The highly anticipated 3rd Season of Telltale’s ongoing series of Walking Dead adventure games is almost upon us, and this year’s Game Awards gave us a fresh new look at what the game has in store for us. Spoiler Alert! It’s a whole lot of sadness and depression.

Following on from the announcement last month that the series is set to be released December 20th, it has now been revealed that the premiere will last through two episodes due to the enormity of the story being told. This means come release day, fans will be sitting down to play two brand new action-packed episodes, with the rest releasing throughout 2017. In addition to this exciting news, Telltale also released an extended trailer for the game, detailing the tragic origins of new playable character Javier.
The game takes place 4 years into the apocalypse, two years after the events of Season 2, featuring a much older Clementine as she meets Javier:
“As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last.”
The game will follow the same format as all the others in the series, with the player interacting with the dramatic story that unfolds, with every decision you make informing who lives, and who dies.
Telltale’s ‘The Walking Dead: A New Frontier’ Episodes 1 and 2 release on PC, PS4 and XBOX ONE December 20th, 2016.
Joe is insanely hyped for this game to finally come out and is hoping to play it soon after release. To see just what he makes of the game, be sure to follow him @resonantrevs over on Twitter.
