Regular Show In Space S8 E16 ‘New Beds’

The gang is in warp drive after the last episode. They are all so curious about why Evil Pops wants Pops. Clearly something big is going to go down between them before the series ends.

Skips finds that his bed destroyed and they all decide they need beds, so they head to a Space store that’s clearly like Ikea. They are greeted by a Big Bird type Alien and soon head through a crazy mall as a bounty hunter follows. They see all the beds in stock, and there are some really interesting beds.

They go to get some Meatball subs and the bounty hunter is watching. They soon find the Bounty Hunter is chasing them and run through the store and its Oversized furniture room. They hide inside an armoir named Glom that talks to them and says Pops is the chosen one.

They are let out of the Armoir and run to leave. They need their beds though and as they get them the hunter catches up to them. She freezes the exit but Pops and the gang defeat her and trap her in a display. They head back to the dome and tell High Five Ghost and Muscleman what happened. The episode ends with them realizing they don’t know how to put together their new beds.

Quite a humorous episodes with a funny look at a popular store. I am liking that this season is centered around Pops as he has always been such a weird character.

Regular Show In Space S8 E17 ‘Mordeby and Rigbecai’

Mordecai and Rigby are doing inventory to see what supplies they have. They soon find a teleporter which definitely won’t end up horribly. Of course they end up playing around and soon Rigby pushes Mordecai into the teleporter and they change some parts.

Benson comes in upset at the duo again because they are slackers. He takes keys so they can’t fix their issue. Muscleman comes over and is shocked by the pair’s new change. He tells them if they don’t fix this they will eventually turn into each other.

They turn off the light and steal the keys. Stepping in they change even more.  While Rigby loves the height, Mordecai hates his shortness. Rigby suggests they play punchies and wins because he is stronger now.

When Muscleman finds them again he ends up fixing Mordecai but Rigby fuses with Mordecai and Muscleman, making a monster. They end up knocking Rigby into a hole where a teleporter lies and fix him too. Poor Rigby can’t catch a break, he’s always just gonna be short.

Really another awesome episode of this wonderful show. Seeing a fused version of the heroes was humorous as well. The creators really are pulling out as many stops as they can to make this season anything but regular Can’t wait for next week’s episode ‘Alpha Dome’.

Muppet Babies coming back to TV

muppetbabiesreboot

I remember loving this show. Muppet Babies first aired in 1984 and lasted until about 1991, with a total of 8 seasons and 107 episodes! Now being a kid who just loved everything Muppets, from the Muppet show to Fraggle Rock, this was something I adored watching. And now it looks like they will be rebooting the beloved cartoon on Disney Channel. I totally support this being a child of Disney myself.

The show was originally about baby versions of the Muppets living together in a nursery and having all sorts of fun with their imaginations and each other. I remember I would watch the show then run to my room and try to have as much fun as they did pretending to be pirates or whatever they thought of that day of the show. (Ah to be little again..)

*Quick side note, did you know that the production companies in charge of the Muppet babies in the 80’s were both Jim Henson and Marvel productions? Just thought that little bit of knowledge was cool.*

It has come to light that the show will be brought to Disney Jr. in 2018 and CG animated for that matter. “We hope to engage and delight the nostalgic fans while also entertaining new kids, parents and diverse audiences through heart and humor as only the Muppets can deliver.” Says Debbie McClean, vice president of the Muppets Studio.

Well, hopefully this lasts longer than the Muppet Show reboot did. That unfortunately lasted for one season and was cancelled. It seems bad luck to try and redo what was already perfect the way it was. So far, most reboots I have seen don’t make it, keeping my fingers crossed for this one to last a little longer than the others. ^_^

Regular Show In Space S8 E15 ‘Space Escape’

The park members have been working hard and now graduate the program. They are able to travel in space freely to terraform or create new livable planets. They are stoked to go to the graduation party. They head to the store to stock up on more snacks. In the store they see a helmeted man who needs to leave the store or his boss will kill him. His boss floats in and it is evil Pops of course, he freezes the clerk as Mordecai and Rigby run outside.

The enemy ship docks and the villains board just before the crew is supposed to leave. The leader tells them to keep Pops safe, they ask why but there is no time. The leader tries to stall Evil Pops and is successful, they crawl through the vents and drop the vent on some of the villains.

Pops refuses to leave and they charge back in because that is what a real hero would do. Pops really is coming into his own in this season. In the past he has had moments of bravery but this season really is putting him in the spotlight. They send the ship flying and put a balloon in the driver’s seat to distract Evil Pops for  a moment. The domes fly out of the space tree and Evil Pops wants them all destroyed, except of course for Pops. How hard can it be to destroy maybe 100 domes without destroying one?

They initiate warp drive and as it warms up their new friends hold off the enemies. Mordecai and Rigby fly out in their own ships to aid their space friends. The dome and the duo end up in front of Evil Pops’ ship. Their space friend Sure Shot destroys the tractor beam sacrificing himself as he jumps into the vacuum of space. I am curious if he really is gone, only time will tell. The gang warps to who knows where.

