Elsa from Frozen gets a Harley Quinn makeover

elsa-from-disneys-frozen-gets-a-harley-quinn-makeover-in-fan-art1

“Let it go, let it go! Can’t hold it back anymore…” And it seems Miss Elsa is letting go… of her inhibitions when she removed her long blue gown and dawned a more red, and black attire. Elsa went and got herself a Harley Quinn make over.

The snow queen can definitely pull this look off my friends. She is rocking the tight black pants, red baseball style shirt and holds herself a baseball bat made of ice, (of course she would.) Her hair is double French braided with the ends being two different colors, but instead of red on one side, it looks purpler. The baseball T is ripped like Harley Quinn’s but instead of saying “daddy’s little monster” its sporting a ‘Bosslogic’ TM logo. The shirt is ripped at the bottom and it is revealed that the Queen has herself a tattoo, Disney logo tat to be exact (I didn’t know she had it in her.)

Bosslogic is the mastermind behind this and other art works like it. He has a knack for mash up art so of course he had to play with Elsa’s appearance and making her look no so innocent. I think this piece is lovely to be honest. The vibrancy of the colors in combination with the essence that is the snow queen, and a twist of Harley Quinn. This image is just lovely. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. ^_^

SN5-EP04 ‘Henny Penny the Sky Is Falling’

Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller), Watson (Lucy Liu) and Bell (Jon Michael Hill)  investigate the murder of Russell Cole , a Quantitative Analyst that worked for Mitch Barry (Richard Thomas) when he wasn’t freelancing on his own, Holmes believes it most likely had something to do with a missing laptop that was stolen from the scene of the crime. Holmes gets a text from Captain Gregson (Aidan Quinn) asking him to come by the office and Watson and Bell head to Cole’s office, his boss tells them that Cole was like family, Barry said Cole was a mad genius and he gave him a long leash. Sherlock heads to the office to see Gregson, he tells Sherlock to relax, Gregson mentions Medal Day and that they hand out Unit Citations to exemplary squads and he and Joan are to receive one. Joan tracks down Mrs Barrett and tells her she knows Cole was in Hawaii with her, Mrs Barrett says her husband didn’t know she was having an affair, she tells Joan that Cole has a cabin near Bear Mountain upstate.

The cabin has papers and files everywhere, however, they aren’t financial but scientific, Sherlock says the fate of life on earth is why he was killed. Sherlock explains that Cole was working on the end of the world, Cole had submitted a paper on asteroids and calculations on collisions and the threat to human existence. Sherlock and Joan head to the New York Science Centre to see Julius Kent (Owain Yeoman), the celebrity astronomer who Sherlock hates to work with, he and Sherlock went to boarding school together. Kent said he knew about Cole’s paper and says Cole’s theory is that asteroid’s makeup can affect the temperature, however, his paper had a lot of errors. Cole had a solution but Kent said NASA already shelved a satellite proposal thanks to Cole’s paper and it could have cost companies $500 million. Bell finds a waitress that recognised Cole and she tells Bell and Joan that he was behaving strangely, he didn’t use his laptop but had it with him, Joan finds a thumb drive stuck in a wall and believes it could be a dead drop.

elementary-season-5-episode-4-3-df21

They bring Barrett in and he accuses them of lying, he love Cole like a brother. Joan and Sherlock meet Congressman Salazar and her science advisor Grant, they learn that $500 million didn’t go anywhere and all proposed projects are on hold and cold be a decade before they get it on track again. Sherlock has a new theory, what if delaying the research for a decade was the point, what if asteroid mining would profit, they are packed with precious minerals. There are four companies looking at asteroid mining along with government, they may want to slow things down so they can mine the skies for gold. Grant shows up to the Science Centre and Joan tells him his office is being searched by the police and they believe he killed Cole and co-writing the paper, Grant was lobbying for the asteroid mining companies before working for Salazar, they have the DNA, the couch and they can match the oil to the plants at Cole’s cabin. Sherlock shows up to the Medal Day and surprises Joan.

Welcome Back

We last left our friends escaping from the Dalek prison cell. Ian was in the metal suit, while the other pushed him from behind.

