San Diego Comic Con 2016 Funko Pop Exclusives! Wave 6

main

Let’s face it, everyone loves Funko Pops, they are this generations version of the Beanie Babies. They are cute, collectible and there seems to be no end to them. I started collecting them forSkatronixxx Jr but stopped after realising that I’d never be able to collect them all. Would I still continue collecting them? Sure if I had the money, but alas I have temporarily put my Funko Pop collection on hold, it doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy looking at them though!

There are however hardcore Funko fans out there and  the company knows this, that’s why they are aiming to bombard those lucky people who are going to San Diego Comic Con or SDCC with at least nine waves of exclusive figures.

What’s more having the ‘Funko Limited Edition 2016 Comic Con‘ sticker is a prize possesion for any serious collector and a cool trinket for the causal fan.

According to multiple sources, Kiersey Clemons is the favorite to take on the female lead role in the Flash movie. This would be the second time the actress has worked with Rick Famuyiwa, who was recently announced as the Flash movie director after Seth Grahame-smith departed the project. They previously worked together in the 2015 critically acclaimed comedy-drama Dope. The female lead in The Flash movie is believed to be that of Iris West, a young journalist and a love interest of Barry Allen.

Other actresses being considered for the role are, The Voice UK judge ,singer and actress, Rita Ora( Fifty Shades of Grey) and actress Lucy Boynton (Sing Street).

The Flash directed by Rick Famuyiwa and starring Ezra Miller in the titular role, will land in theaters on March 16 1018.

The CW In Bed With Netflix Now

cw netflix

Whether you’re a fan of “the comic book” shows like Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl or shows like The 100… maybe you’re a vampire lover and can’t do without The Vampire Diaries and The Originals… or maybe you’re a Supernatural addict like me…. or all of the above… this is a deal that will probably make you do back flips.  At least, as it pertains to your binge watching habits.

Beginning with the 2016 – 2017 seasons, whole seasons of CW shows will be available 8 days after the finale airs.  EIGHT DAYS!

This is all well and good for all the binge watchers…. right?

But what about the people that just miss one episode?  You know, the ones that had a DVR malfunction…. or had breaking news locally that interrupted their favorite show.  The ones that caught the show the next day on Hulu.  Yeah.  Well, you’re all SOL.  Hulu’s current contract expires with The CW in early October, right before the premiers of most of the networks biggest shows…. including Supernatural.  That contract will not be renewed; the deal between the network and everyone’s favorite binge watching site is an exclusive deal.  That’s right, they aren’t just dating, ladies and gentlemen…. they got married.  It’s a strictly monogamous deal now.

The only place you’ll be able to catch next day airings if you miss last night’s episode is on the commercial filled CW website or their apps.  But, hey, if you miss that favorite show, it’s worth a few commercials to get to see it the next day…. right?

We want to hear your opinion!  Sound off about this deal in the comments below.

An Interview With Cosplayer Michael Ajih

Hi Readers

It’s time for another cosplay interview, this time we meet Michael Ajih! The quality of Michael Ajih outfits are what made me contact him for an interview, they are truly stunning!  Let’s find out some more about Michael Ajih.

1) How did you get into cosplaying?

It started back when I went to a fancy dress party in 2004, after the party was done I wanted to dress up again. The only excuse I had to dress up was themed parties which was poor because it only happened on those rare occasions.

2) Where do you get your inspiration and ideas to cosplay from? Is it from programs you watch now or childhood programs or both?

The inspiration comes from my friends who are cosplayers too (which helps a lot), and things I see in film, television and in the comic books or anime.

3) How do you put your outfits together are they 100% from scratch and if so what’s been your trickiest part to date?

I get my suit done from the RPC Studios they did a magnificent job on my Spider-Man (Miles Morales) suit, I have two more suits coming from them… WATCH THIS SPACE.

4) What’s your favourite cosplay to date?

I’ve done the following…
The Flash
Captain America
Star-Lord
Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
Out of all of them I would have to say hands down it would have to be my Spider-Man cosplay as my favourite one so far.

5) If you’ve cosplayed at a convention what was the experience like?

The experience is amazing you get to meet like minded people, see cosplayers in their element as well as yourself. A lot of photos being taken. Meeting the writers/artist from the comics you read.

But most importantly of all of that is bringing the magic to the children where the world they see in their imaginations or in some sort of media is actually brought to life and real for them. It’s really great fun.

6) Can we expect to see you at any conventions this year?

Yes you’ll, the next convention I’ll be at is MCM London ComicCon in October. I’ll be there all three days plus I’ll be making my debut in my two new suits.

cap spider
7) If you could cosplay as anyone and budget wasn’t an issue who would it be?

That’s a hard one because I can’t just choose one, but here’s a few if the cosplays I would do if the opportunity was given…

Spawn
Falcon
War Machine
Cyborg
Batman Beyond
Deadpool
Black Panther
8) Where can we find you online?

