New Jason Bourne Clips And Behind The Scenes Footage Released

Jason-Bourne.jpg

It’s lit. Universal has released two awesome clips and some interesting behind the scenes footage.

In the first clip one of the film’s antagonists tries to persuade Bourne to work with him. “We should work together, Bourne,” the baddie says to Bourne who is looking down, with his focus on a computer screen. “You exposed the Blackbriar program. We’re both after the same thing, right? We both want to take down the corrupt institutions that control society.” Bourne tells him “I’m not on your side”. The baddie attacks Bourne, and as usual, Bourne kicks some butt.

When the Alpha and Bravo teams going after Bourne do not respond, CIA director Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones), tells Agent Heather( Alicia Vikander) in the second clip,  that he is taking charge of the operation and is giving Asset (Vincent Cassel) the greenlight to take down Bourne.

Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role in Jason Bourne. Paul Greengrass, the director of The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum, once again joins Damon for the next chapter of Universal Pictures’ Bournefranchise, which finds the CIA’s most lethal former operative drawn out of the shadows.

For Jason Bourne, Damon is joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones, while Julia Stiles reprises her role in the series. Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment, and Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce. Based on characters created by Robert Ludlum, the film is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse

Alden Ehrenreich Confirmed for Young Han Solo

Rogue One hasn’t even hit the big screens yet, but already Star War’s fans are eagerly awaiting the next prequel movie.

ResizedStarWarsLogo

The Star Wars prequel movie (believed to be called Han Solo: A Star Wars Story) already had a lot of buzz around it when it was announced that a young Han Solo would be in these movies. However, after supposedly considering over 2, 500 actors for the role, it’s been confirmed by Disney that the Han Solo mantle will be going to Alden Ehrenreich. (Hail, Caesar!, Beautiful Creatures, Blue Jasmine)

AldenEhrenreich

Alden won over directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord early on, rumours say, with claims he was one of the first of the huge line-up to audition for the role. He also screen-tested in the Millennium Falcon, and also with the biggest critic of them all about this decision – Chewbacca.

HanSolo

Filming begins in either January or February 2017 and is looking forward to a 2018 release. It will be the second released in a trilogy of standalone Star Wars films. The first, Rogue One, will be released in 2016, with plenty of behind-the-scenes goodies and news available to keep you busy.

Matt Damon Would Only Play A Superhero If Ben Affleck Directed Him

"The Martian" Press Conference

One of the most sought after actors in Hollywood had previously stated that he had no interest in playing a superhero. The only exception he’d make would be for Marvel’s Daredevil, but only if Christopher Nolan directed. But then, that was long before his longtime friend Ben Affleck entered the superhero industry, taking a prominent role in the DC Films Universe. Ben Affleck was cast as the Caped Crusader in 2013 prior to Batman V Superman. And It’s been recently confirmed that he is set to direct a future Batman film, which he is co-writing with Geoff Johns.

Damon has proven himself to be an action star of high caliber, starring as Jason Bourne in the Universal Bourne franchise.

Speaking to the The Irish Examiner, “I’d consider anything with the right director, but I can’t imagine there are any superheroes left, I think they’re all taken at this moment,” Damon said . “If [Ben] was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute. I’d love to work with Ben.”

Damon and Ben Affleck have worked in a number of projects together before. They wrote Good Will Hunting which earned them both an Academy Award . So it wouldn’t be surprising if Affleck found his friend a role in The Batman film.

Here’s to hoping that we see Damon in Affleck’s The Batman. The Batman is expected to land in theaters sometime in 2018 or mid 2019. Damon’s next film Jason Bourne arrives in theaters on July 29 2016.

Ghostbusters Take Over Waterloo

Who you gonna call? Because I don’t think TFL can help with this one…

Ooze

Commuters were absolutely delighted this week with a spooky take-over of Waterloo Station in London to celebrate the release of the new Ghostbusters in UK cinemas, created by a beautiful partnership between Sony Pictures UK and Forbidden Planet.

StayPuft

Waterloo Station was complete with slime oozing down the CCTV, big screens showing the news of supernatural activity within the city, and of course, a giant Stay Puft Marshmellow Man breaking his way through the floor.

Screens

On top of this ginormous and impressive display, complete with decorated barriers and massive posters, there is a pop-up shop in the heart of Waterloo Station, where you can pick up all kinds of goodies, including T-Shirts, Funko Figurines, and even Limited Edition Odeon tickets to the film.