“OOOOOOOEEEEEOOOOOOOOO”

The heroes are wondering around the hall. Ian stops them, he has figured out how to operate the machine. He then instructs the Doctor and others to get in front so it looks like they are prisoners. Susan recognizes a room; she informs them that there is a guard Dalek at the iron door inside. They then continue on to the door. The Dalek haults them, but Ian, in his Dalek impersonating voice, inform the other Dalek that the council wishes to see them. The other Dalek does not move, but Susan hatches up an idea. She screeches out, acting like she is going to run, but the Ian Dalek catches her. The other Dalek pushes his plunger into her back while Ian has her in the front. The two Daleks then heard the heroes into the room that was guarded before. The one Dalek offers assistance to the upper floor with the prisoners, but Ian Dalek declines. Once the door closes and the other Dalek is out, they lock the door. Then try to help Ian out of the Dalek metal suit.

Outside the door, the Dalek is calling through an intercom that he just helped the prisoners to the vault room and lift. The Dalek from the other side of the intercom notifies the one that there are no orders to move the prisoners. The first Dalek tries to open the door, but realizes that the door is locked, he then sounds an alarm.

In the lift, the heroes hear the alarm. They try harder to remove the tin head from Ian, but are unsuccessful. Susan runs to the door to listen, but realizes that the door is red hot. They also notice that they can’t move Ian, the floor has been magnetized. Ian insists that they leave without him. Barbara does not like this plan and neither does Susan. They try harder to get him out. But the Doctor and Ian insist that they leave quickly, and Ian stay behind. The door is being melted by the Daleks on the other side. The Doctor and ladies rush to the lift. Ian is still inside the Dalek suit, struggling with the helmet. He pushes and pushes. The Daleks on the other side of the door are almost through

The Doctor, Susan and Barbara are going up the lift. Barbara asks how long till the Daleks reach Ian. The Doctor is unsure. Susan becomes hysterical about the idea of leaving Ian.

The door the Daleks are burning through is just about open,

The lift reaches to top, the Doctor and the ladies exit.

The door is melted though. It crashes down and the Daleks enter. They then shoot a lazar at the imposter Dalek, the machine crumbles apart. They realize that the tin can is empty. “Lock the lift the emergency switch, bring it down.’ But the lift continues rising.

“Hurry Ian, come on!” Calls Barbara down the shaft. “Alright I’m coming.” Calls back Ian. The heroes anxiously wait. Suddenly the lift starts to head back down, Ian scurries out the doors just before it’s to late. “They had the door just about cut through when I got out,” he says with a smile, knowing he beat the clock. “We must try to find a way out of this room.” The Doctor says, they look to a window and see daylight. They are surprised. “Yes, but where exactly are we?” Asks Ian. “We are right on top of the buildings.” The Doctor notices. He points out where the jungle is. Barbara notices there is someone out at the gates of the city. Susan panics “The Sows, they have come for the supplies.” “Walking in to an ambush!” The Doctor announces.

There are three Daleks waiting at the lift, one Dalek instructs the others, “Make no attempt to capture them, they are to be exterminated, understand? Exterminate”’ the other respond their understanding. The one Dalek goes up a lift

The heroes are yelling and banging on the window, trying to get the Sows attention. It’s no use though, they cannot be heard. They figure there has to be another way out. There is another door on the wall, but they are unable to wave it open. They then try to use force. Barbara notices that the lift is coming back up. The others go and see while the Doctor continues to try and open the door. Ian walks over to a large stone looking object; he has an idea to place this in front of the lift opening. He calls for the girls to give him help. They begin to move the big rock, grunting at its weight. “It’s open, I’ve done it!” The Doctor calls to the others, having opened the door just enough for an escape. Ian tells the Doctor they will be there in a minute, they are trying to stop the Dalek from entering. They get the bolder to the opening, and then push it down the shaft. It falls down onto the lift with a big crash, causing the building to shake. The heroes squeeze through the small opening in the door.

Mean while back at the gate, the Sows are walking through cautiously. They are suspicious of the Daleks. Genisis still has high hopes that the Daleks are friendly. He tries to console his friend, but Aladon is not on the same wavelength as his leader. Genisis then continues on that the Daleks have food and they need it, which are the facts. Aladon insists that he be the one to talk with the Daleks, but Genisis declines this. He informs his friend that they need to remove the fear, for this brings on hatred and war. Genisis feels that he will speak to the Daleks peacefully, and will show that he is unarmed. Aladon is still not convinced the Daleks want peace.

