The Starters Final Forms are here which will you choose?!

They finally did it they revealed the last stages of Rowlett, Litten, and Popplio. Interestingly enough all of the leaks about what they’d look like really were real. Now I really must admit that they all look really nice and they should as the Final stages usually are very awesome.

Rowlett, the cute little round owl becomes a fierce Grass/Ghost archer called Decidueye. Decidueye really is cool, as he is wearing a hoodie that becomes the string for his bow. Clearly Rowlett has shed its cuteness and then its snobbiness from its second stage Dartrix.

Litten in its final form becomes a Fire/Dark wrestling Tiger known as Incineroar. I think they really didn’t need to make this pokemon stand on its legs, it really should have stayed a quadruped. But it does look menacing and at least it isn’t Fire/Fighting.

Popplio the bold sea lion  becomes a mermaid-esque Water/Fairy seal called Primarina. Primarina is definitely the most girly of the starters and that is okay. Her voice can be as soothing as it is deadly and she loves to perform. Clearly she is based on at least in part by Japanese Idols.

The three other guardians of Alola the Tapu’s were shown. Before now we have only seen Tapu Koko the first guardian. Now we finally get to see who he calls comrades. These pokemon all are super different but each have one amazing Z move called Guardian of Alola. It really does look quite awesome.

First up is Tapu Lele, the Psychic/Fairy of the group who looks rather like a hermit crab. She is rather cute and her ability conjures up psychic terrain which apparently makes things weird.

Then we have Tapu Bulu, who is Grass/Fighting and is clearly Bull like. This pokemon honestly looks funny to me but to each his own. Its ability summons up Grassy Terrain which heals any pokemon on its surface. This Pokemon may be a heavy hitter in the meta games, only time will tell.

Lastly we have Tapu Fini, who is Water/Fairy and when her shell is closed looks like a Marlin. Honestly she has to be my favorite of the three guardians revealed, she just looks the best to me.

Also shown in this trailer was a little cute Pokemon called Cosmog. While it may be cute, it also is going to be integral to the story. I must say I am curious how events will play out and what part this little guy will have in this.

They also showed off Alolan Persian who many feel looks a little garfieldish  and is of the Dark Type. This Pokemon may look somewhat horrendous but it has actually been thought to show off wealth.

The other amazing thing they showed off is some of the Post Game fun we will have. They showed off a league in the making and a tremendous facility called the Battle Tree. After showing off that the Sinnoh Champ Cynthia and the Ralts adoring trailer Wally, they really showed something amazing. Red and Blue are going to be in Sun and Moon, and of course you can battle them. Being the 20th anniversary of the games it makes sense that they’d be in the game, maybe we will even head back to Kanto as the main character moves from there anyway.

All I know is that I am beyond excited and with less than three weeks we don’t have long before the seventh generation begins. Watch the trailer below if you haven’t or if you have because its just that good. Tell me what game you are choosing by tweeting me @StarkWyvrnGamer.

Nintendo Switch Direct coming January 12th 2017!

The Nintendo Switch will be out in March and we know only so much about the system. Now Nintendo is keeping its word that there will be no news about the system until next year.

As sad as it is I am stoked because they announced a Nintendo Switch presentation on January 12th! This presentation will surely be awesome.

With 2 months until the trailer I’m sure they will keep working so they can show us something amazing. Not only will see the launch line up, but we will also find out other info about the system including its price.

So I cannot wait for January 12th and with only 11 weeks it won’t be long until we are hearing about the system which will define Nintendo for at least half a decade maybe longer.

Fan creates Sonic game called Sonic Utopia

Showcased at SAGE (Sonic Amateur Games Expo) the other day, a fan named Jordan Lange and his co-developers Murasaki Fox, Tpot and Pixy have created a game called Sonic Utopia.

Now if you don’t know what SAGE is, it’s a place where amateur developers can go and show off their versions of the Sonic games. Sometimes they hit it big like this fan did. It’s crazy to think that Sonic has such a huge following they have a whole expo dedicated to his games and allowing those who worship the speedy blue ball to show off their creations. Jordan Lange was announced at this last one for his amazing work on his version of the reflex packed game. I have linked the trailer below. You see how beautiful and vibrant it is, along with the 3D effect it takes on, panning from side to back views while Sonic is in motion.

This game is not out for download yet but it seems we shouldn’t have to wait for to long before one is available. Please enjoy the video below and tell me what you think. ^_^

Let’s talk about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Everyone knows about the Dragon Ball universe since the 80’s, I mean who never watched an episode of the awesome, clueless and childish hero of Son Goku, his flashy but also interminable fights against once of the greatest villains in anime history!!

Since then, they were so many Dragon Ball video games mainly produced recently by Bandai Namco or just Bandai if you prefer the old times… But next week in the world, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will finally be available to any fans of the series and also to gamers who like fast pace fighting games, people like me in sort. But by the look of it, this game will take back the serie to his golden age as Dragon Ball Tenkaichi Budokai 1, 2 and 3. The fact that it comes back to these mechanics gameplay but alas with a bit more fluidity and also a better graphics system and collision between warriors during fights, it also give a richer experience of reviving the most amazing and intense fights of the anime if you are a fan since day one.

