A statement has been released from ABC Studios and CBS Television that actor Thomas Gibson has been fired from the hit show Criminal Minds following an on set altercation that according to some sources happened two weeks ago. Thomas Gibson issued his own statement following his termination from the series expressing his gratitude towards the show, cast and crew and the fans.
Following an altercation on set, as reported by TMZ, actor Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds, Dharma & Greg) will be suspended for two episodes from the hit CBS show Criminal Minds. His character, Aaron Hotchner, will be written out of the two episodes in the upcoming 12th season that’s currently shooting. The altercation stemmed from an argument Thomas Gibson had while directing one of the episodes with one of the episodes writers who was on set. Thomas Gibson has directed six episodes of Criminal Minds from season 8 to season 11 but after this altercation he has been pulled from directing duties on the episode he was working on and looks to be done directing any future episodes for the rest of the season. He is under contract for the season currently in production but no word yet from the studio on what the future will hold for Thomas Gibson and the series he’s been with since its debut in 2005.
