An Interview With 2 Lava 2 Lantula Actor Delpaneaux Willis

It’s time for another long awaited interview on Skatronixxx.com and boy have we secured a good one. This time we are proud to announce an interview star of 2 Lava 2 Lantula and many other films Delpaneaux Willis!

Delpaneaux Willis is an up and coming actor who already has a cult following from his string of highly succesful movies and tv shows, not only that he’s an awesome guy and another one of the talented individuals I’m proud to call a member of the SkatFamily.

That’s enough from me, let’s find out some more about Delpaneaux Willis.

1) How did you get into acting?

I was first introduced to acting by my father, who was a local theatre actor. Years later, I saw a play while attending Whittier College and got involved in theatre there. I did not choose to make acting my career until much later.

2) You were born and raised in Sierra Leone before moving to America as a teenager, how much of a transition was this?

Little correction, I was born in Omaha, Nebraska. I was raised in Sierra Leone, West Coast Africa, from age 5 to 14. It was not that much of a transition, because I kept in touch with family members in the States. I attended an English speaking school and I also watched a lot of American films.

3) I read online that you had a keen interest in medicine and football; do you think you would have pursued a career in either if you had not chosen acting?

I tried my hand at both football and medicine. Due to a lot of injuries my football career was cut short. When it comes to medicine and science, I have been fascinated with both since I was a little child. So, in college I got a science degree, because I thought, I was going to be a doctor. After graduating with my science degree, I got a lot of odd jobs in medicine and science, but I was never happy with any of the jobs. So, I don’t think I could have pursued anything but acting.

4) If you could be in one existing film, what film and character would you choose and why?

I would have loved to be in LORD OF THE RINGS as the character Legolas. The main actors that were in LORD OF THE RINGS were together for a 1-year and a half filming the trilogy. As an actor, it would have been a joy to be entrenched as one character for that long. You really get to be become that role and you also forge a bond between the other actors. Sort of like a family

5) You are going to star in the sequel to highly successful movie Lavalantula, can you tell us more about your role in the film and your thoughts on the original and sequel? Could we even see a third?

I play the role of Detective O’leary in the new SyFy film 2lava2lantula. Now in the first film Lavalantula, Steve Gutenberg is a B-rated action star named Colton West. So, in 2lava2lantula, I am an actor in one of his B-rated action films playing a detective. So, I am an actor, playing an actor, playing a detective. Since, the first film Lavalantula was a hit there will most likely be a third instalment, because 2lava2lantula is even bigger and better. Everyone is going to love it.

6) You are a very versatile actor having portrayed horror and sci-fi roles as well as parts of soap operas and voicing videos, do you think as an actor it’s important to broaden your horizons?

Yes, I think it is very important to broaden your horizons. It is the only way you get to be a better actor, by learning new things. You also learn more about yourself, what you can do, and how to push yourself to be a better actor with a greater range.

7) If you had a choice to choose between television, film, and the theatre what would you choose and why?

I would choose theatre, because I love it. It makes you a better actor as you have to be on point all of the time. There is no room for mistakes.

8) You played African track star Senca Keflezi in film ‘Chasing A Dream’, could you tell us a little bit about this film?

CHASING A DREAM was a Hallmark Original film. I play the role Seneca Keflezi, a world class High School runner from Kenya. When the best friend of CAM STILES played by ANDREW LAWRENCE is killed in a car accident while running home from a party, high school football star CAM STILES suffers a nervous breakdown from the guilt and pain. It also tears apart his relationship with his father, GARY STILES, who also happens to be his football coach. When Cam decides to quit football and join the track team to honor his friend, his former teammates turn against him, too. Eventually, Cam has to try and beat me to get the record of a sub-four mile and honor his dead friend.

9) What can we expect to see from you in the remaining months of 2016 and into 2017?

In 2016, besides 2lava2lantula, I will be in an upcoming episode of “GAME SHAKERS” on NICKELODEON, the films HALLOWEED, RYDE, SHOVELBUDDIES, DEAD MAN RISING, and WATCH THE SKY. In 2017, you can look for me in films like FREEDOM H.U.D, by director Nick Delgado.

10) Do you have any advice for any people who want to break into acting?

My advice to anyone that is serious about getting into acting is to enrol in a good theatre program and study the craft.