The Daleks are at the gates, waiting for the Sows, they hide back in wholes

The heroes are running through the corridors, trying to find a way out. They realize they have found the gate about 50 ft away. They check to make sure that there are no Daleks in site. Ian insists that they go to the TARDIS but Susan declines. Demanding that they have to help the Sows. “We can’t let them walk into a trap!” She exclaims. “The Sows are no concern of ours,” states the Doctor, (wow he is a brat) “We cannot jeopardize our lives and get in to the affairs that is not our business.” “Of course its our business,” Barbara explains “the Sows gave us the anti radiation drugs, and without that we would be dead.” Ian agrees with Barbara but also sees the Doctor’s point. He tells the others to get back to the ship and he will stay behind to warn the Sows. Susan declines this, insisting that they are all in this together, but Ian wont have it. Barbara also sides with Ian’s plan, trying to explain to Susan that he will be better off on his own than with the others slowing him down. The heroes then run off, again leaving Ian behind.

The Daleks wait for the Sows, an alarm sounds and they hide back. The Sows approach slowly

Ian is searching for a way to the gates, careful so not to be noticed

The Sows move slowly closer to the supplies in view, and watch for the Daleks. Genisis is not so sure of the conditions anymore. He calls out to the Daleks. Ian sees the leader form the doorway. Genisis, making a speech on how they can live together, and grow in peace, is unaware of the danger leering in the dark. The Daleks slowly come out of hiding. Ian observes the scene. Then one of the Sows makes a move to the food; Ian jumps out yelling, “No! It’s a trap! Get out of here! RUN!’

The Dalek yells and shoot the leader, Genisis falls to the ground. Ian jumps back behind the wall as another Dalek shoots at him (dear god the effects of the rays on the wall. The whole screen just jumps around in black and white.) Ian runs off one direction. The Sows in another, Aladon is hiding against a wall. The leader lay sprawled out in the middle of the supplies the Sows had asked for.

Ian runs through a door, and into Aladon “Who are you?’ Ian asks startled as Aladon grabs him by the arm. Aladon introduces himself and realizes that Ian was the one who warned him. Aladon wonders why the Daleks attacked. Ian urgently informs Aladon that he must get the others away from the town.

The Sows are waiting for the other tribe members to return. The Doctor is talking with one of the females; they are conversing about the solar system they live in. The Doctor is fascinated. After looking at the planet lay out, he feels he may figure out how to get them back home. The last of the survivors show up. They had tried to go back for Genisis, but it was hopeless. Some others lost their lives to on the rescue mission. The Sows have to figure out what to do next. Aladon now has to be the next leader, which he still is bewildered as to why they killed Genisis. Ian informs him that the Daleks act without any feeling or reason. The Daleks act on dislike for those not like them (prejudice much). Ian then advises that they must teach the Daleks to respect the Sows. “What would you do if the Daleks left the city, came her to attack you?” Ian asks. “We would move away.” responds Aladon. “You would simply run away?” Barbara asks in disbelief. Aladon does not know how to respond. Ian urges that they cannot keep running. Sooner or later they will be destroyed. But Aladon states that they could not fight the Daleks. Barbara is bewildered at the passiveness the sows possess. She wonders if this is a belief. The Doctor approaches Ian and Barbara, showing them the picture he has in his hand. The picture is of the first ancestors of the Sows. He then tells them the story of their history. How there was a war, most the Sows died and others mutated. But in the case of the Sows, mutation came in full circle to what they see today. The picture in his had has the Sows looking more squared up, and in uniform (which I don’t see the big change honestly, the picture looks of a drawing more than camera taken) But according to the Doctor, the Daleks never did complete mutation, instead went into the machines. There is also an image of the original Daleks, who were called Darls then. (I think that what they said). Ian holds the image, with a look of disgust on his face, while the doctor continues on with his history lesson. Barbara notices that in the picture of the Sows, the man is holding a sword. The Doctor explains that they were warriors once. She finds this fascinating. Susan comes to announce that one of the fallen Sow is feeling better. The Doctor delights at this message, then decides that its time to head back to the ship. Susan wants to stay longer, insisting that the Sows are nice, but the Doctor declines, stating that the Daleks are not so kind. The Sows are walking by, with their deceased on their shoulders, like a burial march. The heroes watch, saddened. Ian wonders if there is any point as to reminding the Sows of who they used to be. The Doctor enquires as to Ians remark. Barbara explains that the Sows are not so inclined as to engage in combat with the Daleks. They have been trying to convince them to stand up against the Daleks. The Doctor states that it’s not their fate that rests with the Sows, this is their problem and should leave well enough alone. He insists that they head out. Ian agrees with the Doctor, and Barbara feels they should go too. The Doctor asks Ian for the fluid thing. Ian searches his pockets and looks at the Doctor, “Come on now, you know I cant start the ship without it.” Starts the Doctor, but Ian seems to have lost the piece… He remembers that the Daleks took it from him when they searched him. It’s still in the city.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Review