You can find me online on the following social media sites…

There you go readers Michaelajih! Don’t be shy go say hi and say ‘Skatronixxx sent me!’

Constantine Is BACK! Could We Be In Line For A Tv Series Return?

Constantine_Show-e1399833122634

Constantine fans rejoice! The show is back, although sadly it’s not back for a second series, with the news that CW have acquired the show and are showing it for FREE (yes free) on CW Seed, this had sparked a frenzy of rumors that the show could be coming back.

Now don’t get me wrong I love El Rey, they are constantly putting shows out there of top quality that may not have got picked up elsewhere, they are also the home of the number one wrestling promotion right now Lucha Underground. That’s why I trusted them 100% or that was until the pulled the plug on Constantine. I don’t understand the reasons for it, but needless to say I went into a Firefly like state of denial before finally coming to terms with the shows demise quite recently.

So why have CW picked up the show? Well they already have an impressive array of shows in Supergirl, Riverdale, Frequency, Beauty And The Beast and oh yeah most importantly Arrow, to name but a few. yes I know I left out Vampire Diaries, The Flash, The Originals, Legends Of Tomorrow and The 100. I feel that this was less about the chance of reviving the show but more about stocking up on it’s DC heavy content.

It makes sense for CW to get the rights to the show after all it owns most if not all of the other DC television adaptations. Plus what’s more within the DC Universe there are frequent crossovers, so when you’re watching Arrow and John Constantine makes an appearance you know he’s the number one badass in exorcism and the demonic black arts.

Could the fact the show has been picked up, mean we could be in for a long awaited and much hoped for second series? Well in reality sadly not, as the cast and crew were released from their contracts once negotiations to try and save the show had failed. Although with the news that the Dark Justice League is set to be animated rather than live action, there may be a tiny sliver of hope.

Constantine, however, did pop up in Arrow’s fourth season when he was brought in by Oli to try and resolve the Sara Lance Lazarus Pit problem. Let’s face it he stole the show in that one episode and CW you would be mad not to pick this series up, then again you didn’t renew The Secret Circle so I’m not holding out any hope.

Just incase you miss our favourite exorcist, here’s the official trailer from the show below

Arrow Fans Rejoice! Diggle Is Returning Without The *Magneto* Helmet!

diggle-cisco-188708

Arrow fans, rejoice John ‘Diggle’ is returning for Arrow Season 5, not only that but he’ll be returning minus the highly controversial Magneto styled helmet. I for one think Diggle is pure badass, he’s the muscle behind Team Arrow and has anyone ever considered the possibility of David Ramsey as the next James Bond or Jason Bourne? I for one could see it. However for all of Diggles’ toughness and dependability, there was one thing that I could not take seriously, THAT HELMET! Now don’t get me wrong if you’re a badass supervillan aka Magneto you can wear purple and a silly helmet and still strike fear into people because you are a pure combination of awesomeness and evilness, but for Digs, sadly even though he is one tough guy, not even him could pull that look off.

Now don’t get me wrong, if you got a young family and you’re fighting some seriously bad people to save your city on a daily basis, you’ll need some form of protection. But not that, come on DC get original, get some inspriation from somewhere, if you’re gunna take some inspiration, don’t take it from arguably one of the greatest villans from the Marvel Universe of all time. That’s like Marvel ripping off The Penguin *finds The Owl online* oooooooh right!

So what will this new helmet look like? Will it be a Doctor Doom inspired mask? Well all we can say is that we don’t know BUT it will be designed by none other than the lovable sidekick of The Flash, Cisco Ramon aka Vibe. You know that means? ARROW-FLASH crossover YAY!!!

This was confirmed by Ramsey at fan event Heroes & Villains Fan Fest 2016, when answering questions from the crowd he responded by saying ‘Season 5, you will see a Cisco-created new mask for Diggle.’

I for one am psyched about this news for three reasons. 1)Diggle is back 2)The Silly helmet is gone 3)Arrow-Flash crossover.

What do you think? Are you glad that the helmet is gone, Diggle is back and we’re getting another crossover episode? Let us know!

The CW & Netflix Making a Deal

thecw

I’ve been reading a lot lately about the deal that The CW is hammering out with Netflix.  Variety and several other websites have done articles about the deal in the last several days, and there’s a few points that all of you that watch the shows on the network (including Supernatural, Arrow, and The Flash) need to know.

  • The deal would be “exclusive” to Netflix.  With the exception of The CW showing the “rolling 5” on their website and other media (apps, etc), Netflix would be the only place to watch the shows.  In other words, no more watching shows the next day on Hulu…. which is a real bummer to me, since that was where I watched next day stuff whenever I missed it for whatever reason the night before.
  • Netflix would have the newest complete season just weeks after the finale.  This is a big deal.  You would then be able to stream whole seasons of shows like Supernatural, Arrow, Vampire Diaries and The Originals in less than 2 weeks from their finales.
  • The Hulu contract expires in October.  Hulu wasn’t willing to re-up their contracts without being able to stream all episodes in a stacking deal, but the network wouldn’t agree to that, so Hulu bowed out.

