Big Bang Theory S10 E9 ‘The Geology Elevation’

Everyone but Sheldon is excited for Burt winning the MacArthur Genius Grant. It seems like the more things change the more they stay the same with Sheldon.  Howard shows off his remote controlled Steven Hawking which really is in poor taste. Howard clearly just doesn’t understand why it is so wrong.

Sheldon and Leonard go for a walk to let him calm down after reading Burt’s paper. Bernadette dares Howard to show Steven Hawking his remote controlled version. OF course Howard doesn’t do it because he is afraid of how he will react. Instead Howard shows it off to everyone who say its awful. He eventually shows it to Barry Kripke who loves it and this stops his fun.

Sheldon goes to congratulate Burt on his own. This moment is great because Sheldon hates giving praise to people. He loves being the one who is praised. Sheldon feels okay about this for a moment when Burt says he wants to nominate Howard for the award. This makes Sheldon leave as he has always discounted Howard. Sheldon might be nicer to him now but this troubles him deeply.

Burt then tells Sheldon that he is a great man and he has always been jealous that he has Amy. Sheldon is happy until Burt says he can do better than Amy since he is rich which provokes Sheldon. With one karate chop Sheldon is in pain and leaves.

Steven Hawking contacts Sheldon and makes him feel good.In a twist Hawking actually wants a remote controlled version of himself, though Howard never hears this. Sheldon and Burt are friendly enough that they go to see Ellen together, a rather weird way to end the episode.

American Dad S12 E2 ‘Fight or Flight’

Steve is excited about his midterm grade when he gets an F. Snot is taking too much Zoloft and is still depressed it is rather humorous. Steve’s grade is unfix-able and he freaks. Poor Steve he can’t catch a break.

Stan is also upset because Steve’s grades are all he has. I love when Stan really show he cares about Steve because it is often rare. Stan helps Steve to get an A. This won’t turn out poorly for either of them, right?

Klaus sings a sad song about his wish to be a terrible human. His idea about what looks good is certainly questionable.

Stan brings in Vin Diesel to help with Steve’s project. Of course he tells him that Steve is a make a wish kid, low blow Stan. Stan brings Steve to the CIA’s secret sound stage where they filmed the moon landing. Stan even steals the spirit of saint Louis to make the project really shine.

Klaus orders terrible shoes and goes with Haley to find them. Roger is trouble again as he is just the most selfish alien even though he acts like he is helping.

Stan talks Steve down and breaks his heart. Klaus finds the man who took his shoes claiming they were his and freaks out not so accordingly. Steve’s film premieres and is full of inaccuracies. Steve can’t take it and heads outside, he won’t do something crazy right?

Klaus realizes the man doesn’t have his shoes and goes off with Haley to get them.The man apparently silences the murderer off screen.

Steve takes the Spirit of St Louis to prove himself. It is always best when these characters go overboard. He of course can’t fly well as Stan drops in.Stan apologizes for being so stupid as Steve has flown to Paris successfully. The plane crashes as Steve lands with a parachute. Turns out it isn’t Paris but a confusing Disney theme park in their hometown of Langley falls.

American Dad is good when it is crazy. Stan and Steve have actually been doing things a lot more recently and that is pretty cool. Excited to see what other misadventures they get into this year.

New Girl S6 E7 ‘The Last Thanksgiving’

Jess wakes everyone up early to prep for Thanksgiving. Schmidt is excited his dad is coming for Thanksgiving and Nick is stokes for his girlfriend Regan is coming.

After hitting him in the previous episode Robby can’t fly so he comes to hang out with Jess. She doesn’t like him in the way he likes her and can’t dump him. Winston offers to take care of Robby so Jess doesn’t have to.

Schmidt’s father comes to the door and is upset about his girlfriend dumping him. The day won’t turn out as nicely as the gang hoped it seem. I love this show because it is so real, there are always little curves in days and it is so relatable.

Regan has work so isn’t coming to Thanksgiving. It’s not so surprising because of how her character is. Winston keeps an eye on Robby as Schmidt talks to his father. Schmidt decides to get drunk with Nick and his father.

Schmidt asks Nick to save his Thanksgiving with his father. Jess is going to break up with Robby and it will be hard. Schmidt’s father talks to her and Schmidt and Nick go to find his ex.

Schmidt’s father and Jess once dated and Robby sees their interaction causing him to leave. Schmidt and Nick go to see his dad’s ex when they find he is seeing 5 different women.

Robby is okay with Jess not liking him. Schmidt is upset with his father as he should be, because Schmidt wanted to have a nice holiday with his dad. Robby stands up even though his leg is broken and talks passionately about Jess. Jess has feelings for Robby after this.

Nick ends up throwing the Turkey at the wall. Jess runs after Robby.Schmidt is the bigger man in his relationship with his father and tells him he loves him. Jess brings Robby back and Schmidt cuts the Turkey, or what is left of it.

They have dinner and Regan texts Nick a nice text. Even though she doesn’t come Nick is happy. They cheer to the last loft Thanksgiving and reminisce.

