The Expanse SN1 EP6 – Rock Bottom

If you’re wondering what TV series you should be watching for free online or on demand, look no further. You need to be watching The Expanse over on the Syfy channel.
If you’re new to the series, click here to start from the beginning. If you’re caught up on things, then get ready. Episode 6 is fast paced.
Earth
To start, we quickly touch base with events on Earth. It’s the end of a conversation between Avarasala and an old acquaintance. She’s trying to strike a deal with him. She’s asking for spy equipment so she can spy on Fred Johnson. In return, she offers her “friend” a deal he can’t refuse.
Ceres Station
It’s a few minutes after Miller’s kidnapping at the end of Episode 5. It turns out Dawes is behind the abduction. Dawes is mad at Miller for not taking the deal he offered to give up Havelock’s attacker. He now decides Miller needs to be “taken care of.” But before that, he decides to question Miller to find out exactly what he knows about Julie Mao.
As Dawes and his thugs beat Miller to get information, we learn a bit of Dawes’s background. We hear the story of the sister who Dawes loved and the choices he had to make for the good of his family. It seems those rough choices led Dawes to the OPA.
Finally, Dawes is done. He has Miller taken to be executed, but Miller is saved by Octavia Muss. She get’s Miller back to his apartment but is shaken from the ordeal. In saving Miller, she also kills for the first time.
Octavia Muss
Miller is finally able to look into the data chip he pulled from the hamster in Julie Mao’s apartment back in EP 5. He takes his findings directly to the Star Helix station and his Captain. The Captain listens as he gives his report and his theory on the Julie Mao case. Then, to our surprise, locks the chip away and fires Miller.
It seems Dawes has gotten to her.
Abandoned Asteroid Mine
A side story is interspersed with the scenes of EP 6. Two asteroid miners, an uncle and his nephew, are out in the asteroid belt scavenging for ore.
As they finish with the asteroid, they’re suddenly hailed by an MCRN (Mars Congressional Republic Navy) ship, the MCRN Scipio Africanus, and told to prepare to be boarded. The MCRN troops tell the uncle and nephew they are not authorized to be where they are. They’re also informed that their ore is being confiscated and they must take the long way around the area to get home.
Unfortunately, the miner’s ship does not have enough fuel to make it.
After an argument with the troops where the uncle insists they’re not doing anything wrong, the troops leave.
Later, the drunk and frustrated uncle tosses the nephew out into space then speeds off towards the MCRN Scipio Africanus.
Holden. Naomi. Amos. Alex. Fred Johnson.
Holden and crew arrive at Tycho Station.
Finally face to face, Holden asks Johnson why he’s invited them. There’s a palpable tension in the air since no one trusts anyone. While Amos and Holden enter a standoff with Johnson and his security force, Naomi has to take charge and diffuse things before they get out of hand.
Things calm down and we find out that Johnson actually needs Holden’s help to find a survivor of the Scopuli. Naturally, Holden agrees to go search for the survivor alone. This causes an argument with Naomi, Amos, and Alex who don’t want to be left on Tycho with Johnson. During the argument, the truth about who really sent the distress call out from the Canterbury comes out.
Naomi and Johnson’s crew get the Rocinante ready for the mission. Finally having some down time, Holden, Naomi, Amos, and Alex get to know each other. We get to find out a bit about each of their pasts.
When the Rocinante is ready for take-off, Holden is pleasantly surprised to find that Naomi, Amos, and Alex have all decided to go with him. It seems they’re all finally bonding.
As we’re shown scenes of how close the four are becoming, we hear Johnson explaining the parameters of their search and the dangers ahead.
Finally, they set off and the audience is left with the feeling of nervous excitement as if the climax of the season is finally here.

Criminal Minds: A replacement for ‘Hotch’?

