Idris Elba ‘The Dark Tower’ Photos Leaked

As everybody knows, Stephen Kings Western Thriller ‘The Dark Tower’ is going to be filmed now and will hit theatres 17th February 2017. The Daily Mail has published some set photos of Idris Elba as the main character, a guns man as known as Roland Deschain.

Controversial discussions

The 43 years old British actor was controversial discussed as cast as the main character Roland Deschain. As every fan of the ‘The Dark Tower’ knows, Roland is described as an ugly, old and white guy. So it’s pretty surprising that Elba was casted as Deschain, but I think it’s a pretty good choice!

“For me, it just clicked. He’s such a formidable man.” – Nikolaj Arcel director about Elba

Elba who is known for his characters amongst others, like ‘Captain Janek’ in Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’, or his recent movie ‘The Jungle Book’ as the voice of ‘Shir Khan’, is a multilayer men who knows his stuff.

Nikolaj Arcel and Stephen King also confirmed Matthew McConaughey as Walter Padick (Man in Black) as Deschains antagonist. We can be curious how Elba and McConaughey will interact with each other during the movie.

First look at Roland Deschain

So let’s have a look at Elba as Roland Deschain.

idris-elba-as-roland-deschain

The Luther star looked pretty handsome in his costume. He wore a white shirt, waistcoat with a red scarf around his neck including dark jeans, leather boots and the important: the gun holsters. He pretty rocked the western style and covered everything you need as a hero.

What is ‘The Dark Tower’ about?

‘The Dark Tower’ is a western book series, which includes other genres like dark fantasy, science fantasy and horror too. The eight book series is written by American writer Stephen King which describes a guns man, who is on his quest towards the Dark Tower.

What does Stephen King say about the movie?

Stephen King said that fans can be disappointed about the movie adaption of ‘The Dark Tower’. There will be a lot of difference between the book and the adaption, just like the main character and the process of the plot. The movie will not begin linear to the books and will start in the middle of the plot. Maybe this choice of the beginning can be just an addition to the Franchise.

stephen-king-tweet

Perhaps Kings Tweet in May is a hint about the beginning of the Dark Tower adaption. Maybe Nikolaj Arcel starts the adaption, where King has ended in the book. It wouldn’t be a bad decision, because Kings Story is pretty complex and extensive, that it wouldn’t be an easy job to include everything that happened in the book.

So we’ll see what awaits us next.

Camp-WWE trips and steph

The first season of Camp WWE rolls on. Episodes four and five continue to show that the WWE Network can diversify beyond wrestling, reality shows and movies. It’s taken a couple of years, but the network is beginning to branch out from the safe space of vintage footage and Raw recaps.

In “Vince Isn’t That Into U,” young Triple H is crushing something awful on the teenage Stephanie McMahon. Sergeant Slaughter advises Trips to tell Steph how he really feels. (Just be glad Macho Man isn’t one of the counselors.) To prove his worth, the teen Game takes Steph’s father Vince McMahon on a date. Meanwhile, John Cena makes a gluten-free lava cake, which Mark Henry promptly eats, leading to the two bonding over Henry’s slowly-digesting food baby.

“A Family McMahon” sees McMahon quit the camp over the cruel pranks of little Steve Austin. It’s funny, but would be better with the real Austin playing himself. The subplot of Nikki Bella taking little Bray Wyatt to a dance is handled well. Little Bray even becomes a sympathetic character at one point, something we haven’t seen on Raw. (They could have gone with Little Mankind, but he may have been too sympathetic.) Lex Luger puts in a cameo, stealing the show with only a few lines.

McMahon is hilarious, as usual. There’s a reason they give him the most screen time, and it’s not just because he’s the boss. McMahon is consistently the show’s biggest surprise, delivering his ADD supervillain dialogue with unexpected comic timing. The rest of the cast puts in decent work, although it would be nice to know who they are. Like many WWE shows, Camp WWE is light on credits, a major head-scratcher when you consider the amount of talent involved. (We can assume that Jim Johnston composed the music, as he’s been WWE’s in-house composer since the eighties.)

We’re only five episodes in, but Camp WWE remains funny, with a few full-on gut laughs in every episode. Jump on here if you haven’t already, then go back and check out the rest.

Wayward Pines SN2 EP1 – ‘Enemy Lines’

waywardpines

Welcome back to Wayward Pines. The second season of this amazing M Night Shamylan Show begins with narration from the main character of the first season’s son.

