazing block on CartoonNetwork is always a treat to watch. This block made by people for the the fans and themselves is the best.

The line up is constantly changing and that is a good thing. When one show ends it’s usually followed pretty quickly by a new show.

This coming January on the 7th, three shows are coming! First is Dragon Ball Z Kai the Final Chapters which has never been seen on American TV. This will cover the Buu saga which is a fantastic saga in the series.

They have also acquired the rights to Dragon Ball Z Super the true continuation of Dragon Ball Z. After the previous sequel series GT failed this will be legendary. All of the original voice actors are back in the Dub which is premiering on Toonami!

Also joining the block after Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans finishes it’s run is another Gundam series! Yes that is right Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is taking over. The universe will once be saved by the Gundam!

Toonami is looking to get better and better so keep watching. Tom  and Sara are ready to fly the Vindication into the great world of amazing Anime and Cartoons!

Gotham S3 E11 Mad City: Beware the Green Eyed Monster

Alice Tech’s blood is on lockdown in a lab. Mario finds the man who is working with it and kills him imagining him to be Jim. 

Bullock comes into to stop Gordon from working on the case but Gordon won’t have it. 

Barbara comes in to see Nygma and he is waiting for who killed Isabella to show themselves. Babsy gets Nygma to realize that Oswald loves him and killed Isabella. This scene is just a fantastic example of Gotham’s greatness.

Bruce is headed to take down the Court of Owls. Of course he’s going in with Cat to take down the Court.

Jim goes to the lab where the murdered man works. Mario immediately throws him through a wall. He really is just a sick pup now that the Tech Virus has taken hold.

Gordon wakes up with the cops and soon heads off to Arkham. He meets the Mad Hatter demanding what he knows about this infected man. The hatter is such a good villain, a fantastic addition to this developing world.

Through rhyme Gordon gets the Hatter to spill the identity. He gets Mario Arrested to get him tested.

Cat heads off to steal from the Court and Alfred tells her Bruce has already given so much for her. Alfred and Bruce head off after her because they were planning on doing the crime anyway. At the court Talon the assassin is killing the remnants of the Whisper Gang.

Riddler resigns from Penguin’s office and is rebuffed. He has set up a plan to find out if Penguin really did the crime. Penguin really has messed things up for himself and he doesn’t even know it.

Gordon and Mario have another encounter and he brings in the one and only Victor Zsaz when Gordon draws his gun.

Mario has Zsaz lock him down so he can get closer to marry Lee. Gordon knocks him out and gets out of there. 

Riddler is at another event for Penguin and he imagines killing him. I am glad that there friendship is started to unwind. 

Gordon goes to see Lee to stop her marrying Mario. She won’t have any of it because Gordon has fallen into Mario’s trap. Gordon tells her he loves her and that he did come eventually after prison. That is the final nail and she has Carmine send hin out of the church.

This next scene is rather haunting in a way. Lee getting married as Gordon loses to the guards. It’s as if their wedding is beating him both physically and mentally. 

Bruce and Alfred are scoping out the Court. Alfred won’t do it but Selina comes in and the plan commences. A man watches from afar, I’m curious who this character is.

Bullock looks for Jim as he tossed out of a Falcone car. Alfred distracts the guards as Bruce and Cat break in. Joining them they split off to dodge a laser trap. Their love is something that really is beautiful as it gives Bruce strength. 

Talon pushes Bruce knocking Cat off into the trap. Bruce saves her and Alfred tussles with Talon. The masked man knocks out Talon who Alfred kills. The man is actually Selina’s mother which shocks her.

Lee and Mario have snuck away and Gordon is saddened. Nygma goes to join Babsy so he can destroy Penguin. Babsy reveals her endgame, she wants control of the Gotham underworld. She has him apologize for lobbing off Tabitha’s hand.

Mario and Lee headed to Falcon’s safe house. Lee and Mario are happy it seems. Gordon goes to tell Falcone that Mario is infected. Jim goes to bring Mario in as he is about to kill Lee. Gordon shoots quickly and ends Mario.

Planet Coaster, to me a callback to Roller Coaster Tycoon

Planet Coaster came out yesterday in fact, and I was able to play it early. This game is excellently made and is along the lines of the old Roller Coaster Tycoon Games. This game to me is far more robust as there is so much to do.