According to TVLine two new BAU members will be cast to eventually fill the space Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) left behind on the team. No details have emerged yet about what kind of characters that might be or who is thought fit to fill that position on Criminal Minds. Criminal Minds is keeping everything concerning these new members very hush-hush as they are still working out all the details after Thomas Gibsons sudden departure of the show. Enough is already said about that so I won’t elaborate on that.
Opinions on the internet are not in favour of adding an outsider to replace Hotch, as Aaron Hotchner is lovingly called. People would rather see Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Jennifer Jareu (AJ Cook) or David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) as the new Unit Chief. It would feel more like a natural flow as one progresses in a team. And their main concern is how many agents does one need on a team. I think they have a valid point with that as two new members were already added this season, Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez, CSI: Miami) and Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler, Whose Line is it Anyway?)
So I truly hope that the executives of Criminal Minds will listen to the fans and opt for an in-house promotion rather than appointing some outsider as unit chief. Either way the team will be severely shaken up by the events of Hotch leaving the BAU. And suffice it to say the show will never be the same (at least for me that is).
Post-Brexit Television: Nigel Farage Mockumentary To Be Broadcast On BBC2

It has been announced that Nigel Farage will be the subject of his own mockumentary. Set to air on BBC2, Nigel Farage Gets His Life Back will star Kevin Bishop as the former UKIP leader as he tries to cope with life after his resignation from the party. The new show is being described as a fly-on-the-wall mockumentary, similar to past mockumentaries such as Arrested Development and Come Fly With Me. So far the show is planned as a one-off rather than a series but it is possible this could change if the episode proves to be a success.
But what aspects of Nigel Farage’s life should the episode follow? Here’s what I would like to see from BBC2’s new show.
Farage In The Jungle
It has been said that ITV are desperate for Nigel Farage to appear on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, so wouldn’t it be funny to see him decide to go in the jungle? The rest of the episode could follow him trying to prepare for life in the celebrity-based competition, before an ITV producer rings him up to inform him that he has been replaced with the Chuckle Brothers.
The Trump Who Came To Dinner
Recently Nigel Farage joined Donald Trump across the pond at a presidential Mississippi rally, so what if in BBC2’s new show the pair are actually good friends? Perhaps the one-off episode could see Nigel Farage invite Donald Trump around for dinner. Imagine the dinner conversation they could have! It would be like Lord Voldemort and Darth Vader discussing the rise of mudbloods over breakfast at Doctor Doom’s castle.
Loose Farage
What does someone do when they’re jobless?
They watch daytime television of course!
So let’s see Nigel Farage’s view of it. What does he think of Loose Women? Is he an avid viewer of The Chase? Or is Pointless more his style? Nigel Farage may be no stranger to appearing on daytime television but I would have thought as leader of the UKIP party he would have been too busy to actually watch it before.
“I Told You, I’m Done!”
This isn’t the first time Nigel Farage has resigned from UKIP as the party has practically begged him to return in the past. What if they were to do so again? Would Nigel Farage return to his party or tell them to get lost?
Let’s see Nigel Farage change the locks on his house so the UKIP members can’t get in. Let’s see him change his landline number so they can’t keep harassing him over the phone. Let’s see Nigel Farage become a hermit and recluse himself from the world.

Another thing I would like to see is Nigel Farage having the night lifestyle of an 18 year old teenager. I want to see Nigel Farage partying into the early hours of the morning. It’s time for Farage to get his groove on…and wake up with a massive hangover. And because he’s such a major political celebrity, the Daily Mail have pictures of his antics published the next day. Ouch.
Nigel Farage Gets His Life Back will be written by comedy writers Alan Connor and Shaun Pye, behind the hugely successful comedy shows The Rack Pack and A Young Doctor’s Notebook. An air date has yet to be confirmed for the episode. It is currently unknown whether Nigel Farage himself will be watching.
Grey’s Anatomy Is Back To Basics