Mark Ruffalo Finishes Shooting Thor:Ragnarok And Shares Set Pictures

So Mark Ruffalo has confirmed via his Instagram account that he is already done shooting his part for Thor:Ragnarok and he even treated us to some on set images to keep the appetite going for what has been touted as the biggest Thor movie yet and by some possibly the biggest film in Marvel history to date.

We also get to see Thor (Chris Hemsworth) with his new short hairstyle in the next image taking some time out from filming to spend some time with Ruffalo in what looks like the make-up trailer.

We then get a better look at the new hair style with Hemsworth having a chat with what I’m guessing is his stunt double judging by the similar look to pair have.

The next image we get is of Ruffalo clashing heads with the mighty Hulk the only reason I can think that Ruffalo would be done shooting his parts already would be due to the movie containing more Hulk than Banner.

The final image we are treated to is of Ruffalo having some fun whilst wearing a Kimono and a face mask and a motion capture suit which will be used as a reference post production to replace Ruffalo with a fully rendered Hulk.

We know the movie is set to be an intergalactic buddy road movie with Thor and The Hulk traveling through the nine realms to try and stop Ragnarok (The Norse Apocalypse). So this also makes me think how can he really be done filming all his parts? So maybe he has just finished filming his parts in Australia as we know this is where the sets for Asgard are being made only time will tell.

What I do know is the more I see and hear about this film the more excited I get as it looks to be shaping up to be an absolute winner.

The Secret Life Of Pets Secures A Sequel!

If you are an animal lover and have not made it to the theater to see The Secret Life of Pets, you must! Pet owners know what it’s like to come home and find cabinets broken into, poop in the weird places, and appliances running for no apparent reason.

Here is your chance to glance at the life of your pet through their eyes! As this group travel their way throughout the city on their adventure, I am positive the only thing you’ll be able to do is smile!

Especially, when they enter the tunnels of the city’s underbelly and you eaves drop on the conversation between two pets and hear:

Pet One: “Ewwww, What is that smell?”

Pet Two: “That’s poo poo with a little bit of kaka”

 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I could not help myself but laugh so hard that I almost choked on the popcorn I was eating!

Now, with just two consecutive weeks of holding the number 1 spot in the US box office and the number 1 spot for best opening of an original film, The Secret Life of Pets has grossed more than $300 million and has secured a sequel. This film has generated $103.5 million internationally in 18 markets thus far and opening at no. 1. China just released it yesterday and 48 more territories are expected to open in the next few weeks.

Although, nothing has been said about who the cast of voice talent will be the next time around, we could probably bet that comedy superstars Louis C.K., Kevin Hart, and Jenny Slate will be back!

The confirmed date for the release of The Secret Life of Pets 2” is July 13, 2018, just 11 months away! You can bet, I’ll be giving you the review once it hits the theatre! Daredevil SN1 EP11 – ‘The Path Of The Righteous’

Both IMDB and Netflix describe this episode as “Matt and Fisk facing the consequences of their chosen paths.” This is technically accurate, but there is so much more to it. After Vanessa was accidentally poisoned at the end of the previous episode, Fisk is in panic mode. As that vague synopsis implies, Fisk is facing the reality that his actions are affecting the one person he truly does care about. We’ve seen faces of Fisk’s personality before, but the gloves are off – we know how violent, merciless and gruesome this man can be. So it is a unique contrast to see this monster of man being so vulnerable – especially since the show succeeds in making Fisk seem sympathetic. This also builds suspense as we know how volatile this man can be so if something happens to Vanessa, Fisk can blow.

After being patched by Claire – who is back after being MIA for what feels like too long – Matt is back in action. He has some talk with his Pastor, which fleshes out his character. It’s a unique contrast – Matt has learned his physical limits, but has to confront his moral limits in pursuing Kingpin. While his MO isn’t entirely different, this time his friends have seen his scars and Matt is haunted by memories of his battle. There are some exciting action scenes as Matt’s MO is a little more clearly defined – acquire the same type of body armor Fisk protects himself with.

Karen and Ben are on the trail of Fisk as well. However, this is dialed up several notches. Despite being on the trail of Fisk as well, Karen has felt like an afterthought for much of this season. She is captured by one of Fisk’s men. There’s a tense scene where Kingpin’s man threatens to hunt down Karen ever cared about if she doesn’t convince Ben that Fisk is safe – this is tense because we know by now, this is not an idle threat. Without giving anything away, Karen’s actions show there’s more to her than just a damsel in distress, but will also put her in real danger. In conclusion, this episode is another winner – lots of great action, and every character has a few more dimensions to their personalities.