fantasticbig

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is a strange beast (sorry – bad pun). The story is set within the Wizarding World and features the author of one of Harry Potter’s text books Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). There are references to Dumbledore, Grindelwald (who shows up at the end, played by Johnny Depp) and the Deathly Hallows….yet like Ghostbusters (2016) and the new Doctor Who spinoff Class it feels like its own film in its own right rather than an expansion or re-imagination of an existing universe.

Sure, the film opens with the traditional Warner Bros logo in the clouds whilst Hedwig’s Theme plays – but it’s only a tiny bit of Hedwig’s Theme before we hear the main Fantastic Beasts tune.

The plot itself is a deviation from the usual Harry Potter story. Instead of an all-powerful wizard hell-bent on taking over the Wizarding World, the narrative focuses on Newt trying to track down a bunch of magical beasts in New York, who escape from his bigger-on-the-inside suitcase when he accidentally swaps cases with ‘no-maj‘ (the American word for muggle) baker Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler). Magical beasts are banned in 1920s New York, so not only does Newt have to return them to his case before the people of New York hurt the creatures but he must do so whilst trying to evade the U.S. magical government MACUSA (The Magical Congress of the United States of America) – a feat made harder when Newt’s future wife Porpentina Goldstein (Katherine Waterston), who works at MACUSA as a Federal Wand Permit Officer, finds out about the creatures inside his case.

What surprised me the most about Fantastic Beasts was the movie’s tone. With David Yates directing the film, I expected it to be more in-line with the later Harry Potter movies: a dark, eery world with secrets and lies to be discovered within the cracks of wizarding society. Instead Fantastic Beasts is more comparable to the first two Harry Potter films: it’s a much lighter, breezier tone with comedy reminiscent of the Home Alone movies. It makes a nice change for a 2010s Warner Bros film, given how many are cringeworthy attempts at trying to be ‘gritty’ and ‘realistic’. It’s one of the reasons why I refuse to watch Man of Steel or Batman v Superman: I much prefer the lighter, comedic tone of Fantastic Beasts than ‘LOOK HOW DARK THE WORLD IS’. Zack Snyder, take note: I like to have fun at the movies – and to me ‘fun’ means Eddie Redmayne performing a ridiculous mating dance.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faXUbSSHeyY

Just like the Chris Columbus films, there’s the same sense of wide-eyed wonder with the beasts in the movie too. The Niffler and the Bowtruckle are my personal favourites, although I also love the Swooping Evil (a brilliant creature that looks somewhat like a cross between a bird and a stingray).

The Demiguise (a magical monkey that’s capable of turning invisible) only appears in its visible form towards the end of the movie but is one of the most memorable parts of the film. The scene where you see an invisible creature carrying a handbag across a department store is one of the film’s funniest moments and almost certainly not something that would have been included in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Contrary to what many opinions have expressed, the CGI is just as convincing as it was in the Harry Potter movies; personally, I think the team at Double Negative have done a spellbinding job at showcasing JK Rowling’s massive imagination on the big screen.

As I stated at the beginning of the review however, Fantastic Beasts is more its own entity than a Harry Potter film. Rather than returning to the wizarding school we all know and love from the books, this movie has its own Hogwarts moment: the moment where we first step inside Newt Scamander’s suitcase. Like anything in the Wizarding World the inside of the case is not like an ordinary case interior; in Newt’s case, there’s entire environments full of the titular fantastic beasts. It’s absolutely breath-taking seeing this massive world hidden inside a normal suitcase and conveys JK Rowling’s wonderfully quirky approach to magic we all know and love. It’s magical items like this that made us all fall in love with JK Rowling’s Wizarding World and is perhaps the main reason why the stories set in this universe are such a big success.