PopUpShop

If you head underground via the peak-time link tunnel, you can also find the “Ghostbusters immersion zone”, featuring walls wrapped in New York vinyl and audio to complete the atmosphere.

If you ain’t afraid of no ghost, head to Waterloo quick, because the take over is going to be back under control by the 24th July.

Ghostbusters2016

Ghostbusters, directed by Paul Feig, and starring Kristen Wiig (The Martian, Bridesmaids, Zoolander 2), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Gilmore Girls)Kate McKinnon (The Big Gay Sketch Show, Ted 2, Finding Dory) and Leslie Jones (Something Like Business, Workaholics, Trainwreck)as the four leading roles, and Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Rush, In the Heart of the Sea) as receptionist Kevin, is now out in UK cinema’s nationwide. Our writer Sean Bassett had plenty of great things to say about it himself, so I’d trust his judgement and get on down to your local cinema ASAP.

Daredevil SN1 EP8 – ‘ Shadows in the Glass ‘

Wilson-Fisk-speech-Vanessa-Marianna

After a few high-octane, high-stakes episodes, Daredevil was due for a slower episode. It’s just good-storytelling. Pretending for a second Daredevil season 1 were a 13-hour action movie, people need a break from action. Even in movies like Die Hard and Speed, there are breaks in the action. This episode is largely an origin story for Wilson Fisk. Kingpin has proven to be such an engaging, dynamic character that he can carry an episode that’s a little lighter on action.

We learn about Fisk’s past in this episode. His father was a wannabe politician who was also abusive toward his son and his wife. The scenes of the abuse are uncomfortable, but in a way that works. After all, this is a touchy subject so if it were anything but uncomfortable, the people behind the scenes wouldn’t be doing their jobs. The scenes with the young Fisk are effective in explaining Fisk’s psychology. His dad was violent but had a unique honor system – he was running for mayor because he wanted to do what was right for the city, he wants his son to stand up for himself. However, he takes his ideals a little too far in the wrong direction. He even goes out of his way to rough up someone for bullying his son. And that is fascinating because that is the kind of man Wilson Fisk grew up to be. He wants to save Hell’s Kitchen, but he does so with violence. After all, the young Wilson had to overcome his father’s violence WITH violence.

The psychology in the episode is also fascinating because in most other media, someone who stood up to an abusive father and overcame them would be a hero. And that’s part of the brilliance – Fisk finally comes out to the open and presents himself as the hero. He presents himself as a hero who is trying to save the city from the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. We already know how dangerous and violent Kingpin is, but this adds an extra layer to the character – he does these things but now has the trust of the city. Vincent D’Onofrio’s acting is brilliant as he plays someone still coping with the mental scars of his past. Even though he is not the focus, Murcock/The Devil still has a role in this episode. His scenes are exciting, but Kingpin is the real star of this episode.

Overall, despite being a little slower and light on action, this is an engaging episode from a psychological perspective. We delve deeper into the biggest villain of the series, learn a little more about why he is the way he is and just how much power he has.

Pedro Pascal Reveals Harry Hart’s Return for “Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle”

TargonEgertonTwitter

Given the very very big hint posted on Taron Egerton‘s (Eddie the Eagle, Legend, The Smoke) Twitter back in April 2016, we’re not sure if we should really consider Pedro Pascal‘s (Game of Thrones, Narcos, Bloodsucking Bastards) latest Instragram post a spoiler.

PedroPascalInstagram

Hide behind Harry. #SafePlace #Kingsman2 #TheGoldenCircle

Regardless, Kingsman fans can now be delighted as the return of Harry Hart, played by Colin Firth (The Kings Speech, Love Actually, Kingsman: The Secret Service) to Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Firth’s character was originally murdered rather brutally on-screen by movie villain Valentine, played by Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction, Avengers: Assemble, The Hateful Eight) by being shot point blank in the head. Surely, a death no one can return from, right?

HarryHartShot

Apparently, wrong. Given Firth’s appearances on set, Taron’s tweet, and this final nail in the coffin (so to speak…) from Pascal, it looks like we will be seeing our most distinguished, sarcastic, dog-stuffing spy back on our screens for Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

KSS_JB_D27_02698.jpg

Kingsman: The Golden Circle will focus on an American version of the Kingsman agency, with several big names lined up for parts in the sequel to the surprise Box Office Hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service.

kingsman-recruits

The film is currently in production and on schedule for release on June 16th, 2017.
