You CAN Bust Ghosts With Madame Tussauds New York In ‘Ghostbusters Experience’

 

If you love Ghostbusters as much as me, chances are you will be probably be around about the same age as me, which is …. *awkward silence and coughs* Actually to be honest I was born in the year the first Ghostbusters film came out as well as the original (and best) Transformers movie, which goes to prove and to quote WWE superstar The Rock ‘it doesn’t matter’, in this case, what your age is. If you love Ghostbusters, you love Ghostbusters.

I’m pretty certain that everyone that loves Ghostbusters will like me at one point pretended to be a Ghostbuster, what if I tell you that now you CAN be a Ghostbuster. You can save New York. You can be a hero.

July 1^st marks the official opening of the all new Ghostbusters Experience exclusively at Madame Tussauds New York. Sony Pictures, Ghost Corps and THE VOID have teamed up ahead of the movie release date on July the 15th , the official press release states.

‘The new experience is a fully immersive, authentic and multi-sensory space where guests are not only able to interact with Madame Tussauds’ newest figures, but also enter an authentic physical environment that brings the Ghostbusters story to life with an epic Hyper-Reality finale.

The opening of Ghostbusters Experience marks the next step in an evolution for Madame Tussauds as the attraction launches into a new era of completely immersive entertainment offerings for visitors. Guests will walk through multiple scenes from the new film and then can become actual ghostbusters themselves as they grab proton packs and blast their way through an incredible Hyper-Reality experience, Ghostbusters: Dimension. Designed and created by tech innovators, THE VOID, Ghostbusters: Dimension combines interactive physical environments, real-time effects, and virtual reality to allow guests to step into the movie in a way not even the actors have done.’

So what can you get up to whilst you’re there? Well again the press release states the following

• Visitors to Madame Tussauds New York start their Ghostbusters journey in a New York City subway station haunted by “Sparky,” who terrifies guests through the windows of an oncoming subway car.
• As guests proceed through the Alridge Mansion Museum, they feel a ghostly presence coming to life as they pass portraits that follow their every move and end up face-to-face with “Gertrude,” an ill-ridden ghost who spits mock slime all over them, rickety doors, spooky portraits and moving rocking chairs amplify the unknown presence.
• Zhou’s Chinese Restaurant serves as Ghostbusters Headquarters where visitors will meet Jillian Holtzmann (portrayed by Kate McKinnon), working on her proton pack, and Patty Tolan (portrayed by Leslie Jones), readying herself for the next spirited brawl. In the Headquarters, guests will learn about fighting the paranormal and see actual ghosts trapped in a containment unit just feet away from a display case with actual props from the movie.
• The experience concludes with an epic finale in the Mercado Lobby, where a Ghostbusters will urge guests to assist Erin Gilbert (portrayed by Kristin Wiig) and Abby Yates (portrayed by Melissa McCarthy) as they fend off “Slimer” and blast away any remaining villains. The hologram of “Slimer,” is seen chasing guests around, anxiously trying to get a selfie with them.
• Moving on from the Ghostbusters Experience, guests can ride off in victory on a replica of the Ecto-2 motorcycle complete with a green screen photo opportunity.

I don’t know about you but the option to grab a proton pack and get blasting is something that I’ve wanted to do my entire life. Maybe we’ll be able to finally see if ‘bustin’ makes you feel good’.

The Con Is Coming – A Game Of Thrones Convention

 

Valar morghulis my Game of Thrones fans! Thought you’d heard the last of me? Not yet —I’m reporting with important news about a special, one-of-a-kind convention, for Game of Thrones only.

This first worldwide fan convention will take place next year in Nashville, Tennessee on June 30th – July 2nd, 2017. Titled Con of Thrones, it will be a celebration of all things in the A Song of Fire and Ice universe created by George R.R. Martin and the HBO’s Game of Thrones show. The convention will be created and run by die-hard fans of the series, which means every dragon scale will be to perfection.

Harry Potters’ Draco Malfoy Joins The Flash Season 3

We have it on good news that Harry Potter star Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) has signed on to be a season regular for series 3 of The Flash.  Felton plays fellow CSI Julian Dorn who suspects there’s more to Barry than his wholesome identity. Will Julian find out Barry’s secret? Is Julian hiding a dark secret himself? We will have to watch Season 3 of The Flash to find find out!

Holistic Detective Agency Coming to a TV Near You!

OMGOMGOMG!!!