A major issue with this film, though, is the way it attempts to emphasise the Harry Potter connection. The beginning of the movie features a quick montage of Daily Prophet newspapers referencing Hogwarts and Grindelwald’s rise to power. Whilst it does a good job of setting the scene of the movie it feels a bit disjointed in my opinion, especially when the main plot of this film is Newt tracking down his magical beasts. Yes, it is pretty obvious that the sequel will focus more on Dumbledore VS Grindelwald – but then show the newspaper montage in the next movie, not in the movie that uses Grindelwald primarily as set-up for the second film. Even the scene in the trailer, where Colin Farrell’s Percival Graves (who isn’t quite who he appears to be) wonders why Albus Dumbledore is so fond of Newt, feels like a forced reference to the main series. This film doesn’t need to over-emphasise the Harry Potter connection: it’s a great film in its own right and like the BBC’s Class television series would benefit more from forgetting the world it is a part of and focus on providing us a great new franchise of movies.

It’s not just the references to the main Harry Potter series that make Fantastic Beasts feel disjointed in places either. The Obscurus (the form that magic takes on when witches and wizards suppress their magical abilities) feels like a complication too far; with Fantastic Beasts, all that was really needed was Newt tracking down his escaped beasts. There didn’t need to be a ‘big bad’, a monstrous form for Newt to defeat. The Obscurus is definitely an interesting idea, unique in the way it ties into the witch hunting of medieval times – but it is perhaps an idea JK Rowling could have saved for a future Wizarding World franchise rather than Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

The film has a very strong cast. My favourite is probably Dan Folger as Jacob, who provides one of the best muggle characters in the Wizarding World. Dan Folger really made me care for Jacob, to the point that I really hoped his character wouldn’t be made to forget about the magical community he had witnessed (wizards and witches in the Wizarding World often have a tendency to use the obliviate spell on muggles that see magic occur). I won’t give away the ending but it’s not the end for Jacob I had hoped for (or perhaps it was – there’s a hint at the last moment that things may not have gone according to plan). Katherine Waterston is great as Tina too, although I found her sister Queenie (played by Alison Sudol) a more endearing character. It’s a shame Colin Farrell likely won’t return as Percival Graves given a certain revelation; I thought he did a brilliant job at playing such a shady character. Unlike others I enjoyed Johnny Depp’s cameo also; once again he looks completely different to his other movie appearances. Eddie Redmayne unfortunately is a bit of a disappointment. There’s no doubting his acting ability but more often than not he does what I like to call a ‘Robert Pattinson‘: mumbling lines in a fashion where if you weren’t watching in the cinema you’d struggle to hear what he was saying. It’s not particularly dramatic and comes across as boring rather than interesting.

That’s not to say Eddie Redmayne’s terrible, he’s just not as good as you’d expect an Oscar-winning actor to be. This isn’t Les Miserables Eddie Redmayne but neither is it Jupiter Ascending Eddie. His best scenes are his interactions with the magical beasts: his frantic attempts at trying to catch the Niffler are hilarious and well-played. In fact, he’s actually much better at the comedy in this movie than the more dramatic moments. Early rumours for the part of Newt Scamander were that Matt Smith would play the role though and now having seen the film I think he would have done a much better job. I can understand why they didn’t go for him however as the character is very similar to the incarnation of the Doctor Matt Smith played in Doctor Who and so would no doubt have drawn parallels between Newt and the 11th Doctor.

Overall, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is an entertaining spinoff of the Harry Potter series – but it doesn’t necessarily need the Harry Potter connection. It’s a great movie in its own right and often the references to the main series feel awkward. Eddie Redmayne is not as fantastic as Newt as you would expect either: if you watch this film on DVD or Blu-ray then you may need to increase the volume on your TV. Fantastic Beasts wonderfully captures the wonder and awe of the early Harry Potter films however and has a brilliant sense of humour. The scene where you see inside the suitcase for the first time is definitely the ‘Hogwarts’ moment of this franchise and feels just as magical as seeing Hogwarts for the first time on screen was. Fantastic Beasts is definitely a franchise you will want to return to again and again – so long as Eddie Redmayne stops emulating Robert Pattinson.

The ‘Survivor: Millennials Vs Gen-X’ Review – “Still Throwin’ Punches”

When Survivor was last in Fiji, perennial Fan Favourite Yau-Man admitted that he “got a little nasty“, a claim that Taylor could also fess up too tonight.

Let’s be fair, you could call it a strategic move – for Tails in any case – to blackmail Adam into keeping Schtum about his stash of food, via using his (stupid) revelation about his Reward Stealing (Dis) Advantage. But considering stealing food in the first place is an all-time-dumb thing to do, you are bound to have another Trail-Mix Scandal on yours hands.

