Paulson is currently up for an Emmy award for her portrayal of Marcia Clark in The People vs. O. J. Simpson.  She has already signed on to Ryan Murphy’s new project Feud, so there is some skepticism that Paulson would have time for Ocean’s Eight.  However, Paulson has not confirmed her part in American Horror Story Season 6, set to premiere in September.

Ocean’s Eight was announced earlier this month with seven of the eight all female actresses already cast.  The story will once again center around a heist, but it is not a remake, but more of a sequel to Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy.  Gary Ross, who directed The Hunger Games and Olivia Milch have written the script and although no details have been released, sources say that the film will be about  a heist on the New York Met Gala.

The original Ocean’s Eleven was the 1960 Rat Pack blockbuster starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and others.  The 2001 Soderbergh remake starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and many other house hold name actors.  Both films centered around a company of men who worked together to rob Las Vegas casinos.  Clooney, Pitt, and company went on to make two more films in the Ocean’s Universe.
