Son of Zorn S1 E6 ‘A Tale of Two Zorns’

Alan, Zorn’s son walks into the room and sees his dad on the floor, but soon finds out he is his robot clone. Zorn tries to leave work and is soon tasked with working on a project with a co worker he hates.

Alan is really close to Craig and Zorn works with his coworker to figure out how to make Alan like him. He soon brings robot Zorn to his work so he can replace him. Zorn and Alan head to the game event to get the new game Alan wants because Zorn thinks of it as a quest. He might be a weird guy but he really does want to be a good father. Though this will blow up in his face since he is letting his son skip school and not telling his mom.

Zorn and Alan go through the line and Alan is weirded out by his dad as usual. Zorn’s robot and his coworker Todd connect because of what the robot says randomly. Todd thinks Zorn actually cares about what he is saying.

The robot ends up screwing up and his boss Linda calls his ex-wife. Edie fixes the robot and connects with his boss Linda on their annoyance with Zorn.

At the game store Craig appears because he wants to get the game for Alan. Zorn is of course annoyed with him appearing.

Linda and Edie talk  and drink enjoying each others company. Zorn goes to work to pick up his robot, and bumps into Todd who thinks they are friends. Zorn tells him he is looking for his robot and heads off.

Edie and Linda drink and beat up robot Zorn. Linda kisses the bot before Alan and Craig walk in. When Craig beats the bot with a frying pan, Edie attempts to fix it and activates it’s detonation mode.

Todd freaks out on Zorn but Zorn rebuffs him before heading home to destroy the robot. Alan and Craig team up and take out the robot by pouring wine on it. Alan and Zorn go and get pizza to make up for it and  the episode ends with the bot’s last words.

Another weird episode, yet one that still had some depth. It was interesting seeing the character’s try to hang out. Alan and Zorn are so different and Craig works will well with Alan which Zorn just hates. Interesting to see the two women in Zorn’s life as friends, life just got harder for Zorn I am sure.

 

We Bare Bears S3 E17 ‘Icy Nights’

Ice Bear wakes up in the fridge and decides to head out to the market. He goes to the shed and takes his roomba out to the store riding on it. He parks his Roomba and gets his groceries, looking outside he sees a bunch of white collar goons playing with it. He knocks him off  the Roomba with a clap  of his hands as the goons steal his Roomba.

Ice Bear heads to an underground bar giving the bouncers Pizza Bagels. The place is run by a russian woman who clearly has feelings for Ice Bear. Using the card his friend gave him he gets into his foe’s headquarters.He finds that they are using his Roomba in a battle bots style event.

The Roomba is the strongest  bot around and when Ice Bear tries to jump in and save it, the guys tie him up. Since he won’t give up the tech guy forces him to face his Roomba in battle. Breaking his friend out of their control with a clap he soon finds himself faced with all the bots. Taking the axe from his bot he begins taking them out but is soon overpowered. He soon watches as they destroy his friend causing him to destroy all the bots single handedly.

When he lunges towards the man he finds out the man is just a hologram.  He heads home and fixes up the bot and is happy to have his friend back.

It looks like we are in for a villain arc on We Bare Bears. Even though Nom-Nom is somewhat villainous this guy really will be the first villain. Can’t wait to see what happens in this story and how Ice Bear will get his revenge.

Bob’s Burgers S7 E8 ‘They Serve Horses, Don’t They’

Gene has hurt his arm and the kids are using this to stop working. His rival comes in to tell them that his restaurant sucks and that he has been saving 1000 a month by buying meat from a guy.

They call the guy and he talks them into a trial box. Bob doesn’t enjoy the meat but it probably is just him second guessing himself. It turns out his though was right as the health inspector Hugo comes in and tells them it is Horse meat. Bob ends up joining him on a sting operation to learn about the meat guy

Bob calls to order more meat  and Tina is freaking out because she loves Horses. Bob decides to talk to his new guy about  meat. They find out nothing about the meat guy and Hugo vows them to try it again. Louise blackmails them into letting the kids stay in the van after Tina acts weird.

Jack the meat guy invites Bob and the family to his party. They have made an impression and that is a good thing. I wonder how and if they will catch this guy in the act. He clearly is serving Horse and that is just a weird thing to serve especially if you aren’t telling the buyers.