Grey’s Anatomy will return on ABC on Thursday the 22nd of September.
I have learned that this season, it’s 13th, will focus on the remaining original cast members: Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). How much has changed in 12 years that there are only 4 original cast members left out of the 9 who started. Best not to dwell on that and look forward with some good news. They have all signed new contracts so we are bound to see more of them.
So a very small recap with some interesting stuff that I have learned about what is in store for us this season. Last season ended with some pretty intense stuff and it seems that we will pick up right where we left them.
Karev will have to deal with his altercation with Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) and the aftermath of that over a misunderstanding with his on-and-off girlfriend Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington). Will Wilson finally tell Karev the truth or will she keep it to herself with all the consequences that entails.
How will the love triangle between Meredith Grey, Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) and Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) evolve if at all. Last we know both Grey and Pierce have feelings for Riggs. Pierce told Grey that she had feelings for him after Grey slept with Riggs. A chick fight waiting to happen or will Grey take a step back in favor for her sister. And than we have Riggs off course, what will he do. Will he give up Grey or will he fight for her?
And who could forget the wedding at the end of season 12 between Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd). Will they, won’t they. They did eventually. Off course the dynamics in the Grey’s household will change now that Shepherd is finally married to Hunt. Although it has been said that Shepherd will still help Grey raising her kids. How exactly, I don’t know. But I will be in a Grey-style.
The saga of Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew) will continue. Will they get back together now that Kepner is pregnant again with Avery’s child or not. There were signs that the relationship might be on the tracks again, but nothing is for sure on Grey’s Anatomy.
I won’t tell you any major spoilers even if I could, because spoilers (yes, a little Dr Who reference). But from what I have read it is going to be an interesting season story wise. Let’s hope the writers will use that potential to its fullest.
We will find out in less than a month on the 22nd of September on ABC. Stay tuned as I will review Grey’s Anatomy when it is back again on the air.

This week’s Weekly Bookette by @darthaybak features indie books. The reviewed books include both light and dark material, from the lightness of “Let’s Dance On Our Wedding Day” to the far darker “The Hat That Danced in the Wind” trilogy. Even though The Little Librarian tied the knot this summer, @alyjoshaver managed to read a LOAD of books. Check out her June & July Haul and Wrap Up of Doom!
COMICS:
Read why @concreteshawzee made a recommendation for the Alterna Comics 10th AnniverSERIES Anthology. Don’t forget, we LOVE Indie! Indie games, indie comics, indie shorts… For a change of pace, and a return to the campy 60’s, @dammitrooster waxes nostalgic about the return of Adam West and Burt Ward in an animated adventure, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.
GAMES:
In our Games section this week, @auburn_geek is excited for the release of NVIDIA’s Indie Spotlight Program which will help good indie games get to where they should be. Check out what @dellarscott wrote in his No Man’s Sky “Idiot’s Log”. Meanwhile, @gaming8811 happily reviewed an Indie game called Never Alone. Find out what he thought about it, and have I mentioned? We LOVE Indie!
MOVIES:
Last week @franpan was all about Spider-Man: Homecoming, and @starkwyvrngamer brought us BIG news about the Mary Poppins Sequel. And on the sequel front, Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is not really going to be a sequel, says @sohodoll, but she’s excited about it, and would love to hear your thoughts.
MUSIC:
Our music writers are very busy people! @presh81 did reviews on American Horror Story, the Top 50 Weekly Singles Chart, The Weekend Box Office Movie Chart, and Fresh Friday as well as other articles! @Deadpool_1984 not only does the UFC, he also picked Massachusetts Punk band The Unseen and their track Scream Out for his Track of the Week, and also talked about The Punisher.
VLOGS:
In our vlog section, @alyjoshaver went to the St. Louis Zoo to catch Pokemon, and dance to kpop. Girls just wanna have fun! Join her, @meaganprecourt and @chellybean4894 for the Uglies readalong. @heyankitverma took a well deserved break last week, but you can catch his earlier video review of Suicide Squad.

