Get To Know The Character’s Of TV Series Lucifer

In anticipation of Lucifer Season 2 which is set to air on September 19, we at Skatronixxx thought what better way to be prepared for Season 2, than by looking at a breakdown of the character’s, including the two new characters that were announced last week, Charlotte (Lucifer’s Mom) and Ella Lopez (forensics) who we will be seeing a lot of Season 2.

Lucifer Morningstar: The Lord of Hell
Played by Tom Ellis, Lucifer (formerly known as Samael) bored with his life and abdicates his throne and becomes a consultant for the L.A.P.D whilst running his night club Lux. Lucifer has many powers including a supernatural awareness of any person’s hidden desires and can compel them to speak the truth. Lucifer enjoy’s using theses abilities to expose sinners in public, when he Lucifer speaks of his identity, but he is never believed and it gets brushed off.
Powers and Abilities:
- High-Tier Angelic Physiology – As an angle, Lucifer is very powerful. Considering the fact that Lucifer is one of the strongest angels, his powers far outclass that of Amenadiel or Uriel, and is on par with Michael (when he possesses his wings). Without his wings, Lucifer’s powers are seemingly greatly reduced.
- Supernatural Strength – Lucifer is capable of displaying superhuman physical strength, notably able to send a large man flying 30 feet through a glass wall with a mere push. Being an upper tier angel he is able to easily overpower angels like Amenadiel even after Lucifer lost his wings.
- Supernatural Stamina – Lucifer often proclaims to have tremendous stamina.
- Supernatural Durability – Lucifer is able to take immense amounts of physical damage, yet he doesn’t suffer any injuries or pain.
- Supernatural Reflexes – Lucifer possesses great reflexes, as we have seen time and time again. Especially when he caught a knife Maze had thrown at him.
- Desire Exhibition – Lucifer’s mere presence lowers the inhibitions of everyone around him, inducing them to reveal their true nature, their darkest secrets and desires. This allows him to make Faustian deals with various people in exchange for favors.
- Temptation Inducement – Lucifer, being highly sexual, can easily make himself carnally irresistible to most human women and sometimes men, which he uses to his advantage. However there is a select few, including Chloe Decker who seem to be resistant to his power.
- Telekinesis – Lucifer is able to levitate and spin a coin using his mind.
- Chronokinesis – Lucifer is able to remain active when time is slowed down, this usually happens when Amenadiel would visit Earth.
- Shape-shifting – Lucifer is capable of altering his true angelic appearance, making himself look either a dashingly handsome young human male, or a fearsome demon with red skin and blazing red eyes. He can also just alter the color of his eyes, and make only a select few people see his demonic form (while others still see him as a handsome human male). We assume Amenadiel sees Lucifer’s true angelic appearance even when Lucifer is in human form.
- Teleportation – Lucifer was able to appear in a house, right after Chole had locked him inside her car.
- Immortality – (This is only so, if Chole Decker is not near him). As an angel, Lucifer cannot be killed, however his Immortality is temporarily affected if he is in the vicinity of Chloe Decker. To test his theory, Lucifer tried to cut himself with a knife in the presence of Maze, but was shown to be invulnerable, However when he tried the same test in the presence of Chloe with the same knife, he bled, revealing his immortality and protections are greatly lowered in Chloe’s presence.
- Night-Omniscience – Lucifer possesses an infinite amount of knowledge, and is remarkably well spoken and sophisticated, as a result. However, he notably has a poor understanding of human children, due to his general dislike of them.
Former Powers:
- Flight – As Samael, Lucifer was once capable of utilizing his immense, angelic wings for flight. After leaving Hell, he had Mazikeen cut them off, he later burned them to prevent them from ever being reattached or stolen again.
Weakness:
- Chloe Decker – The reason why is currently unknown at this stage, she is insensitive to Lucifer’s power and charm and she is able to render him powerless and defenseless against all means of harming.
- Demonic Blades Forged in Hell – While its is most likely not possible to kill him with demon weapons, Lucifer did confirm that they “prick”.
- Angels – Amenadiel was able to physically harm Lucifer even though he was far out of reach of Chloe. However, considering Lucifer’s evaluated position in the angelic hierarchy, normal angels like Amenadiel can hurt Lucifer to a limited or very limited extent. Its possible if Lucifer still had his wings, Amenadiel and the other regular angels wouldn’t be able to harm him at all.

