Pokemon Generations Shorts Incoming!

Pokemon animation usually just consists of Ash’s escapades and while the show is pretty great there is a need for something more.

Ever since Pokemon began people have wanted to see the battles in all their glory. Sometimes the anime can be a little tame for the older viewers.

Ever since they released the Red and Blue Special fans have been clamoring for more.

Now we are getting what we have asked for in the form of shorts. Shorts with all the action and realism they could fit into a Pokemon series.

This series will run until December 23 of this year and show off some of the greatest moments in Pokemon lore.

The poster is amazing and shows off the Villainous leaders as they are central to much of the series plot.

I am excited to see more and see these amazing scenes fully realized. The Red and Blue Special was fantastic. If this is as good then I will be happy. Clearly they are bringing their A game with this series.

Look for it on YouTube and get ready to be blown away by Pokemon Action! The generations are coming and they will be bringing on an onslaught of the best Pokemon has to offer.

One Piece vs DBZ Is Coming To A 3DS Near You!

A magical thing is happening. Though not yet announced anywhere but Japan two titanic anime series are uniting to fight.

Arc systems who released Dragon Ball Z Budoten and is now making One Piece Grand Pirate Colosseum are opening a golden door.

The door between these two series will be open with an update. Soon players will be able to see and play through dream fights.

This is really something spectacular. Both of these series are two of the greatest anime ever. To see them come together like this is astonishing. I’m curious which match ups people are excited for.

The possibilities are endless. I’m excited for the future and to see what other combinationa of anime universe’s could come from it.

Pokemon Sun And Moon Anime News!

https://i0.wp.com/serebii.net/corocoro10165.jpg

The Pokemon Anime is still going strong after years of Ash’s adventures. This show will honestly continue as long as people show interest in the world of Pokemon.

It has recently been shown that the next series of Pokemon which is titled Pokemon Sun and Moon the Anime is coming soon. It will obviously coincide with the release of the games in Japan.

The odd thing about this season is that Ash will be working to graduate school. Clearly he isn’t giving up his ambition to become a Pokemon Master but it looks like he realizes he has some learning to do.

In the XYZ Anime he got all the way to second place in the Kalos League but he has been unable to truly win a league. It looks like Ash is finally going to get the education he hasn’t gotten. Though honestly I think Ash has learned so much just journeying around the Pokemon world.

It looks like this show will introduce us to many new characters and clearly Ash will continue to catch new Pokemon. I am curious to see how this series plays out though. There will definitely be a new status quo in this series but I think it will still be just as Pokemon as ever.

Ash will also gain a Z Ring and be able to unleash powerful moves with his Pokemon. I am curious if he will bring back old Pokemon as he really does have quite the group of Pokemon. So many Pokemon that he has bonded with and do truly love him.

He will also be journeying with the energetic Mallow, a trial captain, similar to Gym Leaders yet different. Her partner is Bounsweet and she clearly loves to cook. I’m curious how they will meet, and how honestly Ash will meet all of the characters shown on the poster.

It really does show so much that fans will be able to analyze and think about as we wait for the show, especially with the amount of news we are getting now. Pokemon is on the minds of its fans non stop I am sure.

Look forward to more news about this anime in the coming weeks. Plus with a little less then 10 weeks to go, Pokemon Sun and Moon is almost within our grasps!

Microsoft Unpublishes NES Emulator For Xbox One

nesbox

It was revealed earlier in the week that an emulator for the Nintendo Entertainment System had been given the greenlight for release on the Xbox One App Store.

This was a surprise to many, as it meant Xbox One users would essentially be able to transform their console into a modern day NES. Emulators themselves aren’t illegal, it is the ROMs they generally come hand in hand with that are as they breach copyright law. It’s clear Microsoft didn’t want to risk opening themselves up to any kind of lawsuit, so they killed the project at the last moment.

The developer of the app took to Twitter to deliver the news, however the silver lining for fans of the project is that it’s still available to download on the Windows Store for Desktop, Windows Phone and even HoloLens. Rules for PC have always been more lenient, and given the number of Emulators and ROMs all over the Internet, it wouldn’t be worth Nintendo’s time trying to take action against them all.

Not that they took action here either. It seems Microsoft wanted to be ahead of the game with this one, citing that the Emulator fell into the games category rather than apps as the reason for its takedown:

“Apps that are targeted to Xbox One and are primarily gaming experiences must be approved through the ID@Xbox Program.”

Ultimately I doubt this is going to cause too much grief. Emulators and ROMs aren’t exactly difficult to get a hold of online, but it’s clear many people were looking forward to the convenience of having one available on the Xbox One. Still, this was highly unlikely to ever last long. Had it not held the ‘NES’ name in the title however, who knows, it might’ve actually made it on to the store.

If you’re looking to get your hands on some NES games legitimately however, I suggest you take a look at this advert for the upcoming ‘NES Classic Edition’.

