Everyone deals with grief differently. Even twins. And according to the latest episode of Orphan Black, clones too.

This episode mainly deals with how our dear sisters are coping with the loss of Kendall Malone, the original. Needless to say, this episode was filled with emotionally draining scenes, which I think was a great way to mourn the loss of such an epic character.

Enough about me telling you how emotional the latest episode was, it’s time I show you!

Rachel: the captive clone is no longer in captivity. After the loss of the original and her genome, Susan Duncan lost all hope, and let Rachel go free. There is no longer a point in keeping her in her cell. She, along with Charlotte and Ira are going to die soon. To add salt to injury, Evie Cho, the new head of Neolution, announces the official end of the clone programs. She also states that there is no need to even bother with the remaining Leda clones, except for the “self-aware sisters”.

Alison: Alison tried to keep herself busy with organising a birthday slumber party to Gemma (her adopted daughter). Donnie can see that she is suffering, and tries to get her to talk it out. She ignores him and keeps working. The slumber party seems to be a success, until the police comes in to arrest Donnie for his drug dealing past. As Donnie is being taken away by the police, Detective Duco (Evie Cho’s henchman) talks to Alison, gives her his card as he asks her about her feelings towards Kendall’s murder.

Cosima: out of all the clones, it felt like Cosima was the one who had the hardest time dealing. For starters, she saw the murder happen. Added to that, she blames herself for the ordeal, cause after all, she was one who pushed for the deal that lead to the kidnapping, and then murder, of the original. While discussing her chances of survival with Scott, she reveals that she swiped Sarah’s cheek worm after its removal. Maybe they can use it to try and fix something? With the amount of stress she is under, she starts to believe that placing the cheek worm in her could be the solution to her problems (for a person who lost everything, and is about to die anyway, a risky, uneducated and unaided “operation” is not that much of a risk). Halfway through the blind insertion, she gets a call from Felix whose somewhat good news stops her from doing the dumbest thing she has ever done.

Sarah: Siobhan blames Sarah for the death of her mother. So she confronts Sarah, and tells her to just leave again, and never come back. Sarah wants to take Kira with her, but obviously Siobhan won’t stand for it. This leads Sarah to “get off track”. She goes to random clubs, takes drinks from random strangers she’s never met, and even sniffs some white powder! She even starts to see Beth’s ghost everywhere, urging her to follow suit.

Felix: I left Felix till the end because he was the hero of the episode! When he finds out what Mrs S told Sarah, he runs out looking for his sister. On his search and rescue mission, he gets a call from S telling him that Kira had a feeling (I am beginning to think that Kira’s feelings are a sort of super power) that Sarah is following Beth’s lead. On his way to the train station, he gets a call from Scott who needs help with Cosima, which is when he remembered that he didn’t share the news about Delphine Krystal told him. Apparently, after getting herself shot, a yet unknown group took Delphine somwhere while still alive (so there is hope!!). He eventually finds Sarah on the side of a bridge, standing there, thinking of jumping. Felix of course, stops her, managing to save the day twice in the span of 5 minutes!!!

I really, really, REALLY enjoyed this episode. It was just what we needed after the bombshell of an episode that preceded it. Not only was the episode dark and depressing, it also sort of teased for a bright possible future. And that possible future is Rachel and Susan working together with clone club to take back Neolution (just speculating here). Another possible future is a Cosima/Delphine reunited!!!!!!

I am super excited about this week’s episode, and can’t wait to see the next one. How about you? Are you enjoying the direction this season is headed? Do you think we will see a super clone club/Duncan team up? Do you like the idea of a super team up? And of course, do you think Delphine is still alive somewhere (I personally hope she is)?