With all that in mind, Tails played a blinder at Tribal Council. Using Adams Advantage to put in the minds of the others that he could steal their Loved Ones Visit was genius, even if Adam put the idea in his head last week. And it clearly had an effect on Adam too, who is being painted as the Villain of this season.

The slow descent of my Favourite Adam started last week and seemingly snowballed tonight. From Zeke admitting to Will and Jay that he would happily cut his alliance-chums throat to Adam-himself calling out his own jerky actions of gloating about being in the majority alliance. I can’t help but feel that Adam is one step away from burning the camp to the ground Brandon Hantz style. Not that I’m calling his sanity into question but with Adam’s emotions bubbling on the surface already, Tails and Jay piling on him at Tribal Council was rough to watch. So you’ve gotten wonder what state of mind Adam is in going into next week.

But just don’t pee in the rice and beans bro, not cool.

From someone who seems over-the-top-negative to Hannah, who keeps impressing me. Considering her early status in the games was that of comedic relief coupled with damming statements and moves that didn’t seem all that logical. She may have an Aubrey finish in her yet.

For sure she is finding her footing – in her confessional she admits as much – I’m just worried she is coming out of the gates too hot right now. As one of three females still left in the game, you’ve got to think that the men are on the docket to start getting picked off now that Taylor has broken the seal? If that’s the case, all Hannah has to do is position herself behind the next Meat Shield whilst playing ‘Mastermind‘ behind the scenes. Worked for Aubrey last season, right?

While Taylor got the boot, Jay roared into prominence showing that A* Confessionals isn’t the only thing in his back pocket.

I was certain he was going to use Idol, so much so that when he didn’t and those name started racking up, I was positive he was a goner. But lo and behold I shouldn’t have doubted my man because like Alex in Survivor Fiji, he voted for his drinking buddy Taylor to ensure that the Vote Split went in his favour. Oh Man, Earl must be so pissed right now.

Not only that but he threw some shade in Tails direction with a truth bomb so glorious as to refer to his pal as a “dumb Surfer“. What was that again Tasha? “Shots fired!

We’ll forget that its probably not the best course of action to insult Jury Members on their way out but I’ll excuse it because I’m still laughing.

What to Expect In S2 of The Expanse

Hey, all! Season 2 of our favorite TV series is still a few months away, but I thought I’d share some quick news on a few things you can expect from it.

More action.

Season 1 started out slow and suspenseful to build the plot and storyline. It gave you a chance to get inside each of the main character’s heads; to find out their backgrounds and motivations. It was also unique in that it gave the viewer the feel of piecing together the mystery alongside Miller, Holden, and Avarasala.

Our protagonists are more in control of things in Season 2 with Miller and Holden making decisions that drive the plot forward. But Mark Fergus (Exec. Producer) insists the focus on the characters will still be there.

Miller and Holden will go through intense change.

Events led Miller to start doubting his faith in humanity as he tried to unravel the Julie Mao mystery. He seemed to get more depressed as things developed. And Holden seemed to mature into a strong and idealistic leader.

In season 2, Miller gets to know Holden and the crew and he begins to realize there are still some good people in the universe. But Holden’s tarnish begins to blur as he learns to look at people and the universe from Miller’s point of view.

It seems the events and the end of season 1 will greatly affect their behavior in the upcoming season.

The tension between Earth, Mars, and the Belt rises.

Season 1 exposed us to the growing hostility between the Earthers (who think they are the superior planet), Mars (the military power), and the Belters (the oppressed race).

Expect the political intrigue to rise and to tangle even further the three.

A new threat will rise.

The protomolecule mystery became a big plot point at the end of season 1 with Julie Mao’s father, the CPM, and Undersecretary Errinwright seeming to all somehow be involved in or at least know about the Eros Station genocide.

We also saw it’s a sentient life form with an agenda of its own. Slowly, the Earthers, Martians, and Belters will come to realize their only chance of survival may be to put away their differences and unite to fight this new threat.

Spectacular special effects and sets.

The showrunners want the show to focus on the characters, but they’re also well aware that this is a show set in space.

Expect epic ships, exciting space battles, and bigger sets showing exotic locations.

Don’t forget SyFy has set the Season 2 double episode premiere for Wednesday, February 8 at 10/9c. Tell your friends and follow us at skatronixxx.com.

Supernatural SN12 E6 – Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox

spn-moms

I don’t believe I have held my breath as much during any other episode of The Show!

