Big Bang Theory S10 E5 ‘The Hot Tub Contamination’

After beginning their experiment to live together, Sheldon and Amy run in upset with the bathroom situation. Of course Sheldon is being a bathroom tyrant and Amy just can’t make that concession.

Howard and Bernadette are taking a vacation to Palm Springs before the baby comes. Penny and Leonard decide to separate Amy and Sheldon for awhile so they can stop fighting. Bernadette has morning sickness and doesn’t want to go on vacation. Howard proposes they have a stay-cation and don’t tell their friends.

Penny takes Sheldon out to calm him down. Stewart comes to Howardettes house and gets into their hot tub. The pair watch from above unsure if they should scare him away. Leonard and Amy talk about Sheldon in hopes of calming her down too. Raj soon comes to use the hot tub too, and is surprised when Stewart pops out of the water.

Raj and Stewart are talking, and Stewart says he’s been going into their hot tub when they aren’t around for a few months.  Sheldon asks Penny to take him for ice cream and she says yes. He apparently is now a full blooded man who finds women to be attractive.

Stewart and Raj are now toasting to Howardette and drinking their wine. Raj tells Stewart he is single after his two girlfriends dumped him. I really would like to know how this happened, as it looked like Raj was finally doing something right. Amy considers just conceding to Sheldon but Leonard tells her not too. He implores her to learn from his mistakes.

Sheldon tells Penny a story about his father cheating on his mother and how he saw him. He says he knocks three times so anyone on the other side of the door can be decent. This is rather interesting to think about since we haven’t known why for nearly a decade.Sheldon apologizes to Penny for not flirting with her, but he thinks of her as a nanny.

When Howardette finds Stewart is naked, Howard yells at them to get their own hot tub. Amy is sitting in Sheldon’s spot to stand up for herself yet when Sheldon walks in she immediately changes seats. Sheldon tells Amy he is going to give up the bathroom rules and even share a toothbrush holder with her. What a revolutionary change for out insane genius.

Such a nice episode where Sheldon grew up a little more and we even learned a little about his past. Of course things are going well for our married couples, and it does look like their will be a baby sooner then later. Excited for more Big Bang Theory when the ‘Fetal Kick Catalyst; airs on October 27th.

Lucifer SN2-EP4 ‘Lady Parts’

 

Last week Lucifer and Decker investigate a gruesome murder after a video of the crime surfaced on social media, and Mamma Morningstar is to live as Charlotte Richards  as her punishment handed down by Lucifer. We also seen Amenadiel really struggling with the loss of his powers.

SN2-EP4 ‘Lady Parts’

It looks like Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Decker (Lauren German) have another serial killer on their hands this week as they investigate the death of two young women. Lucifer is distracted while in session with Dr Martin (Rachael Harris), he is playing Sex Words with Friends on his first mobile phone with Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Dr Martin tells Lucifer, his distraction could be a barrier for his problems, but Lucifer hears that distraction will help from having to deal with his problem with mamma dearest.

Lucifer isn’t the only one who is distracted and you can see that when they arrive at the crime scene, Lucifer senses that Decker needs to get out and live a little. Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) looking like a Stepford wife is a little frazzled as she throws her failed spicy chicken casserole in the bin, Charlotte tells Maze she has learnt that having sex with her husband renders him mute. But even though it’s worse than hell she gets to be close to her sons.

Ella (Aimee Grarcia) figured out that one of the young girls Daria died from mandrake poisoning. With Decker and Dan (Kevin Alejandro) getting a divorce, she will need to find a new place to live, which Lucifer finds as the perfect distraction and makes some calls on Decker’s behalf. The duo arrives at the house of the last person Daria had spoken with, they are met at the door by a man brandishing a butcher knife and covered in blood… It’s ok he was making sausages. Decker also notices how distracted Lucifer  in frustration he calls Maze to ask her to Chloe out for drinks in hopes it distracts her.

Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) stops by Dr Martins to return a book, she can tell something is wrong and as a friend, she offers to listen. However, he tells Dr Martin that his problem is physical, that things aren’t working like they used to. Dr Martin thinks that Amenadiel is talking about Amenadiel Jr not standing to attention and tells him to loosen up, if only that was the problem it would be differently easier to fix .

