Idris Elba ‘The Dark Tower’ Photos Leaked

As everybody knows, Stephen Kings Western Thriller ‘The Dark Tower’ is going to be filmed now and will hit theatres 17th February 2017. The Daily Mail has published some set photos of Idris Elba as the main character, a guns man as known as Roland Deschain.

Controversial discussions

The 43 years old British actor was controversial discussed as cast as the main character Roland Deschain. As every fan of the ‘The Dark Tower’ knows, Roland is described as an ugly, old and white guy. So it’s pretty surprising that Elba was casted as Deschain, but I think it’s a pretty good choice!

Elba who is known for his characters amongst others, like ‘Captain Janek’ in Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’, or his recent movie ‘The Jungle Book’ as the voice of ‘Shir Khan’, is a multilayer men who knows his stuff.

Nikolaj Arcel and Stephen King also confirmed Matthew McConaughey as Walter Padick (Man in Black) as Deschains antagonist. We can be curious how Elba and McConaughey will interact with each other during the movie.

First look at Roland Deschain

So let’s have a look at Elba as Roland Deschain.

The Luther star looked pretty handsome in his costume. He wore a white shirt, waistcoat with a red scarf around his neck including dark jeans, leather boots and the important: the gun holsters. He pretty rocked the western style and covered everything you need as a hero.

What is ‘The Dark Tower’ about?

‘The Dark Tower’ is a western book series, which includes other genres like dark fantasy, science fantasy and horror too. The eight book series is written by American writer Stephen King which describes a guns man, who is on his quest towards the Dark Tower.

What does Stephen King say about the movie?

Stephen King said that fans can be disappointed about the movie adaption of ‘The Dark Tower’. There will be a lot of difference between the book and the adaption, just like the main character and the process of the plot. The movie will not begin linear to the books and will start in the middle of the plot. Maybe this choice of the beginning can be just an addition to the Franchise.

Perhaps Kings Tweet in May is a hint about the beginning of the Dark Tower adaption. Maybe Nikolaj Arcel starts the adaption, where King has ended in the book. It wouldn’t be a bad decision, because Kings Story is pretty complex and extensive, that it wouldn’t be an easy job to include everything that happened in the book.

So we’ll see what awaits us next.

A Review Of X-Men Apocalypse

Days of Future Past was an X-men movie that basically reboot the entire X-men universe through an awesome time travel plot that was insanely heartfelt and inspiring (I remember leaving the cinema all teary eyed with the general feeling that everything is possible). In other words, it is a given that any follow up to this film would be an awesome re-introduction to the newly re-created X-men universe. And the Apocalypse trailers did show a LOT of promise, I mean it is only fitting that a universe gets destroyed right after it is created!

However, Apocalypse, with all his might, did not have the power to live up to my expectations.

Videogames always had epic storylines that Hollywood loves to adapt into movies. And more often than not, those movies are hated by the hard-core gamers. Cause let’s face it, how on earth do you expect to give an average 20+ hours of gameplay justice in a 2 hour movie.