The game begins with you making your own avatar who will represent you and all you do in the game. You can dress them and design them and make them your own. You are then told to place a base on the planet to show where you are from. It is really cool seeing people play it and seeing where they are actually from.

There are a myriad of game modes to play and I think they really would have hours of play time. You can jump into the Campaign which is lead by different characters. The first is a pirate and he will guide you through the beginning processes of playing the game. There are even three different ranks to play through that get harder as you move on.

The game also of course being a sandbox game offers you the chance to make whatever theme park you could want with unlimited cash in hand.With six different locales to build your dream park I’m sure you could certainly play for as long as you wanted.

There is also a fantastic community which obviously is just beginning. You can build coasters and share them online so anyone can use these rides in their own parks. I think that is definitely one of the great things about games like this, people can really come together playing them.

Planet Coaster really seems to be the next big thing in themepark creation games and I am excited to delve deeper into creating my own parks. With such a robust set of creation tools and challenges this looks to be a game to come back to even if it is in short spurts. Planet Coaster is out now on PC from Steam and if you enjoyed Roller Coaster Tycoon you will certainly enjoy this wonderful game.

Steven Universe S4 E8 ‘Gem Harvest’

Stevn arrives at the barn to spend the night. He walks through a corn field and finds them having a nice time. They both think corn are like crystal gems. Steven licks a pumpkin seed since he has special powers.

Peridot is surprised by a pumpkin dog that Steven grew. Steven tells them he did it. They are both down about it and Steven tries to help.

Suddenly the owner of the barn flies in angry by what they have done to the barn. They call Greg who brings the Gems along.

Andy turns out to be Stevens uncle. They all decide to have a big meal so Andy will see the Gems as family.

They gather food for the meal and use Andy’s propeller as a way to cook the food.

Andy is finally broken by the Gems trying to celebrate all of a human’s life events.

They have dinner outside and it is quite nice. Andy runs away because he hates change. Steven tells him that he wants to be his family because he has never learned what it means to be human.

Andy saves Steven when he falls off the his plane and comes back with him.

American Dad S12 E3 ‘ The Enlightenment of Ragi-Baba’

Roger deals with the loss of one of his alter egos mixing career. The woman they replace her with looks close to Roger which is unsettling. Haley brings Roger to meditate to heal him.

Francine makes reservations for Sushi and Stan begrudgingly accepts. Stan is hilarious because he really isn’t a fan of change.

Stan and Steve are changed by the power of Sushi. Haley is angered by Roger taking over her meditation center.

Stan and Steve learn the way of the sushi chef. Roger ends up on Tv talking about his meditation prowess. Roger ends up going into the mountains to find himself.

Stan and Steve find out the horrid secrets of the sushi chef. Roger hates the special collective his fans have made.

The Sushi chef gives the Sushi shop to Stan and Steve and they fire his son. Roger meditates for the first time and he and Haley go on a mind journey. Roger decides to leave Nirvana because he loves his material possessions.

Francine is upset that Stan and Steve have taken over the Sushi hut.

You’re the Worst S3 1 Hr Finale ‘You knew it was a snake/No longer just us’

It’s here the season finale of You’re the Worst and after the last episode I’m curious what will happen. Jimmy wakes up Gretchen reading his work to her to prove he will be successful. Jimmy won’t take back the fact that he won’t have kids with Gretchen because of her track record with Iphones. Lindsay suddenly wakes up with out clothes on after dumping Paul.

Edgar and Dorothy are not having the best time since Edgar ditched her to write sketches. Edgar is offended that she thinks he was only hired because he is Latino.

Paul suddenly comes in upset with Lindsay who had an abortion without consulting him. She takes him down a notch by repeating My Body My Choice, and he is dumbfounded when she goes outside to smoke without clothes on.

Dorothy is trying to talk Edgar into thinking that she isn’t a little racist towards Hispanics. Edgar tells Dorothy that he thinks she has the advantage being a woman. But none of this offends more than Jimmy and Paul saying they have more trouble then them.

Paul and Lindsay fight and Paul even tells Gretchen to shut up. It is interesting how anger can change someone.

Jimmy and Gretchen talk about how they have no idea how they got here. Jimmy offends her and she storms off.