Last week in Television, @DalekBuster523 tried to decide which high profile Marvel character would make a cameo in the coming season of Agents of Shield. The Walking Dead will open its new season with a major death. Read @Netta_Bear13 speculations about who it might be. Writer @este_guy reviewed the season finale of Scream. @luvnidleness introduced us to Peaky Blinder, the best show you’ve never watched, @langlangbrenda wondered about the possible return of those ghastly Weeping Angels, and @awesomect98 teases with the Scream Queens season 2 trailer. Writer @devenbhagwandin catches up on The Expanse. Meanwhile, @MaliaYourTita of LoyalBloodline.clothing, hangs out with Ballers, @reille78 has discovered that Joss Whedon may be involved with an upcoming favorite show, and @b2daitch continues her Summer Binge Watch with Charmed. @fondofjesus marvels at the DC Extended Universe take worldwide. UFC:
@Deadpool_1984 brought some surprising news on a meeting of the minds between rival fighters McGregor and Diaz. Stay tuned for his upcoming review of the UFC 202 in Vegas.
WRESTLING:
The week of August 13th to 20th saw @alexthed sharing his thoughts on WrestleMania’s Brock Lesnar – Dean Ambrose wingding. @mak10gator discovered some shocking news about superstar suspensions just days before SummerSlam. WWE Raw fan-atic @therealdills was first excited, then got to flinching over the over use of the term “Demon King” by the end of the show. @mitch_rated brought us his review of NXT – August 17th. @oliverwoodster talks Smack…. Down Live after a brief hiatus.
INTERVIEWS:
Cosplayer interviewer, @skatronixxx did interviews with the Maid of Might and MCubed, both very talented cosplayers. And what did I do, you ask? Well, I did an interview of Satinder Kassoana and a writeup for his Indie Drama production – Don’t Walk Among the Dead. Told you we love Indie!

Steven Universe SN4 EP5 – ‘Mindful Education’

A new episode of Steven Universe aired tonight, and boy howdy was it awesome. I really do adore this show, and decided to do my first review on this episode even though it is the fifth episode of season 4.
Now Mindful Education is about the fusion between Steven and Connie. Turn back if you haven’t see this show as this really might not make sense. But watch it, because it is amazing.
Mindful education starts off pretty sad, as Connie is upset about something. She is not there and usually she is ready and eager. Steven tries to make her laugh with a gag and it doesn’t even register with her.
When Pearl and Garnet come in to begin the training Connie seems to have forgotten they were even going to train today. They begin training and Stevonnie the fusion and a portmanteau of Steven and Connie begin doing well. Stevonnie even uses Steven’s floating power in a Yoshi inspired Flutter Kick. In a moment of weakness they split when their target seems to change into a small boy.
Connie runs off as the fusion dissipates and tells Steven that she beat up a boy, do to her training. Garnet being the master fusion that she is decides to help them, as she loves helping anyone especially when it comes to Steven and Fusion of course.
This is where the episode gets really good, as Garnet and Stevonnie meditate, they go into their minds and Garnet begins to sing. She sings a beautiful song and the two pairs fall apart and come back together feeling so much better after it.
Connie fixes things with the boy and then comes rushing in after school to do more training. She and Steven again start out strong but now it is Steven’s turn to break down as he sees all the people he let down, at least in his mind as they all refused help.
Steven is helped by Connie in a beautiful moment as they fall, and they fuse together.Stevonnie lands in a field happier then ever as both parts of her have fixed what ailed them.
This truly was a fantastic episode, and had a great song that really made this episode shine. I cannot wait for next Thursday’s episode.
Justice League Dark Moving Forward, ‘Snatches’ Gambit Director

‘They must just cancel the Gambit movie’ was my first thought after learning that Doug Liman who was gonna be the director for Gambit had jump-shipped to DC. He is taking an offer to direct one of the DC enterprise’s most iconic teams, the Justice League Dark, also referred to as the Dark Universe.
Gambit finds itself in another setback as the film has gone through numerous struggles to get off the ground. This is not the first time the film has lost a director as it previously lost Rupert Wyatt. The film also has had many production issues, including multiple script rewrites. It seems as this might be the final nail in the coffin.
As for The DC Universe, Warner Bros. keeps surprising us with the movies they keep adding to the already cluttered DC slate. It was recently confirmed that Man of Steel 2 was moving into production, and now comes Justice League Dark. It shows they have a lot of faith in their DC properties. That’s a good thing, considering some haters have been wanting the DC Universe to be scrapped, for whatever reasons they might have.
The plot details for JL Dark are still under wraps, and production start date has not been announced. Scott Rudin and Michael Gilio are respectively set to produce and write the epic.
No release date has been announced yet. Justice League Dark consists of an ensemble team of Constantine, Zatanna, Swap Thing, Deadman and Etrigan the Demon. It is unclear whether Matt Ryan who portrayed Constantine in the NBC show of the same name will reprise his role in the film.