Detective Chloe Decker:
Played by Lauren German, Chloe Decker is an L.A.P.D homicide detective who solves crimes with Lucifer after he took a very keen interest and is intriguing by that fact that the gorgeous detective is immune to his abilities. Following an earlier incident in which she clashed with her department concerning a cop shooting and is now ostracized by her fellow officers. Chloe Decker also has her own ability as it seems she is the only one that can physically hurt Lucifer.
Abilities:
- Marksmanship – Chloe has outstanding aim and can handle a weapon like nobody’s business.
- Mystical Immunity – Chloe is somehow immune to Lucifer’s powers of coercion when used towards her, much to his surprise. She is still affected by Lucifer’s other powers, such as Chronokinesis.
- Rendering Lucifer Vulnerable – We don’t yet understand why Lucifer becomes immortal and physically vulnerable when he is in the vicinity of Chloe Decker.
- Combatant – Chloe is trained in self-defense.

Detective Dan Espinoza:
Played by Kevin Alejandro, Dan Espinoza is also an L.A.P.D homicide detective and is Chloe’s ex-husband. Dan and Lucifer clash constantly as he doesn’t like the fact that Lucifer has a connection with Chole and their daughter Trixi, although Lucifer is not very keen on children. Dan was also involved in the cop shooting that Chloe has been ostracized for. Lucifer also refers to Dan as Detective Douchebag.
Abilities:
- Annoyance – It’s really the only ability Dan has and does well, he manages to irritate Lucifer constantly.

Amenadiel: A dark-winged Angel
Played by D. B. Woodside, Amenadiel is Lucifer’s brother who arrives in LA to encourage Lucifer to go back to Hell. Amenadiel believes Lucifer’s new life is upsetting Earth’s balance. Their relationship isn’t full of brotherly love as you might expect, the pair despise one another and are constantly bickering
Powers and Abilities:
His powers are not fully known, however he is not as powerful as Lucifer but he is still more powerful than the demon Maze. Theses are the powers Amenadiel’s displayed so far.
Powers
- Angelic Physiology/Extreme Power – As an angel, he is powerful and possesses many abilities.
- Immortality – Amenadiel cannot be killed by conventional means.
- Chronokinesis – Amenadiel is able to slow down time when he converses with Lucifer, and keeping his presence on Earth invisible to humans.
- Superhuman Reflexes – Amenadiel possesses great reflexes, and is able to effortlessly dodge the attacks of Maze.
- Superhuman Strength – Amenadiel also possesses great strength, far stronger than any human being.
- Shape-Shifting – Amenadiel is also capable of altering his true angelic appearance, making himself look like a human male, and claims to be comfortable in his human form.
- Wings – The feathers of Amenadiel’s angelic wings are sharp and could do some damage.
- Flight – Through the use of his wings, Amenadiel is capable of flying.
- Resurrection – Amenadiel has the power to bring people back to life.
Abilities:
- Expert Combatant – Amenadiel is highly skilled hand-to-hand combatant, able to swiftly gain the upper hand against Maze, much to Maze’s disgust.
Weakness:
- Demon Weapons – Demon weapons can cause fatal injury to an angels.
- Angels – Other angels are able hurt Amenadiel
Mazikeen “Maze” (Lesley-Ann Brandt) Photo: Fox
Mazikeen: Demon
Played by Lesley-Ann Brandt, Mazikeen (Maze) is a war leader of the Lilim, a race descended from Lilith. Maze is Lucifer’s confidante and his devoted ally she also acts as the bartender at Lucifer’s nightclub Lux. Maze has some serious attitude and is fearless loyal and protective of Lucifer, she doesn’t care much for Chole Decker, jealous that she is taking Lucifer from her.
Power and Abilities:
Powers
- Demon Physiology/Vast Power – As a demon, Mazikeen is far superior to a human, having augmented supernatural power.
- Immortality – As a demon, Mazikeen cannot be killed by ordinary means.
- Superhuman Strength – Maze possesses far superior strength to a human being, though inferior to that of an angel, like Amenadiel.
- Superhuman Speed – Maze is able to move far faster than any human.
- Chronokinesis – Much like Lucifer and Amenadiel, Maze is able to remain active when Amenadiel slows time down.
Abilities
- Expert Hand-to-hand Combatant – Maze had shown excellent fighting skill, unarmed.
- Expert Knifes Combatant – Maze has also mean fighting skills, with karambit knives.
Beatrice “Trixie” (Scarlett Estevez) Photo: Fox
Beatrice “Trixie”:
Played by Scarlett Estevez, Trixie is Chloe and Dan’s daughter, she befriends Lucifer much to his surprise and disgust, since he despises children. But he secretly has a soft spot for her as the little human is growing on him.
Powers
- Cuteness – Trixie has slowly worked her way into the hearts of both Lucifer and her new friend Maze.

