Whilst a sequel to the 2016 Ghostbusters may seem unlikely due to the widely reported $70m loss, plans for the Ghostbusters universe as a whole are still going ahead Sony have revealed.
A Sony representative recently offered a statement to the movie news magazine The Hollywood Reporter, where he claimed ‘We’re very proud of the bold movie Paul Feig made, which critics and audiences loved. It has enlivened a 30-year-old brand and put it into the modern zeitgeist. As a result, we have many ideas in the works to further exploit the Ghostbusters universe,’.
Ghostbusters cartoon Ecto-Force is set to debut on television in 2018 with an animated feature film following in 2019, although whether Sony have other plans in place is unclear. It’s worth noting that former Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman’s production company Ghost Corps was set up with the intention of finding ways to expand the Ghostbusters universe, so Sony are clearly dedicated towards making it their flagship franchise.
Ghostbusters has currently earned nearly $181 million globally, against some strong competition such as Suicide Squad and The Sexeet Life of Pets/. Paul Feig stated before Ghostbusters’ release that the film would have to make $300m to break even.
Whilst the female Ghostbusters may have failed to bust Harley Quinn and company at the box office, they have at least managed to ressurect a dormant franchise. Let’s hope Sony don’t have a Walter Peck equivalent trying to shut the business down.

When last we saw Elena Gilbert she was doing a Rip Van Winkle while her BFF Bonnie lived her life, but now with the 8th and final season of The Vampire Diaries looming on the horizon, she may be waking up. Nina Dobrev is currently in talks with The Suits at The CW discussing a possible return of everyone’s favorite human – turned vampire – turned human.
Rumors abound on the net about just how this return might be done. Will Nina be playing Elena… or Katherine? Or will she be the Big Bad for this final season of the show? And, if it’s Elena climbing out of that coffin, what will it mean for Bonnie (Kat Graham)?
I love Bonnie Badass! She’s my favorite female character on the show. Always has been. Go ahead and throw those stones if ya want, but I was never a big fan of Elena’s. I like to see strong female characters and Elena always needed rescuing. I like to see those self-saving princesses, thank you very much. Those are the heroines that I can relate to… since I am one. So, I’m hoping that if it’s Elena waking up, it doesn’t mean that Bonnie has to die to accomplish it.
Since leaving the show at the end of SN6, Dobrev has moved successfully to the big screen. Two movies are currently in post production…. Crash Pad and the new Vin Diesel movie, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, and she’s currently filming the remake of the 1990 movie Flatliners. So, the question might be… Does she have time to come back to the show that made her famous?
Would you like to see Dobrev return to the show? If so, how would you like it to happen? Should she be Elena, Katherine, or the Big Bad? And, how would you like to see the show end? Tell us in the comments below.
So far, Marvel have announced two villains who’ll be joining Spider-Man: Homecoming – The Vulture and The Tinkerer.

However, the movie has been full of rumours that there will be more villains, and the latest rumour says that Shocker will be the latest villain joining the lineup. Not only that but Heroic Hollywood have speculated that Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo, Ray, Total Recall) will be playing the villain. This fits in with the rumours surrounding his casting announcement that he would indeed be playing a villain role.

If Shocker were to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming, he would definitely be a secondary villain – in the original comics, he’s only in his line of work for the money, and doesn’t seem to have a genuine interest in destroying Spider-Man or taking over the world. His appearance may be brief, but Woodbine certainly has the talent to bring depth and interest to this character.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into cinema’s July 7th 2017.
Atlanta Filming decided to treat Spidey fans with a couple of close-up shots of the arachnic-kid’s web shooters from the Spider-Man: Homecoming set.

As revealed in Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man was definitely working with mechanical web-shooters and synthetic webbing for this latest iteration. Whilst fans have always had a solid case for either mechanical webbing or synthetic, synthetic gives Peter Parker limitations, in that he can run out of webbing.

The web shooters this time around have a more slick design, with a black, thin material wrapping around his wrists. They seem much more aerodynamic and less clunky.

You’ll be able to catch Spider-Man: Homecoming on the 7th July 2017.

Ocean’s Eight, a spinoff of the 2001 Ocean’s Eleven which in turn was a remake of the 1960’s feature with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, has turned the tables with an astounding cast of ladies! With some of the most famous actresses in Hollywood like Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, and Cate Blanchett in the leading roles, it will be a spectacular site to include Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter and rapper Awkwafina who are close to closing their deals. There is no word on who the eighth member of this crew will be. Hmm…
This franchise series that includes three featured films included stars like George Clooney and Brad Pitt executing some of the greatest robbery heists from Las Vegas to Europe! These films also brought in the money into the box offices to boast over $1.1billion worldwide. As a huge Ocean’s series fan, I am anxious to see how the new crew, of just ladies, get the job done!
The film is set to begin production in October in New York. No release date has been announced. Ohhhh…I’m so anxious! I’m MALIA MERCEDES blogging for skatronixxx.com You can also catch me at maliamercedes.com where I’m always boasting my loyalty with “Loyal Bloodline”.

Since the day Grant Gustin (Glee) was announced as Barry Allen on The Flash people hoped he would be singing a bit on the show. We got a little tease of his amazing singing voice when his character Barry Allen is in karaoke bar with Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).
Just as Grant Gustin Melissa Benoist is a Glee Alumni. So the fire for a sing-off was lighted even higher when Melissa Benoist was announced as Kara Zor-El on Supergirl and went sky-high when a crossover was announced between The Flash and Supergirl. Now that Supergirl is at the CW crossovers are easier (no negotiations between networks) and new crossovers will happen this season between The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. The shows have hinted they wanted to do something musical as they have so many musically gifted people working on them (John Barrowman, Victor Garber, Jesse L. Martin and Jeremy Jordan). And they would have regretted it not having done something about it, so they have been plotting a musical crossover. Some of this talent has allready been demonstrated on The Flash. (Damn what a voice.)
Arrow fans should not hold their breath because Stephen Amell, the lead of Arrow, doesn’t like this idea for his show. So for now that is a no-go. But never say never.
As for Supergirl and The Flash a musical crossover is now a fact, it has been confirmed by producers and actors. This musical crossover will happen around episode 13 or 14 in the season from what I have gathered. It just leave me to wonder which numbers they would use. They have hinted they would use existing songs but they hope to have one or two original songs.
There are so many existing songs to choose from that both hint to the Flash and Supergirl’s speed, but I am drawing a complete blank. (Which is weird for a music aficionado like me.) So hit me up with your suggestions what would make the ultimate crossover song for you.
