The Last Man on Earth S5 E4 ‘Five Hoda Kotbs’

Our favorite last people on Earth are on a road trip to find a new place to live.Gail is asleep in a self driving car and won’t respond to her friends. Gail and Todd get into a fight about her keeping her giant doll of her ex.

Carol creates a golden gate bridge out of Twizzlers. Melissa has clearly lost it and that is great as she used to be just one of the most put together people. We find out that Louis is gay, and Tandy is ecstatic that they have a gay Asian in their group.

They reach their destination which is San Francisco, though they find it totally uninhabitable. We find out that our main hero Tandy destroyed the city two years ago when he was gallivanting around solo. I love seeing Tandy doing crazy things as he can literally do anything in this dilapidated world.

Tandy wants to bond with Louis but it isn’t working as well as he thinks it is. Todd and Gail continue fighting about their relationship. Melissa wakes up and glares at them and they desist. The cars continue to break down until the whole group is forced to ride with Tandy.

Gail soon realizes she can’t keep going on with the group do to the tension. She decides she wants to head off to Napa on her own as they are in a derelict hardware store. As they are about to head out they are alerted by Melissa about a huge lit building. It looks like they found a new place to live.

I am glad that these people have found somewhere to live, curious to see how things play out. We shall see what happens in ‘The Power of Power’.

Young Sheldon driven Big Bang Spin Off Coming 2017

The Big Bang Theory is clearly one of CBS’s greatest shows. It is certainly popular even as it is in the 10th season. The actors still love doing it and the creators don’t want it to end, the network clearly agrees.

It has been announced that we will now have a spin off centered on the life of the genius and break out character Sheldon. It really is interesting to me how they decided to do this but with such a popular show there was bound to be some sort of spin off.

The show will focus on Sheldon at the age of 12 and will clearly not have Jim Parsons in the lead role. His mother played by Laurie Metcalf should probably be a regular on this show though. I imagine Parsons could be the narrator of the show though maybe, but one never knows.

We don’t know much about this show except that it is coming. This should be an interesting show but only time will tell how interesting. I’ll just enjoy Big Bang Theory and wait and see what Chuck Lorre comes up for this new show.

I really do wonder who will play Sheldon and what other actors will appear in the show. Though clearly the other characters won’t be involved at all do to them not living in Texas. Though it would be interesting to see that maybe Leonard and Sheldon met at one point when they were young.

All I know is I’ll be keeping my eye out for news on this show, so stay tuned to Skatronixxx!

Gotham S3 E8 Mad City:Blood Rush

https://i2.wp.com/www.flickeringmyth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Gotham-308-1.jpg

The city of Gotham is coming apart at the seams  for some and going swimmingly for others. This episode starts with a murder which Barnes sees the criminal run from. Barnes might be sane sometimes but with Alice Tetch or the Mad Hatter’s sisters blood flowing through him anything goes. The criminal tells him he is a cleaner of corpses  and Barnes begins to lose it, and the title pops up.

Lee and her husband to be are excited for their engagement party thrown by his father Carmine Falcone. She tells him that Jim is returning to the GCPD and that she loves him and not Jim.

Jim is home, back at the GCPD Harvey tells him to come because crime is afoot.

Nygma and his lady love who is the spitting image of his first girlfriend Kristen Kringle are enjoying life. She is off to a librarian conference and he will certainly miss her. When she puts on her back up glasses she looks like Kristen and that freaks him out. In the bathroom he imagines her in his mirror, and she tells him he will eventually kill Isabella.

Jim and Harvey are there to find out what happened to a victim and it is the man that we find Barnes decimated off screen. Barnes is talking to the Mad Hatter who calls on his sister and the blood seems to react. Troubling things are happening and I am curious how this will all play out.

Barnes wants to beat it, but the Mad Hatter won’t help him unless he tells him his darkest secrets. The Hatter tells him it is clearly rage and that there is a cure but it is only to succumb. He tells him he will lose himself when he hears the voices. Barnes vows to make things right but will he.

Jim goes to see Lee and they talk about themselves and her upcoming party. She tells him at the crime scene whoever did the crime knew what he was doing as he removed the mans face with tools precisely.

Barnes talks to Jim and Harvey and soon goes off to find the boss of the man he mutilated. Nygma talks to Penguin about Isabella and Penguin tries to lead him to break up with her. Nygma tells him to break up with her for him gently and he accepts. Barnes goes to find the Toad and beats him and his guards to submission.Barnes finds out about who is in charge and almost kills the Toad but soon forces him to take him to his leader.

