This weeks track of the week comes from Massachusetts Punk band The Unseen and the track Scream Out taken from there State Of Discontent album which was released in 2005.
The album was produced by Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys the album pulled on a more Post Hardcore edge than there earlier work. The album also contained guest appearances from Lars Frederiksen of Rancid and Dicky Barrett of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The album also included a cover of Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones.
The Lyrics of the song go as follows.
1, 2, 3, Go!
Well all my life this music saved me
I can’t afford no therapy
My frustration it needs release,
So cut me open and hear me bleed
Playing punk keeps me sane
I don’t need drugs to numb the pain
It keeps me alive, I hope it helps you
I won’t let your worthless America ruin me
NO WAY!
I’m screaming out, somebody listen,
It feels so good, this therapy!
[x2]
I lost control and hurt myself
I knew deep down that I needed some help
That self-abuse it would not stop,
No matter how hard I tried
So I lied when I tried
To pull my life together
Am I going insane? Think again
I just got so fed up with being unstable
NO MORE!
I’m screaming out, somebody listen,
It feels so good, this therapy!
[x4]
I’m screaming out, somebody listen,
It feels so good, this therapy!
[x4]
I’m screaming out! [x7]
Get me some help!
As always turn it up loud and bang your head and I’ll see you again next week for my track of the week.