I can’t contain myself! I have just heard that one of my all time favorite author’s works is getting at least an 8 episode run thanks to BBC America! I am, of course, referring to Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, written by that master of the absurd, Douglas Adams.

Matt LeBlanc vs. Chris Evans: Top Gear Civil War (Not Really)

Although not a program covered here often (or at all for that matter), Top Gear is in the Guinness Book Of Records (2013) as the ‘most widely watched factual TV program’. So it stands to reason a few of you out there have heard of it.

Friends star Matt LeBlanc and producer/actor Chris Evans (not Captain America) took over hosing duties when series 23 aired on BBC2 on May 29, 2016 (5-30-2016 on BBC America). There have been rumors of a less than united new team.

There have been reports of LeBlanc being apparently frustrated with Evans’s behavior on set. In fall 2015, Executive Producer Lisa Evans resigned from the show allegedly due to Chris Evans’s alleged diva like behavior. There are also reports that Evans is far from encouraging when it comes to helping the other hosts. There’s no word on if these reports may or may not have any impact on Matt LeBlanc threatening to leave the show if Evans is not fired first.

The tiffs between the two hosts are well documented all over the internet. With rumors LeBlanc was not Evans’s first choice for a co-host, to LeBlanc and Evans reportedly falling out over the infamous ‘Cenotaph incident’ (in which, LeBlanc and a stunt driver filled Whitehall with smoke and burning rubber by doing donuts in the shadow of Britain’s main war memorials), there’s no telling what will happen in the near future for this new Top Gear team.

 

The BBC has already agreed to pay Matt LeBlanc for another two seasons, so in my opinion, the network needs to sort out their priorities if they want this tremendously popular show to continue. After dwindling viewership for the season, ratings spiked amid the rumors LeBlanc may quit the show. Could this all be an elaborate scheme to bring in new viewers? Drop me a comment and sound off. The Power Puff Girls And The Teen Titans Do Actually Go Well Together

Now, Cartoon Network has brought back two shows that many have been clamoring for. Teen Titans and the Power Puff Girls are two of the best shows in Cartoon Network history. But with these two reboots we lost something magical.

Teen Titans go is far more humorous unlike its first series.The first series was dark and gritty. It had touches of humor but it was real. The Power Puff Girls though childish was also rather gritty. With blood gushing from the villains faces as they were beat up by the girls.

Now in this time of weakness, we have lost Tv Violence. What used to be prevalent in shows such as Tom and Jerry which is also far tamer is affecting everything. I mean really if you teach your children how to behave a little cartoon violence should be fine. Clearly children are smarter than we give them credit for.

Now that these two shows are crossing over I am unsure of what will happen. It looks like a pretty good episode as it seems to organically combine both shows. Both teams are not to fond of the other side but need to team up to save the world.

As they both are youthful groups this makes sense. Plus it is funny seeing three of the Titans dressed up as the girls. I wonder if the Girls will dress up as the Titans.

I honestly do enjoy both shows so seeing them together could really be something. One can only hope that they bring back the Original Teen Titans in a similar crossover type episode.

Wander’s Wanderings Over Yonder Ended And Why You Should Watch It!

Wander of Yonder was a fantastic show on Disney Channel. Ever since many of the greatest animated Disney shows ended Wander has taken their places. It is a shame that this series is over after only two seasons.

Now Wander Over Yonder is the product of the amazing Craig McCracken. This man is the genius behind many of the greatest cartoons of my childhood, the cartoons of Cartoon Network.He worked hard and even created some of the favorite shows of my youth. Working hard on Dexter’s Laboratory and creating both the Power puff Girls and Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends is no easy feat.

Now sadly his newest show is over. But not without one final amazing episode which is good because so many animated shows aren’t  granted a true finale.  Now this episode really brought together many characters and ended right where it should. I couldn’t have asked for a better finale as I think it showed how amazing these characters are.

With the whole show Wander is all about saving the day. He sees the good in everyone and wants to make the world better. His power of hope saves the day and makes everything right. This resounding message of hope definitely makes this show worth watching especially in our somewhat depressing world.

Now Wander is a nomad who travels the horse with his blue Horse like Alien friend Sylvia. They face down the evil Lord Hater a skeleton with a need to take over the galaxy with his army of short cyclopes.  The second season introduces another villain named Lord Dominator who is hiding something.

There are so many good tropes in this show and the humor is reminiscent of Cartoon Network shows. I’m sure he could have made more episode and it is rather shocking that the show was cancelled.Plus this show has amazing stories and really nice connections between the characters.