Five years ago, when The CW and Netflix first became friends, The CW didn’t have nearly as much bargaining power as they have now, but with the popularity of their comic book super hero shows like Arrow and The Flash and the longest running genre show on television… Supernatural (starting Season 12 in October) they’ve got some major pull at the bargaining table.  So, when they unveil the deal later this week, I’m sure both parties will be happy with the outcome.

But will the viewers?

‘Superman’ To Appear In ‘Supergirl’ Season 2

Superman

Supergirls move to CW has ushered in a new era for the Daughter of Krypton. Not only will Kara & Co. feature more predominantly in Arrow-verse’s annual crossover event, but CW has now been allowed to introduce their own version of DC’s poster boy , Superman.

Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl“, revealed executive producer Andrew Kriesberg. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!

Although Supergirl fans have seen Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) cousin crop up in the pilot episode – albeit draped in shadow – and exchange words of wisdom via email from time-to-time. This will be the first time that Clark Kent will be introduced on screen as casting is currently underway to find CW’s Man of Steel.

With the network previously confirming that Supergirl will appear alongside Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow in the mega-crossover this year. It remains to be seen whether or not Superman will play a part or featured predominantly further down the line.

Supergirl Season 2 will premier on CW this fall.

Rick Famuyiwa To Direct The Flash Movie

The Flash movie is about to be Dope!

Warner Bros. has appointed Rick Famuyiwa as the director for its superhero epic, The Flash. Famuyiwa is best known for writing and directing the critically acclaimed 2015 Sundance pic, Dope. The filmmaker has been receiving significant Emmy-season buzz for directing Confirmation, the HBO drama which stars Kerry Washington and Wendell Pierce.

The news come after BatmanNews made a stray observation on Rick Famuyiwa’s twitter account, a few days ago. In short period of time, Famuyiwa‘s account started following Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, Suicide Squad, Zack Snyder, Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher and Jason Mamoa, all who are part of the DC Extended Universe.

Seth Grahame-Smith (Author of Pride& Prejudice & Zombies, and Abraham Lincoln) penned the script from a treatment by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, 21  Jump Street). Grahame-Smith was originally going to make his directorial debut with The Flash, but left due to creative differences with the studio.

The Flash movie will star Ezra Miller( Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) as the titular character. It will arrive in cinemas in March 16 2018.

The Flash SN2 EP23 – ‘The Race of His Life’

rsz_the-flash-season-2-premiere-review (1)

It’s time for your latest The Flash review! This episode was directed by Antonio Negret, and written by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing. As the episode’s name hints, Barry has the race of his life … against Zoom.

Zoom comes to Barry demanding a race to determine who is faster, threatening that if he refuses, he will kill everyone that Barry loves. Wells tells everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs that Zoom stole a magnetar from Mercury Labs that can be used to destroy every world in the multiverse if Zoom and Barry can create enough energy from their race to power it up. Everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs agrees that Barry is too emotional, from the recent loss of his father, to make a rational decision about the race.

When Barry refuses to back out, Joe with the help of the team locks Barry in a containment cell for his own protection. The team develops their own plan to send Zoom back to Earth-2 and seal the breach behind them. One small fault makes the plan turn into a disaster: Wells’ gun jams. In the chaos of getting Zoom through the breach, Joe is pulled in with him. On Earth-2, Zoom reveals to a restrained Joe that the man in the iron mask is the real Jay Garrick.

Back on Earth, the team tells Wally that Joe has been taken hostage, so Wally releases Barry to rescue Joe. Cisco vibes to Zoom, so that Barry can tell him he has agreed to race him, so  long as Joe is returned without harm if he wins. Barry and Zoom race while the magnatar begins to charge. However, Barry creates a time remnant of himself, who gives up his life to stop the magnatar, while Barry frees Joe and takes on Zoom.

Barry kicks Zoom’s butt (collective sigh of relief), and two Time Wraiths appear. Zoom is unable to fight them off and is taken away by the Time Wraiths who basically suck his life dry, Dementor style. Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, the true Jay Garrick is revealed to be Henry Allen’s doppelganger, much to Barry’s shock.

jay_garrick_flash_23

Wells and Jesse return with Jay to Earth-2 to live their lives. Just when we think everything is back to normal, Barry confesses to Iris the true depth of his pain —having lost both his mother and father. After Iris tells him that she will always wait for him, like he waited for her, he leaves Barry to his thoughts. Barry unable to cope with the way things are goes back in time, to the night his mother died… and saves her.

What are your thoughts on the finale? Disappointing or up to par? I myself was expecting more of a fight between Zoom and Flash, but I guess it goes to show they were equally matched by this episode. What are your predictions for the next episode? Comment, share and like below, or tweet me @SohoDoll. And as always, “Run Barry, run!”
