So who are Sugar Rush Rocks……

Band members are: Vocals: Paige Nickole, Drums: RJ Hill, Bass: Jake Brightman, Lead Guitar: Michael Sebastian, Rytham Guitar: Joey Fattore, they hail from the South NJ/Philly area and range in age from 13 -16 years-old. SRR cover rock classics and do an awesome job, their vocalist Paige has an amazing voice and has got some real talent and can certainly hit those notes and don’t get me started on the boys, the way they play those instruments, you would think they have been playing for 20 odd years! They blow me away and listing to them makes me incredibly happy!

SRR cover the greats in rock and roll including, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar and Radio Head to name a few, although they don’t have an album (yet!) they do play live gigs. I look forward to buy their album one day! Sugar Rush Rock are definitely a band to watch!!  SSR were kind enough to do a Q&A for Skatronixxx.com which you can check it out blow along with some videos of their gigs, you will find more vids on their YouTube channel

Sugar Rush Rocks Q&A

P. Describe SRR in five words.

SRR. Unique, Focused, Motivated,  Friends, Dedicated.

P. When did the band form and what was the inspiration for the band’s name?

SSR. Sugar Rush Rocks was formed in 2012. When we came up with the name we just thought we are kids rocking out like were on a “Sugar Rush.”

P. Who are your major musical influences?

SRR. Our influences are: Tom Keifer, Dave Grohl, Paul McCartney, John Bonham, Beatles.

P. What has been your most memorable band moment?

SRR. The first time we played together live we were so nervous and awkward around each other. We are so close now and became so close in such a short period of time. Looking back it seems strange that we ever felt nervous around each other.

P. What’s the song writing process like for SRR?

SRR. We usually figure out the rhythm, add layers followed by vocals.

Is Joss Whedon To Direct The Musical Crossover Of The Flash and Supergirl?

jwhedon

Rumor has it that non other than Joss Whedon might direct the musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl later this TV season.

I for one would be thrilled if Joss Whedon were to direct these episodes. He has some experience from previous projects like Buffy the Vampire Slayer “Once more with feeling” and Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.

In the last few days it has been said that there will be a dance sequence in the musical crossover. With both the leads of the show being skilled in both dancing and singing I think we will see some crazy stuff. And if Joss Whedon were to direct these episodes, nothing is confirmed yet by the network, it is save to say we are in for a treat (as you might agree after seeing the YouTube clip). And people are all ready speculating who the villain might be and who will be cast. One of the names that has come up is Neil Patrick Harris. As always time will tell so stay tuned for more information is surely to come.

I may be a little biased I am aware a that. But Joss Whedon is a great director and a man with a vision. And I think he would take this crossover to something epic. So I am looking forward to the musical crossover with a bit of caution and excitement. Because either it will be epic or a fail in my opinion. There is no in between. So we have to wait and see what it will be.

Gutsy Adele Turns Down NFL, Pepsi, Superbowl

In a story blowing up all over the internet (at least the internet of America), it’s being reported that Adele has announced she’s turned down the opportunity to perform at the NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show. The Super Bowl will be in Houston, TX in early 2017.

Regarded as possibly the “biggest gig in the world,” the music industry, tabloids, NFL, and Pepsi have jumped all over this seemingly “shocking” decision. Some of them to clarify, some to praise or denounce Adele’s audacity at turning this opportunity down.

To her credit, Adele says she declined because the show is “not about the music…and I don’t really dance or anything like that,” but goes on to graciously thank the NFL and Pepsi for thinking of her.

The NFL usually doubles the Super Bowl halftime period to 30 minutes. The show is traditionally a huge spectacle taking up the whole field, requiring a large stage, and a large cast. Normally, Adele styles her concerts to have a more intimate and less flashy atmosphere.

Incidentally, Adele does go further to say that she may be interested in doing the show in the future. She mentions that she plans on doing a dance album next. In other words, she’s not saying she would never do the Super Bowl. She’s just saying now is not the best time, in her opinion.

The NFL and Pepsi together released a statement saying a FORMAL offer was never extended.

In the past, the NFL and the Super Bowl Halftime Show sponsor have made short lists of possible performers before announcing a final choice. The themes of the show are normally heavily based on the artist’s genre and style.

In the view of the NFL and Pepsi, it’s a good idea to have multiple options. The entertainment industry is spinning this to make it seem like the carefully worded statement was released to cover their tracks and avoid insulting the artist that does end up performing. The perception being that the artist who does perform would be the “2nd choice.”