Decker and Lucifer find Daria’s roommate dead in Daria’s apartment with the same triangle stamp on her wrist. Decker rocks up at Lux and wants to go over the lab report, Maze suggests that she and Decker go to the bar that the roommates had been to. It quickly turns into a girls night, and Dr Martin suggests they all share a secret to break the ice. We learn Dr.Martin was a phone sex operator, Ella stole cars, we already know Maze was forged in hell and Decker drops the divorce bomb.

Decker and Lucifer figure out that Daria’s neighbour Lily is responsible for the girl’s deaths.  Maze tells Lucifer that she and Decker are going to be roommates, Lucifer is convinced all the women is his life are ganging up on him. Amenadiel asks Lucifer what he asked their father for in exchange for bringing their mother back to hell. Amenadiel points out that Lucifer hasn’t fulfilled his part of the deal, and Decker’s life could be in grave danger. However, Lucifer doesn’t believe their father would be interested in one little soul….. Decker is driving while talking to a landlord about an apartment, when she is suddenly hit by another car.

Who will Thanos Kill in Avengers: Infinity War?

Online geek news site ComicBookMovie.com has written an interesting opinion piece about the six characters most likely to be killed off in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movies. Even though the first film isn’t due for release until 2018, there is a lot of speculation about who will make it out of the war alive.

If you’re interested in who the good people at CBM think will meet a premature end at the hands of giant purple villain Thanos (Josh Brolin), you can read all about it here. Over at Skatronixxx towers, I decided to have a bit of a ponder on the question too… and on some I totally agree, but some our opinions differ.

Place your bets, please!

1.Captain America aka Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)

This almost seems like a forgone conclusion at this point. In the real world, we know that Chris Evans‘s contract with MCU has just about come to an end, and the man behind the shield may want to move on to pastures new. In the comics, Captain America has died before, and indeed, many fans were expecting to see Steve Rogers expire in the Civil War movie. So Cap dying towards the end of the movie would not be totally unexpected, and would pave the way for Falcon to pick up the mantle.

2. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr)/War Machine (Don Cheadle)

Now, there was some debate in our house about this one… War Machine was critically injured in Civil War, essentially making him a sitting duck when Thanos comes to town. I think he might be killed off early on, causing rage in the Avengers camp. Plus, Thanos just killed him in the comics, so it’s a real possibility. However, my partner raised a good point… Robert Downey Jr will have the same contract expiry as Chris Evans, so his tenure in the MCU could be coming to an end, making him a prime candidate for execution. My thought is, would MCU kill off two characters with the iron suits? I don’t feel like they would, and if one was to go, my money would be on War Machine, but maybe they’re in the mood for a shake up…?

3. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner)

Apologies in advance to Jeremy Renner, but this one is a bit of wishful thinking for a lot of MCU fans. Hawkeye has been a bit of a dull character, and (as may people have commented) they’ve now introduced his lovely family and given him a bit of story. WHEN WILL YOU LEARN THAT YOU CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS?! His death would spark rage in Black Widow (who won’t die because the internet wants to see her solo movie) and would have a tragic human angle as a husband/father would be lost. Also, there is literally zero talk of a Hawkeye solo outing, so he’d be an easy and dramatic kill – possibly to pave the way for the final battle.

4. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders)

Now this is a bit of an odd choice for me. I’ve based it on the fact that a) I don’t think all the lady characters will make it through the movies unscathed; b) Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Gamora and Captain Marvel will probably survive due to potential future movies; and c) they could always bring her back via Tahiti (it’s a magical place) if they wanted to. Maria’s been a bit quiet since The Winter Soldier movie, but Cobie Smulders is confirmed to be returning for Infinity War, so I think Ms Hill could make the list of Thanos’s casualties, possibly in a dramatic scene taking out a S.H.I.E.L.D office

5. Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)

This is a bit of a wild card, and would possibly make a good cliffhanger for the end of Part 1. As we know, the Hulk is super powerful, so a being that could kill the Hulk would be a scary prospect for the ever-expanding band of superheroes. Again, this would be a huge blow for Black Widow (honestly, I’m not anti-Black Widow, I just think there’s more interesting women they could be featuring for solo projects…) so perhaps bumping off Barton AND Banner would be overkill (pun totally intended!) but possibly necessary to have a big finish to lead into part 2.