Sony Not Allowing Mods For Fallout 4 Or Skyrim On PS4

Fallout 4 logo.png

It’s common knowledge that Bethesda, the videogame studio behind such fan favourites as the Fallout and Elder Scrolls Series (special shout out to Wayne Gretzky Hockey, the obvious pinnacle of gaming), ships their games with obvious bugs and missing features. As a result, the modding scene around the games has become almost as famous as the games themselves. With dedicated fans working hard to improve where Bethesda themselves may have fallen short. It has even become so big that Bethesda now offers full mod support for select games.

The breadth of user generated content is known well to PC gamers. Having just entered that rabbit hole myself, the amount of mods on offer can be just as overwhelming as the games they’re trying to improve, but ultimately they can enhance gameplay so much. Well either that or add something hilariously insane, like this mod that adds Teddy Bear Nukes into the game. Yes you read that right.

Teddy. Bear. Nukes.

Unfortunately whilst PC gamers have a seemingly unlimited number of mods to play with, and Xbox One owners a slightly more limited number, Playstation 4 owners aren’t going to be able to use mods at all. Bethesda wrote a message to fans, explaining the reasoning behind the decision:

“After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim: Special Edition.

“Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.”

The blame is definitely pointed in Sony’s direction then, but though it’s understandable for Bethesda to be annoyed, Sony likely has some valid concerns. Letting users make mods for whatever they want poses some serious problems when it comes to infringing on other companies IP. There are mods out there adding all sorts of things, from Thomas the Tank Engine to Toy Story, so it’s possible Sony is worried about this. That being said, rules are currently in place on the Xbox One version of Fallout 4, and the soon to be released Skyrim: Special Edition that prevent these kinds of infringements, so Sony’s stance here, coupled with their lack of clarification, is baffling.

This will only go towards damaging Sony’s image. Since the lackluster announcement of the PS4Pro, the domination Sony has held on the console scene seems to be wavering, something Microsoft was more than happy to capitalise on.

Bethesda ended their statement with an ominous “We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.” Not exactly hopeful then, but there’s always a chance it could turn around. In the meantime though, enjoy this video of nuclear teddy bears.

It’s A Me I’m A Hamster Mario!

Ok, don’t let the title fool you. It’s a short video of a Mario Bros set, with a cute fluffy dwarf hamster walking among it, not the hamster actually playing Mario Bros… that’s just silly.

But yes, there is a 38 second super cute fluffiness viral video out there with a hamster, a set and our video game classic music from Mario Bros we all grew up with. Though the hamster may not be going about saving the princess in the most productive way, the little guy does manage to make it to the castle at the end and is able to move on to the next level. (This set has not been built yet). The course he runs in complete with mushroom power, blocks, coins and secret tunnel pipes.

You can watch the brave little guy below and root for him on his way to the flag at the end of the level. And  bring a little smile to your day. They even gave him a little Mario hat!!! ^_^

LEGO Have Used The Resurrection Stone! LEGO Harry Potter Collection Confirmed For PS4

Earlier I wondered if LEGO’s Chamber of Secrets had been opened with the rumours of a remastered LEGO Harry Potter Collection for PS4. Well, enemies of the heir beware because it seems those rumours were true. LEGO have today confirmed that remastered versions of LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 are coming in a single disc release for Playstation 4.

The remastered edition of the LEGO Harry Potter games will contain a bunch of new features, including a character pack featuring Hogwarts founders Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin as well as Peeves the poltergeist, Harry Potter (Yule Ball), Ron Weasley (Ghoul), Hermione Granger (Pink Dress), Luna Lovegood (Lion Head) and Gilderoy Lockhart (Straightjacket).  The release will also feature a pack of new spells (including Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors, and Tentaclifors), as well as ‘enhanced graphics, environments, lighting, and visual effects’. New cutscenes haven’t been confirmed yet, although I would suspect this would be the case given that the original scenes featured the old-style LEGO miming rather than dialogue taken from the films.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection won’t be the only LEGO Harry Potter content released this year. The popular toys-to-life game LEGO Dimensions will be introducing the boy wizard to its players this year with a team pack comprising of Harry Potter, Lord Voldemort, Arthur Weasley’s flying Ford Anglia and the Hogwarts Express. A fun pack has also been confirmed featuring Hermione Granger, although the mini-build featured with the Hermione minifigure has yet to be announced.