If you enjoyed his shows from the past then I am sure you will find something in this show. Plus if you have kids you can introduce them to a creator who has made so many children’s lives with his work. I cannot wait for what McCracken comes up with next.

Wayward Pines SN2 EP6 – ‘City Upon A Hill’

The Abbies are coming, they have lit the crops of the Wayward citizens ablaze. The episode begins with the female Abbies foraging and being mothers. Showing off a somewhat human world where these creatures live as they gawk at a helicopter. In an instant they are slaughtered like animals with rounds of bullets.

As they bring away a fallen comrade Pilcher steps out in preparation of the fence’s build.

It jumps to Carrie and Jason, the leader and his wife to laying in bed. He’s ready to have a child, a child so they can lead the youth by example.

Theo sits at a bar with his hand in ice, he wants to get drunk. Rebecca comes into talk about Xander as a siren blares. The citizens run  as the Abbies come forth. They scream as they set the crops ablaze, looks like they aren’t afraid of fire anymore.

An Abbie attacks Theresa as Adam blows its brains out. Hopefully Theresa doesn’t die, though she might be all for it. The Abbies in town freak out in their cages except for the lady Margaret.

Carrie comes for Theo because they need him at the hospital. Xander asks Rebecca to get guns because she knows where they are. Jason leads a task force to slaughter the Abbies. I actually respected him in that moment.

Theo jumps into action taking control of the situation. The task force continues their assault. A war on two fronts but the crops still burn. Jason falls to his knees as we return to the hospital. Quite the gory scene as we see what is going on behind the healing scenes. Theresa is heading towards death, Theo wants to save her. Really something to behold watching the realness of it all.

Jason is upset by his lack of planning, he is upset that Pilcher didn’t calculate for everything. Carrie talks sense into him because she never wants to see him weak. Which makes sense as she is the leader’s lady.

Rebecca can’t answer Theo when he asks about her feelings for Xander. There is meeting of the leaders and they discuss the Abbies. The Abbies were taught to use fire, and they lit the corners so it would catch fire faster. Replanting will take months, and so everyone could starve in six weeks.

There is a rather poignant funeral with a burial of 35 of the last citizens of the world with only a little over 1000 left. Some soldiers come to take Xander’s weapons even though he used them to save the day.  He is shot down by the solider and his knowledge of his past.

The medication is about to run out and Pilcher didn’t make anything to create more. Jason has no idea what he is doing and Theo does. Theo should definitely take charge as he clearly is superior to the young child in charge.

Theresa is barely alive and it hurts Adam, he did betray her and her husband. A flashback with Adam and the horrid teacher Megan occurs, Adam helped send Ethan to the future so he could have Theresa. But he changes his mind as he does have character.

Rebecca comes into shame Xander but he  is doing well. He insinuates that he will be returning to their home soon as he has changed. He is a creep in my opinion as Rebecca and Theo belong together.

Adam sits by Theresa’s bed side because he loves her and is sorry for his lack of help. She wakes up and pulls her hand away, thinking back to Ben blowing out his birthday candles she dies. No main character from Season 1 lives now, how sad.

Margaret is put through a CT Scanner as Theo enters the room. Margaret has double the intellectual centers as humans. Theo and Adam talk as he bandages him. He tells him about Margaret and Adam is freaked out. Looks like the brand on her hand is significant.

The Abbies come out in full force as the citizens walk outside. Again Margaret just watches, never blinking, clearly she is strong. She is actually the leader of the Abbies!

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Spoilers!

According to stories making the rounds, the Waverider and crew, led by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), are on track to meet up with Albert Einstein in 1942. Details on the story line are vague, but TV Line reveals that the team, especially  Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), is in for some disillusionment.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story May Not Use Opening Crawl

So it has come to light that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may not use the iconic opening crawl sequence at the beginning of the film making us think that this story may very well go it’s own way.

“The crawl and some of those elements live so specifically within the ‘saga’ films that we are having a lot of discussion about what will define the [standalone] Star Wars stories separate and apart from the saga films. So we’re right in the middle of talking about that,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Entertainment Weekly.

This is an interesting way to go as this scene at the beginning of each film goes hand in hand and the fact that they may not use it may make the film live up to it’s Rogue One title. On the other hand as the film is set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope it may be worth giving the viewer a brief overview on what has happened between this time as it has with all the previous films.
