Angelina Jolie To Take A Ride On The Orient Express

So it seems that Angelina Jolie is in talks with Fox to star in a new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1934 novel Murder On The Orient Express. If the negotiations are successful than Jolie would most like assume the role of Mrs Harriet Belinda Hubbard, An American socialite who finds herself in the company of travelers who may or may not be responsible for the death of a wealthy businessman en route from Istanbul to Paris. At this stage it is unknown who will play the clever Belgian detective Hercule Poirot who is at the center of the story, however it is known that Kenneth Branagh will be directing from the screenplay by Michael Green (Green Lantern).

Production is scheduled to begin in London this November before relocating to Malta. You will have to be patience though as Fox is currently planning a November 22, 2017 release date for the period thriller. I am definitely intrigued to see who will play Hercule Poirot, it not a part just anyone can play and as for Jolie she definitely would be the best person to play Mrs Hubbard as Jolie already has a 1934 glamour puss look about her, she has an old world Beauty about her and I believe that era will definitely suit her. For those of you not familiar with Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express here is a little background for you.

Murder on the Orient Express is a detective novel by the great Agatha Christie and features a Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, the novel was first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club on 1st January 1934. In 1974 the novel was made into a movie, which was one of the most successful cinematic adaptation of Christie’s work ever and starred; Albert Finney as Poirot, Martin Balsam as M. Bianchi, George Coulouris as Dr. Constantine, Richard Widmark as Cassetti and an all-star cast of suspects including Sean Connery (Arbuthnot), Lauren Bacall (Mrs. Hubbard), Anthony Perkins (McQueen), John Gielgud (Beddoes), Michael York (Count Andrenyi), Jean-Pierre Cassel (Pierre Michel), Jacqueline Bisset (Countess Andrenyi), Wendy Hiller (Princess Dragomiroff), Vanessa Redgrave (Mary Debenham), Rachel Roberts (Hildegard Schmidt), Colin Blakely (Hardman), Denis Quilley (Foscarelli) and Ingrid Bergman who won the 1974 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Greta Ohlsson.

In 2001 a thoroughly modernised and poorly received made-for-TV version starring Alfred Molina as Poirot was presented by CBS. Meredith Baxter co-starred as Mrs. Hubbard and Leslie Caron as Princess Dragomiroff (renamed Señora Alvarado and portrayed as the widow of a South American dictator). Poirot is portrayed as significantly younger and less eccentric than Christie’s detective and in my opinion that’s why it was received so poorly, I love Poirot for how eccentric he is and when you take that away it also takes a certain depth out of the show.

Agatha Christie’s Poirot:
Murder on the Orient Express
In 2010 David Suchet reprises the role of Hercule Poirot in an episode of the television series Agatha Christie’s Poitrot co-produced by ITV Studios and WGBH-TV, adapted for the screen by Stewart Harcourt and was generally faithfully to the original story.

Now this is my opinion and my opinion only, but I think in order for this adaptation to be received and do well, it needs to stay true to its heritage of 1934 and the 1947 adaptation. Poirot needs to remain the eccentric and clever detective because without that its really is just another crime show. I am a huge fan Agatha Christie’s work including Miss Marple and Poirot so I have high expectations if this adaptation goes ahead and i very much look forward to Jolie as Mrs. Hubbard, I think she was born to play that role one day and Im hopping that day comes very soon.

Bob’s Burgers Was Originally About A Family Of Cannibals

wp-1465445556633.png

YES! You read that correctly, Bob’s Burgers was originally ment to be about a family of cannibals. Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard had originally pitched the show to Fox as a family of Cannibals who also run a restaurant, although Fox wasn’t a big fan of the Cannibalism they still decided to give the show the green light as long as the Cannibalism was dropped from the concept. The pilot episode of the show was actually a nod to the original premise of the Cannibalism, where the Belcher family must convince the health department that they aren’t selling human flesh in their Burgers. The show would’ve worked with the cannibalism given that everything is zombie mad, I know I still would have tuned in.

