Original Character to Make Appearance in 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes

The character of Nova makes her return

Hey, Planet of the Apes fans! Deven B here to fill you in on another tidbit of developing news on 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.

During the first few seconds of the trailer (which I’ve so graciously provided for you), you’ll notice Caesar glances over at a little girl riding with Maurice (the Orangutan).

That’s one of the easter eggs that movie-runner Matt Reeves says you’ll get in the newest installment of the Planet of the Apes reboot.

The little girl is named Nova, and Reeves goes on to mention that Nova will actually play a big role.

Nova is a throwback but Reeves promises she isn’t there just to impress fans of the original films. When asked about how he’ll use Nova, Reeves comments

“She’s [Nova] is a pullback to his [Caesar’s] empathy and – for lack of a better word- his human side.”

Reeves also says that Nova will be part of a “greater mystery” involving the major characters.

Other Easter Eggs?

The first two films of the reboot have seen very few references to the original film series which starred the late, great Charleton Heston.

If you can recall, the character of Nova served as the romantic interest of Taylor (Heston) but was killed off in the second film, Beneath the Planet of the Apes. Sorry if I totally just spoiled that for you, but it won’t ruin the movies, I promise.

The original trailer for the new film was released in early December. War for the Planet of the Apes follows the critical and commercial success of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014). The

The new installment stars Andy Serkis who’s joined by Woody Harrelson in a villainous role. The film also stars Steve Zahn and Judy Greer. It arrives in theaters on July 14, 2017.

Son of Zorn S1E9 ‘The War on Grafelnik’

Its Christmas time and Alan has to choose between Zorn and Edie for celebrating. Zorn tells them all about the story of Grafelnik which sounds just like Taken. It is rather humorous how they spin the story of Grafelnik but you can clearly see it is a Taken reference.

Craig runs away from a Santa wine cover. Don’t tell me he’s afraid of Santa? Meanwhile, Zorn sends Alan to a scary location for Grafelnik. Ah Zorn, as much as he cares for Alan he has no idea what danger is.

We find out that Craig is terrified of Santa after a terrible childhood moment. After hearing what scared him, I think anyone would be terrified of Santa.

Zorn and Alan have some fun Grafelnik time. Edie and Zorn both want to spend the holiday with Alan. Of course they do, they are both his parents and he is almost old enough to leave them. Craig goes to see Santa so he can get over his fear. He tries to sit on his lap but certainly can’t go through with it. Zorn buys Alan a hover side car when he asks. Edie is of course disgusted as anything Zorn gets is usually very dangerous.

Edie overhears Alan’s bragging about his plan and goes to see Zorn. Edie and Zorn go all Grafelnik on Alan to reach him a lesson. It is nice to see these two team up. Wouldn’t mind an episode flashback with Zorn and Edie in Zephyria.

Zorn goes to sack Santa’s village at the mall. Edie and Zorn fake fight and when Zorn lights the tree on fire Alan breaks. Edie and Zorn’s revenge worked but they terrified a good number of children. They even manage to send a Santa inflatable to the ground and it covers poor Craig. Craig thinks he is cured but soon runs off totally afraid.

Zorn brings out Zephyria killer bees as the final Grafelnik revenge. Definitely one of his most terrible ideas especially when as the episode ends you hear the characters scream.

I did enjoy this episode and think that it is always nice to think of crazy fake holidays. Sure this won’t be remembered like Festivus but I think it is interesting to bring revenge into the holiday season. Definitely works for an insane cartoon barbarian.

Family Guy S15 E8 ‘Carter and Tricia’

After a gag about Jake Gyllenhall and Jared Leto, Brian comes in with some news. Lois’ father has bought the brewery that Peter works at. Carter is super happy that he is Peter’s boss as he despises him. Peter definitely does not have luck on his side.

Brian’s license is confiscated after he passes a red light. Carter makes Peter’s life a living hell which is always humorous.

Carter is trying to make the beer in cheap toxic material. Peter brings the news to Tricia Takanawa who goes to see Carter. Carter instantly falls in love with Tricia and she is smitten as well.

Carter leaves Lois’ mother and has Tricia move in with him. Stewie takes it upon himself to be Brian’s Drivers Ed  teacher. Peter soon becomes a tiger son to Tricia Takanawa. He then assists Dr.Jones as Short Round. A great slightly racist joke that does actually work.

Brian is taken on a training ride by Stewie. Tricia reveals that her relationship was a ruse to find out what he did from his mouth.

Peter and Carter are both upset about what Tricia did. They see that her mother is vicious and still yells at her to this day because she isn’t good enough. Realizing that they can’t hurt someone who has always been down, Peter sacrifices himself. The effects of the drug are really quite nasty.

In the end everything works out and Stewie asks Brian for a favor which turns out to be going for ice-cream. I think it is nice that Stewie just wanted to go with Brian to get Icecream as he did ask him once in an old episode.

I thought that this was a decent episode of Family Guy. It is always interesting when characters that you’d never think of together come together even if it is fake in the end. Plus it took a more humorous spin on the whole Tiger mom idea which deserves a little levity.

Photos of Sigourney Weaver and Finn Jones Leak From “The Defenders” Set

Whilst we eagerly await details of the Netflix series of Marvel’s Iron Fist, set photos of Finn Jones (Game of Thrones, Sleeping Beauty, The Bill) as Danny Rand on the set of The Defenders have appeared online.

The photos so far show no costume yet, however they do show Danny walking out of a glass building in a smart suit – much different to his attire from the promotional trailers, where he was more akin to a homeless person.