Penguin gleefully shows up at Isabella’s door to break the news to her. He breaks up with her rather viciously yet somewhat beautifully in a way. Isabella stands her ground because she can tell he loves Nygma as well. She sends him off and looks at the glasses that reminded Nygma of Kristen.

Barnes goes to the leader who removes the faces, truly a sick man. Barnes begins to hear the voices in his head and his actions are unknown as it cuts to Gordon. Gordon talks with Lucius and Bullock about the man Barnes killed, his head was removed from its body. Barnes luckily brings in the doctor who removes the faces and tells Gordon he hasn’t found the murderer of Pauly Pennies. In his office he contemplates what he should do as he places his badge and gun on his desk.

Lee and Mario’s engagement party is quite a formal affair. Even Babs is there and is told to leave, questioning if she wants Jim still. Lee tells her no because she loves Mario. Barnes comes to congratulate her and ends up having a drink. Gordon and Lucius are talking about the murder and Bullock comes to tell him that the head criminal was let free. Falcone and Barnes talk and Barnes is angered because he isn’t in jail. Falcone can tell Barnes is really trying to make himself feel better about his recent actions. He is about to turn himself in when he sees the Doctor and wants to kill him.

Nygma goes to see Isabella at her behest and is dressed up as Kristen. She makes him face his fears and he kisses her. I am glad that they are happy at least for the moment.

Jim and Bullock arrive at Lee’s party to find the vicious Doctor. Mario and Jim talk about Lee and Jim tells him to lose the jealousy before Mario  punches him in the face. Barnes corners the doctor in the bathroom and talking about his psyche, and pushes him through the wall as he is Judge, Jury, and Executioner.

Penguin waits for Ed and Ed tells him he is back with Isabella. Penguin had one of his goons cut her brake line and she soon killed in her car by a train. Nygma is going to be devastated, I hope this blows up in Penguin’s face.

Barnes appears after killing the doctor and tells Jim they are going to change this city.He is going to do a lot of killing it seems. Gordon finds the doctor half alive and he tells him Barnes did it.

Tim attempts to help himself to a cinnamon bun and is rebuffed because of his cholesterol. He goes to work and brings Cinnabon because it is his world. His doctor’s office isn’t working right since his receptionist quit. Heather comes in to see him and begins to work for him.

Heather finds out Tim has been taking his office to Dave and Buster’s every week. Heather, wants to change this and have the family go to Dave and Buster’s instead going with his practice.

Tim is outside after locking himself out of the house when he sees his mother in law Joan. He points her in the direction of a Pot store. She has to much of the pot jam and is of course stoned. After this moment Joan changes herself and begins smoking pot regularly. Martin Mull appears in his recurring role and Joan gets high with him leading to a bad trip for her.

Joan gives up her pot goods to Tim who eats all of the jam and loses his mind because he is so high. Quite humorous to see characters act out of the norm.

Voting

Greg doesn’t want to vote because he has never voted in an election. Using their daughter as leverage she guilts him into doing it. A voting sticker is pointed out on his shoe and he acts like he did vote getting a free drink. Of course when he posts an election day selfie on Instagram and is found to be a fraud by his wife.

He decides to head down to the polling place but won’t remove his sticker. He is given the okay and votes finally for the first time in his life.

Big Bang Theory S10 E7 ‘The Veracity Elasticity’

This episode begins with something that we haven’t seen on the show in a while “Fun with Flags.” They have a new intro performed by Raj and Howard their new house band. Sheldon of course isn’t that impressed by their work. Sheldon and Amy really are good together and it is rather nice that they are so close. It comes out that Amy’s apartment is fixed and she has been lying to Sheldon.

Sheldon and Amy start talking about what they want for dinner, and Sheldon suggests they pop in to their apartment not knowing he’s been lied too. She continues to divert his attention until she gets him to go to dinner. The next day Sheldon is worrying about Amy and what she’s been up to. Leonard tells him what she has been up to and he both feels good and bad about it, which certainly makes sense.

Howard tells Leonard what Penny has been up to, as she has been moving out his collectibles to storage. Penny tries to get Amy to tell her truth about the apartment until she finally forces her to give up the truth. Now the group all knows but Amy doesn’t know Sheldon knows. When Sheldon tries to pry, Penny even starts lying to protect Amy.