Edgar and Dorothy continue their fight with Edgar  saying he thinks Dorothy only likes him when he struggles. Paul and Lindsay fight about their lives and how they both have different ideas about things. Gretchen yells at Jimmy for breaking down her hypothetical idea. Dorothy tells Edgar that she is at her lowest and she needs him. Paul freaks out and calls Lindsay his bad luck. Jimmy and Gretchen halt their fight when they hear Lindsay and Paul fighting.

Lindsay calms Paul by telling him he knew what Lindsay was when he met her. How could someone not know what their spouse is, he certainly did. The fights stop when the couples get a text saying that Vernon and Becca had a baby. But suddenly Jimmy and Gretchen’s fight starts over and they argue about who is more broken. Jimmy and Gretchen let it all out and they both realize how broken they both are.

Jimmy questions Gretchen about why she didn’t leave and she asks why he didn’t. Jimmy argues that most relationships end in failure and that they are a success because they tried.He tells her that she has been the one fueling his writing and he reads his story to her.

Dorothy gives up the ghost and tells Edgar that she is insecure because he is successful. Edgar is given a job working in a writers room for 3 months and he lies to Dorothy to spare her feelings. This certainly won’t cause trouble for him later right?

Paul and Lindsay reconcile a little and Paul realizes they just aren’t meant to be. Paul tells her that she “Better lawyer up bitch” when she asks for him to rip up the Pre-nup as he heads out. Gretchen breaks a ninth Iphone as Jimmy falls asleep on her.

The last episode of the season begins with Gretchen and Jimmy at a bar, Jimmy reading the end of his novel to her. Jimmy identifies himself as Post-Family and is then disgusted when Gretchen is excited about a near by murder. Which is a legitimate thought as murder shouldn’t excite people…

Edgar makes Lindsay breakfast sushi and talks about how  he is troubled about telling her about his own good fortune. Jimmy and Gretchen are disgusted by a photo of Becca’s baby sent to their phones. They see cops outside and disguise themselves so they can toss out anything that might get them in trouble.

Paul begins his divorce with Lindsay and offers her 2000 a month so he can watch Lindsay burn. Edgar goes to see his boss and tell him he can’t do the show because his girlfriend is so down. He decides not to quit and heads off with a new bit to film.

Gretchen and Jimmy are walking through the park annoyed with more pictures of Becca’s baby. Jimmy and Gretchen talk about their future babies and look at children not realizing how awful they are being.

Paul writes Lindsay a check and she takes a picture of a check thinking it will be deposited instantly. Lindsay throws it back in his face by saying how stupid he is for letting her cuckold him.Vernon isn’t going to leave with Paul as he loves his baby and soon the trio send him off.

Gretchen takes Jimmy to find her therapist and they find out she has been telling her friends about her. Her therapist is leaving for Iowa to be there for her boyfriend but does tell she is proud of her. A nice end to a solid arc that helped Gretchen.

Edgar goes to tell Dorothy about his job and that he is ready to support her as a full person.Dorothy has come to the conclusion she won’t make it and is moving back to Florida. Edgar of course loves her and wants to leave with her.

Lindsay asks Becca if she can move in with them and is accepted if she nannies the baby. Becca then goes off and shows how sad she is that she will have to raise this baby with an idiot like Vernon.

Edgar takes Lindsay to Dorothy’s old apartment so she can take on the lease. Lindsay and Edgar talk and it is a rather beautiful scene because they both feel good about life. For the first time Lindsay is going to try to be an adult and that is a great thing.

Jimmy and Gretchen are walking to find the murder site and Jimmy smiles at how excited Gretchen is. They both agree that they both hate everyone but the other. Suddenly praising Gretchen for her going to therapy Jimmy proposes to her. He planned the whole thing about the murder so he could propose to her. She says yes so happy that he made a murder for her.

Gretchen and Jimmy decide to sleep together outside when she calls them a family. Jimmy goes to get a hoodie from the car and drives off freaking out about what she said. The screen splits and both of them look sad knowing that something awful has occurred after a great moment.

This season finale was absolutely brilliant and freed our characters from relationships. Hopefully though Jimmy and Gretchen fix things and stay together because they are this shows life blood. I cannot wait for Season 4 to see what becomes of all of these characters.

 

 

 

 

Review: Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon is 20 years old and this series really has stood the test of time. This game is a testament to all the greatness of the series as well as a great start for new players.

