I loooooooooved the original Crow movie. I watched it all the time, got to the point to where I knew each line by heart: “it can’t rain all the time,” or “onions make you fart, big time,” “does the corpse have a familiar face?” and my fav, “Mother is the word for god on the hearts and lips of all children”… yeah, I loved it… loooooved it. But of course, as in true Hollywood fashion, (because it seems they have run out of ideas) they are remaking yet another movie, this time The Crow. Personally I think they should just make a Crow movie, like they did a couple times, such as City of Angels and Salvation. But that would not be in Hollywood tradition, so whatever. (They better do it justice, that’s all I’m saying)

Their leading guy who is in talks to play the Crow is our most recent Aquaman, Jason Momoa. I think this could work. He definitely has the hair, and his big intimidating figure could fit for our dark death-dealer. Jason showed his awesome acting abilities as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, then showed us his underwater feats as Aquaman in The Dawn of Justice, and now may be adding another notch to his acting belt by playing the Crow in the remake of the 1994 movie.
Though the excitement is there for another Crow movie, even if it’s a remake of the original, are they not aware of the curse that seems to happen with the Crow titles? Now we all know about the Brandon Lee, how he was shot and killed while filming, almost costing the movie its premier… And what about the TV show, The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, where there was another accidental death when an unexpected explosion killed stuntman Marc Akerstream, as well as other mishaps during the making of the other Crow movies is the Dragon King ready to face these challenges? Let alone can he fill the already super sized shoes that the late great Brandon Lee did once before?
It sounds like they are doing the same story as before, but hitting closer to the comics than the original movie did, so I guess there may be something new in there besides the faces, but I’m afraid the stout Aquaman may be too muscular to play the white faced slender Crow. But who knows, this is only rumors for now, it may change again. But hopefully, whatever they do, they rock it, because this girl right here will not take less than the best for the Crow movies. ^_^
