Xbox 360 Remaster Of Goldeneye 007 Is The One That Got Away

Many hours of my childhood were spent hissing at the sun like some kind of hideous cave troll/snake, whilst me and several of my friends challenged each other to hours upon hours of Goldeneye on the N64 and arguing over who was going to play as Oddjob. Even thinking about that game brings back years of nostalgic joy, that few games do today.

If you share the fond memories of this game, then it’ll please and sadden you to hear that Rare were in the final stages of a remake for the Xbox 360…were. The footage below comes from Rare Thief and starts us off at the dam mission, showing off some improved graphics running at a cool 60FPS. The graphics aren’t quite what you’d expect from an Xbox 360 title, but they are definitely an improvement on the original N64 version, which is shown with the occasional jump between the two versions as shown below:

The video shows a decent 30 minutes of the unfinished game and appears to be faithful to the original throughout, including original sound effects and guns.

The game was originally set for a 2008 release on the Xbox Live Arcade, apparently it had 2 months left before its initial release, but money became it’s downfall as Microsoft couldn’t come to a licensing agreement with Nintendo and they shut the project down.

It’s not all doom and gloom though, one fan has remastered the game under the name of Goldeneye: Source (Trailer below), which boasts online playability with up to four players. Let’s just hope the big guys at Nintendo leave this one for us to enjoy.

‘Kiefer Sutherland’ Returns For ‘Flatliners’ Reboot

Kiefer Sutherland recently revealed that he is set to appear in Columbia Pictures remake of the 90’s cult classic Flatliners, but left fans of the original film to speculate as to the nature of Sutherland’s return.

Until now.

In an interview with Metro, the American actor confirmed that he will “play a professor at the medical university,” who is understood to be Nelson Wright, Sutherland’s character from the original film. “It is never stated but it will probably be very clearly understood that I’m the same character [-], but that I have changed my name and I’ve done some things to move on from the experiments that we were doing in the original film.

I loved making the first film,” added the Hollywood actor. “When I was asked if I would be interested in taking part in this, it didn’t take more than a minute to say yes.

The Joel Schumacher directed original, which also starred Kevin Bacon, Julia RobertsOliver Platt and William Baldwin, received a mixed reception upon release but accrued $10 Million on its opening weekend before going on the gross $61.5 Million in the US alone.

Danish Director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is set the helm the reboot with former Vampire Dairies actress Nina Dobrev, Ellen Page (Inception), Diego Luna (Rogue One), James Norton (War & Peace) and Kiersey Clemons (Bad Neighbours 2).

Principal Photography for the reboot is underway in Toronto with Columbia Pictures citing a release of August 18, 2017.

damien2.jpg

I could hardly contain my excitement when I learnt that ‘The Omen’ (I own The Omen Pentology) was being re-imagined as a TV series and follows Damien in his adult life. For those of you that are not familiar with ‘The Omen’ here is a brief background.

The Omen movies are an American-British horror set in 1976 and is about a young boy Damien, who was adopted at birth by Mr Thorn the American Ambassador and his wife after their their own son was still born but things are not what the seem with Damien and surrounded by mystery and death, the Thorn’s are totally unaware their son is the Antichrist. You dont need to have seen the movies to understand whats going on in the TV series as it explains his past along the way.