Let me start at the beginning… so, it all started with a series of texts from DJ.  If you’ve been reading my reviews then you know who he is and also that he’s always a few minutes ahead of me when we’re watching.  If you’re asking why, then go back and read last week’s review.  But, being the awesome friend that he is (did I mention he’s incredibly hot too?) he never texts spoilers.  However, they are sometimes cryptic, but I’ll get to that in a minute.

This episode begins in 1980 with Mary saving a young boy from a werewolf (DJ’s text here was “Werewolf?  There wolf!!!” with a laughing emoji).  This boy grows up to be a hunter because he was fascinated by Mama Winchester.  BT dubbs, DJ and I agree that Mama Winchester has great taste in cars.  Anyway, so Asa grows up to be a hunter, but is a casualty of the First 5 minutes of Supernatural Curse.

Then we get to see Jody in her PJ’s day drinking and about to do a Netflix binge when there’s a knock at the door… two good looking Winchesters are waiting on the other side.  After a funny discussion about Jody being a rom-com girl and Dean being more of a Asian animated erotic porn girl… the phone rings with distressing news.  Oh, I almost forgot!  Dean got to tell Jody, “I killed Hitler.”  I loved Jody’s response… “Thank you?”.  I’m totally going to cosplay Sheriff Jody, day drinking in her pajamas … and I too, shall have no shame!  (I won’t be the only one, even Superwiki says they’re gonna do it!)

OK, back to the phone call, a friend of Jody’s has died, and she’s going to the wake.  The Boys decide to go with her.  Now, I admit at this point I was a little worried.  I mean, so far The Show has led us to believe that The Hunter Club doesn’t think too highly of our Boys.  I mean, there’s been Roy and Walt that shot them in Dark Side of the Moon (SN5 E16) and Gordon who tried to kill Sammy more than once… and the list goes on.  So, I was really surprised that they were like beloved celebrities.  Elvis fanboying over Sam was so cute.

While everyone is sharing great stories about Asa, and Sam and Dean are enjoying the company of other hunters (even though their dad told them other hunters were trouble) in walks Mama Mary!  I got a text from DJ a few minutes before I saw it happen… “That awkward moment when you’re in the middle of a party and your mom walks in…” Yeah, that was a little awwwwkward.  The scene where The Boys introduce their surrogate mom to their real mom was so very cute!  It made my feels all warm and fuzzy…. I should’ve been a little apprehensive… I mean, you should never feel warm and fuzzy while watching The Show.

The next text from DJ was a little cryptic … “Ooh! Whack a Mole!”  I admit, that was definitely a whiskey tango foxtrot moment.  But, once I caught up to live television, I got the joke.  And, yeah, that’s exactly what it was like… an extreme game of whack a mole…. or maybe Demon Demon, who’s got the demon.  See, this demon called JL was trying on all the hunter meat suits at the party… kind of like Goldilocks… “this meat suit is too small” .. and “this meat suit is too big” …. until … “This meat suit is juuuust right!”  That’s when he decided on Jody.  While all the hunters inside the house are participating in this rousing game, Dean has been locked outside.  The demon, JL warded the house so no one could get out or in.  Dean gets a visit from Billie the Reaper who was there to reap one of the hunters that JL had already killed.  While they’re chatting, and by chatting I mean arguing while Dean beats on the door with anything he can find, it occurs to the elder Winchester that Billie was in the house to reap that soul.  He asks for her help to get in; she reluctantly agrees but demands a favor in return.

Now, I’m just wondering why when everyone was wondering who the demon was in and all worried about Sam and Dean, why didn’t they flash their anti possession tats?  That was the perfect opportunity to share a little hunter wisdom…. to be Yoda for the young padawans, but they just let it go by.

Sorry, got sidetracked again… we were discussing once JL decided on Jody for a meat suit.  That’s when it got a little funny on my couch.  See, I was watching with Lucy again as always, and while Jody/JL was trying to convince Sam that the demon was in Mary, I was saying “Nuh uh!  It’s in Jody!”  and throwing out all these reasons why I thought so.  Oh, I forgot to mention, I paused The Show for this debate.  So, while I’m throwing out phrases like “Jody doesn’t talk like that” … and “Jody’s more of a badass than that”… Lucy isn’t saying much of anything, and I reminded her that this is an audience participation kind of thing (I need her to comment and laugh at my comments so I know what to use in the reviews…..duh!)  And, she said something while I was pointing that out to her that I didn’t hear.  So, I asked her to repeat it… she’s laughing and says “I said, you’re right.”  I laughed too, and answered “I was totally not ‘I killed Hitler’ing you’, I just didn’t hear you.”  Yep, that’s a thing now.  You can use that phrase as a verb… thanks, Dean Winchester.