Regular Show never disappoints me and these space episodes are a good send off to this amazing show. Always excited for more even though their really isn’t too many left.

Bob’s Burgers S7 E3’Teen-A-Witch’

The kids are stoked for Halloween and the Belcher kids are talking about what they should wear. Tammie steals Tina’s costume idea of being a hot mess and getting ahead of her she signs up for the costume contest. Tina’s always wanted to win but always ends up losing though her costumes are clearly the best.

Looking for information on witches to become a “sand-witch” the librarian  tells her to become a real witch. She takes his spell book and tries to practice dark arts to win the contest. As the kids cast spell after spell Bob finds out someone took his prized pumpkin.

The next day everything that the kids magicked happens. That night Tina attempts more magic and the next day she comes in dressed like a goth.

Tina attempts to curse a semi nemesis the crossing guard but is soon cursed herself. She is toying with forces out of her control.

Bob is freaking out about who is taking his pumpkins and soon blames his rival Jimmy Pesto. Tina has a nightmare about the crossing guard. She talks to the librarian and he says the crossing guard really is a witch. It looks like Tina may not win again. Tina begins to freak out about the curse when she is in the costume contest.

She apologizes to the crossing guard on the cat walk in a poignant speech. When Tammie comes up behind her for her turn they end up falling off the cat walk. Tina loses once more but she feels better about herself anyway.

It turns out Mr.Fishoeder has taken all of the Jack-o-lanterns and created a large pumpkin display. Kevin Kline really does add just another layer of greatness to this show, and I think that is a good thing.

Another good episode of Bob’s Burgers, this show always proves that grossness doesn’t need to be in every show. It is oddly realistic yet still wildly cartoonish. Can’t wait for more of the Belcher’s adventures!

Leonardo DeCaprio looking to bring Captain Planet to the big screen

“Earth!” “Fire!” “Wind!” “Water!” “Heart!” “By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!” GO PLANET!!! Not something I though I would ever hear again in this century, but it may come back again. (Like bell-bottoms)

It seems that our Leonardo DeCaprio and Paramount pictures are working to bring the environmental awareness cartoon to the big screens in a live action movie. And further more, Scream Queens star Glen Powell may be a face among the heroes. Now I am all for revamping classics (which is what my son calls them,) But this one, I think, should have stayed in the past. I don’t see how they can make it into a movie people are going to want to see unless they are 80/90s babies like I am.

The story is supposed to leave off years after the cartoon series, where we find Captain Planet all washed up and in need of the Planeteers now more than ever… I wonder if they will turn this into a comedy… That could be cool. Have you seen the Captain Planet Parody on Youtube with Don Cheadle’s? If not I will link it below.

Tell me your thoughts on the Captain Planet movie. Would you go see it should this come to pass? Or do you think this one should stay in the past where it was left? Let me know ^_^

Amazing World of Gumball S5 E5 ‘The Choices’

We begin this episode with a voice over from Nicole Watterson, Gumball’s mom. The kids are really hungry and yelling for food. Soon Richard joins in because he is basically the fourth child. She remembers back to her past when she met Richard.

She is on her way to a martial arts tournament. As the car she’s in crashes and she dashes to the tournament. She soon runs into Richard who is stuck in a log.

IF she had gone right she would have taken over the world. If she had listened to Banana Bob’s song she would have married him and gone insane. If she had stopped with Harold she would have eventually burned down their home. Listening to Mr.Small would result in her death. If she hadn’t stepped on the butterfly or gone the guy’s motorcycle she also would have died.

She realizes the only thing she could have done is met Richard. The final chunk of the episode is dedicated to a montage of Richard and Nicole falling in love. It really is a rather touching montage and it did get me teary eyed, I will admit. Nicole and Richard could never be together if she hadn’t left home and that is what she did. Their love is true and pure and that is something special.

I loved seeing their family grow too, as we haven’t seen much of Anais’ youth. Of course she was a genius as a baby, because nowadays there seems to be an unspoken rule that that the younger sister has to be a genius.

This episode was really nice because it held a lot of back story. There were a few inconsistencies like Richard not screaming the whole time, but C’est la vie. I love when cartoons aren’t afraid to play with emotions and make the viewer feel something. This show while it definitely is humorous often does this just because of how well written it is.

Family Guy S15 E3 ‘The American Gigg-olo’

The family is watching the news when they find out the pilots are having a strike. Brian finds out he is no longer getting insurance through the Griffins. Brian recounts how he has a got a hernia when he nearly saved a woman.

Peter retells a story of time he was on the Access Hollywood bus with Trump.

Quagmire finds a bachelorette party and they think he is a stripper.Stripper Quagmire can’t possibly go wrong, right?  Brian got a job at a hardware store and is acting like a working man now. Brian is such a flip floppy character he never really does for himself always changing to suit the people around him.

Quagmire leaves his friends to strip and the guys follow him to find out what he is up to. They find him stripping and he is shocked to see them there. He says he is only a dancer but soon changes his tune when a hot bride to be wants to have intercourse with him. There is even a cameo by the “Who else but Quagmire guy” a nice call back to previous episodes I’d say.