Bob’s Burgers is one of my all time favorite animated comedies, and has become one of the most beloved animated comedies on the air right now. If you haven’t seen Bob’s Burgers you are really missing out guys! So the show (Bob’s Burgers) is centered around an eccentric family (The Belcher’s) that owns a burger joint. So what makes this show stand out from the others you ask? Well its the crazy characters, the unique and ever so clever plot lines and the jokes. Bob’s Burgers will make you laugh out loud with their crazy and eccentric antics. Oh and keep an eye on the banners above the shops as they change every episode.

wp-1465445616442.jpg

So lets meet The Belcher’s

Bob is the owner of the restaurant and husband to his fun-loving and free spirit wife Linda. Their three children are Tina who is the oldest, Gene they only boy and Louise, the youngest. The kids help around the restaurant when they feel like it or if there is something in it for them.

Louise (youngest) is a precocious menace with plenty of sass who is the instigator of most of the debacles that The Belcher’s find themselves in.

Gene (only boy) is a light-hearted goofy boy who aspires to be a great musician.

Tina (oldest) the most awkward one of the family, but she is full of heart as we watch her awkwardly muddle her way through her pubescent experiences, like waxing her legs and her obsession over the neighborhood boys.

As well as The Belcher’s there are recurring characters throughout the series including Bob’s competition (owns the pizzeria across the street) and enemy  Jimmy Pesto Sr and who’s son Tina is obsessed with Jimmy Jr, Louise’s friends Andy and Olli, The Belcher’s landlord Calvin Fischoeder, Teddy a regular at Bob’s Burgers, Mort the funeral director and Gayle, Linda’s eccentric sister.

Once you watch it you will wonder why you didn’t watch it sooner! I promise you will, be hooked. Below is a video of the ‘Best Bits’ of season 1. Enjoy!

Scoop: Lucifer Season 2

wp-1464918241229.jpeg

So Mum is definitely the word going to into Lucifer season 2, given that the last episode shows Lucifer and Amenadiel’s mother has escaped hell. The role of mom is yet to be cast. Joe Henderson, Lucifer’s show runner says “For a while we’ve seen that Amenadiel’s been trying to be ‘God’s favorite son’, emulating himself after his father. So you can imagine that Lucifer might be ‘his mother’s son'”. We should also read into the fact that Maze went MIA after saving Amenadiel. The EP also wishes to feature more of Dr Linda (Rachael Harris) in season 2 with her serving as a confidante for other characters in the show.

There is still much debate as to who and what mom is, the majority at this stage say it’s Lilith who is the first female demon and at this stage everyone is remaining tight lipped as to who will play mommy dearest in season 2. I am very much looking forward to seeing how season 2 plays out after season 1 there is plenty of questions to be answered as well as plenty of avenues go down story wise.

Lucifer season 2 is set to air in fall 2016 in its usual time slot, which is Monday’s at 9:00-10:00pm Eastern/Pacific time.

The investigation complicated by the surprise arrival of Chloe’s mother. Malcom reveals to Dan his plans to kill Lucifer, as directed by Amenadiel and Maze visits Dr. Martin as a patient.

SN1-EP11 – ‘ St. Lucifer ‘

Chloe wakes up and slowly starts to realize she is not in her bed, nor is she clothed and then it dawns on her exactly who’s bed she is naked in and its in that moment you see the “oh shit what have I done” look on her face that I’m sure many of us have experience at one time or another? Lucifer cheekily asks Chole if she would like a double espresso or a hair of the dog while he strings her along thinking that they had slept together. Lucifer has gotten some sort of rush from turning Chloe down and seeks to replicate that rush by doing good deeds starting with the latest murder the dynamic duo were called to investigate, Mr Dunlear an ex ball player come philanthropists helping the children of Hati. Lucifer decides that his function must go on and offers the grieving wife to hold the function at LUX, hoping the good deed would provide him with another rush but alas that wasn’t so.

