Stu’s Track Of The Week 01/06/16

So it’s time again for my track of the week and this weeks selection comes in the form of Greenday’s – Longview. Once again the song hits the spot for me due to the bass line written by Mike Drint Whilst high on LSD this confirmed by the bassist himself and singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong during an interview.
The song was the forth track on the album title Dookie and the song describes intense boredom, lyrically the song is about a day of sitting around the house doing absolutely nothing, masturbating and smoking weed until it is no longer fun. The song was name after the city Longview in Washington where it was first preformed in 1992. The band had already written the song before arriving in the city.
Here are some quotes from the band on the concept for the song
“It’s about boredom, and smoking dope.” – Billie Joe Armstrong[8]
“I guess it was just living in the suburbs in a sort of shit town where you can’t even pull in a good radio station. I was living in Rodeo, California, about 20 minutes outside of Oakland. There was nothing to do there, and it was a real boring place.” – Billie Joe Armstrong in an interview in Guitar Legends magazine, May 2005.
“When Billie gave me a shuffle beat for Longview, I was frying on acid so hard. I was laying up against the wall with my bass lying on my lap. It just came to me. I said, “Billie, check this out. Isn’t this the wackiest thing you’ve ever heard?” Later, it took me a long time to be able to play it, but it made sense when I was on drugs.” – Mike Dirnt in Rolling Stone magazine, 1995.
So that’s it from me I hope you all enjoy this weeks selection and I’ll see you all again next week for my next installment. As always stick with @Deadpool_1984 for all your alternative music needs.
Presh’s Playlist

With so much new music coming out regularly, I thought that perhaps you guys would like to know what new and old songs I have on my playlist and include the video clip of the songs that make the cut for my playlist. So is your playlist lacking ? Well never fear I have for you a bundle of music joy that needs to be in your playlist. It’s quite a mix but I’m sure you will agree, that they are all worthy of your playlist.
Jennifer Lopez – “I Ain’t Your Mama”
Now this is definitely a song that needs to make your playlist list, the video clip is worth watching too!!
DNCE – “Toothbrush”
“Cake By The Ocean” has been doing well on the charts and now DNCE have released a new song and I think its going to do just as well on the charts.
Blink 182 – “Bored to Death”
The boys are back! But without original member Tom DeLonge, in my opinion they are better than ever, I have missed that distinct sound and happy the punk rockers are back.
Pitbull Feat. Enrique Iglesias – “Messin’ Around”
These two have created something a little special, pitbull knows how to get that party started and this time he has brought Enrique for the ride. Definitely deserves a spot in your playlist.
Calvin Harris Feat. Rihanna – “This Is What You Came Here For”
A heavenly collaboration for your ears, it’s a must on your playlist
Sigala – “Give Me Your Love”
Great beat, great vocals what more could you want from a song. This is another must for your playlist
Twenty One Pilots – “Ride”
I love these guys, they have a uniqueness about them and every song draws me in and I love it instantly. It’s not a playlist unless you have Twenty One Pilots in there!
Justin Timberlake – “Can’t Stop This Feeling”
Everytime this song comes on my body just wants to move, also manages to make you feel good. Lets face it, if a song makes you want to move and feel good then its something special and this song my friends is something very special.
Meghan Trainor – “Me Too”
If this song doesn’t at lest get your foot tapping then there is something seriously wrong, this woman is insanely talented I am in ore and the fact that Meghan Trainor is inspired by the retro Rock’n’Roll music of 50’s and 60’s makes her a girl after my own heart. Keep it coming M-Train
Adele – “Send My Love (To Your New Lover”)
Now my playlist wouldn’t be complete without the ever-so talented genius that is Adele. Every single song bring me to goosebumps and depending on the song a few tears – obviously related to parts of my life, I don’t tear up for much but Adele has away of dragging them out.
Fifth Harmony Feat. Ty Dolla $ign – “Work From Home”
Ok so apart from Taytay these girls are my other dirty little secret, gorgeous girls on a work site and a great beat, don’t judge me you know you like the song too 😉
Dua Lipa – “Be The One”
Love this song would be a great addition to any playlist, definitely one artist to watch the girls got talent.
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts – Crimson & Clover
Most of you most likely don’t know this song so do yourself a favor and Google this kick ass band. Your playlist doesn’t feature at lest one song from when music was just pure rock’n’roll then it aint a playlist.
Elvis Presley – “Suspicious Minds”
The last song on my playlist, why? Well I have been a huge Elvis fan all my life and I am luck enough to be born on The Kings birthday (8th January) He was The King for a reason, that handsome man could sing!
So there you have it, my May playlist in all it’s glory. Who will make the cut for next months playlist? Or do you have a song for me to add? Enjoy this little bundle of joy that is May’s playlist my friends.