This episode introduces us to our hero for the season one Dr.Theo Yedlin. Theo is a Doctor and at first wakes up in one of the body freezing tubes. His eyes flash open as he wakes up.

In his mind he sees his wife and the last time he’d see her for 2000 years. They have a fight because he is unable to fully commit in her eyes. He then proceeds to go down to the beach for a drink and bonds with a charismatic man. This man is none other then a famed villain from last season, The Sheriff.

This man, charged with tracking people worth saving drugs Yedlin. Yedlin wakes up on a couch, in a resplendent manor. Thinking he had done wrong he apologizes to the woman before him as he gets up to walk back to his room. He realizes he isn’t on an island anymore.

Yedlin is told that he is needed in the hospital. Why would a doctor on vacation be needed for surgery? He travels with the new woman in a car.  Frank Sinatra plays over the the radio with a creepy tune. As Theo tucks and rolls out of the car, a man throws a grenade. As he runs away the car explodes.

Yedlin is eventually caught and brought back to the lady from before. In the pines people are always caught. He decides to go into surgery because the patient is deeply wounded with a bullet in her neck.

Kate happens to be another character from season 1, a key player of the resistance to the the new commanders. The Lord’s being Nazi like youths who will kill anyone who doesn’t agree with them.

Ben is the leader of the resistance as he should be. He is planning his next move against the vicious tyrants. He and his men have killed many of the Tyrants best but they need to change everything from the inside for this all to stop.

Our wounded heroine tells Yedlin to worry. He really does know nothing, except for the lies he is being fed. He walks out of the room and enjoys a cold beverage of carbonated celery. Gross. As he does he hears another sad song.

Kate kills herself, knowing if she didn’t she would be made a spectacle of.

The episode ends with a reckoning a barbaric showing of a death. The people cheer and scream knowing they are being watched. In the crowd Yedlin sees his wife Rebecca and they reunite happy to see each other, wondering how they got here.

Suddenly Ben appears and gives himself up so the reckonings will stop. He is thrown into the truck and with Yedlin he is now forced to deal with the vicious Abbies who live outside the wall. The Abbies being abnormal humans evolved in this harsh world with super strength and speed. Will they survive? Tune in next Wednesday for Blood Harvest to find out.

‘Survivor: Millennials Vs Gen-X’ Preview

With Survivor Koah-Rong in the can (congrats Michelle “malarkey” Fitzgerald) and the celebration for my first Win with the Survivor Draft (Nailed It!) dying down. Its time to look forward to the Fall, when Survivor returns to Fiji for the first time since 2007 with their 33rd season Survivor: Millennials Vs Gen-x.

In a season that nobody asked for and nobody wanted, CBS has returned to Old Vs Young format that has graced – let’s be honest – some of the least popular seasons like Survivor Exile Island and Nicaragua. But while Panama gave us a 4-way split of Old Men Vs Young Men Vs Old Women Vs Young Women. Season 33 has made use of that buzzword that will plague my generation for years to come … The Millennials.

Survivor The Millennials

Yes, unlike the hard-working and perseverance observed by the Generation-X’ers. Survivors take on The Millennials looks to demonize the younger Tribe with Selfie-Obsessed misnomer and stereotypes lobbied at the ‘inevitable’ laziness that the young up-starts are sure to display.

They might as well subtitled the season Heroes Vs Villains 2 and have done with it.

But while Koah-Rong has amassed a league of Aubrey Braccoloving de-tractors since that Michelle win. The 32nd season gave us a plethora of characters such as the multi-job-titled Debbie to the “love every creatureTai Trang, which judging by the preview-video is set to continue.

Survivor Chris Vs Taylor

First the stereotypes. In the Gen-X corner we have Chris who – with the help of Inside Survivor – we learn is a Trial Attorney at a firm he founded in 2009, epitomises the work ethic and hard work which the Gen-X’ers are famed for. A factor which Chris references to the game, saying that Survivor “is hard work” and won’t be easy as “how fast you can type it into Google to find the answer.

With Technology at the forefront of The Millennials identity, it doesn’t take this years compulsory long-haired-lothario Taylor to get the first Twitter trend in with “#SoleSurvivor“.

Let me back that up with “#FacePalm”.

Survivor Mari

Mari on the other hand doesn’t help matters either. As a Pro-Gammer, she is prime cannon fodder for parents around the world to lament the wasted time a career such as hers can be. Not that Mari cares, rather calling-out the fact that as a Millennial, she is able to make a profession out of what she loves to do.