Malcom has Dan in the basement cable tied to a poll, he tells Dan he was brought back from hell by an angel and in order to stay out of hell and live a full life, he has to put a bullet in Lucifer, Dan tells Malcom he doesn’t like Lucifer but he wont allow him to kill him and that’s when Malcom reminded Dan that his print are all over the weapon so it will actually be you killing him. Chloe and Lucifer attend a luncheon full of women in the hopes it Lucifer can charm some information out of them, the suave devil entertains the ladies when a plan D presents itself to the duo. Malcom goes back to the basement to taunt Dan more and he get him to come close enough to kick the food out of this hands and food and cutlery go flying and Dan managers to hide the knife under his foot, he finally able to break out of the basement to find Lucifer.

Maze pays Amenadiel a visit and they bond over wine, both feeling lonely and by the looks could lead to a lot more bonding. Lucifer look devilish for this evening function is surprised when Malcom is behind him pointing a gun at him, Lucifer is able to bargain him off with the pentecostal coin, Mrs Dunlear comes looking for Lucifer the “man of the hour” and it hits him, she murdered her husband and as he turned she shot Lucifer in the chest. Dan gets to LUX and finds Lucifer on the ground upstairs shot in the chest my then Lucifer’s takes a breath much to their surprise. Lucifer is speaking to Maze again and soon finds out she slept with Amenadiel, he tells her that his dear brother got some on to kill him and is not sure why he is alive, he slices his hand with a pocket knife and there was no cut or blood, so why is he immortal sometimes and completely human other times? Lucifer heads to Chloe’s places to test a theory, Chloe tells him their relationship goes further than just work and she is able to let her guard down around him, she can’t do that with anyone else and tell him he makes her vulnerable and at the moment he cuts his hand with the pocket knife behind his back and there is blood in his hand, with a shocked and confused look he tells her that it appears you make me vaunrabl too.

What a great episode didn’t see it going down that road and normally I can pick that stuff a mile away and then I get board with the show, but Lucifer is different It keeps me guessing and interested and now even more so with this episode!

“Pop’s” SN1-EP10

Lucifer and Decker are investigating the suspected poisoning death of a well-known chef/owner of an upscale Mexican restaurant, whilst investigating Decker get a surprise visit from her Mother who has just arrived back in LA and seem Lucifer is clearly a little taken by Mrs Decker as they flirt with each other and he gets an invite to a “family dinner”. Decker and Lucifer start interviewing the staff including the chefs son (Manny Montana) and Lucifer is convinced that the son killed his father given their past relationship. Sous-chef Anne (Tara Summers) who would assume control of the restaurant if the son was out of the picture, tells Lucifer &Decker she would never hurt her boss, then suddenly she coughs up blood and collapses, meanwhile Maze turns up to see Dr Martin for help to make her “Normal” but well all know that’s a tall order!

We see Maze make her first friend but she’s not quite in the same age group of Maze. The family dinner doesn’t go to plain as Lucifer manages to piss everyone off including douchebag Dan. Decker and Lucifer realizes that the sous-chef Anne is the one who poisoned her boss but the poison was ment for his son, she worked hard for that restaurant and he was just going to give it to his son, she couldn’t let that happen, so she poisoned the son’s meal but, what she didn’t know is that he had become a vegetarian. Malcom reveals to Dan his plan’s to kill Lucifer, ordered by his own brother Amenadiel, as much as Dan dislikes Lucifer he tells Malcom he can’t let him kill Lucifer? Well didn’t see that on the cards, douchebag Dan looking out for Lucifer? Chole get’s a break up text from Dan, but they weren’t really back together so she drowns her sorrows with wine and ends up at Lucifer’s place sad, drunk, and flirty but to my surprise Lucifer says no???