The family heads to the party and they have to work to keep Tina in check. The party goes great for everyone except for Bob. Gene and Louise  are eating, Linda is drinking, and Tina is with her love interest Jimmy Jr.

Bob talks to Jack and he finds out that he is trying to get him in trouble. Bob runs away but Jack chases him, he soon sides down a slip n slide and throws the tape to Hugo who can’t catch. The tape doesn’t break and they turn it in.

Jack comes into apologize and Teddy is upset that he can’t have horse meat anymore. Jack reads them his new novel “Friday Night Meats” as the episode ends. In the credits the characters all slide down the slip n slide. A humorous episode that makes you think a little about what really could be in burgers. Maybe you’ve had Horse recently and haven’t known.

 

 

The Simpsons S28 E6’There Will Be Buds’

Its the opening day of Peewee Football and the town is closed so everyone can see the game. The kids don’t actually get hurt at all but the parents freak out when there is too much fog. The Peewee Football league is ended because the kids probably won’t make it to the pro league.

Kirk wants to tell them an idea about what they could do to replace the Peewee Football League. He suggests Lacrosse and show them Milhouse’s reflexes due to Lacrosse. They want him to coach but he will only do it with Homer’s help.

Homer is down on the sport until the team wins the first match. They have pizza because that is what team’s do after winning. Kirk tells Homer the story of his Lacrosse days and Homer still unsure about this friendship.

They travel for a Lacrosse tournament and Homer is weirded out by Kirk. Kirk wants to have adult fun because he has never had a male friend. The kids keep winning games and Homer is trying to be happy but he hates Kirk.

Homer gets home and goes for a walk. Soon they end up singing a song even though they are apart. Kirk saying how great it is to have a bro, while Homer laments  about he is awful. Soon they end up seeing each other as Homer tells what he really thinks of Kirk. Well looks like Homer has to fix this before the kids head to the Championship.

It’s the day of the big game and the team is ready though Kirk won’t show because of how Homer treated him. Kirk has taken all of the money out of their bank in one dollar bills. Homer goes to get him so the kids can play in the game.

He almost misses out on getting Kirk but he does end up saving the day with the help of the strippers. It is great seeing a story about Kirk that isn’t so sad as his stories are always a touch depressing. In the end the team wins the Championship and heads off for pizza. Homer and Kirk high five and break their wrists.They end up in the hospital and Homer is troubled by Kirk even more as the episode ends.

We Bare Bears S2 E16 ‘Yuri and the Ice Bear’

This story revolving around our young friend Baby Ice Bear begins in the arctic. Trying to hunt is hard for such a diminutive bear and as he does hunt he finds a tent. The signs of life are everywhere so he freaks out when the door to the tent opens.The owner of the tent is not too thrilled to see him and chases him around the tent. Doing so he twists his ankle and Ice Bear feeling bad, gives him a bandage.

The man who happens to be Russian looks outside and sees hunters wearing Polar Bear Fur. He teaches Ice Bear how to help him.We are seeing the birth of the Ice bear we know and love.

He and his new friend Yuri become friends as he works for him. Alone in the tent Ice Bear opens the chest his friend told him never to open. In a meta moment he whistles the We Bare Bears Theme song to hide the fact he opened the chest.

Ice Bear makes a wooden horse just like the photo of Yuri’s family he found in the chest. This sets Yuri off, and he yells at Ice Bear to leave. Outside he steps in a bear trap and soon the hunters are upon him. Yuri saves him but their snow mobile’s engine overheats and they are trapped between an arctic river and the hunters. He chops a portion of ice and sends our little friend out to sea.

All Ice Bear has is Yuri’s axe  and  Ice Bear knows he can now handle anything. Ice Bear really is the best character on the show and it is cool seeing his past. I do hope to see the other bear’s pasts as well in the future.

Family Guy Season 15 E5 ‘Chris Has Got a Date, Date, Date, Date, Date’

Lois tells Peter to take Meg and Chris to school so she can kill a squirrel, it turns out to be Cleveland’s step son Rallo dressed up in a squirrel costume. Chris needs to find a date to a dance after his friend Neil tells him he bringing the vice principal.

Peter is at a stop light and is doing stupid things as usual when a man mistakes him for an Uber driver. He accepts the twenty dollars because he could use the money.