Suddenly all the truth is out and Penny is offended that Leonard won’t just side with her about his collectibles. Howard and co come inside and Penny asks why Bernadette told Howard about Penny hiding Leonard’s things. Sheldon says he would be open to moving in with Amy.

Sheldon and Amy discuss moving away from the area. When Sheldon freaks out Amy attempts to calm him with the Star Trek Theme and then 2001 a Space Odyssey’s theme.  Leonard gives up his stuff so Penny can decorate their room to her liking.

Sheldon freaks out heads to his room to find his old room is a sex dungeon, good thing this is all a dream. Sheldon tries to ask his friends for help but realizes he needs to make his own decision. He tries to pick between living with Amy and moving back in with Leonard. Amy uses her brains and is able to guide Sheldon back to their place.

In the closing scene Penny redecorates their bedroom and its a little too girly. Leonard sneaks a little bit away and hides it Sheldon and Amy’s place. I think Penny would certainly notice this happening.

The Walking Dead SN7 EP03-‘The Cell’

Life on Easy Street isn’t too fun for Daryl as we learnt more about how The Saviours operate.

the-walking-dead-episode-703-daryl-reedus-935

We’re on Easy Street, and it feels so sweet…

Not the first song you’d expect to find playing on The Walking Dead is it? Well this episode was all about taking our expectations and amplifying them ten-fold to show Daryl at his lowest, and ensuring (if the premiere episode wasn’t enough for you) we know just how despicable Negan and The Saviours are.

The episode really focused on two people, similar in many ways, but with one big exception: one chooses to kneel, the other doesn’t. These two people are of course Dwight and Daryl, and this episode went a long way to making Dwight a much more rounded character. His behaviour towards Daryl since he joined The Saviours again has been a point of mystery for a while now, but this episode made clear that everything he’s done, he’s done for Sherry, and Daryl probably reminds him of what could have been. The Dwight we see throughout this episode is conflicted, and we see that develop as the episode goes on, but that doesn’t stop him from being a complete ass. The opening montage of him moving through The Sanctuary, using his elite status to take what he wants, showed a side to Dwight that is happy to abuse the power he has, but as we later see this power comes at a price.

You certainly get the feeling that Dwight doesn’t agree with what he’s doing. In hunting down the man who’d had enough of life at The Sanctuary, we find him making some truly disturbing threats that go completely against the man we first met last season. He’s tricking himself into believing the things he’s doing are what he has to do, lying to himself so that he doesn’t feel the weight of his action, but ultimately he’s a good man. That is if you can call shooting a man in the chest good. Technicalities aside, having such a conflicted character on the show, one we should hate but who’s got just enough hope in him that he might come back from the darkness, is very exciting. In one episode, Dwight became one of the most interesting characters on the show, and that’s impressive in an episode that saw him slowly breaking down a fan favourite character.

Speaking of said fan favourite, this episode was a big one for Daryl. I have to immediately commend the performance of Norman Reedus in this episode. In terms of speech he wasn’t really given much to do, which made it all the more powerful whenever Daryl did speak, but what he did with his facial expressions and body language this episode said more than a thousand words ever could. When he was dragged off at the end of the season premiere, we could see Daryl was being treated like an animal, forced to cower away from the weapons pointed at him, and this episode went all in on that idea. He was literally fed dog food, whilst being kept naked in a cold, empty, windowless cell. As if it couldn’t get any worse for him, he was forced to listen to the same song over and over again, and eventually given a picture of Glenn’s mushed up head, all in an effort to truly break him.

It was as difficult to watch as it was seeing Glenn and Abrahams heads bashed in during Episode 1. There the general brutality and gore made it hard, but here it was just difficult viewing a character we care so much about being slowly tortured. Whilst it was only 45 minutes for us, that was likely days for Daryl. Several days during which he was beaten, tormented, tortured and really just made to break. Events remained tense throughout the episode, simply because it was never clear what people were going to do. Though Daryl ultimately ended up staying true to himself, refusing to take Negan’s name, it would have been completely understandable had he not. Meanwhile there were characters such as Dwight and Sherry around who were clearly not comfortable with everything Negan’s doing, and who would probably turn against him given a push.

Life on Easy Street, or at the very least life at The Sanctuary, seems to be quite busy, so other notable highlights include:

  • I really liked Sherry during this episode. She clearly loves Dwight, enough to subject herself to Negan in order to save him, but it seems she’s not as far gone as Dwight is. She tries to give Daryl help, not to escape, but to make life easier for him there. If she finds some courage, she might be instrumental in getting Daryl out of Negan’s custody.