But Survivor wouldn’t be the show we have loved for so long without some Outcasts thrown into the mix. No, not that terrible twist from Pearl Island. I’m talking about David and Zeke, Tribal opponents in the game with an affinity one another’s ideologies.

I mean, they ain’t no Tai but Zeke’s Hipster-Tache is a marvel. #10thWonderoftheWorld if you will (Damn You Taylor!)

Survivor David

David however is already as endearing as the aforementioned Mr. Trang. His confession that he could have done with “a dozen” participation awards back in his day, gives him a Charlie Brown underdog quality that rivals Spencer Bledsoe himself. Hyperbolic maybe, but like the Second Chancer runner-up, David too has a Chess background that would have him on the Brains Tribe in a heartbeat.

Survivor Zeke

Zeke though, maybe not so much. In what could be a completely inaccurate read, his assertion that he can “hack it” living in the great out-doors, seems at-odds with his high maintenance or ‘well-groomed’ appearance. That tache … Mucho wax needed me thinks.

And like Cydney found out, no branch-chain-amino-acids out there me’lad.

Survivor M Vs G-X

As Survivor fans we have had to grin and bear these gimmicks that Mark Burnett and the team seem to be doubling down on of late.  But to be honest – when paired with a stellar cast – they truly knock it out of the park. I mean after all, both seasons of Brawn Vs Brains Vs Beauty offered up a cacophony of Alpha-players that are sure to return in future seasons and could work in-spite of any gimmick their season is given.

Survivor Gen-x

So while the idea of Millennials Hash-tagging every damn ‘Big-Move’ they make (and the Gen-X’ers condemning every minute of it). After the first swap, we will have to learn the Tribe’s actual names anyway and the big characters will get their chance to shine, regardless of the stereotype thrust upon them in the first half of the game.

And after all is said and done, it isn’t the format that makes the show but the Players themselves. And I for one can’t wait to meet all 20 Castaways when Survivor: Millennials Vs Gen-X returns to CBS this Fall.

Killjoys Returning For Season 2

kj.jpg

Killjoys is a campy, fun sci-fi show, which according to many of the reviews out there, is somewhat reminiscent of Firefly/Serenity. Having watched both Firefly/Serenity and Season 1 of Killjoys, I can see the comparison. There is action, humor, drama, plenty of clever quips, and not an overwhelming amount of science.  All that being said, it does have some adult content.

Killjoys is set in a post-apocalyptic corner of the universe known as The Quad, where the only government appears to be more of a corporate dictatorship and much less of a democracy.

So what’s a Killjoy? In the more proper terminology, they are “Reclamation Agents” working for a (supposedly) non-politically affiliated organization known as the R.A.C. – the Recovery and Apprehension Coalition. This is a mercenary organization, working for anyone who is rich enough to pay the tab and who have the need to track down people who have severely pissed them off. R.A.C.’s bounty hunters, highly trained agents more familiarly known as Killjoys, pursue and retrieve (or kill depending on the level of the warrant) the subjects of the warrants while struggling to retain an unbiased, objective view of the job.

Killjoys focuses on three main characters – Dutch, John Jaqobis and D’Avin Jaqobis. Supporting characters Khlyen – the mysterious man from Dutch’s past; Pree – bartender/owner; and Pawter Simms – a doctor whose license to practice appears to have been revoked, and who is also a high ranking member of a major Quad family, are used quite effectively to flesh out the stories and backstories of each of our three heroes. Other supporting characters include Bellus Hardy – Dutch’s mentor, friend and source of information; and Alvis – the prophet/preacher/messiah of an underground religion.

In the beginning, there is only Dutch and John, R.A.C.’s best team, out in The Quad kicking ass and taking names. Until John takes a level 5 (kill) warrant on his own. The warrant is for his brother, D’Avin, and though the two are estranged, John just can’t sit by and watch that happen. Dutch helps him to find D’Avin, and eventually they get the warrant lifted, which clears the way for D’Avin to join the team. But bounty hunter trios don’t work that well, as it effectively negates the partner dynamic.  Here’s to hoping that this trio will prove to be the exception.

D'Avin

D’Avin is deeply damaged; memories have been taken from him, and he has been programmed to kill in a disassociative state, as our team finds out the hard way when D’Avin is triggered into attempting to kill Dutch. That was a badass fight scene by the way! Amanda Tapping makes a guest appearance as the Doctor who damaged him.