Yes! The big roaster of characters is back as well even though it’s a bit of life as for example, Son Goku just normal and then Super Sayian 4 is considered as different characters or Freeza final Form and Golden Form also. But still you will have the pleasure to play with Dragon Ball GT characters, OAV, movies like BrolyCooler or Metal CoolerSlug and many more.

But the what’s more is  most of roster will be coming from the new Dragon Ball Super as Goku Black ( let’s keep it Japanese here ), Future TrunkHit but most of them will be available as DLC as Kabba and the doppelganger of Freezer from universe 6.

In general, after playing beta, if Bandai Namco sort out this little glitches here and there for the online battles and also online quest, I can assure you that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be the games Dragon Ball game ever created. I still got too much love though for Dragon Ball Final Bout on Playstation 1…

The release date in USA is the Tuesday 25th of October and in Europe the Friday 28th of October on Playstation 4, Xbox one and PC. Unfortunately I live in Europe so I will have to wait until Friday….

Five Dream Games For The Nintendo Switch

nintendoswitch_hardware-0-0

Previously on Skatronixxx, StarkWyvernGaming revealed that Nintendo have announced a new console – the Nintendo Switch – so I decided to compose a list of the five games I would most like to see announced for the system.

LEGO Doctor Who: The Brick of Time

f19c041d034601cb56bec41009159356

To long-term Skatronixxx readers, this idea may seem familiar. Well, that’s because I previously discussed it in my very first article for the site:  The Perfect LEGO Doctor Who VideogameDoctor Who is a show where its titular character The Doctor uses means other than violence to save the day and whilst there is an element of fighting, the LEGO videogames are known for placing more emphasis on the puzzle-solving mechanics, making Doctor Who and LEGO a perfect combination. We’ve already seen what the team at Traveller’s Tales can do with the Doctor Who franchise through LEGO Dimensions; as diehard fans of the show, the level pack The Dalek Extermination of Earth featured a number of references to the show’s 53 year history including the third Doctor’s car Bessie and the K-1 Robot from Tom Baker’s debut serial Robot. A full LEGO Doctor Who videogame would allow them to expand on that and create the ultimate fan letter to everybody’s favourite show about a time-travelling police box.

Mario & Sonic At The Green Hill Zone

large

Mario and Sonic have been competing together in the Olympic Games since 2008, but what people really want to see is the pair appear in the same platforming adventure. There is a huge amount of potential in Mario and Sonic crossing over in their platform games: who wouldn’t want to see Mario running around the Green Hill Zone, for instance? Or Sonic hitting question mark boxes in the Mushroom Kingdom? The two uniquely different gameplay styles between Mario and Sonic games could also allow for great variety in the gameplay mechanics: going from a level set in the Mario universe with more focus on jumping to a speedy Sonic level would help the game to feel fresh in-between levels. Simply put: a Mario and Sonic platformer would have the potential to be the new Super Mario Galaxy.

Professor Layton v Lady Layton: Dawn of Puzzles

ladylayton_featureI’ve always wanted to see a home console Professor Layton. The game’s developers Level 5 recently announced a new spinoff series called Lady Layton. So why not combine the two into a big crossover event? I know what you’re thinking: ‘But the Nintendo Switch doesn’t look to have a touchscreen’. Well, what if a console Layton had a fully-explorable hub world instead of an interactive map? As for the puzzles, just an interactive number pad for maths puzzles would do and an on-screen cursor for anything else. Given the huge success of the Layton series, it is a wonder there hasn’t been a home console Layton before. Well, let’s see the Nintendo Switch change that.

Mario Kart Switch

mario20kart20switch_2

The announcement trailer briefly featured a Mario Kart game but it is unclear whether or not it’s Mario Kart 8 displayed on the Switch’s monitor. Interestingly, however, the Mario Kart featured in the trailer seems to allow the player to hold onto more than one item (something that hasn’t been an option in previous Mario Kart titles); this would fit in extremely well with the console’s theme of literally switching things up.  The great thing about the Mario Kart series is how it continues to innovate; no Mario Kart game is quite alike and whilst some changes could be seen as gimmicky, they always help to breath new life into an old videogame series. It is arguably Nintendo’s most entertaining IP and a series that shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The Simpsons: Hit & Run 2

simpsons2012-09-0804-38-08-23

The Simpsons: Hit & Run is arguably the best Simpsons game of all time…yet it has never received a sequel. My hope therefore is that the Nintendo Switch sees a Simpsons: Hit & Run 2 released for the system. Hit & Run was a hugely addictive game but one of the (admittedly few) disappointments with it is the limited number of playable characters. In the first game, only Homer, Bart, Lisa and Apu were playable.

That’s right: you couldn’t even play as Marge. In a sequel, I would like to be able to play as Marge, Krusty and Abraham Simpson alongside the first game’s characters; it would also be nice if a feature similar to the LEGO games was introduced, where you can play as characters different to the character you originally completed the level as. For example, in level 1 you may be originally playing as Homer but if you return to it after completing all the missions you can be Otto instead.

Also: get rid of the ‘skip mission’ option. Encouraging people to cheat is wrong.