However, once I hit play again, there’s wasn’t any more laughing.  Because, I remembered what happened to Elvis once Dean started in with the Latin…and I also remembered Kim Rhodes’ tweets after filming this episode.  I was suddenly very afraid for one of our favorite sheriffs.  Mary even tries to use the angel blade on JL, but Sam stops her, telling her that it’s Jody.  There were some tense moments with a Latin round robin, but eventually JL was sent back to Hell and Jody was safe.

It was after everyone appeared safe, that Billie decides to call in the favor.  She wants Mary.  That’s right, she wants to take Mary back to Heaven.  When Billie started her speech, DJ said “Ah Hell, NAW!!”  My response was … I know right?!  I’m sure I had the same look on my face that Dean did.  DJ and I were in total agreement, in fact we said almost the exact same thing… but DJ put it best… “You’d better shut up or Dean’s gonna shank a b!tch!”  For a second, it appeared that Mary was considering Billie’s offer of “mercy”.  I’m so glad she said no to the reaper.

Oh.. and bt-dubbs … Dean killed Hitler.  =)

The Show will return on December 1 (they’re taking Thanksgiving off)… but here’s a peek at it….

Green Lantern Might Show Up In The Justice League Movie

Justice-League-first-image.jpg

Justice League next year will mark the first time the Earth’s Greatest Heroes have assembled on a silver screen together. The film will be a continuation of the story from Batman V Superman where the film ended with the death of Superman. Batman and Wonder Woman will be joined by The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman. Superman will also make a return from the dead.

Now it looks like another Justice League founder will appear in the film. A recent article by The Wrap says “a member of the Green Lantern Corps. will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.”

So far Warner Bros. have denied any involvement of Green Lantern in the next year’s epic. On Dawn Of The Justice League special, Geoff Johns claimed that the earliest we’d see a Green Lantern would be the third act of Justice League 2. Of course things change. It might be that the studio has realized that lot of fans have been calling for the inclusion of a Lantern in Justice League. Or it might be that it was a plan all along, or the rumor may simply be not true.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is the fifth entry in the DC Extended Universe. It will land in theaters on November 17 2017.

Daredevil Ep. 21 “Guilty as Sin” Review

daredevil-12

After Elektra is wounded in battle, Matt is greeted by Stick: Just as he was previously, Scott Glenn is on point as the sardonic, blunt-talking trainer. He has a great moment where he tells the story of the hand in a moment that is quite foreboding. The episode begins with a downright gruesome scene of Matt and Stick trying to heal Elektra’s wounds. The fast-paced editing creates the frantic pace needed while Elodie Yung bellows in agony, selling the agony her character would be in.

This episode is one of Elektra’s best as she is coping with her duality – she wants to be with Matt permanently, but Stick reminds her that she is permanently attached to her lifestyle. The episode features an intense between out-of-costume Matt Murdock against an assassin. The assassin wounds Murdock, but he gains the upperhand. While trying to interrogate the would-be assassin, Matt grows a soft spot upon realizing how young he is. However, Elektra slits his throat, solidifying who she really is.

The main plot of this episode continues the story of Nelson & Murdock trying to defend Castle in court. The evidence is piling up against Frank, his sanity is coming into question, and the trial is becoming more of a spectacle with people speaking out in court. Foggy and Karen believe that putting Castle on the stand and letting the jury see his mental condition will save him. However, problems are arising when Karen finds Elektra in his apartment, complicating the trial.

The highlight of the episode comes when Matt is trying to give a defense of the Punisher saying the city is under such disarray, it needs vigilantes and Castle couldn’t help himself because of his mental condition. This would have been a solid moment on its own, but what puts it over the top is Castle’s reaction. After sitting calmly, Castle reveals he dislikes the insinuation that he is insane before going ballistic and revealing that he knew what was doing, loved doing and would do it again if he had the chance. This intense and frightening moment is one of Bernthal’s best moments as the Punisher.

There have been plenty of action-light or Daredevil-light episodes (There are action scenes, but Murdock only appears as Daredevil at the beginning of the episode), and in that category this is one of the better episodes. Everything worked in showing the pain and frustration these characters are going through and how everything is tying together. Plus, the episode ends with the return of Kingpin. So that’s a plus.