Dutch

Dutch’s mysterious man Khlyen did his own brand of damage to Dutch when she was a child. It is mainly due to his efforts that she is the incomparable bounty hunter that she is. But he trained her as a highly effective assassin, and still has some hold on her, in spite of her determination to put that part of her past away.

John

John is a great guy – funny, loyal, kick ass in his own right, and the main man when it comes to their ship and tech. Of the three, he is the sane one. He’s at least half way in love with Dutch, but as we all know, the great guy rarely gets the girl. And this show is no exception to that rule.

Killjoys was created by Michelle Lovretta, known previously for her work on Lost Girl, another frinkin!! awesome!! Canadian series.

The Stars are:

Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch.
A British actress, she has also appeared in the current season of Game of Thrones, and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.

Aaron Ashmore as John Jaqobis
Aaron is known for his work in Smallville, Warehouse 13, and Lost Girl. Canadian!

Luke MacFarlane as D’Avin Jaqobis
Luke’s work includes Brothers & Sisters, Person of Interest, and The Night Shift. Canadian!

Supporting Cast:

Thom Allison as Pree
Sarah Power as Pawter Simms
Rob Stewart as Khlyen
Morgan Kelly as Alvis

I thoroughly enjoyed the premise of the show and the solid character development of Season 1 and am glad to see that it will be back for Season 2, starting in July of this year. Enough of the blah blah! Here’s the sneak a peek for Season 2.

Orphan Black SN4 EP7 – ‘Antisocialism Of Sex’

orphan-black-the-antisocialism-of-sex-4x07-promotional-picture-orphan-black-39637375-5644-3763

Everyone deals with grief differently. Even twins. And according to the latest episode of Orphan Black, clones too.

This episode mainly deals with how our dear sisters are coping with the loss of Kendall Malone, the original. Needless to say, this episode was filled with emotionally draining scenes, which I think was a great way to mourn the loss of such an epic character.

Enough about me telling you how emotional the latest episode was, it’s time I show you!

Rachel: the captive clone is no longer in captivity. After the loss of the original and her genome, Susan Duncan lost all hope, and let Rachel go free. There is no longer a point in keeping her in her cell. She, along with Charlotte and Ira are going to die soon. To add salt to injury, Evie Cho, the new head of Neolution, announces the official end of the clone programs. She also states that there is no need to even bother with the remaining Leda clones, except for the “self-aware sisters”.

Alison: Alison tried to keep herself busy with organising a birthday slumber party to Gemma (her adopted daughter). Donnie can see that she is suffering, and tries to get her to talk it out. She ignores him and keeps working. The slumber party seems to be a success, until the police comes in to arrest Donnie for his drug dealing past. As Donnie is being taken away by the police, Detective Duco (Evie Cho’s henchman) talks to Alison, gives her his card as he asks her about her feelings towards Kendall’s murder.

Cosima: out of all the clones, it felt like Cosima was the one who had the hardest time dealing. For starters, she saw the murder happen. Added to that, she blames herself for the ordeal, cause after all, she was one who pushed for the deal that lead to the kidnapping, and then murder, of the original. While discussing her chances of survival with Scott, she reveals that she swiped Sarah’s cheek worm after its removal. Maybe they can use it to try and fix something? With the amount of stress she is under, she starts to believe that placing the cheek worm in her could be the solution to her problems (for a person who lost everything, and is about to die anyway, a risky, uneducated and unaided “operation” is not that much of a risk). Halfway through the blind insertion, she gets a call from Felix whose somewhat good news stops her from doing the dumbest thing she has ever done.

Sarah: Siobhan blames Sarah for the death of her mother. So she confronts Sarah, and tells her to just leave again, and never come back. Sarah wants to take Kira with her, but obviously Siobhan won’t stand for it. This leads Sarah to “get off track”. She goes to random clubs, takes drinks from random strangers she’s never met, and even sniffs some white powder! She even starts to see Beth’s ghost everywhere, urging her to follow suit.

Felix: I left Felix till the end because he was the hero of the episode! When he finds out what Mrs S told Sarah, he runs out looking for his sister. On his search and rescue mission, he gets a call from S telling him that Kira had a feeling (I am beginning to think that Kira’s feelings are a sort of super power) that Sarah is following Beth’s lead. On his way to the train station, he gets a call from Scott who needs help with Cosima, which is when he remembered that he didn’t share the news about Delphine Krystal told him. Apparently, after getting herself shot, a yet unknown group took Delphine somwhere while still alive (so there is hope!!). He eventually finds Sarah on the side of a bridge, standing there, thinking of jumping. Felix of course, stops her, managing to save the day twice in the span of 5 minutes!!!