Do you agree with my list? What games would you like to see released for the Switch? Let me know in the comments below.

Red Dead Redemption teaser trailer!

Can I just say this was beautifully done. The graphics are amazing; the details in each scene are perfect. It just sucks you in really. From the opening scenes where its all serene and peaceful with sunrises, fields and the details of the mountains to the buffalo’s running in the range next to the train passing by, absolutely stunning. This game will be very visually stimulating for sure. Can’t wait for it to come out!! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did. ^_^

Nintendo Switches things up with their new console

It is finally here, the moment many have been waiting for. I honestly had no idea what to expect tuning into this first reveal trailer.

Suddenly Link is on the screen, a man playing Breath of the Wild, he soon disconnects from his system and connects the controller to the gamepad. Then he is outside playing.

I am blown away by the coolness of this system. You can actually play it anywhere and it can instantly be mobile or stay at home.

The music in this trailer was amazing and I really enjoyed the energy it gave me. There were times when I couldn’t help jam out a little.

The games lineup also got me pumped from Zelda, to Mario, to Splatwoon, even Skyrim made an appearance.

It looks like anything goes with this system and I really wonder what other games could come out. So excited for 5 months to fly by so I can get my hands on this system. Really just so excited now.

Good job Nintendo, you blew me away. The Nintendo Switch comes out in March 2017, so mark your calendars now!

It’s time for the NeXt generation of Nintendo gaming!

It has been announced that the NX will be shown off in a threw minute preview tomorrow at 10 am eastern time.

The NX has been something people have been clamoring for since it was announced.

With a three minute trailer we could see who knows what and I am beyond excited. I am so ready to see what Nintendo has in store for us.

So get excited because tomorrow morning we will have into the future and see what Nintendo has had under wraps for so long.

Persona 5’s English Voice Cast has been announced!

The Persona series is known for picking amazing voice actors when it comes to the English dub of the game. I am super excited that they have finally revealed who is playing who in this new game coming out on Valentine’s Day of 2017. Suffice it to say, my Valentine’s day plans are set.

The cast seems like another good one, with many talented people voicing the characters that players will get to know over the course of this game. Based on what I’ve seen and what I’ve heard of the game, this is going to be a good one.

Xander Mobus voices the protagonist who you can name to your liking. Humorously enough due to his look some Japanese people have been calling him Potter.

Cassandra Morris is portraying Morgana the feisty cat thief.

Max Mittelman has been cast Ryuji Sakamoto who is the Protagonist’s best friend and clearly a goofy guy.

Erika Harlacher is Ann Takamaki who is one of the main trio alongside Ryuji and the Protagonist.

Matt Mercer is playing Yusuke Kitagawa a snobby looking young man who clearly is strong.

Cherami Leigh as Makoto Niijima a young woman with a penchance for civil justice who rides a motorcycle.

Erica Lindbeck as Futaba a girl who enjoys staying in rather then being out and about. Her hacking skills are great and she acts as a helper in the dungeons much like Rise before her.

SakuraXanthe Huynh as Haru Okumura, a youn woman who dons a cavalier style outfit and wields a sword. It seems she is also partners with Morgana though only time will tell.

Robbie Daymond as Goro Akechi the last revealed member of the group and a detective, how will he play in this game where all of the character are criminals.

Based solely on this list of talent, I am even more ready to delve into this game when the US gets its hands on it come February 14th. From now and the game’s release they will also release trailers about each of the characters starting of course with the protagonist.

The Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo is all a demo should be!

The Pokemon Sun and Moon demo has been out since early this morning and after playing it I am even more ready to play the game when it comes out next month. This game really looks like it will be definitive Pokemon Game at least until the next generation comes and hopefully blows it out of the water.

This demo is short but sweet and that is okay with me. It really is just there to give you a taste for the Alola region and to collect a few goodies and Ash’s Greninja to transfer over to the game when it comes out.

Beginning at your house, you find a letter in your mailbox which has no name, but includes a certain Pokemon. This Pokemon will be your partner for this demo and I think that is pretty cool. It isn’t often that Pokemon from the anime come into the games.

You soon meet Hau who will ultimately be one of your rivals. Right after you meet him you are thrust into battle with two goons from Team Skull and once you dispatch them you are on your way. Soon enough you meet the Professor of this region Professor Kukui. He soon tasks you with completing a trial and gives you your Poke-finder and lets you borrow his Pikachu.

You must take pictures of two Jangmo-o and two Hakamo-o, and battle them. The final pokemon is a special case as it is a totem Pokemon which will play a big part in the game’s full story. After you defeat this Pokemon you meet and defeat Team Skull’s admin Plumeria using Pikachu’s Z Move if you wish.

That seems to be the end of the demo, but once you turn it on again, you can ride a Tauros, complete a catching competition, and battle more trainers. There are also special events which will activate in a set amount of days, always bringing you back into this demo.

I think that this demo is certainly worth trying out if you are on the fence about this game. This demo is actually pretty deep for what its worth. You could probably play for hours if you wanted to, and it would still be fun. All I know is, when Pokemon Sun and Moon come out I will be playing just about non-stop.