  • We were given a fairly detailed look at how things are at The Sanctuary during that opening montage. They’ve clearly got quite the set up there, with gardens and fresh bread, but it’s not the kind of place that looks great to live in. Actual living space for general people looked small, with thin sheets dividing everything up. Overall it’s clear that Negan rules over the people there with fear.

  • The man Dwight killed made clear that if they were dedicated enough a revolution could happen. Clearly Negan himself would be outnumbered, but it remains a case of whether the militia he’s assembled remain loyal to him, and I’ve got a feeling they would.

  • This episode is probably the greatest showcase of how sturdy Daryl is, but also how vulnerable as well. It’s easy to dismiss Daryl as simply the cool, godlike power of the group who never seems to be affected by anything, but this episode proved how much he cares. He’ll forever blame himself for Glenn’s death, and the way he broke down when shown that picture of Glenn shows just how human he is. It was a heartbreaking moment, but it also feeds into his desire to keep fighting Negan. Daryl isn’t likely to rest until Glenn, Abraham and even Denise are avenged, so I’d be worried if I were Negan or Dwight.

  • Negan himself felt a little less threatening this episode. It’s clear no one wants to kill off Daryl, but given his continued resistance it goes against Negan’s character to keep him alive. Sure it’s early days yet and Negan still thinks he can break him, but it will eventually come to a point where the writers can’t justify him not killing Daryl, and I’m not quite sure what would happen then.

The Walking Dead painted a grim picture of life under Negan’s rule this episode, giving us further insight to The Saviours way of life and the place they call home. Focusing on Dwight and Daryl, the episode showed us the two extremes of Negan life. One extreme saw Dwight continue to abandon his humanity for a more comfortable life, whilst the other extreme saw Daryl stand by his morals and be tortured for doing so. The Walking Dead is going to some seriously dark places at the moment, and as the Season continues, the worst is no doubt yet to come.

P.S. I’ve listened to this song about 20 times now. I can’t stop! It’s too damn catchy!

XXX: Return of Xander Cage gets 100 million views in 2 days

xxx-the-return-of-xander-cage-3

Having just watched the new Doctor Strange movie this weekend, I was able to see the xXx trailer, and man, it looks soooooo good. And I guess I am not the only one who thinks the preview was awesome. The Trailer got a whopping 100 million views in just two days…. 2 DAYS! Whoa! Though the trailer I saw was in the theaters, the one everyone else saw was online via Facebook. Shown off by the main man himself Vin Diesel along with his co-stars coming in from around the world in live stream form.

Now I myself have never viewed the xXx movies, but watching this trailer actually made me want to see this movie when it comes out. And I never really cared to see the other movies so that’s kind of awesome. (Maybe I should see the other xXx’s so I know what’s going on…)

And what other movie trailers have brought in such huge numbers after a couple of days, that would be Fifty Shades Darker with 114 million views and Star Wars, the Force Awakens at 112 million views.

In case you missed the trailer, here is a preview below so you too can see the awesomeness. xXx: Return of Xanger Cage will be hitting the big screen on Jan. 20, 2017. ^_^

Stranger Things Season 2 Enters Production With Key Character Returning

stranger-things-season-1-poster

A couple months back it was confirmed by Netflix that ‘Stranger Things’ would be returning for a second season sometime in 2017. Though a firm release date it still a ways off, the official Twitter account tweeted out the first cast photo, with the exciting words “Back in production”!

The photo was flipped upside down in reference to the horrifying alternate dimension featured so heavily in the show’s first season, and it revealed some exciting information. After a rather ambiguous end to her story in Season One, it was unclear whether Millie Bobby Brown would be returning as Eleven in the next season, especially given how secretive both the actress and creators were being. Any fears she would sit out the next run of episodes have been alleviated now though, as she’s clearly sat amongst a host of other new and returning cast members.

Also featured in the photo are newcomers Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery, as well as returning cast Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve), and Noah Schnapp (Will). It was also confirmed that Winona Ryder (Joyce) and David Harbour (Jim) are also set to return.

The show is getting an extra episode this next season taking the total to 9, and will be set in Autumn 1984 roughly a year after the events of the first season. As well as the return of fan favourite Eleven, the show’s creators have promised ‘Justice for Barb’, stating that though the character might be dead, she’ll have a lasting impact going forward.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 comes to Netflix in 2017.