Taking in place in the Alola region situated in what would be Hawaii, gamers are in for a tropical adventure. It really is stunning seeing how much these games have grown since Pokemon Red and Blue.

In this generation we got to choose from Rowlett, Litten, and Popplio for our main Pokemon. These Pokemon all evolve amazingly in their own way but I chose Rowlett.

Never have I ever seen such love for a starter honestly than the love people show for Rowlett. It is just really nice to see how much Pokemon still means to the world.

This game is fantastic especially since it really changes things up. There are no gyms like in its predecessors. The trials that replace gyms are actually far more intuitive. With interesting challenges and finally a boss battle of sorts I was impressed.

The story itself is also something to be lauded as it is rather deep. The two antagonists have their own vibes they bring to the game and what happens can truly be shocking. 

With all the new you might wonder if there is anything for old fans. Of course anyone who has played Pokemon will enjoy these games. But there are so many call backs to the other games. 

There are the Alolan forms which while they may not all be great are very well designed. You can also fight Red and Blue the original protagonists with updated looks. Plus if you read the text you will see many little connections to the original games. 

With a small but eclectic bunch of new Pokemon and all of the other favorite ones you can really craft a fantastic team. While I may have been a little sad about the small number of Pokemon it turned out to be alright in the end.

As someone who has been playing Pokemon since the beginning, I would definitely give this game great marks. It has a great story with amazing game changers and a wonderful cast of characters. Whether you are a new fan or an old one, play these games and enjoy an Alolan adventure.

Persona 5 Delayed to April 4th

The Persona Series known for its mix of high school life, Japanese Culture, and demonic beings is being pushed back once again to April.

This game already out in Japan is clearly going to be amazing as Atlus is putting all of its effort into finishing this game.

It was announced for Ps3 in Winter 2014 and has been pushed back 3 times now. I still can’t wait for this game. This will certainly not make me want the game any less that is for sure.

But the great thing is that do to this push back we will be able to play the game in dual audio on both the PS3 and PS4.

This game comes out in the West on April 4th 2017 which is about 139 days away on PS3 and PS4!

Last Man on Earth S3 E6 ‘The Open-Ended Nature of Unwitnessed Deaths’

Old Tandy wants to be friends with Lewis and alters his apology song  because Lewis misses his partner. It turns out his partner might have been able to charter a boat and could be alive but it seems unlikely as that was three years ago.

Tandy tries to get Lewis to go with him to Seattle to see if Lewis is there. Lewis is not going to go so Tandy tases him. I honestly think its odd that so many shows nowadays use Tasers at one point in time. They head out and Tandy goes on to say he looks like Lewis’ dead partner.

Carol talks Gail into being a grandmother of sorts to her future kid. They finally arrive at Lewis’ former house and Tandy forces him to write a note to Mark. It is actually a beautiful scene watching him walk through his old house. Tandy ruins the moment and Lewis pushes him out of the house in disgust.

Carol ever the extreme woman want Gail to adopt her so she can truly be the grandmother. I really enjoy how far she goes for things she loves.

Tandy and Lewis do eat together after Lewis calms down. Tandy tries to talk Lewis into writing a note by telling him a brief story about his own past.

Melissa tries to engage in sexual intercourse with Todd through a Shawshank roleplay. Todd rebuffs her because she has clearly lost it. In Shawshank style she crawls through a hole in the wall.

Gail goes to apologize but Carol acts like a teenager who is upset with her. Gail tells Carol that she once had a son and he died which is why she won’t adopt her.

Tandy and Lewis are driving back and Lewis sings with Tandy. Tandy has given Lewis hope and it looks like these two will be friends. Tandy soon decides they have one more destination.

Carol apologizes to Gail and tells her that just misses her own mother. Carol tells Gail that she loves her like a mother and Gail loves her to, soon agreeing to adopt her.

Tandy drives back to his old family house where his brother went to die. He can’t bring himself to open the door and leaves a note. He finds his old sports ball friends and brings one along.

This episode was certainly as humorous as it was poignant and that is definitely a good thing.  I really enjoy that this show can dance the line between comedy and drama at points. Excited for the next episode “Mama’s Hideaway” where it looks like our weird group become more of a family than ever before.