2016 is proving to be a great year to be a Harry Potter fan, with the eighth Harry Potter story Harry Potter and the Cursed Child released in the form of a play and script book and Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them coming to cinemas this November. JK Rowling has also featured a trilogy of Hogwarts ebooks containing content from the official Harry Potter site Pottermore entitled Short Stories of Hogwarts: Of Power, Of Politics And Pesky Poltergeists, Hogwarts: AN Incomplete & Unreliable Guide and Short Stories Of Hogwarts: Of Heroism, Hardship And Dangerous Hobbies. The new ebooks are priced at £1.99 each.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is due to arrive on the PS4 via floo powder on the 21st October priced £39.99. It is currently unknown whether the collection will be released on other consoles but you can find the box art here:

PokemonGo Plus Is Coming Out Next Week on September 16th!

d30c863d843afa54566880bd5f8fb474

They announced Pokemon Go Plus awhile ago but inevitably pushed back it’s release date to an unspecified time.

It’s finally been announced that this little gizmo is finally coming out.

I think I was definitely more excited for this a few months ago and now am not sure if I really want it.

The idea of playing Pokemon Go with a wearable device is quite appealing though. It really can be such a pain to have to have your phone out all the time when you are playing this.

Plus with all of the issues that still exist I wonder how many people are going to jump in and buy this.

Eventually Pokemon Go will be fixed up I’m sure so it’s your call. Remember September 16th as that’s when it comes out!

Everything You Need To Know About The PlayStation Meeting

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1711

Sony have just wrapped up their meeting and what an eventful one it was. We’ve been given a glimpse of some new games not seen before and a few PS4 classics all playing in 4k with the help of HDR.

The show kicked off with our man; Andrew House, starting with the usual talk for the investors and share holders – then he moved on to discuss the growing playstation community and upcoming PS VR. This lead straight into the obvious announcement of the PS4 slim along with it’s price, but nothing was confirmed about specs, so it’s safe to assume it matches that of the current PS4.

rsz_2sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1721.png

Andrew spoke about how they’re all excited by 4k gaming and this was something that everyone wanted.

He also officially announced what was previously codenamed the PS4 Neo, with it’s official name – PS4 Pro

rsz_1sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1735.png

Mark Cerny came onto the stage and revealed more about HDR (High Dynamic Range) which means picture quality is that much better for gaming. Cerny also spoke about some of the specs of the ‘Pro’ which include a GPU  which has been doubled. The CPU has been boosted meaning we’re more likely to see games getting closer to that 60fps sweet spot. To most people’s relief this will ship with a 1TB hard drive, as most people will be filling up their current storage by now.

We then got to see some current and upcoming games running in real time on the PS4 Pro, using the new 4k and HDR abilities pictured below (not quite in 4k) –

From the upcoming Spider-Man PS4 exclusive

rsz_1sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1752.png

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1754.png

4K footage of Watch Dogs 2 was shown

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1767.png

We were also treated to some new gameplay for the up-and-coming game ‘For Honour’ as well as ‘Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’, ‘Rise Of The Tomb Raider’ all running in 4K.

Cerny then went back to HDR and explained why it’s so important to the picture quality you get whilst gaming. He demonstrated the difference you get when it’s turned on and off by showing some footage from ‘Days Gone’. What was shown was very impressive – clear night skies, bright sunny skies and some of the clearest pictures seen in gaming. The best part about this, is that all existing PS4 owners will get an update that enables HDR on their current console.

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1777.png

One of the best games to be shown today, came from Guerrilla Games in the form of ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ where they played a new demo in 4k and with HDR switched on. The result of this was mind shatteringly beautiful, unfortunately this picture doesn’t do it full justice –

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1794.png

The PS VR was also discussed in terms of how the PS4 Pro helps to improve certain things like visuals and the frame rate. It’s believed that the Pro won’t require the little black box that the basic PS4 will use to do things like 3D sound and allowing people to see gameplay via your TV.

For fans of the Mass Effect series (ME) we finally got a snippet of some gameplay for the new ‘Mass Effect Andromeda’, and yet again it was running in glorious 4K and making use of HDR –

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1823.png

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1829.png

As this was a visual demonstration, there wasn’t any details given about Mass Effect Andromeda or any of it’s mechanics, or even a release date. But it will keep fans going for the time being.

They finished up with the games section, announcing that ‘Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ will be 4K compatible from day one and again we got some new gameplay from the story mode this time.

With the release of the PS4 pro, we’ll see certain apps like YouTube and Netflix available on the console in 4K. But these likely will work depending on your internet connection.

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1834.png

And finally to finish the show, we got the announcement we’d all been waiting for – pictures of the PS4 Pro itself, along with the release date and pricing. I think most may be pleasantly surprised –

Ps4 Slim on the left, and PS4 Pro on the right

ps4_pro-660x370.png

Here’s a close up of the Pro

rsz_sony-ps4-slim-neo-2016-1856.png

With a release date of November 10th which is less than a month away from the PS VR’s October 13th slot, the question is how well this will sell? Sure Christmas is round the corner, and most people will trade in their old PS4 consoles, but £350 is a fair chunk of money after just spending the same amount on the VR (and possibly a 4K TV). Either way, it’s not likely to be a failure with that amount of power and capabilities under the hood.