Peter goes to pick up Quagmire and ends up becoming his pimp. Brian is trying to really do his job even when he is out of work. He is happy and Stewie almost lets him enjoy himself as the credits roll, of course Stewie is going to destroy his happiness.

Peter is taking his pimp duties to a new extreme because of course he is. Peter can never not take things to the next level because that is just the kind of guy he is.Stewie gets Brian fired when he hires some Hispanic men. They shake up a can of soda and give it to his boss, which actually does the trick.

Quagmire is part of a prostitution documentary, Peter as the pimp is also involved. All Peter wants is to see Guardians of the Galaxy but is worried there may be scary parts. Stewie causes Brian’s hernia to rupture and Brian tells him to help him. Stewie helps Brian and feels super happy with himself.

Peter and Quagmire get into a spot with a rough German woman causing Peter to apologize and they quit the prostitution game. Good thing guys, get out of the game before it really does something terrible to you. This was a decent episode, a little more risque then some episodes but all around a good episode. I will certainly keep watching this show until it is done, because the humor is still there!

The Simpsons S28 E4 ‘Treehouse of Horror XXVII’

Homer takes the family Christmas tree shopping on Halloween and soon  meet some of their greatest villains. Sideshow Bob, Frank Grimes’ Ghost, The evil Leprechaun, and Kodos, who besides Grimes, Maggie kills instantly.

In the first story, “Dry Hard” all of the water dries up in Springfield. Of course Mr.Burns is the only one who has water, and creates a Hunger-games style event. Lisa is chosen as her districts hero, and her coach is a Homer character.

Lisa finds two young men and Homer falls down from the sky ending their lives. Lisa of course decides to take control and take on Burns. They destroy the dam and the water dries up before rain falls. There is a flood which soon becomes a frozen tundra somehow. The story ends with Lisa burning Mr.Burns corpse for warmth.

The next story is BFF RIP and is also a Lisa story. Lisa loses everyone who says they are her best friend. Her imaginary friend from the past is brought up and clearly has a part in this. On the bus, she suddenly appears and kills Milhouse with plastic wrap. Bart rescues Lisa from jail after accidentally sending her imaginary friend to kill Marge.  Though luckily Snowball their cat saves her.

Rachel is out to kill Marge and everyone else she loves.  Homer summons his imaginary friend to stop her but she kills him. Lisa turns her into her mother and she vanishes from existence.

The final story is called “Moefinger” and starts with Bart running from bullies. Moe appears and offs the bullies taking Bart under his wing. Bart is tasked with avenging Homer. Loving how its clearly a version of Kingsman. The villain is none other then Homer. Bart and Moe take down countless Simpsons characters in a brawl.

Bart kills Homer, and kisses Sherri before a song about it being the 600th episode. Here’s hoping there is another 600 more.

Son of Zorn S1 E3 ‘War of the Workplace’

Zorn destroys his step father’s sandcastle at the beach. Zorn yells at him but he is saved by his wife. Zorn then destroys two little girl’s sandcastles, relishing in their screams. Alan is wearing sweatpants to hide his animated legs and is ridiculed by a bully.

Zorn is talking to an IT Guy about his adventures. Alan is being bullied and his stepfather and mother find out. They try to help him but he pushes them away.

Zorn can’t help but play at work because he wants to fight. A man comes in and steals the office’s hot sauce of course Zorn isn’t going to stand for it. Zorn tries to call his coworkers to war and ends up shorting the lights in the office. Zorn is crawling through the air ducts when his ex wife calls to tell him Alan is being bullied. How will Zorn over react to this?

Alan tries to talk to his bully insults him getting punched for it. Zorn gets one of his coworkers to keep watch and goes to steal back the hot sauce. Zorn goes to talk to his son, who still doesn’t want to tell the truth, until Zorn knocks his hat off to show his black eye.

Zorn tries to teach Alan to fight but is told to stop. His mother and step father begin offering help. His mother’s instincts kick in when he tries to attack her and it is pretty cool to see.

Zorn booby traps the fridge to stop people from taking anything. Zorn is punished for booby trapping the break room. Zorn’s friend comes to see him and tell him the thief is taking more things. Alan’s mom gives him a note to give to his gym teacher that he is allergic to chlorine. Zorn puts blood into a bottle of cranberry juice which the thief drinks.

The thief’s boss makes him apologize and Zorn is upset that they won’t fight. Alan gets out of gym class and when his bully comes in they have a fight, but Alan uses his step dad’s move. In  a swift kick he knocks his bully back and ends his bullying once and for all. He definitely realizes that being half magical has its perks.

Zorn’s boss gets him to enjoy work finally. At dinner he sings of Alan’s fight. When Craig sings along he breaks his instrument. Another good episode in a weird and interesting show. You can never be sure what antics are going to occur in this show, that is for sure. Looking forward to the next episode ‘Weekend Warrior’