A great Thanksgiving episode. I am curious how the next Thanksgiving will be shown on the show as it has always popped up in past seasons. Things are changing but I hope we have another Thanksgiving episode next season.

New Girl S6E10 ‘The Christmas Eve Eve’

The gang is celebrating Halloween when it hits November 1st, and Jess is ready for Christmas. The gang decides to not do Christmas which troubles Jess even though clearly Christmas should be cancelled. Jess suggests they do secret Santa and everyone agrees.

Nick has started calling thing relating to Schmidt as “Jew things” a thing that just makes sense for Nick to do. Jess has the perfect gift for Nick in mind after he buys what she bought immediately.

Schmidt doesn’t sign for Winston’s Secret Santa and as it is for Cece Schmidt decides to team up with him.

Jess gets Reagan to come to see him for Christmas. Nick is swamped at the bar for the first time for Christmas  and Jess goes with Cece to help. Nick goes to do his taxes for the bar and Jess eventually checks up on him. In true Nick fashion he has bought a ticket to fly to Seattle to see his girlfriend Reagan who is coming to see him.

Nick has noticed that Jess has been acting so weird since he came back. He is rude and she spoils the secret because her feelings are hurt.

Winston has gotten Cece a bean bag chair because of a game they played once. Schmidt wants him to get something else. Winston and Cece’s relationship is quite funny as Schmidt seems just a little jealous that he is getting along so well with her.

Jess didn’t get a gift and Winston got two so he gives his second gift to Jess. Reagan comes in and isn’t greeted in the best way.Though Nick does say that seeing was like being 10 years old on Christmas morning which is probably one of the most endearing things he has ever said.

Nick whips up a great present for Jess involving Darlene Love singing her favorite childhood Christmas song. There is a lovely moment where you can see how much all of them love each other.

A great Christmas episode to a wonderful show. The characters all care about each other so much and they are so much more like a family than a group of friends.

Big Bang Theory S10E8 ‘The Brain Bowl Incubation’

Amy is taking a skin sample from Sheldon who is afraid. She takes it quickly and of course it doesn’t hurt. Their interaction is so odd it’s always sweet. Amy has combined her cells with Sheldon and is excited about creation. Sheldon is joyous about their mixture and is acting like a proud father.

Raj is working when the cleaning lady in the office comes in. They share a moment and Raj is clearly smitten. Raj won’t tell his friends the truth about the woman he met. The gang wants to meet her but he can’t have that. Raj works with the cleaning lady because he is into her. He flirts with her but she rebuffs him because she is busy with 2 jobs. Poor Raj always trying to win women over. He really has grown since he actually can talk to women this deeply.

Sheldon tells Amy he wants to make a baby with her. He thinks their baby would be the greatest ever. Amy just isn’t ready for this as it’s just odd. Sheldon attempts to act sexy causing Amy to leave. Such an awkward man.

Raj sets up a dinner for the cleaning lady and she accepts. Amy tells Penny and Sheldon wanting a baby and how it troubles her.  Sheldon is working to have relations with Amy. It is a little unsettling seeing him like this. She leaves because he is really too much.

Raj and his lady friend are having a nice time when Howard comes in ruining it. Howard never knows what to say, as he is still just as awkward as before even if he is married. Raj tells her weird things about him so she will give him a chance. She lets him take her out to dinner on Sunday.

Sheldon tries one last time to woo her with a Flamenco dance. He asks Penny and Leonard if they are excited as Amy calms herself from her excitement. Sheldon is such a great character because he can really do anything. You never know what to expect from Sheldon as he is always breaking conventions.

Son of Zorn S1 E7 ‘The Battle of Thanksgiving’

The family is doing a Turkey trot. They don’t want Zorn to come to Thanksgiving because of his track record. Zorn is scared by an air-horn and dashes like a speed demon. Zorn’s energy is certainly superhuman since he is a cartoon.

Zorn tells Alan to ask his grandmother for money for band camp. Ah the money of grandmother’s they do usually want to help their grand kids. Zorn is bored at work and soon finds his boss who says they are hanging out together.

Zorn is hanging with his boss and they talk about Thanksgiving. He leaves to prove himself. Edie’s mother is actually being nice to her which surprises her. They aren’t surprised when Zorn comes to the door of course.

Craig talks Edie into letting Zorn stay. Edie’s mother clearly hates Zorn. Zorn acts sophisticated but still won’t wear pants.Craig gives Zorn his pants but Zorn can’t get them on.

Craig talks to Zorn and gets Zorn to agree to everything. Edie’s mother makes them watch a documentary that makes Zorn the villain of Zephyria. This woman is rather vindictive, she really should be put in her place.

He goes to apologize and his pie kills her.He calls on Alan who brings in Craig. To enact the cure Craig has to kiss her. Edie comes in and sees him kissing her mom so he throws Zorn under the bus. Craig is usually so nice that is humorous seeing him do this.