Shemar Moore To Return To Criminal Minds?

Many Criminal Minds fans were heartbroken when they found out Shemar Moore was leaving the show. I know I was. Our beloved Derek Morgan was leaving the BAU. No more playful banter with Penolope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and no more shirtless Derek.

Those are not the only reasons I shall miss Derek as a member of the BAU. He was a fun guy to have on the team. Especially his relationships with the other team members are golden. The storyline for his departure was awesome and did Derek justice in my opinion. But it was difficult to watch at times for so many reasons. I might have shed a tear during the final episodes with Shemar Moore.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Shemar Moore is willing to do quest appearances on Criminal Minds. Whenever Shemar Moore might return to Criminal Minds he will be welcomed back by so many people. And I for one would like to see where his character Derek is at that time in his life. That guest appearance can’t happen soon enough for me, but I also know that it takes time. He probably won’t be back this season. So I will wait impatiently upon the return of Derek Morgan to hopefully aid the BAU in solving crimes and catching unsubs.

Beverly Hills 90210, Old Residents Reunited?

Lately I have heard about so many reboots and remakes of classic movies and series that you almost can wait for your favourite movie or show to be picked as a reboot or remake.

On that note; Will one of Los Angeles most famous zip codes be occupied again? According to Ian Ziering (Sharknado) Hulu is interested in rebooting the 90’s show Beverly Hills 90210 with the original cast members. Beverly Hills 90210 was for many a springboard in the acting world; Shannon Doherty (Charmed) and Brian Austin Green (Anger Management, Desperate Housewives)

Ian Ziering for one would like the reboot to happen. He would love to work with his friends again, who have become family after a decade working with each other.

If this reboot were to happen, nothing is certain yet just informative talks by Hulu, I would definitely watch the show just to see where all my favourite characters ended up. Some of the original cast made appearances in the spin-off 90210. So we know from Kelly Taylor (Jenny Garth) and Brenda Walsh (Shannon Doherty) how their lives have evolved. But the lives of the rest of the gang is yet unknown to us, although we all have our thoughts about how they ended up and with who.

Back in the day I was a major fan of Beverly Hills 90210. So yes I am a bit excited and worried about this potential reboot. Can they do the show justice? I am not the only one with that concern some actors are worried about this reboot as well. Jason Priestly, who played Brandon Walsh on the show, is not that keen on playing his character again at the age of 46. I for one would say it would be a loss if he doesn’t participate. But who am I, just a fangirl with an opinion.

So we shall see if Beverly Hills 90210 is going to be occupied again by its original residents.

Vin Diesel Not Driving The Jet Turbo car!

Fast 8 the newest film of the Fast and the Furious series is currently being filmed and boasting a Dodge Charger with a Jet Engine!

You would definitely expect that the always daring Vin Diesel character Dominic Toretto would be chosen to be placed behind the wheel of such a powerful machine. Diesel has been behind the wheel of some of the most exotic vehicles built for speed in the previous seven action filled, testosterone driven Fast & the Furious features. You could only expect to find him driving the muscle car with a jet motor! However, Vin will not be driving the heavily modified Dodge charger with a jet engine!

You heard me right! The vehicle that he will be sporting in the movie may look like it has a jet turbine and sound like a jet turbine, but it is NOT a jet turbine. It is just for show guys! Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s all cosmetic. We are looking at a fabulously done prop! So although Dominic Toretto may be executing his next mission of speed and power as he navigates through the frozen Arctic with an unbelievable looking machine. It’s all just hype! Can you say, “Fake”!

If you’re anything like me and you can’t get enough of the star studded cast, unrealistic stunts, and the powerful rumbling sounds that come with a FF movie, we will just overlook that it’s all fantasy! Fast8 is expected to be out next summer.  Don’t worry I’ll remind you then as I’ll be standing alongside you waiting to get in!

Fan-Made Transformers Stop-Motion Video Is Better Than The Movie!!!

It’s pretty sad for Hollywood when there are fan-made YouTube vids out there that people find way better than the movie. But it’s true. This video is freaking AWESOME!!!