I really, really, REALLY enjoyed this episode. It was just what we needed after the bombshell of an episode that preceded it. Not only was the episode dark and depressing, it also sort of teased for a bright possible future. And that possible future is Rachel and Susan working together with clone club to take back Neolution (just speculating here). Another possible future is a Cosima/Delphine reunited!!!!!!

I am super excited about this week’s episode, and can’t wait to see the next one. How about you? Are you enjoying the direction this season is headed? Do you think we will see a super clone club/Duncan team up? Do you like the idea of a super team up? And of course, do you think Delphine is still alive somewhere (I personally hope she is)?

‘Elementary’ Season 5 To Be Covered On Skatronixxx.com

wp-1464314600638.jpeg

As most Elementary fans know the show is now on break and has been renewed for a 5th season. For those of you who haven’t yet experienced the brilliance of Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu here is a brief series overview of Elementary. If you like me are a Sherlock Holmes fan then its a must watch, I wasn’t sure at first with Watson being female, I mean if it’s not broke don’t fix it right? But this dynamic really works and the story lines always have an element of surprise, I stop watching shows if I know whats going to happen, I like my shows to keep me thinking and the story lines complex and Elementary definitely ticks those boxes for me, so when Season 5 of Elementary returns yours truly will keep you updated with a weekly episode review. Season 4 was a cracker so I’m very much looking forward to what season 5 brings with it.

Elementary Series Overview

Elementary follows Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller), who is a recovering drug addict and former consultant to Scotland Yard, as he now assists the New York City Police Department in solving crime. His indifference to police procedure often leads to conflict with Captain Thomas Gregson (Aidan Quinn), although the two still remain mutually respectful of one another. Holmes is accompanied by Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu), is initially acts as his sober companion. Watson is a former surgeon and was hired by Sherlock’s father to help him in his rehabilitation, Holmes and Watson eventually begin to work together on his cases, Watson becomes Holmes’ apprentice.

Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, the eccentric modern Sherlock Holmes relocates to Manhattan, where his wealthy father forces him to live with a sober companion, Dr. Joan Watson. Watson formerly a successful surgeon untill she lost a patient, she views her current job as another opportunity to help people. However, Sherlock is nothing like her previous clients and informs her that none of her expertise as an addiction specialist applies to him and that he has devised his own post-rehab regimen – resuming his work as a police consultant in New York City. Watson has no choice but to accompany her eccentric new client on his jobs.

Over time, Holmes finds Watson’s medical background helpful, and Watson realizes she actually has a talent with investigation. Holmes’ police contact, Captain Thomas Gregson, knows from previous experience working with Scotland Yard that Holmes is brilliant at solving cases, and welcomes him as part of the team. The investigative team also includes Detective Marcus Bell, an investigator with sharp intuition and intimidating interrogation skills, although initially skeptical of Holmes and his unorthodox methods, Bell begins to recognize Sherlock as an asset to their team.
Elementary features Holmes’ ongoing conflict with his nemesis Jamie Moriarty (Natalie Dormer) and constantly takes many turns, as with his strained relationship with his father. The show also features Detective Marcus Bell (Jon Michael Hill), Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes (Rhys Ifans) and Sherlock’s father Morland Homes (John Noble).

I look forward to bringing you my thoughts and weekly review of Elementary so far no air dates yet but will keep you updated.

Supernatural ‘Finale’ SN11 EP23 – ‘Alpha And Omega’

SN11 EP23:  Alpha and Omega

*A special thanks to the creator of the gifs used in this article:  tumblr user –  It’s Okay, Sammy (Michael)

Wednesday, before The Show aired, I was contemplating things I might say in this review.  I considered the fact that it might have to be an obituary posted here in place of an actual review, because I was absolutely sure that The Show was going to kill me.  I’m still alive… but only hanging on by a thread.  Once again, I’ve done some reading on social media (because I like to get other opinions… even if they’re wrong), and I know that a lot of people are b!tching and whining about this episode.  I guess they didn’t watch  the same Show I watched.  The whiners are all up in arms because their favorite character wasn’t featured enough, or their “ship” didn’t sail… or was sunk all together.  I guess I will never understand why these people continue to  watch a show that they dislike so much.