Zorn apologizes to them all and heads out after Edie explodes at them. Edie kicks her mother out when she shows her true colors. It is good to see Edie finally stand up to her terrible mother, parents don’t deserve to make their kids feel terrible. Then she takes her family to have Thanksgiving at Zorn’s apartment.

Last Man on Earth S3 E7 ‘Mama’s Hide-away’

Carol is really going all in on being Gail’s adoptive daughter. She wants to take family photos but Gail won’t. Lewis comes in and thanks Tandy for helping him in the last episode. I am glad to see these two have become friends. It is never good when characters don’t see eye to eye.

Melissa is losing it and she has a fake baby. She wants to break up with Todd because she really wants a baby. Melissa is such an interesting character because she has changed from such a straight laced character to a rather insane one.

Lewis finds old planes and decides he wants to fly. He seems to be flying when his plane crashes and it turns out to be a flight simulator.

Carol goes to see Gail and she sends her away invoking her new mom rights.Hilarious seeing them act like mother and daughter. Tandy goes to see Melissa and she tells him they are going to make a baby.He rebuffs her and is pushed out.

Gail and Carol complain about the other. Tandy tells Todd about Melissa and he finds out he was third choice. He heads off to find Lewis. Not being able to find her he goes Carol who inadvertently learns her own lesson.

Gail drives around and  finds a place for her to sneak off to. They find the power is overloaded so they turn off the power to all the buildings. They have no idea Gail is in an elevator in one of the other buildings. Uh-oh.

Gail is trapped in an elevator and after Todd tells Melissa he loves her she runs away. I have wonder how things will turn out for Gail especially as she is trapped in the elevator.

New Girl S6 E6 ‘Ready’

Jess is ready to date again after so long. Nick wants to focus on his writing and asks Cece to manage the bar. As Jess goes out to tell her friends she is ready Schmidt comes out to tell them about his neck weight. Jess takes Schmidt to her gym to help him.

Jess and her friend Robby are clearly a match for each other. Schmidt thinks Jess should give it a shot and date Robby. They do look nice to each other.

A woman flirts with Winston who doesn’t understand it. Nick writes at his bar and is troubled by CeCe’s hiring. Winston is in a relationship and being so nice he hates shutting down women.

Jess has an odd but fun date and ends up ending it by calling him a friend. Worse way to show someone you want to be more than friends.

Schmidt talks to Jess and she tells him her date troubles. Jess couldn’t see herself marrying Robby and it was just a strange moment. He tells her just to have fun and kiss Robby.

Cece gives Schmidt a super long scarf which troubles him. Cece takes pictures of her new hire to help him in his modeling career. Nick can’t write because he is unsure of why this new bartender is so attractive.

Jess and Robby have a moment at the gym and Schmidt tells her to go get him. Jess tells Robby she did want to kiss him. She goes to kiss him while he is lifting a huge weight and it soon drops on them breaking Robbie’s nose. Not a great memory for a first kiss.

Jess also hurts her neck and has realized she isn’t into Robby. Schmidt thinks Cece thinks he is fat but Jess just tells him to be fat and happy and hang out with Cece. Jess goes to talk to Robby and fix things.

Nick crushes Winston so women won’t hit on him anymore. Nick finally comes to term with why the new bartender is attractive. Cece shows off her managerial power and inspires Nick.

Jess goes to tell Robby she isn’t into him and hurts him physically instead. Schmidt is eating cake and feels good because Cece will always love him. Jess decides to pretend to be into him to heal him before breaking his heart.

Nick brings in more models to help at the bar. He then tells her she should manage models. Seeing this change Schmidt decides he needs to work out she doesn’t get tired of him.

An episode where our characters all were able to grow in some way. I really thought it was a nice one. It is good to see character’s grow all throughout the seasons  and become better people.

Doctor Who: New Return of Doctor Mysterio Trailer Released

A new trailer for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, The Return of Doctor Mysterio has been released:

Lasting only thirty seconds, the trailer doesn’t reveal a great deal but it’s nice to see new footage of the Christmas Special all the same. There’s a mysterious spaceship above the Earth that likely belongs to the episode’s brain-swapping aliens and lots of homages to the 1978 Superman film (The Ghost (Justin Chatwin, Dragonball Evolution) flying with investigative reporter Lucy Fletcher (Charity Wakefield, Wolf Hall), for instance) – not surprising given that Steven Moffat is a self-proclaimed fan of Superman/Clark Kent– but otherwise there’s nothing particularly noteworthy.

This year’s Christmas Special sees the return of Matt Lucas (Little Britain) as Nardole, alongside Peter Capaldi‘s (The Thick of It) 12th Doctor. The Return of Doctor Mysterio also stars Tomiwa Edun (Death In Paradise) as Mr Brock, Logan Hoffman as Young Grant, Aleksandr Jovanovic (Tempel) as Doctor Sim and Lee Kemp (Sherlock) as a journalist.

The Return of Doctor Mysterio returns on Christmas Day at 5:45pm, with Series 10 following in April 2017.