These photos seem to add more questions than answer any – could he be involved in some sort of law suit and a lawyer has got him all dressed up? (A certain Matthew Murdock, perhaps?)

Photos of Sigourney Weaver (Alien, A Monster Calls, Political Animals) have also appeared online. Weaver is due to play the villain in the series, however details of who she’ll actually be playing are very scarce. The set photos don’t reveal much either – simply her well dressed and at a restaurant.

Other theories suggest he may be trying to get back in with his family company, Rand Corporations. The company was founded by his father, Wendell Rand and his partner Harold Meachum – when the Rand’s are presumed dead, Meachum takes over the company. However, Danny’s return allows him to eventually take back his fathers company. There is every chance Danny’s role in both Iron Fist and The Defenders will follow this story, as it would aid nicely to Danny keeping his Iron Fist identity a secret.

Other set photos have leaked as well, including Krysten Ritter’s (Big Eyes, Don’t Trust the B- In Apartment 23, Breaking Bad) Jessica Jones coming face to face with Misty Knight from Luke Cage, Mike Colter (Million Dollar Baby, Zero Dark Thirty, Salt) back in New York City and getting rather cosy with Rosario Dawson’s (Sin City, Rent, Death Proof) Claire Temple, and also Jessica and Matthew Murdock (Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox – Stardust, The Theory of Everything, Legacy.)

The Defenders aired a trailer at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, and while it didn’t reveal much, we do know the series will be coming to Netflix at some point in 2017.

The next Pokemon movie is a major nostalgia rush!

The Pokemon Series has been around for a long time now obviously. Every year they have a movie to connect with the anime. Todau they announced what will be the next movie.

Many thought it would be a Sun and Moon movie involving Solgaleo and Lunala. But it looks like the Pokemon Company is going a different route.

Instead of doing a Sun and Moon movie they are doing a Kanto journey movie of some sort. In a short clip it showed off Pallet town, Ash putting on his original hat, and Pikachu.

This movie seems to be a big anniversary movie and involves Ho-oh! Ho-oh has never had its own movie even though he appeared in the first episode.

Could this be a movie with Ash telling a story to his new Alola friends? Will Misty, Brock, and Gary make appearances?

This movie should be great for new and old fans alike. It will bring back the energy on the first two seasons and the greatness of early Ash. I can’t wait for the movie and for this new generation to see what Pokemon was at the start.

While I will always love Pokemon there is something special about the Kanto saga. We will probably learn more before Pokemon I Choose You releases in Japan on July 15th, 2017!

The Amazing World of Gumball S5 E10 ‘The Slide;

Rocky the school janitor is sad and asks Gumball and Darwin for help. He’s seen who he thinks is the love of his life. She does look like a female version of him so I guess it works.

He signs up for a dating app after a pop up on the computer suggests it. Gumball and Darwin help him out with funny consequences. Online dating is certainly just as terrible as this show says. Though I am glad we aren’t actually swiped up when people reject us.

He finds his dream girl and ends up sliding up. They then comb the town looking for the love of his life. They do horrendous things to do many people in the name of love so I guess it’s okay?

They find her and learn that Rocky of course was looking at her creepily. This makes sense as Rocky isn’t the brightest person. She swipes up and sends him away. In the end Darwin gives him a flower in game and he is okay with that for now. I do hope Rocky finds someone some day as everyone deserves a little love.

I liked this episode because it shows the insanity of online dating. This is something that is now part of life and people should laugh at it. Just a good episode in general.

The Amazing World of Gumball S5 E11 ‘The Loophole’

Gumball is super confused why they have homework and is unable to get any help. Like an kid Gumball hates homework but then again he is also one of the laziest people. Gumball and Darwin talk to Bobert so they don’t have to do their homework. This won’t end well clearly as anytime Gumball cuts corners he is troubled by the results.

Gumball and Darwin work to fix his logic sensors.  Bobert is a great character because of the fact that he is a robot and  of course takes everything way to literally. Being connected to the web he is able to see all the laws in the world that are in effect. Analyzing that man has made all these laws do to their actions he deems them a target to wipe out.

Bobert causes the collapse of civilization which leads the world into chaos. Gumball and Darwin realize that they have made a grave mistake. Though Gumball clearly has not learned anything from this event.

They remember that they told Bobert not to hurt any living thing which includes Viruses. Bobert stops the plan to wipe out beings and everything returns to what this show calls normal. They then ask Bobert for help with homework which would have been the thing they should have done from the beginning.

I thought this was a very solid episode. Gumball clearly didn’t learn anything as usual and Bobert got another spotlight episode. This show does always work to integrate at least one character into the spotlight besides the Wattersons in every episode. It is just a great show to watch.

Spider-Man Homecoming First Trailer Is Here.

Sony and Marvel Studios have unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming reboot of arguably the most beloved Marvel character, Spider Man. Homecoming is the first movie in a planned trilogy which is a joint-production by Sony and Marvel. Spider Man played by Tom Holland made his debut on this year’s Marvel’s Captain America Civil War, in which his performance was regarded by many as the “scene-stealer.” Apart from his athleticism, Tom Holland has the wit that someone who plays the friendly neighbourhood superhero should have.

I am stoked to see what Marvel and Sony come up with for the film, though I am a bit worried about the movie being over-bloated by too many characters which we’ve been hearing about their casting of the past few months. It also doesn’t help that the last Spider Man film suffered from such. But what Marvel was able to do with Civil War kinda puts my fears at ease.

Take a look at the trailer below followed by the film’s synopsis.

Here’s the film synopsis:

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