At this point, I realise I’ve killed off nearly all the original Avengers. This was not intentional, though would be an interesting play, MCU…

6. Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) 

I think the big blue guy is going to be the last fatality at Thanos’s hand, and I think he’s going to take the purple fella with him. In the comics, Drax and Thanos have got history – in fact, Drax died at one point attacking Thanos (oops!). In the movie Guardians of the Galaxy it was established that Drax would not rest until he had got vengeance for the murder of his family, and that they could not rest in piece until Thanos was defeated. A hero’s sacrifice is often required in these stories, and Drax seems like the most likely candidate for this. Sorry man, I’ll be sad to see you go!

Leonardo DeCaprio looking to bring Captain Planet to the big screen

“Earth!” “Fire!” “Wind!” “Water!” “Heart!” “By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!” GO PLANET!!! Not something I though I would ever hear again in this century, but it may come back again. (Like bell-bottoms)

 

It seems that our Leonardo DeCaprio and Paramount pictures are working to bring the environmental awareness cartoon to the big screens in a live action movie. And further more, Scream Queens star Glen Powell may be a face among the heroes. Now I am all for revamping classics (which is what my son calls them,) But this one, I think, should have stayed in the past. I don’t see how they can make it into a movie people are going to want to see unless they are 80/90s babies like I am.

 

The story is supposed to leave off years after the cartoon series, where we find Captain Planet all washed up and in need of the Planeteers now more than ever… I wonder if they will turn this into a comedy… That could be cool. Have you seen the Captain Planet Parody on Youtube with Don Cheadle’s? If not I will link it below.

Will There Be A What-I-Call ‘Miranda Movie’?

Rumours are circulating that the BBC sitcom Miranda is to be turned into a movie. When we last saw Miranda, the titular character married long-time crush and current boyfriend Gary Preston. Could a movie therefore show the happy couple on their honeymoon?

Well, in an interview with The Telegraph, Sarah Hadland (who played Miranda’s best friend Stevie) had the following to say: ““I can say there will be something,”

The TV Series of Miranda lasted for three series and two specials, broadcasting from 2009 until 2013. Alongside Miranda Hart as Miranda and Sarah Hadland as Stevie, it starred Tom Ellis as Gary Preston, Patricia Hodge as Miranda’s mum Penny, Sally Phillips as Miranda’s posh friend Tilly and James Holmes as restaurant owner Clive Evans. Sarah Hardland previously revealed to the Daily Mail that Kylie Minogue had met to replace her as Stevie in a big-screen version of the popular sitcom – “Kylie has met Miranda and she thinks she’d be right for Stevie, because she’s the same height as me and she’s blonde. She’s muscling in!” – although hopefully that idea has since disappeared because quite frankly, as much as I like Kylie Minogue, it would be terrible.

Miranda Hart’s new book Peggy and Me is out now, with an RRP of £20. It details her life with her dog Peggy.

Elementary SN5-Ep3 ‘Worth Several Cities’

Last week the season 5 premiere of Elementary started with a big bang, from an IED which was used in a string of similar explosion half a decade earlier. Joan reconnects with a drug dealer she once saved on the operating table, who is not trying to get his life back together after being released from prison. It will be interesting see how Joan and Shinwells relationship evolves and if he will be a regular throughout the season 5. Now you know it’s going to be a great episode when Holmes gets himself kidnapped at the start of the episode!

SN5-EP2 ‘Worth Several Cities’

Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) manages to get himself kidnapped by a drug dealer who demands holmes to find the men responsible for the killing of his smuggler however the search quickly turns into a search for a very expensive historical antiquity. Holmes refuses payment from El Halcon (Jon Huertas), instead, asking for Quid Pro Quo deal – Sherlock wants the seller of the tainted heroin from last week’s Episode in return for who was responsible for killing Halcon’s smuggler.

Watson (Lucy Liu) get’s ex-drug dealer Shinwell (Nelson Ellis) a job that comes with accommodation, but also asks Watson for one more favour, Shinwell wants’s her to help locate his daughter so he knows she is ok. A North Korean smuggler confesses to everything in a bid to protect his family, but he couldn’t have possibly done it. The Box and meth were stolen from his employer, but the box again disappeared and the thief was killed.

Watson gets a visit from Taiwanese officials asking for Yun Jing Yi, which we learnt is Watson’s Chinese name, the officials offered up $50 million for the box to go to Taiwan. Shinwell finds his daughter by his own means but decides it’s not the right time to enter her life just yet. Holmes and Bell (Jon Michael Hill) the dead thief’s boyfriend and quickly realises that the box was actually “The Imperial Jade Seal of China” (“the seal”). The most sought after antiquity in the world, The Seal is priceless.The investigation leads Sherlock to Wayne Vachs (Ron Rifkin) who, before Sherlock and Joan ambush him, show them a restraining order.