But, all of that aside… This was an awesome finale!  Once again, I watched with my daughter and Lucy.  Before Showtime, I had a detailed phone conversation with another fan who is a great friend of mine (and bt-dubbs a famous author….hi Taryn Elliot!).  We discussed the new character that was supposed to show up and what we thought she might do and be.  Of course, I’m talking about Lady Toni Bevell (played by Elizabeth Blackmore)… we were sure she was either a hunter or a Woman of Letters (nailed it), and I said it would be great if when she met The Boys, she ran down a laundry list of all their worst screw ups … i.e. The Apocolypse, letting Lucifer out of his cage… etc.  (nailed that too!)  But, I’m not sure I like Lady Toni.

At ALL.

There were a lot of things that I liked about this episode.  I liked that Love (specifically familial love) saved the day instead of a big fight.  I loved Dean playing the role of psychoanalyst and family counselor for Amara and Chuck…and the list goes on and on.  But, most of all, I loved that the biggest hero of the whole episode was a little old lady feeding pigeons in the park.

Oh we got our tear inducing brotherly hugs and good byes…

no chick flick moments.gif

bro hug.gif

And, ya know what… it wasn’t the hug or the “chick flick moments” comment or the tears in both their eyes that made me reach for a tissue.  It was when Dean looked at the keys in his hand then went to give Sam the keys to Baby.  That’s the trigger for me every single time.  Dean giving up Baby’s keys just makes it all so …. final.

Dean mended Amara’s and Chuck’s sibling bond, and Amara gave him a little parting gift in return.  I have to admit… I screamed at least 5 times (only pausing to breathe) and I’m pretty sure my neighbors are never going to speak to me again.  But, c’mon… Mary Winchester as a parting gift?  That’s worth the  awkward moments at the mailbox from now on.  Don’t worry about Sam.  No really.  Come on fellow addicts… uh… fans… we all know that Sam’s okay.  Because, if he’s not, Chuck help Lady Toni when Dean gets a hold of her.  But, realistically… there’s a Season 12 coming, and Jared Padalecki signed on for it, just like Jensen Ackles did.  So, we know that Sammy’s okey dokey.  Let those words comfort you throughout Hellatus.  And, if you’re a Trenchcoat Angel kind of girl, don’t worry about Cas either… Lady Toni only sent him “away”… she didn’t kill him.  He’ll be back in Season 12 too. (Misha Collins signed up too, ya know)

Speaking of Season 12… there’s some questions that will still need some answers come October.  First… where is Lucifer?  Is he going to be a thorn in The Boys’ sides?  Second… what about Rowena and The Book of the Damned?  Is she going to get away with that…again?  Thirdly (is that a word?)… what about Mama Winchester?  Does she have all her marbles?  Does she just magically recognize Dean?  And how long will she be sticking around?  Because, I really wouldn’t wanna be in Lady Toni’s shoes with Mary and Dean on her @$$… seriously.  Mama Winchester was a bad@$$ in her day… and nobody wants to come between a mother and her child.

Well, I could go on and on and wax poetic about The Show all day…. but I have a Hellatus Survival Kit to put together.

The Flash Finale Reveal – The Man In The Iron Mask

A few months ago in The Flash episode 14 of season 2 — ‘Escape from Earth-2,’ we were introduced to an unidentifiable character: the man in the iron mask. This character was a prisoner of Zoom’s and was held hostage in, what I like to call, the Zoom Cave. He couldn’t talk due to the iron mask, but continued to tap on the glass of his prison wall. Barry and Jesse successfully had a crack at translating what the message was: J-A-Y. They assumed that the imprisoned man was simply telling them what they already knew: that Jay was Zoom. The poor, hapless soul. The frustration must have been killing him.

the-flash-season-2-man-in-the-iron-mask

[I recommend watching the season 2 finale before reading this spoiler paragraph.] Theories spewed out of fans — I read theories from Wally West to Henry Allen, but oh no. None of them were correct. As of last night’s season finale, the man in the iron mask was revealed to be the real Jay Garrick. So who is this real Jay Garrick? A heroic, resident speedster from Earth-3, captured by Zoom. It also turns out that he is Henry Allen’s doppelgänger. You most certainly read that correctly.

jay_garrick_flash_23

Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp)

Why choose John Wesley Shipp to be the real Jay Garrick? Perhaps in tribute to the actor because he played Barry Allen in CBS’s The Flash from 1990 to 1991.

John Wesley Shipp in CBS’s The Flash (1990-1991)

For many, this reveal wasn’t a surprise, however for Barry Allen and myself it most certainly was. What are your thoughts on the big reveal? Shocked? Predictable? Comment, share and like below, or tweet me @sohodoll. And as always, “Run Barry, run!”