Dr. Linda Martin:
Played by Rachel Harris, Dr Martin is Lucifer’s therapist with whom he has a sexual relationship with thanks to his powers of persuasion. Dr. Martin believes that Lucifer is using a religious metaphor and does not believe he is really the devil. Dr. Martin attempts to help Lucifer solve his emotional and personal problems throughout the series, and tries to get him to open up about his emotions.
Power
- Therapist Extraordinaire – Dr. Harris is the only woman who can drag emotions out of Lucifer and able to get him to talk.

Detective Malcolm Graham:
Played by Kevin Rankin, A police officer who was shot prior to the beginning of the series. Chloe Decker witnessed the shooting, which occurred while Malcolm was secretly meeting with a suspected criminal. After the shooting, Malcolm was left in a coma. But he was brought back from the dead by Amenadiel to kill Lucifer. Melcolm was killed by Chloe Decker in the season finale after a series of murders Melcolm had committed.

Charlotte: Mother of Angles
Played by Tricia Helfer, Charlotte is God’s ex-wife and mother of Lucifer and Amenadiel, she has been trapped in Hell for thousands of years but has recently escaped and Lucifer is tasked with re-capturing her. Once reunited with Lucifer it becomes apparent that he in fact takes after his mother, however mother doesn’t share the same intrigue that Lucifer does when it comes to humanity.
Powers
We are yet to learn what Charlotte is capable of, no doubt she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Ella Lopez:
Played by Aimee Garcia, Ella is a forensic scientist at the L.A.P.D and is somewhat of a walking contradiction as she hails from a strong catholic family but is a scientist. Ella grew up under the watchful and protective eye of five brother in a rough neighborhood in Detroit. Lucifer finds Ella’s mutual belief in both faith and science extremely intriguing as do her colleagues at the department who will get to love her quirky ways.
Powers
We are still yet to learn what Ella can do and how well she can do it.
Scoop: Lucifer Season 2

So Mum is definitely the word going to into Lucifer season 2, given that the last episode shows Lucifer and Amenadiel’s mother has escaped hell. The role of mom is yet to be cast. Joe Henderson, Lucifer’s show runner says “For a while we’ve seen that Amenadiel’s been trying to be ‘God’s favorite son’, emulating himself after his father. So you can imagine that Lucifer might be ‘his mother’s son'”. We should also read into the fact that Maze went MIA after saving Amenadiel. The EP also wishes to feature more of Dr Linda (Rachael Harris) in season 2 with her serving as a confidante for other characters in the show.
There is still much debate as to who and what mom is, the majority at this stage say it’s Lilith who is the first female demon and at this stage everyone is remaining tight lipped as to who will play mommy dearest in season 2. I am very much looking forward to seeing how season 2 plays out after season 1 there is plenty of questions to be answered as well as plenty of avenues go down story wise.
Lucifer season 2 is set to air in fall 2016 in its usual time slot, which is Monday’s at 9:00-10:00pm Eastern/Pacific time.