Whether you are new school or old school like this girl who grew up watching the 1986 version, you will totally appreciate the concept behind the Transformers masterpiece.

And isn’t it the dream of everyone who makes a YouTube video to be recognized? Well, this kid definitely got his wish. The video was well-recognized and got many shout outs claiming this video is better than the movie from Hollywood. Some even went on to say that the producer of Hollywood’s Transformers movie could learn a thing or two from this up-and-coming YouTube star. I am right there with them, this video is no less than fantastic. The voiceovers and animation are so wonderful! I can’t help but wonder – how was someone with limited resources able to make a video worthy of the big screen?

The Stop Motion animated video was created by Harris Loureiro last July 1^st, and it’s the Autobots up against the evil Decepticons. According to GMA network online, he started shooting this about September of last year and began editing by May, and that took him more than a month there. Apparently there would have been more awesome footage, but his computer crashed during some of his work. But nevertheless, this is still amazing even if we are missing some of his work.

So to all those who love Transformers like I do, (I still have my Soundwave from when I was a little girl) you should really check out this video. It’s soooooo AWESOME!!! ^_^

Storks Trailer released

Did you ever used to wonder where babies came from?  From the producers of LEGO Movie and Happy Feet comes a silly adventure about a little boy who wants a baby brother, and the stork who brings it to him.

Well actually, in the trailer, the storks don’t deliver babies anymore! (great, now what to I tell my kids when they ask “where do babies come from?!?”) *EEEEK*

So the storks are now in package delivery business like UPS, but one of the packages is a baby, and now a brave stork has to go against the company policy with the help of a young orphan girl to deliver this baby to the family who wants it.

This movie looks really fun and cute, will definitely have to take my little girl to see this (don’t think my son will be into this one) But check out the link below and tell me what you think. ^_^

The Great Wall Trailer Review a.k.a. Another White Male Saves China

The Great Wall American trailer came out recently to some controversy. It stars Matt Damon, Jing Tian, and popular Chinese singer and actor Luhan. It’s an action fantasy centered around The Great Wall and the evil that lurks beyond it – hint: the evil is a dragon that the main character needs to slay.

Which could be cool, considering that there is a cultural history of dragons within China’s mythology. There even seems to be a strong diverse female character played by Jing Tian.

I love the idea of a co-production between American and Chinese film companies, as well as a diverse, all-star cast to attract people from both sides of the aisle. The story seems entertaining and a possible metaphor for a Trump campaign – there’s an evil on the other side of the wall and the only person who can save the general populace is a white male despite the movie literally being set in China.

Ok, here goes:

This doesn’t seem to be raising much of a fuss on the Chinese side – but on the American side, where diversity in film has been an obvious, rampant problem that hides behind the idea of only white male stars attract moviegoers to spend cash, it’s another blow in a series of long-standing insults. Especially on the tailcoats of Matt Damon’s comments on his show Greenlight.

Another reason that this is so frustrating is because Matt Damon is such a great actor. When he made those comments on Greenlight, it broke my hopeful little heart.

But back to The Great Wall: would it have fucking killed this movie to cast a person of color as its main actor? The movie is going to make money regardless because it’s marketed towards American and Chinese markets. Literally any skin color besides white would’ve worked and made sense in whatever rural era of China this fantasy is set in.

A key factor missed in casting seems to be that NON-WHITE PEOPLE CAN BE HEROES TOO. Americans can empathize with people of color. This storyline is going to be more entertaining than deep, so why not take the chance and have America represented by someone other than Matt freakin’ Damon?

If Jing Tian is exoticized or overly-sexualized and ends up being Matt Damon’s love interest in a non-equal relationship that doesn’t make sense within the movie’s storyline I will actually lose my shit.

And no, it doesn’t make it ok that the director and other characters are Chinese, or that it’s backed by Chinese financiers. It is a film titled The Great Wall, which everyone comes out of the womb knowing is in China. Not a huge stretch of imagination to believe that the main character would be Chinese.

If diversity wasn’t the big deal it is within Hollywood, it wouldn’t matter that Matt Damon is the hero of this movie. But because lack of diversity is an issue, this missed opportunity for Hollywood is just another slap in the face for the minority community.

Get your shit together Hollywood and stop racial bias. Would love to see a non-white person in a main heroic role. Also, if this is just backlash from the trailer, I can’t wait to see what happens when the actual movie comes out.