Chris goes to talk to Stewie who is trying to suffocate his Teddy Bear. Stewie introduces Chris to Taylor Swift and her music before suggesting he ask her to the dance.

Peter goes to become an Uber driver and it is super easy. Stewie and Chris are in a Taylor Swift style video so they can send it to Taylor Swift. Chris makes a video himself instead and Taylor accepts. He then dumps Seamus the pirate with a wooden body who is saddened by the news.

The family is excited that Chris has a date with Taylor Swift. The family run up and talk to her except for Meg and Brian.

Peter is a terrible Uber driver of course. He doesn’t take his charge to the airport because he needs to do a few errands.

Taylor and Chris hit it off at the dance. After the dance they kiss, looks like they are a thing now. Chris is over the moon even creating art for her. Taylor wrote a song about Chris and it really upsets him. It really isn’t the nicest song obviously. They decide to head off to Taylor Swift’s house to see why she wrote the song.

Taylor apologizes to Chris and tells them to come to her concert that night. Peter is beat up by cab drivers. They light Brian’s car on fire and he is an Uber driver no more. Taylor writes a song about like Chris and the fans hate it. Chris breaks up with her so she won’t lose her fans. Brian calls an Uber and its Peter.

The episode ends with a false late night show scene. A random scene in a pretty connected episode but all Family Guy episodes have these moments.

American Dad S12 E1 ‘Father’s Daze’

The episode starts out with Stan at work being admonished for not being Father’s day worthy. It is a shame that his family didn’t celebrate such a day as father’s do deserve a day in the sun. At home Stan is down and won’t even laugh or be happy.

The family feels bad and decides to make a make up Father’s day for the following day. Stan writes everyone notes of what they should make for his make up Father’s day. Roger makes Stan question the events of the day and how it could be better. So Stan erases their memory and ala Ground Hog Day makes them live the day again.

Stan tells Roger and Klaus about his plan and Klaus tells him its honestly horrible to do this. He continues to do it until it works out just like he wanted. Steve’s friend Snot comes over and almost breaks the secret but Stan wipes his memory.

We cut to a man running for president when his running mate comes to see him he sees the Golden Turd the long running gag of the show. He kills him and is arrested, soon a maid finds it and brings it to the pope and finally he brings it to the council of Religious leaders. They must return it to Roger, but when will this happen?

Klaus goes to wake up Steve and tell him about his father’s plan. Haley and Francine come in and they find out he has been brainwashing them for six months. Stan unloads on the family saying so many terrible things they need to play a song over it. Of course due to the laws of comedy Klaus broke the memory wiper the night before.

Stan tries to apologize to the family but they will have none of it. He then shoots Roger accidentally through the ceiling. They drive to find the eraser and Stan tries to change their minds. They get the eraser but Steve stops the wiping because he realizes they should remember this day. Of course being a moron Stan doesn’t know what the reason for keeping this memory really is.

 

Family Guy S5 E4 ‘Inside Family Guy’

The episode begins with a parody of Dr.Who called Dr.Who Farted. The Dr has farted in his Tardis and he and his assistant can’t leave until it dissipates. The characters are unsure of who speaks first in the episode and we soon back out showing that it is being filmed.

The characters all talk about the show Office style starting with Lois. Lois is always having trouble with Peter cheating on her.Chris says that originally the show was all about him.

James Woods then goes to talk to Stewie who says he really does hate the show and only does it for the boost for his side business. James Woods goes into the writers room and we find out that Quagmire has found god.

Peter runs into the writer’s room angered by a script. Peter has become a terrible monster on the set and won’t even rehearse unless its with balloons. Stewie calls Fox to get Peter fired and replaced. We find out Brian was “killed off” to make a movie. Peter has no idea he was fired. There is a nice Adam West cameo where he is dressed as 1960’s Batman.

Peter finds out he was shot and killed in the next episode. We find out he is being replaced by David Spade who is playing Uncle Ricky. Peter is given one more chance but he quickly blows it. Peter decides to live in a hotel for the time being and is happy to be in a cheerio’s commercial.

Peter is having a good time not working because he can do his own thing. James Woods talks about the flashbacks and how hard they work to get these done. Peter is soon thrown out of the hotel for not paying and ends up in a terrible apartment.