Undeterred Watson and Sherlock return home to regroup, they are visited by Wendy (Annie Q.), the daughter of a very high ranking Chinese official, she reminds them that China has loads more money then Taiwan, and will pay more for said box. Sherlock gets himself invited into Wayne Vach’s office, Vach tell Sherlock he won the seal in an auction, which an expert only know as “C” (Jane Alexander) confirms this is correct. With the seal recovered Holmes puts red ink on it and uses it as a stamp for evidence, which eventually is not a sin against the ancient gods of China. Holmes rules out the Chinese as the direct killers, The murders were committed by Vachs, who has been bankrupted in the mining accident, but would have been awarded a huge construction contract in China had he been able to return their most prized possession, clearly men like him don’t get their hands dirty so one of his security would have done the dirty work.

Gotham S3 E5 Mad City:Anything for You

Penguin has won the position of mayor, The Mad Hatter has lost his sister, and old Barnes is infected by Alice’s blood all the while Penguin and Riddler now run the city. The episode begins with Penguin, Nygma, and Butch walking through the city. Penguin is doing all the good things a Mayor should do, clearly he isn’t hiding anything from the public. He has made a statue of his mother so he can take support from her. So beautiful that his love for his mother guides him.

Giving a speech next to his mother’s statue the Red Hood Gang attack. Fans of Batman should know these villains are synonymous with a certain green haired clown. They knock off the head of the statue of Penguin’s mother and flee the scene.

Valerie and Jim are talking, and she says she can’t come over tonight because she doesn’t want it to be a thing. Bullock and the cops have found the truck the Red Hood Gang left. The Riddler comes back to the GCPD to work once more to stop the Red Hood Gang, and no one is happy especially Barnes.

Penguin and his villainous constituents are having a meeting, with Babs too. It just so happens that Butch is the leader of the new Red Hood Gang, what is his end game.

Bruce wanting to help Selina heads out to find Ivy and goes to Jim for help. Jim asks Bruce how long they have been a thing and Bruce awkwardly rebuffs the notion. Nygma meets Lucius Fox

Bruce goes to the GCPD with Gordon and they find out about Ivy Pepper. Lee tells Jim that her fiance is the son of the former mob boss Falcone, of course Jim knows this information already. She soon finds Nygma and smacks him hard for Kristin, Nygma’s former lady love that he accidentally murdered last season.

The Red Hood Gang kills a priest telling everyone to blame it on Penguin. They go back to tell Butch the news, and he gives them suits to go to Penguin’s party. Right after Babs comes in with one of Butch’s grenades, they need to talk.

Jim tells Bruce to just tell Selina how he feels, because if he had done that he might be with Lee. Penguin is freaking out, thinking someone is testing him. Butch wants to be back in Penguin’s good graces, Babs says either he or Tabitha dies. Penguin calls Butch to tell him they found the Red Hoods, Butch goes to break up the gang and kills them in that moment. Penguin is overjoyed these weirdos are gone.

Butch is lauded as a hero and Nygma isn’t happy, so he heads to the crime scene. He finds the suits the Red Hoods would have worn. Barnes comes into talk to  Lee and praises her for slapping Nygma. He needs to know about Alice’s blood since it dropped into his eye. He really should tell someone that he may be infected.

Penguin’s victory party is in full swing. Bruce isn’t all too happy that his life is just soirees and shindigs now. Talking to Penguin briefly, Bruce sees Selina, and goes to make his move. Selina is about steal a woman’s wallet, when it turns out its Ivy who doesn’t disclose who she is.

Riddler wants to kill Penguin with Butch and run Gotham together. Butch says no, but Riddler shows him they have Tabitha, the woman Butch loves and Babs’ right hand woman. I wonder what Butch is going to do now.

Selina is watching grown up Ivy, when Bruce approaches her. He asks her to go someone private, obviously he is telling her his feelings. Butch is given a pep talk of sorts as Babs calls Penguin up to the stage. Riddler wishes him good luck, what a mischievous weirdo. Butch’s gun has only blanks and he is shot by Zsaz. Tabitha kills her captors and runs out of the kitchen.

Penguin is troubled by Butch’s betrayal. Butch gets up when Tabitha barges in and goes to kill Riddler. Knocking him unconscious Penguin falls to his knees to see if his friend is alright.