🎼The Rolling Stones played two semi-acoustic concerts at the Paradiso Amsterdam over two days. Keith Richards later said that the Paradiso concerts were the best live shows the Stones ever did. The venue is housed in a converted former church building that dates from the nineteenth century, subsequently squatted in 1967 by hippies who wanted to convert the church into an entertainment club. Artists who have recorded concerts at the Paradiso include Joy Division, Willie Nelson, Phish, Nirvana, The Cure, Lenny Kravitz, Nick Cave, Dave Mathews and Amy Winehouse.

Already becoming a hit in the US, the show focused on the madman and his family (his wife Sharon, and two of their three children). Oblivious to the camera, they bicker, squabble, curse and hang out backstage at Ozzy’s shows.
2009
🎼A US judge ended a bitter two-year battle over the late soul singer James Brown’s estate. Judge Jack Early ruled half of his assets will go to a charitable trust, a quarter to his wife and young son, and the rest to his six adult children. Well not a lot of movement up this week across the charts most of the movement was down but Drake still reins No. 1 on both the ARIA and Official UK Charts and has slipped back to 2nd on the Billboard chart. Quite a few new song have also entered across the charts. So that a wrap from me for this week, be sure to check back that same time next week.
2016 Billboard Music Awards
It’s that time of the year again folks when the music world gather to celebrate their peers, in favor of full disclosure I am 35 and grumpy so it is abundantly clear to me that these awards target audience are the pre teen and tween given a few of the winner’s, for example One Direction won over The Rolling Stones, U2, Maroon 5 and Twenty One Pilots?
So this year’s hosts were Ludacris and Ciara the pair did a great job and who better to kick this year’s awards off then Britney Spears, she did a medley of songs including “I Love Rock’n’Roll” and my favorite part of all was Britney riding the mechanical guitar, I must confess I do love me a bit of Britney and she nailed it.
This years other performer’s included:
Fifth Harmony performed “Work From Home” one of my favorite songs…. Ok and one of my very favorite video clips.. Hot!!

P!nk debut her latest single “Just Like Fire” for the new Alice in Wonderland film and she never disappoints, everything P!nk does is always a visual feast for your eyes

Celine Dion performed “The Show Must Go On” and what a performance it was, the woman is absolutely amazing.

Meghan Trainor preformed “No” and nailed it but that dress didn’t do her justice

Justin Bieber also preformed “Company” & “Sorry” but i have to be blatantly honest I fast forwarded his performance he is a talentless git with a bad attitude.
Lukas Graham performed “7 Years”
DNCE rocked the stage with “Cake By The Ocean” these guys are like this generations No Doubt they did an awesome job.

Demi Lovato performed “Cool For The Summer”

Nick Jonas and Tove Lo did a duet on “Close”.
Shanw Mendes performed “Stitchers”.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed “Go Ahead and Break my Heart”.

Kesha got the green light to perform and absolutely knocked her cover of Bob Dylan’s “It Aint Me Babe” out of the park and got a well deserved standing ovation.

Rihanna astounded the audience with “Love on the Brain”
Our own Troye Sivan performed “Youth”
Ariana Grande performed “Dangerous Woman” and ‘Into You’
The Go-Go’s performed “We Got The Beat” and let me tell you the girls have still got it!

Madonna and Stevie Wonder performed a very moving tribute to the late great Prince, Madonna performed ‘Nothing Compares To You’ and I thought she did it justice then her and Stevie Wonder performed ‘Purple Rain’ together and again i thought they both did a cracking job.

Ok so let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of the awards and who won them