The cast is about to film the first episode without Peter and we find out that David Spade is really the most annoying person to work with. Peter gets on the lot by successfully pitching a show to the network executives. Peter apologizes to everyone and he is brought back onto the show. Getting rid of David Bowie is darkly humorous as he gets Sofia Vergara deported. The last thing we find out that Peter does this thing every week, before seeing a super cut of all the times Peter was hit in the sack with a bag of nickels.

 

The Simpsons Season 28 S5 E5 ‘Trust but Clarify’

Homer and his family go to a museum and soon Homer ends up seeing the world as impressionistic art. A nice couch gag really, quite majestic really.

The episode begins with a parody of Making a Murderer revolving around Itchy of Itchy and Scratchy. Krusty soon appears on screen to peddle a candy, that is actually good unlike other things he has sold.

Homer’s ambition knocks out his apathetic side and alcoholic side. Homer now feels like he could do more if he changes up his look.

Kent Brockman is on a talk show, and performs a little Talking Heads.  Kent Brockman’s lies finally catch up to him and apologizes to the world. Right after this Brockman is fired and replaced by Arnie Pie.

Homer decides to get new clothes and of course asks for Marge’s help. Bart is out to prove Krusty’s candy is something good even though it is giving people awful side effects. Homer gets a fitted suit, and now feels like he can do anything.

Bart and Lisa sneak into Krusty’s factory and steal some chemicals to see what these candy’s are made of. Kent Brockman is looking for work but to no avail.

Homer shows off his new suit to his friends. The kids take their chemicals to Frink who finds the candy’s are filled with Formaldehyde. Brockman goes to work for a Buzzfeed type sight but isn’t what they are looking for, especially since they went bankrupt.

Homer goes to Burns for a promotion but is rebuffed because he thinks the suit is garbage.  Lisa brings her story about Krusty’s candy to Brockman who thinks he is unworthy to report any more. He heads to a former anchor support group.

Homer is about to continue trying to get a promotion when his other sensations take out his ambition and he goes to Moe. Brockman heads to show Krusty what his candy is doing to people who eat it. With this report he is back on top and has given up lying.

The Simpsons is such a classic show and it is good to see episodes based mostly on characters that don’t usually get the full spotlight. Kent Brockman really showed some depth in this episode and it was interesting see him at his lowest and highest in an episode.

Son of Zorn-S5 E5 ‘A Taste of Zephyria’

Zorn is in the office playing Minesweeper when a coworker disrupts him laughing hard. He shows him this terrible comedy about Zephyrians and this upsets Zorn to his core being a Zephyrian himself. I think its humorous that he thinks its really racist.

Zorn makes his son wear a special belt from Zephyria so he can show some respect for his nation. A friend of Alan’s named Layla is obviously interested in him and he isn’t sure what to do.

Alan asks his friend out for coffee and to do some work and she is totally up for it. Suddenly Zorn comes and steals Alan away with a lie, because of course Alan can’t be happy can he? At a Zephyrian restaurant Alan gets a text from Layla.

Zorn hates the Zephyrian restaurant because it is rather terrible and brings Alan home. Edie goes to talk to the neighbors about their talking gnome and Zorn comes to drop Alan off. Angered by the restaurant he destroys a trash can, and soon, the neighbors take the gnome in.

Alan once again invites Layla to hang out and watch a movie. Edie uses the neighbors fear of Zorn to get a few changes from the neighbors. Taking Layla to his father’s house he finds his father “bringing” Zephyria to him using Craig’s idea.

Zorn shows off his culture to Layla and Alan and it is rather odd. Layla is taken over by an evil spirit and hit in the face with a tongue from his instrument made of throats. She leaves when he yells at his dad, and goes outside to talk to her. When she is about to leave a harpoon launches out of his Zephyrian belt.

Edie’s lie comes out about Zorn being her fiance and the gnomes come back in full force. Alan proves to Zorn that he sort of cares for his culture and the belt is removed. Edie is watching Alan and Zorn be close when her neighbor calls, soon bashing Zephyrians. She finally takes out her Zephyrian weapon and destroys the gnome once and for all.

What an interesting and somewhat powerful episode. Zorn really is upset that there is so much racism towards Zephyrians. This show keeps pulling me back for more and that is good as it is so weird.