Bruce and Selina ae talking outside and he tells her he is looking for Ivy. He tells her he likes her and she rebuffs him because she knows they are so different. She kisses him but doesn’t say if she has feelings leaving him alone and confused. Jim breaks up Vicki’s little outing and tells her she is going to have to buy him dinner. Good work Jim, that’s how you win the ladies.

Penguin and Riddler are together, and Riddler tells him all about his plan to keep him a hero in the city’s eye. They hug, because that’s what best friends do. Tabitha goes to save Butch because she does care for him.

Barnes is feeling the power of Alice’s blood and will certainly cause trouble for everyone soon enough. The Mad Hatter kills a woman he dresses up as Alice as he has fallen even more off the deep end, his next target, one James Gordon.

I really do love how this show is able to really show how these people lose their minds and become the villains they were meant to become. Every bit of story is meant to lead them down this dark path. I hope Jim knows what he is getting into when he “Follows the White Rabbit” in the next episode.

Once Upon a Time SN6 E4 – Strange Case

Finally!  Things are starting to pick up now.

We found out how to kill Hyde and by default The Evil Queen.  However, no one likes it.  I suspected it all along though, so I’m anxious to see how they finish her off without getting rid of Regina.  I’m betting it somehow involves putting the two halves back together again.  Does ABC employ all the kings horses and all the kings men?

Snow is a teacher again, and guess who her new teaching assistant is!  Go ahead guess….

It’s JASMINE!

Sorry, I couldn’t keep that in any longer.

Gold gave himself a haircut.  He did a pretty good job, too.  Maybe he should open a barber shop instead of a pawn shop.  Hey, Gold, I need a cut and style… whaddya say?  Everyone seemed to think the new cut accentuated his eyes.  I think it just made him look all the more sinister.  He still hasn’t learned though that he can’t order Belle around or keep her a prisoner, even if he’s only doing it to keep her safe.  Cause, man, he can’t win for losing.  Thank goodness, Killian was on the ball… and that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

And, let’s see a show of hands… how many of you knew that it was Jekyll that was the bad guy all along?  I’m not gonna say that I knew he was the bad guy, but I did know that he was hyding (like what I did there?) something and lying out his … uh… glass beakers.  I spied the lovely Elizabeth Blackmore as Mary.  She also plays Lady Toni on Supernatural (so even if I don’t like Lady Toni, she’s still part of the SPN Family).

I love what the writers did with the title of the episode.  If you don’t get it, go look it up.  It won’t hurt you to know something about classic literature.

Next week, we finally get Jaladdin!  I’m soooooo excited!

MacGyver SN1 E4 – Wire Cutter

It was nice to see them sticking with the “opening gambit” formula this week.  Riley, Thorton, and Jack all make it back to the getaway vehicle but Angus is late.  As usual.  But, of course, he makes it in time to deliver a quick line and make good his escape with his team.

I loved the scene with Bozer’s intervention.  See, Bozer has seen the program running on Mac’s laptop … ya know, the one where he’s looking for Nikki.  However, since Bozer doesn’t know all the secret details about Mac’s job, he doesn’t know that Nikki isn’t dead.  So all of Mac’s friends that are in on the secret are there with Bozer to try and convince Mac to get on with his life and let the dead girlfriend go, because it’s just creepy.  I just know that at some point (perhaps season cliffhanger time) Nikki’s gonna show up again.  Also present at the intervention is Penny Parker (played by Bianca Malinowski)!  If you watched the original, you’ll recognize that name.  In the classic serious, the role was played by Teri Hatcher.  In this new version, she’s not someone that Mac met while on a mission and had to get out of trouble.  Nope.  In this version, they’ve known each other since childhood, but at least she’s still an actress.

In this episode, Mac & Co. have to work with an aging Russian programmer and his handler to stop a Russian terrorist from setting off a nuclear bomb from the cold war era.  So basically, older versions of Mac and Jack.  This gives us the best line of the episode when Riley says, “It’s like someone put you two in a copy machine and you came out all wrinkly and Russian.”  But, a close runner up is George Eads singing Salt n Pepa’s Push It.  I still have that song stuck in my head.  Thanks, Mr. Eads.

Again they showed us the bowl of paper clips.  I really like this running gag.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… George Eads’ Jack Dalton makes this show for me.  I probably wouldn’t watch it without him.
